Area itself was not that exciting but very convenient in terms of access to transport with the city only two stops away. Staff had significant language problems with both German and English. Had to correct some simple maths on the bill (they tried to bill me an extra night) and was told to get train to the city to find an ATM when there was actually one less than 100m away. Great value, despite staff issues and convenient if on a budget.

We had a two bedroom apartment with kitchenette. The apartment had character and was clean, however if you are planning on cooking, the kitchenette was very small with minimal implements. The latch to the window was broken, so we were very concerned about setting the smoke alarm off. It was very noisy during the night and the beds were very firm. We did not opt in for the breakfast as it was 19 euro pp and there were three of us. Plenty of bakeries and cafes near buy. Went to the Indian restaurant connected to the hotel. It had fantastic reviews but in our opinion it was average. Laundry service was outrageously expensive which is the case with all hotels we stayed in in Germany. The wash box laundromat was excellent and not too far away.

The elevator broke while we were staying on the sixth floor. We asked for assistance with our large luggage and they refused. By sheer coincidence a cleaning lady saw us and helped on the last floor when we were checking out. Otherwise nice facility and good for a place with a group.

Please fix the curtain in room 660

Excellent room EXCEPT some fool had installed the curtain rail to follow the slope of the ceiling. Naturally that meant the curtain just slides down the slope.

We suggested a solution of pegging that section of curtain to the larger section of curtain which was not sloping down. We asked if they could provide some way to pin them together. The receptionist insisted it would be taken care of by the housekeeping staff. It wasn't.

Put a do not disturb on the door or be interrupted by a knocking on the door at 8:30am.

Lovely hotel with very helpful staff. Nice have two separated rooms with thier own bathrooms.

The kitchenette is ok but there needs to and there is space for a little worktop to prepare or chop foods and also needs for cupboards space to place not chilled food. Also not good only have one safe in one of the rooms plus the safe is very small to fit a 11\" tablet in.

The bed is very comfortable but pillows are way too soft. Had to request two more. The blackout curtains are brilliant, no light gets through. The bathrooms are large with a supply of shower gels and shampoos pity the only shelf in there is too high.

It nice to have access to the iron, ironing board, washing machine and tumble dryer in the basement.

The bar is closed for some reason even the one in the opposite hotel. Not sure why? This hotel doesnt serve breakfast or a sauna but the opposite hotel can be used for these and luckily its not far.

There a few restaurants close by and a supermarket around 3 mins walk away. Also the underground station is 2 mins walk away.

It was a lovely stay and would definitely stay again and again.

We arrived to our room and it was terribly hot. We could mange this but the room smelled very strongly of the restaurant food on the main floor. The room was not acceptable to relax or sleep. On top of this, the second room was not clean, there was a build up of dust on surfaces like the side table and TV remote and also hair in the bathroom.
We spoke with the hotel staff and they were very accommodating and moved us to a new room the next day. Hotel staff we dealt with was very friendly.
I was very excited to stay here as it is listed as an eco-hotel. However, I would not stay here again and do not feel it is a 4-star hotel.

Stayed here for 3 nights and whilst the hotel was comfortable and clean the 2 bed apartment was a slight let down, in that one of the bedrooms only had windows into a internal courtyard
Also no air conditioning only a tower fan

awful experience, dont know how they claim they have 4 stars... the hotel is really old and not in good shape, the shower is really really small, could bearly fit and it was broken for 2 days and the solution for the smart ppl at reception was to offer a smaller room or go take a shower at the hotel next door!! IT HAS NO AC!!! don´t know how the pull the star rating again with this one. wished I hadnt booked, overall awful experience but couldnt move out since i had a non refundable rate

Hotel wasn’t bad, just different things to get used to as Americans. The biggest issue was the heat. There is no air conditioning in the hotel and even when it was cool outside, it was still warm inside. We only had one hot day, but difficulty sleeping every night, even when it was only 11-13 degrees Celsius (50-57 Fahrenheit) outside. We opened all of the windows, but it was hard to get a good breeze going. The shower was also very tiny in the smaller bedroom and doors didn’t make a good seal so water got all over the floor. For reference, I’m 5’9 and 150 lbs and every time I bent down my butt would open the doors up. Impossible to shave in there. The height of the shower head wouldn’t be able to accommodate anyone taller than myself and if you were over 200lbs you definitely wouldn’t fit in there. The rooms also had normal locks with keys which I haven’t seen in hotels since I was a child. Other than that we had a good stay. Staff was friendly and helpful and hotel is in a good location. Sites are not far away and there is a subway station right there.

We enjoyed our stay a Living Hotel Berlin Mitte very much. The rooms were tidy and comfortable. The hotel is across the street from a metro station and within easy walking distance of restaurants and museums. The staff was helpful and even left us a St. Nicholas Day gift. Would definitely stay here agin!

Nice hotel; street noise 2nd floor

S Bahn station across the street from this hotel made traveling around Berlin very convenient. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel room was clean and comfortable. The only downside to our stay was the weather was warm low to mid 80s during the day; with no air conditioning and our room on the second floor, we keep the windows open slightly and there was considerable traffic noise during the night. We would stay at this hotel again in the future but would request a room in a higher floor.

Close to the heart of St. Petersburg. Terrible concept of split level hotel. Hygiene was abit of an issue. Staff is friendly, however not well versed in English. Rooms are small, and noticed quite a few guests having issues with house keeping.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. On arrival the staff were very friendly (Sophia) and very quick checking in. The room was so modern and clean and had a balcony which was great because it was 28degrees some days. The hotel is situated very central (but quiet) with plenty of everything in every direction. The tube U is literally a stones throw away and the whole city can be accessed from there for a day ticket of €7.40. So handy! The pictures of this hotel do not do it justice as it is very stylish and modern with a hint of old-fashioned about it. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Berlin this summer. Great city, great hotel.

Very simple hotel with no a/c. When I was there the Internet wasn’t working so I could not work. They also failed to connect a call to my room even though I warned them in advance that someone would call. They told my caller I was not a guest! Very frustrating.

A clean, friendly and relaxing hotel. In an ideal location all the main sites are an easy walk away, or there is a U-Bahn stop directly opposite. A great Edeka mini supermarket 2 minutes walk away, making the kitchenette in the room even more useful.

A great central location for the sightseer.

The Hotel is a one minutes walk to the nearest underground (Mariches) and about 10 minutes from the overground station - Jannowitzbrücke.

It is an ideal location for exploring the City's many attractions on foot.

Best sleep in awhile

The bed was incredibly comfortable and the room/bathroom were spacious. I love having a kettle in the room for that first cup of coffee in the morning. The hotel desk service staff were amazing, helpful, and cheerful. The location is a bit away from sites and dining; however the bus and train are just out the front door. It was super easy to use this hotel as our landing pad.

Perfect central hub for exploring Berlin

I spent 17 days at the hotel in a single room but one that was designed for disabled guests. To that end, I felt that it was beautifully appointed. It had all the facilities necessary for a longer stay, including excellent laundry facilities in the basement. All the furnishings were very comfortable and the room felt more like a mini-suite with a desk as well as a table, chair and reading lamp. Lots of wardrobe space. The WiFi service was strong and reliable.
The single bed was spacious and comfortable. Room staff cleaned daily and replenished the complimentary minibar drinks - mineral water and beer. Tea/coffee-making service. The kitchenette had all the crockery, cutlery, cooking equipment and utensils needed to prepare a meal, though I generally brought in prepared meals for heating in the microwave or had dinner at one of the 3 very good restaurants nearby, including the Indian restaurant in the hotel building. A buffet breakfast in the hotel was available daily for an extra price. It was good value.
A supermarket with a deli, a good range of prepared salads and a bakery is a short walk away and usefully located near a major bus stop. The U2 line subway station and several bus stops are directly opposite the hotel. It is in a pleasant mixed-business/residential neighbourhood with embassies, a school, a museum and a music conservatorium.

Comprise of double and a single room with own bathroom in each room.
Deco is bit dated but rooms were spacious
Double room had a kettle and a small selection of teas and coffee on offer.
Had a small kitchenette in the hall way. Cutlery and utensils were clean and new looking. A few pans in very good condition. A fridge for extra drinks ect.
Free 2 bottles of water and beer per room was a bonus.
Supermarkets close by, turn left out of revolving doors, a few mins.walk on the left.
Tube line just over the road, public transport very good and easy to navigate.

Great location

The hotel is across the road from an underground station which makes it easy to get around if you don't want to walk everywhere. Quite a busy area for traffic at peak times.
Not having visited Berlin before we were amazed at the number of cyclists. You need to keep a sharp eye out for them as well as cars.
Our check in was efficient.
Our room was clean and comfortable and the public areas of the hotel were spotless.
We didn't eat or drink in the hotel so can't comment on the restaurant. However the beer in the mini bar was very welcome after a long day sightseeing!
We went for a drink to the sister hotel across the road and it was decent. Comfortable place to sit and pleasant service.

Great hotel if you're new to the area

I really enjoyed this Hotel. Great location if a bit noisy with traffic. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They guided me to a really good late night restaurant and to my train in the very early morning hours. The free mini bar was a very nice touch. The only problem I had was that the hot water pitcher smelled like someone had cooked hot dogs in it.

The bed mattress was too soft for me.
Not much help from hotel staff when I wanted food after 11pm. There is no room service that late and no other option than googling a late food service was offered.

The hotel is located in a quiet residential area on a canal. It is very close to the subway and buses. The hotel is well kept and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and had all the expected amenities. Some of the major sights are within walking distance. The hotel was an example of ambience from another era.

Charm, comfort and convenience

We found our accommodation to be ideally located in the Mitte district and across the road from a subway station. Staff were helpful and informative with advice on how to get around, and sold us the day passes for public transport. Our room was large, clean and well equipped with a view over the canal. The breakfast that was provided was reasonably priced and delicious. A great experience.

Fantastic location, literally seconds from Märkisches Museum underground station. It's also close to Alexanderplatz, being just one subway stop away as well as walking distance. The rooms were excellent for the price, however when arriving at the hotel we noticed quite an unpleasant smell in the two rooms we were staying in. Also, the Wi-Fi signal wasn't great and kept dropping. Great value for money though.

Comfortable stay for cooler months

We stayed here for 4 nights in May. Excellent location, many sights walkable from the hotel and the U Bahn is literally across the road. The hotel had a homely feel to it. Our room was a Business Plus on the second floor overlooking the side street where there were building works which, fortunately, didn't get going until 8am. The downside is that there is no air conditioning and, although not a busy area, there was too much traffic noise for me to sleep with the window open. Luckily (?) it was cold during our stay so we managed with the windows closed. I wouldn't want to be there in warmer weather. The facilities in the room were good, free water and beer daily, as others have mentioned, with an adjoining kitchenette. If a family were booking there was another room opposite which would be useful. Breakfast area was a bit cramped, choice adequate. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Indian restaurant next door is useful. We had one, OK meal there. The Verona across the road was fine too. All in all, a comfortable stay. We would go back, but not in the warmer months.

Great hotel in the Center of Berlin

I am staying in this hotel for one week. It has all necessary things from minibar (with water and beer) to shower with organic gel and shampoo. My rooms have also a small kitchenette (but for dishes and cutlery you need to go on reception).
Staff is really welcome.

Nice hotel in east part of Berlin. Well located

Very nice quiet hotel close to most of east atracción. The only problem was that my room was on the last floor and sometimes water didn't have a lot of power, a part of that everything was good.

Weekend in Berlin

3 nights in Business Plus double room.
Unfortunately the business plus was not up too much. Apart from complimentary water and a bottle of beer, there was little to impress. The location of the Hotel is very good, but the room was too warm with no way of controlling the air/con temperature that I could find.
The Wi-Fi was truly awful in both the room, and the lobby and it was impossible to send any images or data.
The ceiling in the bathroom actually crashed to the floor one evening - it could have caused a serious injury if I was in the bathroom at the time. The room furnishings were OK and the shower was good, but the toiletries are poor and resemble a cheap budget hotel (bar of soap and no separate shampoos/moisturisers etc.)
The gym is OK for a hotel, but I didn't try the Sauna.
