It’s an uncommon review where you almost run out of superlatives
But in the case of Masana Algarve, the setting is a nice quiet neighborhood away from the somewhat congested center of town and yet within walking distance of some nice grocery shops and little bistros. It’s just a quiet away from the bustle place.
Your experience starts, as in our case, when our great very nice receptionist walked us to where our room was and went over all the features very carefully in detail, but what was stunning were the views! Everywhere you looked, between the ocean and the beautiful pool and the lovely grounds They were eye fetching in every direction and while their beach is a bit fickle due to the tides, just a short walk and you find a nice long beach to walk in the mornings where you can see you what was affected by the overnight tides, but are well insulated from them.
Their main restaurant, while a bit pricey, has excellent food and wonderful service but the real secret is a small restaurant that’s located just by the pool which serves throughout the day. I had an excellent omelette and my wife had an excellent snack to tide us over till dinner
We found walking the local streets to get downtown to be quite easy nice wide sidewalks good directions in the view of the Tunnel beach in the areas around it were stunning
But the pearl of the trip was the Masana Algarve itself, friendly staff, lovely settings and a picture perfect room. We also had a unique washer dryer combination that

This property was amazing. Not only was it self catering but also we had someone clean every day after us. If we wanted to use the restaurant we could however on one night we just decided just to chill and it was great having options of a fridge, and oven.
The stop couldn’t be more helpful even if they tried, they’ve been to have a backwards every opportunity they could. To be fair we loved the property we loved the pool. We loved the heat. We loved the view but it was definitely the staff that made it for us.
Can’t wait to come back when the spa opens in March 2026

I went on a girls trip to Albufeira and we stayed at Masana Algarve. First of all, the property is absolutely stunning, so peaceful and relaxing. Our very modern villa included everything we needed and more and was beautifully decorated and clean - it felt like we were on a retreat. There are beautiful nature trails to the beach and amazing views from the grounds. The staff were exceptional! At the front desk (Margarida and Rui) greeted us with a warm welcome and made us feel right at home and the service team at the restaurant and bar (Paulo, Miguel and Andre) made every meal enjoyable and we will not forget their kindness. The hotel manager, Antonio made sure we were taken care of for my birthday celebration and went above and beyond to accommodate us. I cannot say enough good things about Masana. If you are traveling to the Algarve, you must stay here.

What a beautiful resort! The morning breakfast was delicious with a lot of food (pastries, meat and cheese board, bowl of fruit plus you can order off their menu….omelette, pancake, avocado toast). The servers are very attentive and also quite entertaining. We looked forward to seeing them each and every morning. The restaurant for dinner is also quite good too. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the pool is quite large. Both the pool and breakfast area overlook the ocean. There are stairs leading down to a private beach that you can explore. No beach chairs buts the views and backdrop are well worth a trek down the stairs.
Only negative was the parking. We rented a MG and it barely fit in the parking space. Most cars took up one and a quarter of another space. Not a big deal for us because the resort wasn’t full but it will be during the busy season.

We enjoyed the walks on the beach and the close proximity to restaurants. We used this location as our central point for exploring the Algarve region. We had a pleasant stay at this resort last week and our experience was exceptional. The rooms were spacious, very well designed, modern with direct access to an outdoor patio area, access to the pool and less than five minutes walk to the beach.
The room offered a self-catering service and we made full use of the space available. The most beautiful thing was the open plan kitchen, which allowed us to be in the same space while cooking.

Not safe.
Within 10 minutes of arriving I fell down the second flight of stairs leading to the bedroom and sustained a nasty injury to my head, knee and hand. There was no handrail which could have prevented my fall. I reported my injury to the receptionist who gave me ice and the number of a taxi if I needed to go to a hospital. She said she would report my injury to the manager and my concern regarding a lack of handrail.
I stayed 8 nights and no one from the company contacted me to see how I was or to investigate the accident.
I subsequently found out that in July a guest had pointed out the lack of a handrail and that the stairs were dangerous and that the manager had confirmed that the issue had been addressed. This is not true and very misleading.
We booked a room with a seaview and were given a room with a view of another apartment. The receptionist asked for proof we had booked a seaview which was somewhat insulting as all rooms on this site when we booked and anytime I have checked since are described as having sea views. We were transferred to a room at 7pm the following day which had a partial sea view. We were obviously very low priority.
Towels were changed after two days and nothing thereafter and the bins were not emptied. We should not have to ask for basic service.
As previous guest has pointed out the balconies are not safe for young children and in general the apartment is not safe until handrails are put in on all the stairs.

We had the best holiday staying at Villa D'Agua Beachfront resort, from the moment we got into our apartment we were really impressed with the space. Beautiful interior with all the amenities needed, the most gorgeous decking area with sea view and pool view. The gardens and pool area were lovely, great swimming pool for children too. Very quiet and relaxing. Lots of lovely rockpools and caves to explore down on the front steps to the beach too.
Reception staff were great in answering questions, the pool bar was unfortunately closed but next year they plan to have a bar and resturant area.
Surrounding area was really lovely, two great beaches within a ten minute walk and so many great restaurants too. No need for car rental unless you want to explore surrounding areas. We did have a few days trips to Lagos and surrounding beaching with was great when the weather was overcast. A very relaxing holiday with plenty of lovely walks and places to eat. We will definitely be back!

Two negatives were communication around food/bar... We were told a few different times that they had a pool bar open, even when we checked in. Nonetheless it never was, and when we asked other stay they said \"they did not know'. Ultimately, that did not matter as the location of rooms to the pool were extremely close.
2nd point was having a room cleaned every 3 days (we were there for 8 nights). We were happy with that and no complaints other than our rooms was only cleaned the first time after 3 days, never again. Honestly, we didn't care, just again, some poor communication, or false expectations. Realistically, I have recommended this hotel already to other friends, brought more family and we all would travel there again.

Staff went above and beyond to accommodate my girlfriend and me. Gave my long distance girlfriend and I a special charcuterie and bottle of wine since I told them I haven’t seen her in a long time. Great place for couples to stay with amazing location on the water in a cute town. There’s a nice supermarket near by to stock up the room with. Receptionist was amazing and made the stay some much more enjoyable. If you’re think about it or are hesitant trust me and stay here. Go on the sunset cruise out of albufeira harbor for a private barbecue on the beach and close up view of all the most famous caves.

Kitchens are not fully equipped. No paper towels, no ice cube trays and they act annoyed when you request any ice to the room. Coffee was never refreshed when cleaning crew came through. no daily turnovers (not the end of the world) but every 3 days?? only giving each person 1 towel per person for 3 days. drains were never cleaned out before our stay so first showers overflowed into the bathroom. one shower constantly flooded bathroom floor even after drain was cleaned of TONs of hair from previous guests.
No room service, no food or snacks anywhere onsite. the \"pool bar\" was the saddest of all (there was barely even anyone there if you did want something). pool was beautiful though.
