Too many stags hens and parties, definitely not for a quiet relaxing holiday, traffic noise from road woke us up at 5.30 am, so was moved. staff were mostly really nice, not for people with walking difficulties, no wheelchair access available, has a lift straight into hotel for disabled, but when used it was told it’s not for guests to use, all they had to do was press a button in reception, so no would not go there again

Staff were all lovely and super helpful. Made us feel very welcome and at home. However on our second night our toilet broke and started flooding our bathroom. We rang reception about the problem and they said they would send someone to fix it the following day. That next evening the toilet broke again and when we called reception they then told us that no one had actually been sent to fix the toilet and that the cleaners just cleaned up the mess from the following day. For the majority of our trip we had to use the bathroom in reception which was 2 floors down. We also couldn’t even use the shower comfortably as there was toilet water all over the floor. The staff were lovely about the situation but I feel like we should have been allowed to move rooms because of this.

Nice little hotel in a good location for everything you need, there’s a couple of local pubs and supermarkets nearby but then you have the strip (10 min walk) and the old town (25 min walk) not to far away, you can get a taxi or a tuk-tuk and be there in mins. The pool was good with loads of beds and a snack bar for the usual things and alcoholic drinks. The rooms were decent enough although ours looked out onto a busy roundabout. I would happily stay here again if I travelled to Albufeira.

Lovely complex with a good location. Situated a 5 min walk from the main strip and 15 minutes from the beach. Really nice pool area and lovely reception staff, particularly Flavia. Apartment is basic but clean. It has limited self catering supplies but manageable. Only difficulty was cleaning pots etc but otherwise perfect. Would definitely stay again!

One night stay only as we had a meal with friends and we live quite a distance from the restaurant. We chose this hotel based on the distance from the restaurant and reviews. Check in was very good all the usual COVID-19 precautions. Everything was spotlessly clean so much so that I slipped on the stairs and fractured my arm. I should have used the lift. The apartment was perfect with everything one needed. Bed was extremely comfortable and plenty of space. Very clean throughout. Very quiet room so no disturbance from road noise. We were informed that there would be no one there when we came back later in the evening and we were shown how to use the secure entry . We were a little disappointed next morning though as we had to check out early to go to the hospital and there was no one there until 9:00 am. They did return our phone call though so we were able to tell them we had left the card keys in the room. We were not able to report my accident though which we would like to have done. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again. Didn’t use the pool but it looked lovely and clean and well kept

The apartments are situated in a very good location, it can be seen from the main road so its easy to find. The pool area is nice and well maintained. Sunbeds were sprayed down after people left them and so were pool bar tables etc. For just €4 you can get a taxi to Ol Town where there are bars and restaurants galore. Loads of shops and stalls open till late and lots of music and good ambience. If you follow the road down to your left you get to one of the many beaches where there are also good restaurants and bars for a good meal or just a beach snack. The rooms are a little dated but has all the amenities you need in an apartment. I would definitely use this hotel again

Hotel very dirty even after cleaning been done.fridge had dried blood on ice tray in the fridge when i showed the reception there words were \" ok : nothing else shower when I put it on it would bonce back around. I took phots of the how dirty things were after they were supposed to have cleaned.

The floor was filthy. The room was extremely cold. It had a heater but it did not work very well. The bed was cold and damp. I brought my own bedding with me and used that as the bed itself was so damp. Several things in the place needed to be repaired. Not sure why people gave this place such great reviews.

Good location for the Strip and not too far from Old Town - a nice 20 minute walk. Great supermarket across a busy roundabout. However we had a duplex apartment and it advertised a double sofa bed downstairs and three single beds upstairs. There were only 2 single beds. When I spoke to reception they said it was a room for 4. But on Expedia printout I had it clearly said 3 single beds upstairs. The hotel said it was Expedia’s fault. They did put a small camp bed in for us which was fine as I am short but it wouldn’t suit a bigger person. We did travel as 4 adults but if you pulled the bed out from the sofa it took up the whole floor. There were 2 bathrooms which wasn’t advertised so that was good although the upstairs shower was poor so we all used just the one anyway. Lovely reception area though very quiet. Pool area nice. Doesn’t merit 4* though.

Room comfortable and has excellent facilities for a break of 7/10 days.The fridge/food prep facilities are limited but given the abundance of restaurants nearby & the close location of a large supermarket , not a major problem. This is our 2nd visit to Ourabay and fully intend to return next year.

the apartment was clean however, the room is not designed to hold more than three guests comfortably but states 5 adults. There is a bar service until midnight but no bar staff you have to rely on reception staff late evening.
On the upside the outdoor pool was spacious and clean. The apartment is well situated for either access to the old town or the strip.

Booked with Expedia told last room available had 6 beds only needed 3 (wanted beds not sofa beds), but on arrival given room 254 with 2 single beds and sofa bed (sofa bed makes 2 singles not a double) Spoke to Hotel Staff who showed me booking and could see what we had booked but said it was down as a request (Expedia fault??) and would not change it not even to 3 beds, not happy but did not let it spoil our holiday. Anything else we asked the staff for they provided, they were excellent came to clean regularly if we asked for anything, extra towels etc it was provided quickly and with a smile.

Our trip was in February. The temperature during the day was around 19degr. The temperature in our room at night was freezing. There was no heating or warm water for a shower or shave in the morning. I complained to the manager. Nothing was done about the heating. The water was sorted after 2 days. There was no health & safety. My wife slipped in the bath/shower and hit her head on the corner of the marble sink. She needed medical attention but the manager did absolutely nothing except give me a band aid strip & a pair of scissors which she said I needed to return straight away. She didn't record the accident. When we were leaving my wife's eye was badly swollen and blackened with 2 cuts to her temple. The new manager was shocked and said they hadn't been informed. We are considering legal action.

Great holiday with everything on your door step. Lots to do with plenty of bars and places to eat. I would avoid the strip at the weekends if you have young children as there are lots of stags/hens

This hotel needs an upgrade ,we stayed in a duplex apt ,the beds were too hard the pillows too soft .the sofa bed in the lounge part was so uncomfortable we decided to use the patio chairs with our pillows on so we could have somewhere to sit that didn't give us back or neck ache.
We had 2 showers,1 ensuite and neither of them had enough hot water passed a trickle coming out .we ended up using the pool shower in a hotel we stayed at previously.we looked for staff to tell them but could never find anybody on reception whenever we went there so we gave up .
I would not advise anybody who has mobility problems to stay here as I use a walking stick and struggled to get up the steep ramp and stairs to the hotel.I would not stay here again

A lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff.. close to the strip with several bars and restaurants and a little train that takes you to the beach at old town which is beautiful. Use of the sister hotels indoor pool gym steam room and jaquazzi. Would go back here in a heartbeat.

The location was great. Close to supermarket and great car rental spot. However as I went with family the albufeira strip wasn't very appropriate for them so there wasn't much to do for the evening. We generally took a cab to old town which cost around 4 euros to get there and spent most of our evenings there. The strip can be really busy and lots of load music and alcohol!
The hotel room itself was ok in terms of it being clean but the sofa bed was terrible it was a single sofa bed with no pillow so had to borrow a friends. The showers were awful, the water wasn't being drained from the bath tub and was flooding while showering. We called several times to get it fixed and the receptionist was very rude. We also had no hot water for 4 days in a row. We went to reception many times and they always said they will fix it and they didn't.
However one of the receiptionsts called Natalja was probably the best receiptionst I've ever Met. She was always out to help and go the extra mile. (Unlike her colleagues).
The shower head kept falling off whilst showering and still nothing was done about it.

Pleasant stay
Very reasonably priced. Great location. The layout of our duplex apartment was nice. The condition of the shower in the en suite bathroom was awful, we couldn't use it but the bath and shower in the main bathroom was fine thankfully. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Pool area was lovely. All in all a good experience.

Stayed at the Ourabay hotel for 6 nights over the Easter holidays and the hotel was good.
The ups are: the studio room was spacious for 3 (couple and a child), facilities were good, basic cleaning was completed on a daily basis, reception staff was very helpful, location is good if you are driving (the closest beach is about a 25 minutes walk), there is a supermarket and bakery close by. The downs are: there is no enough onsite parking, no heated swimming pool (swimming pool and car park is shared with the Luna Oura Hotel) & you can hear noise from other rooms.

I cannot say enough about the marvellous service we were given by the entire staff at the Ourabay. They went above and beyond what we would have expected. We cannot say enough about how good they were to us. We will definitely be back again next year.

I read some reviews and was concerned about our stay but thought it was a bargain so worth a try. So glad I did because the hotel was great. In a very central location for bars beach etc, room very clean and comfy bed. Staff were great and customer service brilliant, so helpful!

Was the very beginning of the season so first few days quiet and renovations being carried out. Disappointed pool bar shut as had to go elsewhere for drinks etc. upon arrival we could have or room straight away at1pm and was changed to a room that had sunshine (literally) all afternoon until sunset on our balcony which was great if not a little noisy due to the roundabout. The rooms were tired but the bar area and lobby were a lot better. To be fair though a lot of Albufeira looked tired (lots of sights spoiled by mindless graffiti tagging- a real shame) and for the price we could not fault it, we also were offered late checkout as our flight wasn't until 6:40pm and this was at no charge. Every member of Staff on reception were incredibly friendly and helpful, a real credit to the hotel. We wished we could have stayed longer. It was quiet at the hotel until the last night and day we were there and to be honest we liked it like that. Supermarket straight across the street for all supplies and 5-10mins walk to the strip. 20 -25 mins walk to centre of albufeira and in the lovey weather we had this was no chore. Thanks for a great stay :-)

The hotels location is within easy reach of a local supermarket and within walking distance of several good restaurants. Its closer to the Strip than old town but both are within walking distance. It is close to a busy roundabout so please take care when crossing the road. The room itself was comfortable ,if slightly tired. We had a duplex apartment which meant 2 bathrooms and balconies on each floor.The upper balcony is ideal for private sunbathing as it cannot be overlooked.
The kitchen provides limited facilities having only a hob, microwave, kettle and toaster but given the local amenities it was more than sufficient for our morning cereal and toast.We also found that the fridge managed to keep our drinks nicely chilled but struggled to produce ice. Could be a problem in warm weather if hoping to store ice cream etc. I would also recommend buying a few mugs from the Continente Supermarket as I found the cups provided are not really suited to my morning cuppa. Will only cost one Euro so well worth the investment. If you are lucky you might get to use the one I left behind.The Internet connection is great and the TV allows access to a few film channels . As we are no longer at the clubbing stage we found this helped pass a relaxing evening after our meal out.All in all a very pleasant and relaxing stay and I would look forward to a return visit.

A good hotel for a long stay - with a kitchen area, dinner table, balcony.
We stayed only for 1 night, so I cannot say anything about the location - I think, it is not in downtown and rather far from beaches. Otherwise, it is clean and comfortable with a free garage in the basement.

Good hotel but needs some reno's. Door handle, cold water tap both fell off. No hot water in the kitchen. Bed was ok. Good size television. Kitchen facilities adequate. Located near the strip and the old town. Pretty quiet at night. Electronic safe was not free, which to me is a money-grab. Also, rent pool towels?!?

Very pleasant stay, nice hotel with wonderful staff. They were happy to help with any inquiries. Clean rooms, decor slightly dated. About half hour car ride away from Faro airport, best to book a private transfer instead of airport taxis. Difference was around Euro 15 each way with taxi. The room was very spacious with bacony overlooking the city. Beach was 15 min slow walk away. But note the walk includes hilly areas where the incline is quite steep. The local people were very kind and pleasant. Supermarket called Pingo doce over the road. Has everything we needed, including cheaply priced beer and water. Our room overlooked a busy roundabout and was quite noisy. The balcony door/window was double glazed so kept most of the noise out. On our last night there was a very noisy group who partied till 6am. We could hear everything and failed to sleep. So bear in mind the floors and walls will let in plenty of noise. Very annoying, especially since hotel staff didnt do anything to shut them up. Other than that it was a very very good hotel and great holiday overall.

Booking for the hotel next door !
I booked the Ourabay Hotel Apartments and when I arrived there I was told that I will be staying in the hotel next door called Luna Oura Hotel , so we went next door and they could not find our booking at first, the Ourabay is a 4* and the Luna is a 3*. The hotel was probably nice in the 80's but beds were hard , no kettle, and air con that sounded as if a motorway was outside. The snack / pool bar was ok apart from the very slow and forgetful service, rooms and bedding were clean ,we won't be back and it wasn't worth the £90 per night.

Really enjoyed my stay here, rooms were spacious & clean. Staff were very friendly. Can't speak to the pool area as my family were staying in a different hotel within a 5 minute walk & I hung out at their pool. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Shower curtain was too close and kept getting stuck to us. Needs bath mats in the bathroom. Hotel is close to local restaurants and amenities. Hotel pool was shared with another hotel which was disappointing. One lady with glasses on reception was exceptional always smiling and friendly.

Nice hotel as a base Spoilt by building work
Nice hotel as a base but not much going on. Pool area nice but next to a very busy road. When we were there didn't get much chance of relaxation because of the building work. We got woken every morning at 8,o'clock by the building work on the adjacent hotel which carried on throughout the day for the full week.
