What we didn't like is the condition of the rooms, very dated and old, the tv was 20 inches (laughable), they allow smoking in all the common areas (terrible). Although the hotel has it's pluses I would not return here nor reccommend this hotel.

Stayed 31th December to 5th January. All staff lovely people, easy check in hotel spotless clean. Bar prices are good food very good 15 minutes to the beach . Nice restaurants and bars near by. Indoor pool good for cloudy days also spa is good too. Rooms spacious and clean. Nice hotel would recommend . New Years Eve was fantastic at the beach old town . Read up on New Year’s Eve Albuerfiera and you will see what I mean .

Did not like that you have to pay to use a safe in the room,it’s a 4 star hotel in my opinion using safe should be free of charge.
We have stayed 2 weeks, same breakfast every day 🙁

OK hotel; room for improvement

Hotel is nice enough, but experience could be greatly improved. Slow to check-in (crazy this still takes so long now and manual these days). Very slow to cancel pre-authorisation (funds held) for safety deposit. Evening staff did not deal with reported noise and disturbance issues at the hotel.

The facility had leaking A/C in the hallway the entire time we stayed - 2 separate locations in 30 yards and their solution was to place a small towel on the spot -- eventually the towel was saturated and water was everywhere.

Food was mediocre at best -- Golden Coral is two steps above their buffet.

The support staff clearly is used to complaining guests - because the front desk talked to me about several other complaining guests.

Overall, I would qualify this location as a Pig with Lipstick. Beautiful building from 50 yards.

I cannot fault the hotel. We stayed from 03/05/19 to 06/05/19. For the price we paid I couldn't have asked for more. The pool was clean and the food and drink was of a high standard. If the opportunity presents itself I would return here with my family.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back. When we arrived we were first put into a room that was a bit noisy as there was a motor outside, however the following day when speaking to the assistant manager we were promptly moved to another room with a pool view and was fantastic. The staff were all really friendly, the food was great and entertainment good also. Overall highly recommended!

The hotel is listed as 4 stars, but I will only give 3 stars. The room was larger than we thought. The staff could have been more friendlier. We went from England to Portugal to have Portuguese food, but we had breakfast on 4 days at the hotel and the only option was English Breakfast. Why we go to Portugal to have only English Breakfast as a option???? For Lunch and Dinner had a little variety, but all the food tasted the same. I end up eating only fruits on the last day because I was so fed up.

The pool is smaller for the number of rooms. The entertainment team done a great job to keep everyone happy and they are the only ones had happy faces. 5 stars for them. They were in from early morning till late night and they have done a fantastic job. Other staff in the hotel rarely had happy faces and it clearly shown they were not happy with their jobs.

Perfect location, lovely staff and amazing food!

This hotel was in a perfect location - about 5 minute walk to the strip and 15 minute walk to the beach. The hotel staff were lovely. Room was cleaned everyday - we stayed in a suite for 3 people and it was a very good size and it looked exactly like the photos on the website. The food at the hotel was amazing - lots of selection and there were different choices every day. The mojitos in the all inclusive drinks were our favourite. Great hotel and would definitely recommend.

Nice hotel in great location. My room waaca great size and balcony was huge. The food was nice as we were all inclusive we are mainly at hotel. I was able to relax. It was busy and mixed with families , couples no large groups which was great. The entertainment team made the holiday all worked so hard and got to know everyone's names and got us all involved In activities, shows were great to. I would definatley reccomend had a great week and we will hopefully be returning next year ;) x

arrived late at night so ate out first night loads of places just yards from hotel the dining room had loads of foid on offer for everyone the drinks are all in small cups only 1 bar person most time so long queue for small glass of beer or wine very hard to get a sun lounger you are able to hire a towel and when you return it you get your money back can be changed once a day rooms cleaned daily but towels only changed twice weekly brilliant entertainment through till near mid night free bus goes ti town every monday outside pool chilly but inside pool grand brilliant hotel with very friendly staff around 30 minutes from faro but dont use greenbus we waited 2 hours at airport then they sent us by uber

My daughter had come to the hotel last year and recommended it to us and we wasn't disappointed the food was great, my grandson loved the pool although it was a bit cold, the weather was extremely hot but was made enjoyable by the breeze, my only moan was the reception staff were not very helpful and could be rude, the rest of the staff ie the entertainment team and the restaurant staff were brilliant

Beautiful hotel, clean, great location & foos

Went with 2 friends (25-32yrs old). Wonderful hotel, can walk to the strip or beach or shops but when you are at the hotel its lovely and peaceful. Food was always fresh, varied with plenty of choice. The staff ALWAYS make sure they go above and beyond. The entertainment team were great - friendly but not in your face. Was lovely to see their interaction with the children especially those with disabilities - they were so caring. Would 100% go back here with friends again or family.

Family of 4 with 17 and 11 year old. Room was very good with separate bedroom living area and kitchen all modern the only area that needs a bit of upgrading is the bathroom it's a bit tired looking and I really dislike shower curtains. Food was good a bit repetitive but always something to eat kids section could have been better. Bar area was not big enough to accommodate the very busy hotel so we often found ourselves sitting outside at night. evening entertainment was terrible we struggled to find a night we enjoyed. Pool was good always found somewhere to sit we had bad weather so it was great to have the indoor pool and jacuzzi. Animation staff were really good at there jobs and always so friendly. Most staff members were very nice and friendly.

Amazing! Would definitely stay again!

Amazing time at Albufeira Sol Hotel and Spa from start to finish! Stayed for a week with partner and wish we could have stayed longer! Arrived around 4pm in the afternoon and were immediately seen by reception staff who gave us our keys and our all inclusive bands. Room was lovely very clean and had a kettle, fridge and microwave also had a balcony which overlooked the pool and could sea the sea in the distance. Was surprised at how much choice there was for food and drink. Choice of wine, beer, sangria and spirits, also coffee, tea, hot chocolate and soft drinks which were available from the indoor bar and the poolside snack bar which also served sandwiches, burgers and ice cream. The food in the all inclusive buffet was outstanding! For breakfast there was choice of cereal, fruit, cooked breakfast, croissants, meat, cheese etc. with hot drinks and juice available. Lunch included plenty of choice, different salad choices, meats, potatoes and rice, with a variety of deserts. The evening meals were also lovely with plenty of choice for everyone, one evening there was even a Portuguese theme with traditional foods and dancers for entertainment! Entertainment in the day around the pool included many different activities for adults and children water polo was good fun! The entertainment team were very friendly! The evening entertainment was also varied, Parrot show, singers, karaoke. All inclusive finished at 11 but there is a bar next to hotel with karaoke and good atmosphere!

Algarve short break.

No problems to report at all.
This trip went as planned.
The hotel was great as was our room.
Meals were very good always with plenty of choice and the bar had loads to chose from.
Location was also pretty good as we could easily walk to the strip and back on a night.
The old town is a bit further but easy to get to via taxi.
I would have no problem booking this trip again.

Very disappointing Hotel

This hotel was described on the website as a recommended hotel. Its has got be said that this was a shocking overstatement and should not achieve a two star rating certainly not four!! Clever photography. None of the staff looked like they even enjoyed working there let alone staying there. The gym was charging 10 euro's per day, Ive never stayed in a hotel, especially an all inclusive where the cost of amenities is so high (If at all). The hotel was very dated, as was some of the entertainment (elvis nights and bingo).

We had seen some bad reviews about the hotel the week before we arrived, regarding the food and staff, so were a bit apprehensive, however we had a really lovely stay. The staff were very cheery and friendly and the food was great. The entertainment staff were brilliant aswell and always trying to involve everyone around the pool during the day and people around the stage at night. We loved playing water polo everyday!

Very pleasant & clean hotel. Staff very friendly & welcoming. The room we stayed in was a junior suite which was clean & well maintained & comfortable. The beach is roughly a 10 minutes walk from the hotel but the hotel provides a regular bus service which drops you to the beach/old town. Food was well prepared & tasty - we stayed on a all inclusive basis but did not always return for lunch at the hotel as we tended to venture further out from the area.

Lovely hotel and great holiday

The hotel is lovely. On arrival the man on reception was very warming and gave us a great welcoming. The room was very clean and spacious. All staff very helpful and always smiling. The food had lots of options and we are in the hotel every night. My only comment would be that the pool is very cold and there is no music around the pool area. Overall I think this is a lovely hotel and would definitely return.

YOU MUST ALSO PAY 35 EUROS FOR A SAFE FOR A WEEK AND 20 EUROS EACH FOR A TOWEL IF YOU WANT ONE. THE GYM IS NOT OPEN.... Pleasant stay with kids

Spent 5 days at the hotel with a 4 year old and 6 year old. Kids had a great time in the swimming pools. Kids club was not that great but the entertainment crew did a good job of keeping everyone happy. All inclusive food buffet and choice of drinks very good. As the only vegetarian in the family I fared well with all of the salads, veg, fruit, breads, cheeses etc on offer. All in all a nice break.

The reception staff are very helpful and got our holiday off to a good start. The rooms are basic and our room on the 3rd floor was in need of renovation. Each floor is serviced by a very slow, very small lift a hefty walk away from our room, not good with a baby and buggy. The food was very basic with little variety. On several occasions we decided to eat out rather than stay and eat the buffet. The small bar was always busy, understaffed and had a limited amount of choice. the staff worked hard through the hotel but we felt they had limited resources to work with. Not an unpleasant stay but not what I would consider a 4*. Taxis into the old town I would recommend, €5 each way.

Fantastic hotel. 7 minute approx walk to the beach and 5 mins to the strip.taxi to old town only costs 5 euro. Can't rate this hotel high enough. Staff so helpful and friendly. Hotel so clean. A very basic hotel with basic facilities.

Poor quality food on the all inclusive and such a small amount it lead to pushing matches at dinner!

Also failed to repay the 40 euros owed as a deposit to the towels due to the Hotel Spa not being open - we checked out on Monday at 7.30am and the Spa was closed on Sundays!

We booked our holiday just days before departure and had a fabulous time. Expedia as always a very efficient and easy to use site. Flights and airport meet and greet parking very smooth, slight hiccup with the prebooked taxi transfer as no one waiting with a named card as was on our paperwork - helpful man from another company pointed us to a desk where the lady informed us just one passenger was booked for the transfer but didn't grumble or try and charge more when I showed her it was for the three of us. Pleasant driver and nice roomy vehicle for our journey. Hotel lovely appearance, polite friendly check in and we were able to go straight to our room. Brilliant room, pool and sea view on the 5th (top) floor 520. Well furnished and recently decorated room. Paid extra for use of the in room safe. Suite had a lovely fitted kitchen which was pointless as an all inclusive hotel, nice to have a fridge though. Comfortable bed, TV has some English channels. Nice balcony and air conditioning if you need it. Pool I imagine is great in summer season when sun has warmed up a bit, large pool ranging from 1.2m - 3.3m so would of been a bonus to have been heated. Indoor pool accessible from terrace and is heated which is nice. Massage in the spa (paid extra for) was worth it. All inclusive drinks excellent, no complaints with beer, wine or soft drinks, good measure of rum too. Food, breakfast excellent, lunch and dinner - very good, choice can be a bit repetitive but all in all tasty
