Breakfast was great with varieties of dishes , especially La Vela is excellent when they offer early- checking -out customers five different menus for taking our breakfast, while some other hotels- specifically Lotte Saigon- did not have this, even when customer requested. Touristy but comfortable, great breakfast buffet with amazing city views. I had some small issues with the ac in my room but Sam at the concierge desk was extremely helpful in resolving my issues. And in general all of the staff at La Vela Saigon were incredibly welcoming, courteous and hard working.
The only real issue I’d point to at this hotel is that it is located at a major traffic intersection — it didn’t affect noise in the hotel but limits walkability in the neighborhood.

The letdown was the buffets. We had the seafood buffet one night, the dim sum buffet one night and breakfast buffet each morning. While there was a variety of different foods at each of these, the quality was not great. The lobster was overcooked and dry which was disappointing and most other foods didn't have a lot of flavor and a lot of items were cold even when they had just been bought out as 'fresh'. This was a beautiful hotel. The staff were friendly, helpful and accomodating. The food was excellent. The roof top pool and bar was outstanding. We loved it so much we extended our stay another 4 days just for this. Everyone says that District 1 is the only place to stay. The La Vela is in District 3 and it’s worth making the change to District 3 just for this stay as you can always get a cheap taxi to District 1 if you want.

I wouldn’t stay here if you wanted relaxation.

Location is good for proximity to airport as well as downtown sights and culture.

The staff is wonderful and the room and property itself is clean. We got the Luxury Deluxe Corner room with was very spacious and had two balconies. Only downside to this property is the walls a thin and you could hear lobby noise, the room next to us and even being in the 22nd floor you could hear the street noise and the music from the bar across the street at night.
