3rd time weve been. Quiet hotel with no bar, but more than made up by location. Close to beach, close to local bars and restaurant, great pool. Nice walk to old town or strip.
Bathrooms and kitchen units would benefir from a refurbishment but well equipped, clean and sufficient

The pool area was no better. It was never cleaned during our stay, despite me asking a staff member who couldn’t confirm when it was last maintained. There were visible cracks around the pool, a ring of dirt in the water, litter everywhere, and dirty sun loungers. To make things worse, large groups of young men were drinking heavily all day by the pool, leaving beer bottles behind and shouting about their nights out — a serious safety concern and not family-friendly at all.

Great place to stay. We had two adults and two teens in one unit. Very spacious. Room is apartment style, the kids bedroom was separated by a hallway and bathroom so they had their own space and privacy. Great layout. Small Kitchener that was helpful. Nice balcony, beautiful pool area and literally a two minute walk to beautiful beach. Very happy with our choice to stay here. Not fancy, but clean and very practical.

When we arrived we were happy about the parking but things went down hill from there. Only once we paid for our two nights were we told that the air conditioning wasn’t working and someone was coming to fix it. I asked - today? He said no. I explained that it was 30 degrees out and we wouldn’t stay without air conditioning. A lady from the office came to the counter, I assume the manager and they agreed to give us another room. He stated that we were given an upgrade but once we got into the room there was definitely not an upgrade. The tub was either filthy dirty or stained either way I didn’t use it so went 2 days without a shower. The kitchen sink keep getting plugged. They don’t provide dishcloths or dish soap to wash the dishes or even a broom or dust pan so I could clean myself. I pack my own shampoo etc so didn’t care that those weren’t provided. Positive review - great balcony and pool, close to the beach and only a 5e (or 20 min) walk to the very fun and exciting square. My opinion- if they put a little elbow grease cleaning and providing the easy items they could easy be a 4 star.

We were early for check in and went exploring. When we came back we found that the staff member we were dealing with had asked his manager if they could upgrade us from a studio room to a one bedroom suite. We were so excited top floor which was only 5 floors overlooking the pool and ocean. Side by side for easy communication. They assisted us with several inquiries on where to go and what to see. They booked our excursions with ease and called for pickup if required. They answered my many questions always with a smile and professionalism. I would definitely refer this hotel if u want some local flair. We were there in mid May and perfect time for us. I hear it gets very busy for summer months. Our experience was excellent. Thank you so much for your great hospitality.

Upon arrival the manager, Luisa, knew we were uncomfortable. Since we were
from the US and did not expect the party surroundings.
She immediately called a sister hotel, Luna Solaqua and moved us to this hotel. The customer sevice was excellent and our stay in Albuferia was wonderful because of the intuition of the Ocean Luna Club manager

2nd visit, last visiting in 2022.

Great location being very close to the beach and a very easy evening stroll to Old Town (where we mostly went) and New Town.

Nice quiet hotel, large rooms, good WiFi. There is no pool bar or entertainment but isnt a problem with 4 shops, 2 bars and 2 restaurants literally within 50m of the door.

Rooms cleaned every day.

Taxi pre booked from airport was very reasonable.

Lovely quiet area, great for couple holiday.

We only stayed one night. The purpose bad was to use the local Beach club they have amazing Bali’s bed . We used the hotel as a base .
Grocery store next door and snack bar the other side . Although no food or drink on site very easy to get near by . Price was good value for the time of year and location . I would stay again

Not as described BUT amazing location

We booked and informed hotel that it was our honeymoon. Checking in we were given worst room in hotel, a wheelchair room with no balcony and a wet room shower. The receptionist started apologising before we even got to the room!! We found 2 cockroaches that night. We were upgraded the next day w bottle of Prosecco in our room which we appreciated, however this wasn’t the end of problems. We only stayed a week, and the first 4 days were spent begging reception to give us a fridge with a working freezer section. Our fridge had no shelves in door so can’t fit an open bottle of wine in fridge. We spent €20 on ice creams for them all to melt in freezer. The service man was so rude saying there was nothing he could do, we tried defrosting it, no luck and angry by this point. Day 4 we eventually got a new freezer and another 24hrs later it was cold enough to freeze, so we had ice creams in our apartment on the last day. I think this was absolutely disgraceful considering how much it is to stay here, and I think a fridge freezer for your cold drinks/bottle of wine/ice creams is THE biggest reason you pay for apartment rather than hotel room on holidays. Reception were only okay with dealing with all this. Warning the hotel has NO BAR & NO RESTAURANT open which isn’t mentioned and a poor gym. Rowing machine broken, only weights up to 5kg so useless for men. Very little atmosphere apart from stag dos, BUT quiet enough to get beds in morning. LOTS of hair on floor in room after cleaning

The hotel is lovely, clean and a short down hill walk to the beach. Staff was friendly and helpful. There is no bar at the hotel and no place to sit in the evenings other than your balcony. It is more of an apartment complex with a vending machine rather than a hotel. Other than that it’s clean pretty and good staff

Had a great 1 week stay at Luna Club Oceano. Staff are so nice and helpful! Apartment was a great size. Most confortable beds and pillows ever. We stayed in room 307 which unfortunately does not get any sunshine after 5pm if you like to sit on the balcony but could not fault this hotel in any way. Lovely pool area and then nice raised platform with sun loungers near the bar but lovely and quiet with the jacuzzis there. Manuela in the salon downstairs does a great pedicure and is so nice, 2hr pedicure for 25eu. We also booked massages in the hotel room 70mins for 40eu and it was fab. Hotel is 5min stroll down the hill to the beach - halfway between old and new town. so perfect to fit in both sides of the nightlife but to also be away from it if you want. Taxi both ways is €3.90. Lovely restaurant beside hotel called Pancheree I think which does the best grilled Salmon. Also as it was my birthday we received a bottle of bubbles and chocolate cake :) Would stay again without any hesitation!

This 3 star apartotel is now looking a bit tired, especially the bathrooms. It is situated half way between the old and new towns on a hill. Cleanliness is very good and I had a nice studio overlooking the pool. I can imagine noise would be an issue later in the season as sounds reverberate loudly around the open corridors. The reception staff were proper but not overly friendly or welcoming. They forgot my 5 am alarm call on my departure morning and didn’t seem overly concerned or apologetic. Luckily my own alarm worked Ok!

The room was big with Bedroom, Kitchen, Living room, balcony and Bathroom. Very happy with the hotel.
1 little note: the hotel uses energy saving lighting so the hall to the room was very dark (a bit scary). you had to find a small button on the side of the wall to activate the light in the hall way. They should use motion sensors instead.

We had a good time here. Location is good, quite. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Lots of places to eat close by. We where there in late February and the pool was open but its heated by the sun. Highs were only about 16 so it was cold, that was okay. My issue was that it advertised hot tubs. They were cold also. I would of loved to have hot tubs going when it was cool out. That was my disappointment.

Weather great. This hotel is superb value for money. Yes the room need an update but they are clean, comfortable and quiet. They all over look the pool and the location is great. It is situated between the old town and strip with some great local restaurants including Stew and More as well as Palacete only a five minute walk up to the roundabout. The beach is a short 3 minute walk down hill. Would definitely recommend it.

Great location to beach, old town and the strip all within walking distance.we stayed in room 402 lovely big room with lovely views.
Our room was cleaned everyday and towels changed almost everyday (even though adv they would be changed every 3 days )
No cleaning materials provided so you'll need to purchase washing up liquid and cloths.
The hotel staff are very helpful especially Silvio in the bar area.
Prices for food and drink are good and quality of food is also good.
Lovely pool and another quiet area with jacuzzi available. Loads of sun beds available.
Wifi available free of charge in all areas

apart from having a few minor problems soon after check-in with the safe and a light switch-both of which were fixed very quickly, we found the hotel, our room, the staff and facilities all to be very good.

I booked the hotel because of the location, we wanted to be inbetween the old and new towns, but underestimated how big the resort was and how far the walking distance was between the two, although this wasn't a problem, because we don't mind a walk when we headed out. if you wanted a taxi from either the new or old town, back to the hotel it was about 5 euros although the tuk tuks were about 10 euros.

we preferred the old town which was very busy, loads of bars and eating places and things to do, a mixed crowd going there, families etc whilst the new town was far more livelier with hens/stags there particularly at the weekends-still good to go too though, a bit rowdy, but we never saw any bother at all.

there is also a marina about a 15 min walk from the old town and this was well worth a visit with plenty there for the kids to do, and a decent strip of bars/restaurants etc.

we were impressed with albufeira, it was certainly a lot busier and bigger than we thought and I would recommend it to anybody, but wouldn't fancy booking a hotel on the new town strip-far too noisy and busy.

we would recommend the hotel we picked if you want to be a little bit out of it, or near the beach, but I think next time we would probably stay near, or in the old town.

The room was okay; outdated, dark but comfortable enough. Probably decent value for the money.

The locations was good as it was centrally located and reasonably close to the beach.

The restaurant was okay for breakfast but horrible for dinner. We waited 90 minutes for the worst burger and pasta imaginable and cancelled the rest of the food we'd ordered as out small kids were acting like small kids that have waited 90 minutes for dinner. The staff was reluctant to take the rest of the food off the bill.

The staff was also reluctant to turn on the hot tub after several requests as they claim they don't turn it on during colder days (it was in the 60s f (16c) both days with clouds and a little rain).

I regret not doing more research ahead of time. There are better properties in the area at the same price point.

On another note, the adjacent salon was excellent.

Great facilities and location!

The apartment is halfway between the old and new towns so ideal. It was also only a 5 minute walk to the beach. We had no issue getting loungers round the pool.

We had a room on the 5th floor so had a lovely view of the sea. I'm not sure if the lower floors would have been as lucky.

The WiFi reception was great. The only downside was having to pay a small additional charge for the safe. It wasn't much but I feel this should have been included.

Would definitely recommend to friends and return myself!

It was a great stay overall. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful and provided us with information and maps to help us. They also booked activities on our behalf which took lots of time. Rooms were big and spacious with a nice balcony. Pool and gym facilities were good with a nice hotel bar also. I couldnt of been happier with the hotel, we stayed in a studio apartment and it was the biggest studio I had ever stayed in. Huge balconys. Small tip if your staying in a studio ask for the first floor and not ground level as the balconys on ground level arent as private. The staff were lovely always there to help when required. The food in the restaurant was average price and tasted lovely, we only ate lunch there, never tried breakfast or dinner. The location is excellent 10/15 minutes walk along the beach to old town and 15 minutes walk the other way to the strip. Alternatively if your lazy like me there was a train at the top of the road which stops at old town, macdonalds (lovely cake shop on this stop) and the strip (new town) which is €2.50 a ride or €4 for an all day ticket.

I couldnt fault anything about this hotel I was very pleased and would highly recommend this to anybody.

We arrived on the 04-May-16 for 12 nights and were amazed with the friendlyness of the hotel staff, how modern the hotel was and our apartment was so spacious and clean which was equipped with everything you would need from home.

great location for the strip, old town and beach

hotel is perfect for people wanting to explore the strip - 10 mins walk, the old town - 10 mins walk and the beach - 5 mins. The hotel could do with an uplift in the rooms, but they are clean and tidy. cracks in the walls in the bathroom but mostly old wear and tear. Everything worked fine though. hardly any sun on the balcony which was a good size. so definitely ask for a high room where you should benefit more. the doors could be heard banging if people let them when they entered their rooms. go off the main routes of the town / strip to benefit from better restaurants as some of the bars and eateries are very commercial and the ones hidden away are far better. villamoura marina 4.20 euros on the bus each way. (English speaking driver).

No trouble, would stay again.

Great hotel. Reception staff were super helpful, friendly and on hand 24/7. The hotel was very easy to find by car and just moments walk away from both the old town and new town built-up areas. Room was good - spacious and clean, but beds slightly uncomfortable and a distinct stinginess with hot water! Overall though excellent value for money, would recommend to any couples/groups looking for a happy visit to Albufeira.

PS To anyone thinking of braving the cold for a dip in the unheated outdoor pool during winter (we went in March), beware - you may not survive the incident!!

Great 10 day break.

Lovely roomy apartments and pool area near beach. Only a couple of good restaurants in the area which were upmarket so had to go into old town a lot. Area a bit too remote for us but can't fault hotel and staff.

Amazed at the size of the room and balcony, room cleaned every day. Shops and bars nearby. Bus stop at top of road going to old town and strip €1.40 per journey, taxi €4 to €4.85 for same journey. Large beer in strip & old town from 1 to 3 euros. food in hotel was good, as it was my birthday I received a large cake, (not expected.) 5 mins walk to beach, 15 walk to old town and strip. TV in apartment was 4 news channels and \"pick\", as we don't go out at nights this was dismal, why (in most apartments ) 4 news channels. There were other channels in German etc that seemed more entertaining. Used Hoppa as transfer, €24 for 2 of us return journey. Would come back again.

Nice hotel in the middle of the old and new town

Nice hotel, we went when the hotel was quiet. Friendly staff although we were accused of not returning the remotes for the AC and TV which require a deposit for (when we didn't want them). Receptionist reluctantly gave our extreme 100 euro deposit back for the room even though she didn't believe us. That was the only downside to the holiday other than that, it was a nice hotel

Very nice hotel 5 mins from beach

The hotel located in a central part of albuferia excellent facilities . 10mins walk to old town and 10 mins to new town strip local supermarket close by. But will need transport to bring shopping taxi 5-10 euros
I will definitely come back to hotel.

Great accommodation, very friendly staff, lovely pool area. Location we thought was great, 5 min walk to the old town which is lovely and 10 min walk to the new town. Would def stay here again and bring the kids there next time. It was great whether you stayed there with children or just yourselves. The beach is literally on your doorstep also. Day trips and excursions can be booked at reception too which is handy. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this hotel and have no complaints about it whatsoever :)

Didn't even see the hotel!!

Arrived to check in only to be told our room had been trashed by a group of Dutch boys so we had to stay at the sister hotel Luna Miramar. We didn't get to see the hotel we had booked after spending hours choosing and reading reviews. I don't believe in the whole hotel they couldn't have accommodated us somewhere else I feel like they over booked and used that as an excuse. Do be warned if you book this hotel you might not even stay there!!!!
