You can easily walk it from the Munich main station, and you can walk all through the old city to the main sites of interest. Made it very convenient unbeatable price beware there is no coffee maker or a fridge in the room.

The rooms were very comfortable and spacious. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The front desk people were very helpful. It was convenient to great restaurants, shopping and attractions. We could walk to the museums and the opera. We will definitely book again next time we come to Berlin.

Overpriced, Run-Down Hotel With Poor A/C and Clean

Everything about this place feels worn and dated. The lobby and hallways are dark and gloomy, and while they market themselves as a high-end business hotel, in reality they’re run down and overdue for a major renovation.

The rooms don’t have real air conditioning. Instead, they use an “eco-friendly” system that never lets the room cool below about 22 °C. Ours never dropped below 23.5 °C even after eight hours, and only got there after spiking to 24.8 °C. When we asked for help, staff said they could maybe bring a fan. That took another full day and the fan they eventually brought was old and barely worked.

Cleaning was equally disappointing. There was mold on the grout (the shower sprays everywhere and there’s no ventilation or shower door), a yellow stain under the toilet that looked like urine and stayed even after “cleaning,” dust on surfaces, and hair from previous guests on the bed posts.

Even basic amenities are missing. There’s no way to stream or cast to the TV, and the internet is so painfully slow it’s not worth using. In 2025, that’s simply unacceptable.

If this hadn’t been Berlin Marathon weekend when options were scarce, we wouldn’t have stayed. The only real positive is its location right next to a metro stop.

Average stay in Spittelmarkt. Must do better!

Check in was great and the lady on reception was really friendly and helpful. The room was 208 and a corner room with dual aspect. Bed was comfortable, bathroom large and roomy with a great shower. No experience of food and drink options.
There were a few negatives however - WiFi was terrible and I had to use 5G on my mobile devices. This is not acceptable for a hotel in this class!! One of the 2 basins in the bathroom was blocked so water would not empty. One of the 'flush' buttons for the WC did not work. The air-con was basic and difficult to control - I was only glad to visit in September and not in the heat of summer. The external window did not work properly and 1 set I could not even open. If this hotel is to compete with the Courtyard by Marriott, only 500m away, the Titanic and many others in the area of Spittelmarkt, it must address these issues. I would not stay again to be honest.

This was a very good hotel. It was nice and clean and close to transport links. I did find accessibility to be an issue. I had elderly family members also staying at this hotel and had to collect them in a rental car. There’s no easy car parking at this hotel which made things challenging for picking them up and so please consider that if accessibility is important to you. Overall, though, it was a good hotel.

Nice hotel. I appreciated an upgrade. The only opportunity for improvement would be their front desk-bar staffing. When you rely on only one staff member to cover the bar and front desk you force guests to wait. Excellent customer service does not include standing and waiting.

Modern hotel in the centre

Modern and sleek hotel by Spittelmarkt metro stop. It’s a quiet part of Berlin but central. We got an upgrade to a junior suite which was fantastic, very spacious! There was a large sitting room area with a small study. The windows are huge so the room (suite) was very light filled. Loved it and would happily come back again

I had a great stay at this hotel. It’s very well located, just a short walk from the subway, which made getting around the city incredibly convenient. The room was comfortable, clean, and quiet—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Breakfast was also very good, with a nice variety of options to start the day right. Staff was really helpful, the hotel looks a little outdated and some facilities look old. Area is very quiet and walkable, but is not that close to some main places. Good thing is that there is a U-Bahn station right in front to move quickly.

We stayed for 3 nights, on arrival reception staff very welcoming and room ready at 10.30am. Extremely comfortable beds, good location and underground station outside hotel. Daily housekeeping also excellent beds made and fresh towels, coffee and a complimentary bottle of water each day.
Unfortunately the hotel restaurant was not operating other than for breakfast and hotel bar didn’t open till 6pm.

Conveniently located across the street from the underground.

Our room was on the corner and very spacious. The rooms did get very hot in the night and the street got pretty noisy so opening windows wasn’t the best for sleep.

The reception staff was helpful and pleasant but we were ignored and not helped when trying to get breakfast on a few occasions.

This hotel was very clean and the staff were all super friendly. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because we were on the second floor facing the very busy roadway. The rooms are not air conditioned so at night we had to leave the windows open and the noise from the street was very loud.

It was ok, we could walk to all the tourist sites and the train station was close and convenient. But there was not much close to the hotel as far as conveniences like a store for bottled water or snacks. The bed was comfy but the room was not sparkling clean.

We stayed in a junior suite which had a fairly comfortable king size bed. I liked that the toilet was separate from the shower. The toilet seat though was a bit misaligned. Overall, an excellent stay with friendly staff, particularly the guy who works at night. I'd definitely stay there again.

What I didn’t like was that our room had an average temperature of 27 degrees. All day, all nicht, on all five nights. Their new eco friendly aircondition simply doesn’t work on all the rooms facing south.

Mediorce Stay.

It's a mediorce hotel - we moved from Mercure in Wittenbergplatz and preferred Mercure because of the service, staff and location. The staff weren't welcoming, the rooms were large, but the bedding was poor quality, and every time you touched the duvet, feathers came out (my son actually choked on one!). The location is in the business/commercial district and wasn't ideal for us. That said, we were there for the Euros and we were away from all the noise.

A nice place to stay. The front desk staff were great every time I had a question or needed something. I had a balcony and even though the view was a bit boring it was great to have the extra space and the breeze. The room featured a towel warmer which was fabulous, but no plugs I could find in the bathroom which made it difficult to use any hair tools. Housekeeping was great.

There is a subway stop just across the street as well, which was super convenient. The area is pretty flat so on a nice day it was great to stroll along the river onto the museum island.

I really loved my stay at COSMO! The staff was super friendly and accommodating. I was able to check in early, which was a huge relief after beginning my travels early that morning. Loved how close the hotel was to the Spittelmarkt U-Bahn stop, as I was taking the U2 line for the majority of my exploration.

It was my first time in Europe, so I wasn’t used to some of the appliance functions/features or the less powerful air conditioning. I got a bit warm one of the nights, but that’s mostly due to excessive temperatures in Berlin.

I’ll definitely look to stay here again when I come back to Berlin in the future!

Helpful when I left my wallet in the backseat of an uber. Barman was enchanting. Food in the morning was excellent and the service very good. The hotel is close to the subway but the area is otherwise rather dead and while within walking distance of major museums and restaurants it feels rather desolate otherwise.

Excellent ‘quiet’ hotel in a nice, safe, neighborhood yet close to many things. Alexanderplatz a quick 3 stops across the street on the U Bahn. Breakfast was delicious each morning. Service from the front desk to housekeeping to the bartender was exemplary. And the room was very comfortable, bright and well laid out. While I had hoped to stay closer to Alexanderplatz, I am quite sure we made the right choice by staying here. And the refundability option prior to our arrival was appreciated as we have an ailing parent at home. Glad we didn’t need it, and we enjoyed our stay.

Great place to stay

I had a great stay here - very accommodating staff, cosy room and comfortable bed, great amenities such as sauna, steam room and gym (though the gym is small, it has enough in there to still have a good basic workout). Location of the hotel is on a busy road but the windows do a good job at blocking out sound. It can get quite loud when the windows are open. Breakfast was tasty and fresh. Looking forward to staying again!

Negative - bed was very uncomfortable, gym was small and the machines need to be wiped down, no complimentary bottled water offered in the room, the shower leaks onto the floor everytime you use it creating a flood in the bathroom. The breakfast was mediocre at best and not worth euro 22.

Upon arrival I received an upgrade to a suite. Most unexpected, but well received. Staff were polite and responsive, front of house and breakfast. Can’t comment on other meals. Wonderful hotel

I've stayed at the Cosmo a couple of times, before and after babies. It's a wonderful hotel; the staff is very friendly and efficient; and they accommodated us with cribs for our twins, hot water for bottles, etc. We'll be back the next time we're in Berlin!

We picked this hotel for the location which was very good. Nice staff and clean room. However the AC didn’t work and our room was too hot. We were told they control the temperature and would bring it down which didn’t happen. They had a sauna that we tried but it was not warm and at check out we were told they need to know when we were using it so they would turn it on (I wish they would mention this at check in). Also most of the TV Chanels had poor signal.
There is no coffee maker in the room but we liked their coffee at the small lobby bar in the morning. Bryan made me a very good espresso one afternoon.

We had a good stay at Cosmo. It is on a U line which allows good access to most of the areas of Central Berlin. The room was spacious as was the bathroom. It had a very good tub with amazing water pressure.

Our only complaint was the mattress was too soft for us. We didnt notice it until after the 3rd night. Other than that it was a great place with very friendly service.

CONS:
*No A/C. Have to call front desk to ask them to turn on room fan each time you need. Sometimes the person at desk didn’t know how and you’d have to call back at shift change.

*Shower water would drastically change from cool to scolding hot numerous times during a short shower.

*Many homeless in the area.
