My overall impression of our stay at this hotel is mixed. On the positive side, I appreciated the setting, the cleanliness, and the spaciousness of the aparthotel.

However, several issues affected our comfort. We stayed from January 4 to January 12, 2026. At the beginning of our stay, we were assigned an apartment on the ground floor. After three nights, we requested a room change because the beds were extremely soft and uncomfortable. We were then relocated to an apartment on the second floor.

One of the main concerns I would like to highlight is the ventilation in the apartment. There was a significant humidity problem in the bathroom, despite the presence of windows. The floor and walls remained wet for a long time after use, and I nearly slipped one night while going to the bathroom.

Additionally, the view from the bedroom overlooked the garbage bins at the back of the building (see attached photos), which was disappointing.

Finally, at check-out, no one asked us for feedback about our stay, which felt unprofessional. I am therefore using this survey to bring these issues to management’s attention, in the hope that improvements can be made.

I understand sports teams are probably a profit machine for this hotel but if parents are not going to control 20 8 and under children from running around the buffet touching all the food staff should intervene These few kids made 100 others miserable. Would not stay here again

Didnt realise needed cap for indoor pool.
Parking was quite busy off season in November so cant imagine what it woukd be like in the summer!

Easy walk to beach, about 15-20 min walk to stretch with restaurants and bars. About 1 hour walk to Albufeira itself.

Very nice clean modern apartment, the staffs are all very helpful and friendly, amazing service, welcome drinks, my kids got given a colouring book, the hotel has a kids club , washer dryer in the apartment was a plus point , Loccitane 's toiletries. Heated jacuzzi and outdoor pool which kids have access to from 8-10am is a bonus but would be nicer if could extend until 11am :). Would definitely come back again, we have stayed at quite a number of 5 stars hotels, but this one by far has the best customer service.

Great hotel with access to multiple swimming pools at the sister hotels. We visited with 7 and 10 year olds who spent most days in the water. There was no mad rush for sun loungers as only a few guests broke the 'no reserving' rule (we visited end of June).
Alfagar is a bit outside the resort of Albufeira. Not a walk you'd want to do in the heat.
We stayed in the Prestige and found the rooms clean and modern. The sofa converts into two single beds with thin mattresses. The master is two single beds so plenty of room.
Our only issue was the lack of dining options for our child with food allergies. Before we booked we contacted the hotel who said it wouldn't be a problem. The reality was that her only options were chips with grilled chicken or beef so we ate in a lot.

This property was lovely. The grounds and the many pool areas were kept immaculate.
The apartments were large as were the outside terraces. The decor is a bit outdated but everything is kept so clean and it was a pleasure to stay . Of note, the Alfagar Aparthotel does supply soap and shampoo but does not provide body cream or toothpaste so you will want to bring your own .
All The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Would recommend the alfagar Aparthotel for families and mid - senior aged people.

Property was beautifully groomed and clean with lush gardens.Many pools although outdoor were not heated and very cold but kids were enjoying, especially the water slides. Rooms were spacious and kitchen was well stocked. Views of the beach were amazing. Several restaurants and bars. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Walking distance to grocery stores and restaurants. Also has a tennis court and soccer field. Really nice place, family oriented.

Alfagar hotel was okay… nothing special tbh. Sorry but we wouldn’t go back.

The beach was quite far, the walk back uphill probably too much for older folks.

Annoyingly the TV was intentionally blocked from accessing Netflix or Prime, and the USB was also disabled so we couldn’t even connect the laptop to the TV.

We didn’t use the sofa, it had a terrible smell (maybe previous occupant was incontinent).

The buffet breakfast was okay but repetitive. Virtually the same every day.

On the plus side, the apartment kitchen was good and the onsite restaurants were excellent. Also, lots of good nearby restaurants if you have a car or happy to use Uber / taxis.

Stunning property and rooms were spacious and clean. Only issue we encountered was our room was directly above the parking garage and the automatic door is VERY loud. It would be going up and down until usually 2am. Otherwise wonderful stay! Outdoor pools are not heated so curb season is definitely cold water. This is to be expected however. There are 2 indoor pools (one requires a swim cap) and they are spacious and sufficed for the kids. Gym was decent- need to bring your own water and towel. They also charge for pool towels so make sure you bring your own. Overall we would stay here again!!

My wife and I extended a 1 week stay to 3 week stay due to the comfort this Alfagar ApartHotel offers. We chose the Prestige level that offered beautiful views over the Resort and out to the Sea. It was bliss with the generous 20’ Sun Deck with sunshine all day. The higher the floor the better the view and the more it costs for the pleasure. Great free WiFi. We are a retired couple enjoying our 50th Anniversary year and this Hotel made it fantastic. Great location for basing over a long stay to visit Loule, Vilamoura, various beaches etc, however we were not needing the busier nearby centre of Albufeira, only for a weekly grocery shopping at the modern central three level Mall…great place on top Terrace to enjoy a Latte at Food Court, and huge grocery selection on two Floors. To top our visit off the user friendly Maid services kept our 1 bedroom apartment fresh with Linen and Towels with bright smiles. We thank the Management Team with leaving us a bottle of Champagne and Happy 50th Card that was a lovely surprise. Thank you to all the Staff who were very helpful! This time in November brought us beautiful sunny temps in low 20’s. The Off Season lower hotel rates are needed for us Senior aged. Brilliant thank you!

After previously having stayed in a hotel down the road in which also was a four star hotel and paid a similar price for, alfagar Aparthotel was a disappointment. The room and food were extremely dissatisfactory. We stayed two nights, although I requested our room be cleaned, no beds were made, towels were not replaced and bins overflowed that attracted fruit flies and a smell. Our first day at the hotel we decided to dine in for breakfast. Breakfast was not fresh, very limited choice and fruit flies. We left after two bites and felt sick. We raised a complaint to the hospitality team and he offered a free drink at the bar to compensate for this but we don’t drink so offered one hour free use of tennis court which normally costs 15 euros and we paid 25 euros for breakfast. I was really unhappy to end my trip like this after staying at two hotels that were just wonderful and was really excited to stay at alfagar because of its facilities - private beach, pools. Nice scenery which was the only positive of this hotel to be honest but the main attraction the room was not.

The Prestige Apartment Hotel units where we stayed are Ideal for Senior’s and Retiree’s the comfort, beautiful Sea views from the large sunny terraces, and easy short walk to restaurants. We were staying in apartment 107 on ground floor which had the pool tables just outside our balcony and found this to be a problem as the people using the table used the wall around balcony to put all their belongings on ,we had to keep curtains pulled most of the day and were unable to sunbath comfortably.
Otherwise we had a great holiday and really enjoyed the hotel and staff were very helpful would stay again

Family stay for Xmas. Stayed in Prestige, ground floor, 1 bedroom. Got two rooms next to each other. Room perfect however pillows very uncomfortable - too high /chunky. Couch also seen better days for kids.
Breakfast fine however, got bored of it after 3 days as too same same.
Very disappointed that they never done anything or offered anything for Xmas.
Dined at Buganville restaurant 5 days out of the 8 and thoroughly recommend this restaurant and the food.
Overall, resort is lovely. Only key down by poor pillows and couch and nothing for Xmas

The unit was okay except for the ants all over the apartment and the fact that I told the reception three times and the housekeepers once that the unit had ants. I even showed the housekeeper all the ants I killed myself and swept up. They did nothing about it. They did come fix the broken balcony doors quickly. The bed was not comfortable. When I arrived, the couch was filthy, but I pointed out the large stains to the housekeeper to explain why I had covered the couch with the extra blanket before I sat on it, and when I came back the stains were gone. But the absolute worst thing about this place was the wifi. IT SUCKED! I could not believe how slow it was and then it kept disconnecting every few minutes. I couldn't even upload files for work. When I called, they admitted it is very slow and disconnects and \"that's how it is.\" As IF that makes it acceptable. It's bottom of the barrel awful. If you're a digital nomad or if wifi is important to you, avoid this place at all costs. It will frustrate you to no end.

This property was amazing! The size of the apartment was perfect with a nice big balcony as well. The surrounding property is also very nice with access to the water although it’s a pretty good hike. Great location just outside Albufeira. The kitchen was fully equipped. Would highly recommend! We would go back for sure!

More of a family resort with lots of kids activities. Large property. Many choices of pools and walk to beautiful beach down staircase. Bring a pool towel or hotel will provide one for a fee. We walked up to local store and bought one for €10. Need to bring dish soap and cloth or have to purchase them. Overall great stay in a beautiful spot.

From start to finish communication was great (from emails to hotel and getting replies as regards transfers bus , iron , ironing board etc )
Got to the hotel and it was immaculate ( we stayed in the Alfagar Aparthotel section in the prestige area ) Pool around this area was also immaculate and non of this business of people rushing down to put towels on the bed , even at 09.30am . The whole hotel is like a little village with cobbled streets and a few restaurants on , Overall great stay with the family and wouldn’t hesitate to go back there . 😎👍👍

Great stay. The resort was really lovely and a short stroll down to the beach.
The breakfast area was a bit chaotic at times with lots of very noisy children. It would be a good idea to have a separate area for couples to be able to enjoy a quiet breakfast as the setting was lovy.

My Overall experience was mixed. There are some positives and negatives. First let me point out the positives. The apartment was clean with nice views outside. At the site there are facilities of gym, pool and restaurant. Beach is also not very far from the hotel. Staff was very helpful, polite and welcoming. Cleanliness was also very good. On the downside, i wasnt happy with the room amenties. There is no dishwasher in the kitchen, central heating wasn't functional and i had to complain 2 to 3 times to the reception. There is also lot of noise from neighbouring rooms which is not pleasant. Sofa bed was of very low quality with spings coming out of it. Hair dresser was not functional in the bathroom. It seems the room was only cleaned but not maintained well. Bathroom sink drainage was very poor. I highly recommend Alfagar hotel management to focus on maintenence, not just cleaning.

Apartment was well equipped, clean, spacious, really wonderful.However, cleaning ladies seemed rushed and did not properly clean the bathroom (they did not even wipe the under seat part of the toilet on their daily cleaning...I know because I looked before leaving the room and there was urine stains/splashes, and when we returned after they cleaned, it looked exactly the same).That made me quite upset. They also forgot to replace the kitchen towel (we were cooking and have kids, so that was important and they knew that), I had to request it twice. That is the only disappointing part as the property was absolutely amazing and we´d stay there again. They also MUST remove those shower curtains as that is not anywhere a 4-star feature.

We were in the new Alfagar Premium which is not the building in the accompanying picture. Our apartment was well-appointed and a totally pleasing place to stay for three weeks. It is well up to the high standards of the entire Alfagar complex.

The only thing we missed were loungers for the spacious balcony. They have been supplied everywhere else we have stayed at Alfagar, which we consider to be the gem of the Algarve.

Great relaxing stay

Absolutey amazing hotel/apartment . The staff were incredible fantastic. Short walk to the beach, amazing views, apartment very spacious with lovely garden view. No faults from us. Less than 40 minutes drive to airport, great location wiyh loads of shops and amneties in walkjng distance .

Great location, very clean and spacious room. Unfortunately it was cold outside (late November) and we couldn’t enjoy the outdoor pools which leaves me wanting to come back in the warmer season!

Stayed here in Oct with our 10yr and 6yr olds in the prestige block (there are two blocks in the complex). Spotlessly clean all around. Well maintained garden and facilities. Prestige rooms were spacious, well equipped for self catering, modern furnishings and had quite the ‘wow factor’. Reception desk very friendly and helpful. We didn’t use the restaurants as ate out in albufeira and Vilamoura. On site mini market bit pricey as is often the case but we took a 5 min cab journey (15min walk) to the Intermarche (head in Faro direction, can’t miss it). Cab was 5euro and the supermarket customer service desk ordered the return one. Kids loved all the pools and we walked to the beach everyday in the afternoon which is stunning. Nice beach bar there too (just set back on the promenade) for drinks snd food with a view. Overall we would 100% recommend Alfagar Aparthotel and will def be back.

The view was stunning and functionality of the apartment was good.
Good selection of breakfast.
I didn’t liked the bathrooms , no ventilation. tv very old for a 4 star hotel. Would prefer a smart tv.
Staff was was nice.

Great pools!

It's a really nice hotel, family friendly with a nice pool. The beach isn't too far. My only problem was breakfast. It's €10 and it's ridiculously busy.
