This was such a great location, easy beach access, lovely pool, great Pilates and yoga classes, full and filling breakfast and easy walk to various dining and shopping options.

Splendid view from the hotel grounds and pool. You can see the beach and the cliffs. Extremely beautiful sunrise and sunsets. We did not try the food at the hotel because we walked to the restaurants in town. There is plenty of free parking around the hotel but inside the gated area is limited. The hotel is a 12 minute drive from the center of Albufeira if you want more dining and club options.

Honest review…….,The hotel itself is very good and the staff are excellent. The views are lovely. The breakfasts are superb with a huge variety. You can also use the hotel next door (Falesia Blue Ocean) which has recently been refurbed and looks fantastic. The hotel has very close beach access via external steps down which take you right to the beach. However if you have mobility issues then this can be problematic as there is no lift. The design of the steps has been sympathetically designed with benches here and there for people to take a breather.
The spa is not really a spa in my opinion. They do have treatment rooms but the spa itself is a very small outdated, rather stale smelling room with a small indoor pool and jacuzzi. There is a separate steam room and sauna you can pay to use but we didn’t bother as they looked so old and in need of some TLC.
The food at this hotel is excellent, in particular the a la carte restaurant. A little pricey if you aren’t on a board basis. Lovely quality though. Again drinks are pricey but so are most hotels these days. The entertainment was rather poor but maybe that’s just the time of year.
Other than that, it really was a lovely holiday and if we did return we would want to be on the 5th floor again with views of the pool and ocean. The view really is stunning.

Overall we had a positive experience. The hotel is dated and needs updating (which is apparently happening this fall). The rooms are all carpeted which is notoriously difficult to clean. That being said, the beds were comfortable. Everything is spotless, they are always cleaning and house keeping was excellent.
The breakfast was great, nice to have it included. Waitstaff is almost too attentive, constantly coming by to clear your plates. We had the dinner buffet two nights and I was not impressed. Options were limited and I felt there were better options outside the resort. Granted walking to local restaurants isn’t ideal for those with mobility issues (hills, uneven terrain), but the food was great and reasonably priced.
The bjggest letdown about Portugal as a whole? The beaches are amazing but the water is absolutely freezing! I am not exaggerating when I say it can’t be above 60 degrees. Sadly we couldn’t even enjoy the water because it was unbearable.

Great location! Beautiful beach right down the steps. Loved the quiet atmosphere of the pool area. Many places to relax. We had a car, so drove to see the coast, from Sagres to Tavira. Stopped at many towns along the way. You must visit Praia do Rocha, Tavira, Sagres, Salema. Spent one day golfing at Sagados. From the course you can see the beach and boardwalk of Salgados.
Porto Bay Hotel had lots of free parking, lovely breakfast and dinner at Basilico. We did not do the buffet dinner during our 6 night stay. Walked up the street a few times. Lots of places to eat.

This hotel is amazing in every way. The location to the beach is stunning a short walk away and then into Olhos de Agua village five minutes away with a really good choice of restaurants. Was here end of May and was just the hotel I wanted: quiet, clean but with pool and beach access.
The beach was a bit of a trek down a lot of stairs, but well worth it. Try and find the Olhos d'Agua at low tide.
Food is ok, but there are decent alternatives in the nearby town..
Definitely recommended for a chill break, but with easy taxi ride to the nightlife of Albufeira.

We had a wonderful 8 night stay - no complaints whatsoever. Room was great and the staff very friendly! This was our first trip to Portugal and we’re so happy we chose this hotel. The landscaping, the pool, the various places to relax, I could go on and on. Highly recommend!

A nice hotel but the majority of other guests were German so it’s not an easy place to socialise due to language barrier. The staff were mixed. Some were superbly helpful but many were rude and cold. The food is good but drinks are outrageously expensive at more than double prices from local bars. The place is a little dated and tired. Pool not always clean and activities are expensive too. Porto Bay Falesia is a beautiful property is a great location for accessing various areas of The Algarve. Our stay involved only one issue (Rm 296) with a leak from the A/C which was a fall risk concern. Maintenance staff quickly assessed and left, and we were offered another room but it was 8 pm and weren't prepared to relocate at that time. The carpet was dry the next day but didn't allow us to turn on the A/C. Otherwise, the stay was perfect!

If your after a quiet relaxing stay , its not bad with relatively good facilties. The rooms are better than average but we did have a few ants running around the bed which is not good. Unfortunetely there is very limited places to eat locally. We felt 29 euros per buffet evening meal per person at the hotel a little too expensive, had it been slightly cheaper we would of eaten at hotel a few evenings. The complex is situated between vilamora and albufiera , where all the trips and restaurants are situated. Its best to book an uber taxi to these places as buses are limited service. We enjoyed our stay, used gym, sauna , pool and pool area daily so no complaints but this hotel is more for the 45 to 75 year old range . It is a very quiet relaxed hotel.

This hotel is amazing! Breakfast has a bid variety in food including for kids. Dinner is also delicious and a huge space for dining. If you decide to just stay in the hotel, you will love it but you will need a car to get around but the area is calm and the sound of the ocean is really breathtaking. Just returned from a lovely week at Porto Bay, our first time since pre covid. A wonderful relaxing holiday with great friendly staff and good food. If anything the food in the Italian restaurant had got even better and we ate there twice.

Check in was smooth and everything was nice enough but just under our expectations. We travelled with our 4 month old, so had to rely on room service which had a very limited menu. The rooms are fine, a bit dated and could use an upgrade, everything creaked, the doors, the balcony sliding door, the bed, toilet seats. A couple of incidents that put me off. 1. We were sat at the bar during happy hour and asked what time buffet was, the staff didn't seem to know, one said 7pm, another said 6pm. So we went over to the restaurant, the manager saw us coming and immediately locked the doors and went back to his rostrum without a single word, eventhough he could clearly see us trying to get in and looking puzzled. Didn't bother clarifying that the restaurant isn't open yet. 2. We had asked for to change our room to a sea view, when I asked if they had any available, the concierge clearly lied and said they were fully booked, and then said their not sure how many are checking out tomorrow, anyway after persisting and speaking to the manager, we were finally given a room and there were clearly many rooms available. Those two experiences have put me off ever going back unfortunately.

Property very expensive for accommodations. Food was subpar and hotel in of an update. Curtains broken in our room, smelled musty, worn out carpet everywhere. Beautiful property, convenient location for exploring the Algarve, wonderful staff and really nice dining options. Highlights are access to the beach, live music in the bar every night, super comfortable beds and a nice little balcony for stepping out for some fresh air directly from your room. Based on all the lovely outdoor furniture and swimming pools, it would be a fantastic place for group gatherings. There are a few hidden decks filled with cozy seating for those who want a chill hangout to enjoy the amazing scenery. Definitely recommend this hotel and would love to return.

We loved this property for so many reasons. The grounds are beautiful and this hotel is located right by the most beautiful beach we encountered on our trip. The breakfast buffet was delicious with many options, even gluten-free choices for my husband. The room was spacious and the soaps and shampoos were luxurious. Our one complaint about our room was that the air conditioner was running non-stop and was set to the coolest temperature but we found it barely cool enough. Other than that, staying at this hotel was one of the highlights of our 2 week trip to Portugal. We enjoyed exploring the beaches nearby, the many options for dining within walking distance and spending time relaxing at the pool or on the nearly beach.
