Acoustics is terrible 😔 .
You can hear any step someone is taking from the above or from side rooms .
Rooms cannot be heated which is something you should not expect from such hotel.
Bottom line I had a rough night and will not choose it again with comperable other options

The room and the property are very good. The room is comfortable and clean. The bathroom is modern and has a nice shower. Wifi is consistent with high bandwidth. There is a restaurant and bar next to the lobby. Food quality and service are hnhoffa. The hotel is directly across from the subway and just a few stops away from the Hauptbahnhoff.

We just visit this hotel a stop destination after long driving. It was good to chose Karlsruhe and this hotel. It is located in very good distance from city centre and easy access to the rail station and buses.

One night I got so drunk that I feel asleep in front of the bench that’s right outside the elevator doors of the 4th floor. I was in my underwear and had to go down to the lobby to get a card. The front desk guy didn’t make it awkward and didn’t laugh at me or freak out.

Would definitely stay here again since the beds are comfortable and the bench wasn’t a bad place to sleep either.

Modern hotel in a convenient location to the center of town and train station. However our room was very warm and the only way to cool it off was to open the windows. Unfortunately our room faced the street so lots of street noise disrupted our sleep.

On arrival I wanted to upgrade my room and was told NO because I had booked via you. I wanted to entertain guests and put bar and restaurant charges on my room, avoiding cash transactions putting pressure on my guests. I was told NO as I had paid for the room in advance. Unhelpful and unfriendly.

The location of the Hotel is prime. Although the trams pass right by, I could walk to most of the places I needed to get to including from and back to the Bahnoft. The room and bath were spacious and clean. I asked for and got a single Queen Bed, not those puny mattresses they press together and separate as you lie on them giving an ineffective sleeping experience. There was a safety deposit box in the room and I was also pleased with the provision to make a cup of coffee. I didn't have problems with the internet. The hotel's greatest assets are its front desk staff who were very helpful, professional and pleasant. I was however a bit surprised that there was no iron in the room. Also, like most hotels these days, the duvet/cover was not wide or long enough. I simply cannot understand why the \"traditional\" covers which are wide and long enough for both single and double use are not provided any more! Also, on my first morning, the cleaning lady knocked on my door persistently at quite an early hour, opened my door and walked into the room. Although she could see clearly that I was still sleeping and I indicated that she should come back later, she insisted that she should do the cleaning. She really was not pleasant at all and I have to say that I became quite annoyed at this intrusion of my privacy and interruption of my rest.I did not opt for the Hotel's breakfast as there are several eating places nearby with excellent choices at less than half the cost.

Friendly staffs and nice location

Staffs are friendly, they warmly welcomed us.
The room was clean and big enough for family. Since staff set up crib for our baby, baby could play the inside safely and sleep.
The hotel location is also good. Walkable to Karlsruhe Palace and Marktplatz area, nice to go for shopping and eat.
We could enjoy the stay.

I had a very nice stay at the Novotel. It is by far the best hotel in Karlsruhe. The bedding was very comfortable and the rooms were spacious. The bathtubs are especially delightful. There was one day where my room didn’t get cleaned, and when I called down to the front desk to tell them, they offered me a free breakfast the next morning to compensate. It was a lovely gesture. Only real downside of the hotel is that you must pay for good WiFi. They have free WiFi but it is not good for streaming.

I was placed in a room facing the street. It was very loud and the window did not seem to block out the noises. The curtains did not fully cover the windows and could see light.

The tv only had two English stations. The room was hot and couldn’t get cooler without opening the windows, which just made the street noise louder.

Finally, the free WiFi was incredibly slow and limited. Unless you pay extra nothing can really be used on it.

Very nice hotel

We stayed for two nights. The staff was very friendly, the hotel room big, clean and comfortable. We didn't have breakfast so I can't say anything about that. We had a drink at the bar though. The selection was nice as was the barkeeper. The hotel is nicely located close to a tram stop, neither far from the train station nor from the main sights. All in all, we were very happy with this hotel.

This hotel is for mostly for business people, so fulfils it’s purpose very well.

However, the desk staff are very young, and if a guest needs a doctor etc. they are useless. Local advice is few and far between. I prefer a more personal hotel with some character.

I find this a great hotel in a good location with easy access to the city, KIT and rail station, which is within easy walking distance.
Great staff.
Now that the major roadworks to bury the trams is nearing completion the surrounds are also easier to navigate.

We're pleasantly surprised how upscale the hotel turned out.

The modern room design was simple and very smart and tasteful. It was very spacious and comfortable. The hotel seems fairly new with excellent attached parking garage underground and easy access for checking in and out.

Breakfast was definitely well worth the stay with lots of good food and selections.

Clean, Quiet, and Super-Friendly Weekend Getaway

We loved staying at this hotel, and highly recommend it. The staff was always cheerful, friendly and always helpful. The room was very quiet, comfortable and clean, and lighting was great. Parking was also very convenient, as it was on the lower level. They even have airport-style luggage carts (came in so handy), which was the first we've seen since living in Germany - it was our first good impression of the hotel before even arriving at the lobby, followed by a wonderful, welcoming smile from the front desk staff. We would definitely stay here again, and hope to, when we return to Karlsruhe - which we loved, by the way. Thank you Novotel!

Great hotel. The room feels fresh and new but terrible lights in the bathroom. Couldn t do proper make up for new year eve...the mirror are too far or too high. No cotton swab or cotton pads, had to ask about shower cap. Looks like they try to save on small things.

Karlsruhe, City of perpetual road works

Karl would experience very little Ruhe were he to be trying to get some sleep today. The construction of the East-West tunnel system has already managed to defy Einstein's theories on time. After 6 months they managed to be 1 year behind schedule. Work starts at 0630hrs and can be described as noisy and continual. This is good if you are paying the workers, not so good if you have paid to sleep close by. 2020 is a projected completion date.
Staff at the hotel are charming and helpful. They went out of their way to not just answer the question (are there any good beer pubs nearby?) but they also checked that their recommendations were actually open that night.

Very nice and modern place with great amenities. Centrally located. Breakfast buffet was amazing. Bar in lobby is a nice place to end the day. Underground car park is convenient but expensive. Staff was pleasant and spoke good English, but could not provide much in the way of restaurant recommendations for dinner. We ended up at a very nice (but expensive) place several blocks walking. Only downside was the subway construction on the main street outside the hotel. Highly recommend it.

PERFECT for business, zero old-world charm

We were returning from holiday in Cologne, and had to stop for the night. I just pulled into a parking lot and searched for a room, and booked this one because of the reviews and value price. We were disappointed. It is PERFECT for business travelers. Underground parking, nice bar with light menu and terrace seating. But absolutely no old-world charm whatsoever. And the room was TINY, although as an \"executive room\", it did include a fancy coffee maker and free mini bar (two beers, some waters, a chocolate bar, chips, two Coca Colas, and some juice). We ordered room service for breakfast and it was served very nicely, promptly, and at a decent price. Check in and check out was a breeze.
I asked for ice at the front desk, and was directed to the bar, just a few steps away. When I told the guy that I needed just a small bit of ice for my husband's injured ankle, he held up a finger and disappeared, returning with a sealed bag of ice cubes that was absolutely perfect for the injury. Now THAT is service. I would like to give this hotel a higher rating, but opening the window to a courtyard with scaffolding on every single visible wall keeps me from being able to do so. The hotel did not appear to be full, on a Sunday night. I think we should have been offered a nicer room when I called to the front desk to inquire about the tiny size and the title \"executive\". Again, if i were traveling on business, I would absolutely choose this hotel.

First class hotel. 19 euro for breakfast is expensive but it was wonderful. Room had everything you'd need and the beds were amazing. Even the foldaway bed was comfy. Opening the doors is a real challenge as they are so heavy and the keys don't work properly yet but other than that I thoroughly recommend this hotel and it is centrally located next to the zoo and the tram stop. Beware of all the construction in Karlsruhe though. You can't hear it at all but you can see it!

Nice hotel within walking distance of the marketplatz. Well connected by Tram if you need it. We had a car and were pleasantly surprised to find free parking right outside the hotel, though you might want to use the hotel parking during snow conditions. We got the first wave of heavy snow and it would be a task to clean the car in the morning if you get a lot of snow.

Hotel facilities were very clean and neat and the staff were friendly and helpful and extremely prompt... room service was delivered even before we cut the call!!!

Would definitely recommend the hotel if you are staying in Karlsruhe. Price wise it makes a lot of sense than staying in nearby more expensive locations.

Excellent City Centre stay for Xmas markets

We choose this hotel due its previous reviews, and its proximity to the Christmas markets, and it did not disappoint. The welcome we received at the check in desk was excellent, and provided all the information we needed. The room was spacious and very comfortable, and the choice at breakfast was very good. The leisure facilities at the hotel were also excellent, and we made use of the Sauna and steam room.

Was there on combined business and pleasure. Arrived in Karlsruhe at the train station which is only 1/2 mile away. Attended a conference at the convention center next door and visited many restaurants and shops a short distance way. Spent four nights at this hotel.

Lovely hotel and staff spoke English and very helpful. We had breakfast included in our package and had amazing choice to eat. The only downside Karlsruhe is having major roadworks in and around the city, so getting to the a Hotel proved challenging. But this did not stop my enjoyment of the Hotel and surrounding area.

This was a mid-way stopover between Austria and UK . Despite the roadworks outside we were still able to access the on-site hotel car park. Service was good including a room with walk-in shower for father-in-law who has limited mobility. All areas were tidy and clean. Whilst the B&B rate was competitive the dinner was expensive although it was very good quality. The only negative was only one lift out of the two was in service so there was extended waiting trying to get between floors.

We have stayed at this Novotel twice now and enjoy the location, friendly staff, and cleanliness and comfortable beds. We don't, however, like having to walk down to the ironing room to iron something. We were told that irons and ironing boards are not permitted in the rooms. They are at the Marriott nearby, so, it must be a Novotel restriction and not a city or other type of restriction.

Nice hotel shame about the building site

I have stayed at the hotel a number of times previously and it is a comfortable well run hotel in a good location.The Hbf Station is nearby and the City Centre a 5 or 10 minute walk. I was shocked to arrive and find that the area in front of the hotel was filled with heavy machinery, cranes and noisy with barriers looking like the city was going to be a street circuit for cars. The management should have informed people who wanted to book at the hotel that major engineering works on the tram system were being carried out. I will stay again but will check the work is complete before booking.

Lovely hotel overlooking a square.

Stayed for 1 night on way to Italy, as family of three. Excellent car park, excellent location. Can easily walk in to centre of Karlsruhe which is a thriving small town with excellent shops and restaurants. Had to share bed with 3 year old but king size bed so ok, bath in room very nice. We didn't have dinner or breakfast so can't comment.

Internet in the hotel practically did not work. Front desk got in touch with the provider, but there was no change. Hotel manager did not seem so concerned. Our business trip suffered a big blow. Food at the restaurant was not great either.

Although the hotel is OK, I would not call it value for money. If breakfast had been included, I would not mind paying the price, but it was €19 each on top of what I would say is quite a steep price for a fairly basic hotel, although it was very clean, very efficient, very friendly, etc. etc.

Also, we had an 'executive' room, which is exactly the same as a normal room, but more expensive. For this I would expect free Internet access, but of course this is not the case.

Stylish and modern hotel. Excellent service from staff e.g. phoning gallery to check if open on a particular day. Lovely breakfast - lots of choice and if anything ran out it was re-stocked immediately. Room was lovely, very comfortable and clean. Very helpful that there was 20 minutes free internet use in lobby so were able to check in for flight for following day. Only took a few minutes to walk to the market square and and then on to sights. Karlsruhe itself was great - amazing galleries and really good feel. We'll definitely be back.

A great European hotel

This is such a great hotel! The staff are friendly, everything is spotless, the breakfast is amazing, though somewhat expensive. It is also just half a block's walk to the nearest tram stop and quite close to the city centre. I'll definitely go there again.

Nice place, shame about the road works

Overall, the hotel was very nice. Clean, modern, and a new building with parking garage under the hotel with good access via lift from the carpark to the reception. Good disabled access. Multilingual staff and signage no complaints about the accomodation. Unfortunatly, the Internet access in the hotel has been outsourced as a wifi pay per hour access with very poor signal quality and bad security. I was unable to use the Internet in the hotel, and would not consider the statement about internet access in room to be accurate. If you want internet access, find another hotel. Otherwise the hotel is fine. The current state of the city is very unfortunate as there is a very large amount of building and road work going on. The hotel can't be acccessed directly and requires navigation of the one way system and back streets to approach the road from the one direction, which is the opposite direction from the Autobahn. Any visitor not fluent in German and arrivnig by car will struggle. Basically, the city centre is currently one giant road work with temporary road lanes and signage. There are no signs directing to the hotel at all.
