Great location. Amazing views of the tip of Baha. Service was Amazing From front desk. Pool staff was just ok, to busy with their own agendas… this is a great location and their newer property next-door is impeccable. Awesome.

We really enjoyed our stay at Solmar. We purchased the breakfast only package and really enjoyed starting our day at restaurant with ocean view. I was surprised that our room came with two bathrooms which was nice for my daughter staying in living room area.

Big rooms with kitchen. One bathroom glass door was missing and one stove burner was not working. Ocean Views at the room are amazing but the beach is very dangerous and swimming is never permitted. We will not return. Staff was seldom nice only three were nice of many that we spoke with. Most employees were afraid of management. Too sad.

So let me clarify, I guess there's an old and a new section. We were only there for one night so they stuck us in the old rooms. I'm assuming. These rooms are old in need of updating not the cleanest beds aren't the most comfortable sheets and pillows are scratchy. I went for a walk and the new side is spectacular. Very nice. Now we were never in a room, but I'm assuming the judging by the exterior of the place that it was way better than where we were. I would consider the room that we were in to be a one star room. So if you're booking, make sure you ask for the new side because the old side, I most likely wouldn't stay there for free.

The ocean view was beautiful, the resort was immaculately clean and the staff were all very friendly and attentive! We loved the location and freedom of not doing the all-inclusive option so we could also try restaurants near the marina.

Solmar resort and their stuffs really care about customer’s satisfaction, you always can ask for customization according to your need and they’ll do that for you without hesitation! Nice & clean room, even though I booked a studio they upgraded me to a suite without asking and any extra fees! I had all inclusive: Food was delicious and the best part was their breakfast! Pool was clean and enjoyable! You can’t complain…

Room is huge with a spacious living room, equitesd with sofa, dinner table, coffee table. There are Two bathroom and two baths. Plenty of storage area. It is in a convenient location. 15 mins walk to busy Marina area, where we can find a lot of Resterants and activities. It is a beach front resort. Enjoyed beach view and beach walk. But beach is not swimmable. Absolutely worth the money.

We had a fantastic week at Solmar! The pool with the swim up bar was so fun, served great food and drinks and was centrally located to the beach and restaurant. Louis (server) and Eric (bartender) went above and beyond and took great care of us at the pool. The bartender in the grill restaurant was fantastic too! Food was excellent at grill and in the restaurant.

I have stayed at the Solmar a few times and have had great experiences. The staff is very friendly and kind. This time was still good, but unfortunately our AC unit didn’t work at all throughout the stay. We asked for people to come fix it and they said it was fixed, but then it wouldn’t start or turn on. Otherwise the rest of the stay was good and good service.

I booked this hotel for my daughter and her friend for spring break and they had a fabulous time. For the all inclusive it was extremely reasonable for the two of them and so on value alone I have to give it full marks. She said staff were incredible and their room was spacious and clean, more of a suite than a hotel room.
Only a couple drawbacks…maybe because it was off season not all the restaurants were open all the time and there was no bar open late. The food was mostly good…don’t order Italian lol. Apparently there is a nicer part of the complex…those rooms include toiletries but theirs did not. And this is more of a ding on Expedia than the hotel but the shuttle does not run 24 hours as the listing states. It picks you up when you arrive but there are set times for departure. Because their flight times didn’t line up they had to book private transport which was $270 RT for the car (up to 5 people). But probably nicer than the shuttle. The hotel website is clear but Expedia listing is not. Overall a great experience for them!

We loved Solmar. We always stay at Gran Solmar but I needed one more night of Cabo. I’ve always wanted to stay at Solmar. And it did not disappoint. The staff is wonderful. It was super clean and the bed was awesome.

A bit disappointing. I have never been in a cold jacuzzi before. The beach was on the pacific and unswimmable. The air conditioning in the room did not work worth a darn. Fortunately the evenings were cool enough to make the roo comfortable, but daytime. Was hot!

There was very little onsite entertainment options compared to other resorts I’ve been to. That really didn’t bother us much and you’re a hop, skip and a jump from the marina in Cabo so there’s lots to do there (but pretty expensive).

What a nice place. Had a mixup about being set up for all-inclusive but was able to sort it out easily at check-in. Bonus for that was our room got upgraded from a Studio someplace in the facility to a nice 2-room ground floor room just a few steps from the pool/restaurant area. Absolutely loved it.
Older building but extremely well-kept and maintained. Shower was hot, AC was good, full fridge, TV worked... Everything was just perfect.
Restaurant (Tejeban) had a very good assortment of items on the menu and it's clear the chefs, there, know what they're doing. Every meal was delicious.
Pool waiters were very attentive and active. Drinks came from the awesome pool bar and there was no drink they couldn't produce.
Room cleaning was \"Zena\". She was awesome. Perfect in every aspect. In fact, every staff encounter was very pleasant, without exception.
Solmar is something like a 10 minute walk to the south end of the Marina, which was also a real bonus. From there, you could walk into San Lucas Town within another 10 minutes, and it all felt very safe and inviting.
The beach at Solmar was terrific. Can't swim or snorkel there because of dangerous riptides, but it was beautiful to walk, as MANY did frequently. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Even saw a fair bit of whale activity from the shore.
I have NOTHING but good to say about the place. If we go to Mexico again, we'll be at Solmar again.
I'd recommend it to anyone, esp with poolside room.

This is a 50 year old resort that is showing its age. Not enough electric outlets for charging phones, iPads, cameras etc. Plumbing (hot water controls were problematic. No oven. Half the burners didn’t work. No wine glasses (Don’t you bring a bottle of wine to your room?) Do you like to warm up leftovers from a good meal?
Room had a great view, easy beach access and pools were nice especially hot tub. Found a nice snack bar/restaurant that was reasonably priced. High end restaurants in hotel weren’t that great. It did inspire us to go to town and look around.
Location was convenient. Easy to find whale watching and other cruises.

The room was great! I loved that they have a small kitchen in the rooms and the rooms are big (although a bit dated). You are a little secluded at this resort. It's about a 3/4 mile walk to the Marina or a market to buy supplies. The resort is quiet and it is very clean and kept up nicely. You cannot go into the ocean on the beach because of the strong waves, so that is a bit of a bummer.

Never heard this from other all-inclusive hotel and also was told when I phoned the night before that yes we can. But the front desk said no and cut my band.

Upon arrival they gave us a free upgrade to a bigger room, without asking. It had a big balcony with excellent ocean views. It was very clean, the furniture did not show wear and tear, maid service was excellent. The restaurant was nice and the food was very tasty. I admit the serving sizes were way too big for me. Access to the beach was right off the restaurant and pool area. The gardens were lovely.

It felt like we were leving family behind when we left after only 7 days.

This is a low-key low energy resort compared to others we have gone to. We were there the last week january2026. The place is clean, the staff are nice. The breakfast was good. we had dinner there once 3/5. the pizza and sushi stations were never open and the upper restaurant never had more than 1 table of people there. Bedroom and Bathroom smelled like feces - could not sleep in the bed because it smelled so bad in that room. Had to replace key card over 10 times in a 3 night stay resulting in countless trips to the main office where the staff was unhelpful and condescending. Got locked out of my room countless times because of this even after staff had promised to send a maintenance man to fix the door (who never came). Breakfast was overpriced and the food was poor quality for the price we paid. Only positives: room had a nice view of the ocean and the hot tub was nice. I would not recommend this hotel to any friends.

We booked a one bedroom suite and it was incredible. It had two bathrooms and one of them had a huge tub. We were fortunate to get an ocean view. It was quiet and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and hope to return some day!

They lost our reservation, and switched us to a room at their sister location, Playa Grande. This meant we were split up from the rest of our family, and while they said it was only a 2-5 minute walk, it was more like a 10-15 minute walk. Also, the room that they gave us was right on the marina and so loud that our baby was up most of the night crying, along with us. A very disappointing experience.

I never use hotel pools (which is why I never had a Chlamydia infection); however, the pools looked exceptionally clean, beautifully laid out into the landscape, and with only a few people inside and on the surrounding decks. Our rooms were spacious (two-room suite) and clean with a sufficient partial view of the Pacific Ocean. I want to remark that our hotel (Solmar Resort) is actually the little brother of the adjacent Gran Solar luxury hotel, and yet all the amenities of the latter can be used by the Resort guests (for a fraction of the per-night cost). This is really a great deal! Moreover, the two properties are enough removed from the off-putting hustle of Cabo proper, while only a 10 minute walk away. There is remarkable security around the properties and especially at the entrance to the grounds.

The check-in process was definitely stressful. I was first given a room that did not meet the level of room I had reserved and paid for. When I went back to the check-in desk, I was told they were completely booked and the type of room I had reserved was not available. I was shown a second room that had no balcony and looked onto an interior inner hallway. I went back to the check-in desk and told the staff I would be happy to talk to a manager. After about a ten minute wait I was told the original type of room I had reserved was actually available, and given a room key. This type of stress and dishonesty was not necessary. The room also smelled heavily of mold, and no fans or ability to open a window was available in the bathroom.

This place is an oasis. We stayed with our family for 6 nights. They even changed our room because of plumbing issues with our room. The view from balcony facing the ocean was million dollar worth. The property is clean and was less crowded compared to grand solmar next door and staff was helpful. We eat breakfast everyday. The walk to the marina was 5-10 min and uber rides to closeby restaurants was $5-6. We eat at tacos Guss and La Taquiza. The pools were clean and we hiked to lovers beach. The beach not swimmable was clean, less crowded.
Overall, I recommend this place for young families or individuals looking for a recharge.

The transportation the hotel set up was very convenient. Upon arrival, check-in was very easy. Our room was very clean and ready when we showed up. Our room had two balconies, a full kitchen and living room area, two bathrooms. During the stay, the resort was very peaceful and quiet at night. The staff was incredibly friendly during our stay, remembering names, orders, and things that we told them, like it being my birthday. Both pools and the hot tub were very clean. The food was great! Everything we had, I would have again. I just wish I ate more and drank less lol! There were activities on the resort, including exercise, blackjack, a sea turtle release, jewelry making, etc. We honestly can't wait to go back!
