We had an amazing 4-night stay at this lovely hotel! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome—they were all incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

Our room was spotless, comfortable, and well maintained, with excellent air conditioning that made our stay even more enjoyable. The location couldn't have been better, just a few steps from the Elevador do Peneco and the Old Town, with plenty of restaurants, bars, and nightlife right on your doorstep.

A special thank you to Bruno, who kindly accommodated our request for a late check-out. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made our departure so much more relaxed.

Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

Arrivée un peu désagréable, car je n’avais pas vu dans les instructions, mais si vous arrivez après 15h00 (le check in est à partir de 14h00) c’est considéré une arrivée tardive et vous devez contacter le personnel 24h à l’avance pour les aviser. J’ai vu le message 2h avant notre arrivée à l’hôtel alors j’ai avisé le responsable par la messagerie Expedia et ensuite à notre arrivée j’ai essayé de le contacter par whatsapp sans réponse. J’ai contacté l’assistance Expedia qui l’ont appelé à 3 reprises sans succès. On a dû escalader à un superviseur avant d’avoir une réponse de la part de l’hébergement. Au final on a attendu environ 45 minutes sur le trottoir avec nos bagages. L’hôtel était très propre et bien situé dans un quartier calme. La chambre était parfaite pour nos besoins, mais cette situation nous a laissés un peu amers sur le coup.

The hotel was very close to all the local attractions, the reception is rarely manned and the €20 cash charge for checking in after 3pm is excessive

The room itself was great, only downside if you needed it, there is a bidet in the room, it has running hot water,, no cold and is not plumbed into any waste pipe, so this is taped up with red and white tape

Of all the places on my trip that I’ve stayed so far, this was my favorite. The view was absolutely spectacular. You can easily overlook the entire bay and walk to the beaches in minutes. You are surrounded with lovely restaurants and snack bars and everything Alphea has to offer. I had such a nice balcony with table and chair chairs and enjoyed sitting on my balcony watching the sunrise every morning. It was unbelievable!

Very disappointed, hotel is massively overpriced, room was unbelievably tiny, couldnt go on to balcony because the noise from the many building sites was absolutely awful,
guy on reception was unfriendly, and unhelpful, wouldnt answer the phone when we were trying to find out why all the power had gone off??? ( leaving the many stairs in complete darkness, so we had to use our phone torch to get up and down )
albufeira old town was really dirty, the main square had to be seen to be believed ( and not in a good way) in fact the best thing about this accommodation was when we left and went to another hotel, so we could salvage what was left of our holiday.

Fabulous view from terrace. Frentomar is well situated in Old Town region with lots of restaurants and bars. Rooms are modern and kept very clean. Bruno and cleaning staff were very helpful and nice. My wife and I highly recommend this lovely hotel.

A very basic property with no amenities and only provide 2 sachets of coffee, tea and sugar as a 'welcome gift' no further top ups provided, ended up buying my own. Obviously been spoilt in the hotels I use for work 3/4 times a week. Best of all had to pay 25 euros for the broken kettle. At least I didn't get charged for the glass I dropped. In fairness the place was clean but a few niggle points for me. It is located a short walk from the Old Town and is quiet.

Everything we wanted and more for our first stay in the Algarve/Albufeira. The accommodations were comfortable, we chose the top floor unit overlooking the beautiful beach that had very easy access and conveniently an elevator that would take you up and down, which was great after a day in the sun. Also enjoyed the markets close by to get water and beer to cool you down and also some great cafés that offered nice breakfast options or a mid afternoon snack. If there was one negative that I could say it would be the stairs leading up to the top floor can be a bit steep if you are carrying larger luggage, but Bruno was a great help with assisting us with that. Having a communal kitchen available was also nice. The location of this hotel was just what we needed as it was close enough to the hustling bustle of Old Town Albufeira but far enough that you can enjoy a decent sleep. Would definitely go back

Perfect location to beach, variety of restaurants and close to intermarche grocery store. Kettle, tea, mugs, fridge to get the mornings started. Very clean/tidy room. Excellent housekeeping service! Front desk clerk very helpful. Main foyer furnishings are dated. We used the stairs to get to our room, so I can't recall if there was an elevator. There was some street noise late at night which might bother a lighter sleeper. A/C, TV and shower pressure was excellent. We stayed for 3 nights and would definitely return and stay longer.

This hotel is in the most perfect location! Literally right next to the beach!! You can basically walk everywhere from the hotel and nothing will be further than like 10-15 mins walking. My room was cleaned every day very thoroughly. The staff was very friendly and helpful and arranged the transfer for me to come from the aiport and back. 10/10!

We stayed early September, the hotel position is excellent and if it were revamped would be something else ,but!!!
If your claustrophobic it’s a big no as the room was tiny and the balcony was the same you couldn’t put your legs in front of you if sitting on the chair , both chairs we had collapsed to the floor with us on them , funny if it’s not you i suppose 😬 they were replaced a day later with new.
The bath had a big hole in it with a great big lump of filler splodged in and not even smoothed out just left high and ruff .
If you have any mobility issues or just don’t like a lot of steps up to your room this isn’t for you.
Quite easy to hear nearly every noise from every surrounding room.
Shower gets hot only when it wants to and if it doesn’t want to it don’t 🙇‍♂️.
The building was unmanned a lot so if you needed anything it was if you were lucky to bump into the cleaners ( who were very nice ladies and helpful ) the rooms were cleaned and new towels provided, but there’s an old saying “ you can’t polish a turd” spend money on the building and it would be an amazing little hotel .

Great value for money & accommodating host. Superb location next to the old town. Unfortunately some of the other hotel guests were very loud which disturbed our sleep. The hotel was clean and had everything we needed, our room would’ve benefited from more natural light as only one small window. Overall I would recommend.

Pleasant hotel.

We use this hotel for a few days stay as we have family in Portugal. I love this hotel as it's next to the cat park and I wake up every morning and watch them play. The bed is comfortable and the room is clean. I also like that it is out of the town and has some lovely restaurants near by. Plus the views are amazing. This was our second stay here and we will definitely be back.

I went on a solo travel for my birthday and the location and room was perfect. The bed was so comfortable and it made me so happy having the bedspread be pink. There was English tv so I got to play English music while getting ready. So close to the old town and can’t miss being right on the beach. I would say the best hotel to stay at there.

This was our favourite hotel during our two weeks tour of Portugal. Probably the BEST location in Albufuria with fabulous views of the sea and town from our balcony. Just a very short stroll from the down town action but far away to ensure undisturbed sleep and peaceful days relaxing on the balcony and enjoying the local cat colony that live nearby. Location alone deserves 5 star but room was also excellent. Big, comfy bed but also a fridge that actually worked as well as tea and coffee facilities. No breakfast or bar in the hotel but that didn't matter as lots of options close by. We absolutely loved our 4 nights there and can't recommend it enough....just fabulous.

My favourite place to stay

A great place to stay walkable to everything, including the cat jetty on your doorstep (community cats). Great host and services. Rooms with balcony have a great view. Only downside is that it can be noisy from the street in the day, and the you can hear everything in nearby rooms. (Doesn't put me off though as love everything else ).

Staying at Frontomar in Abufeira

The accommodation was good. All building and rooms have a very neat deco. They cleanliness in my room, all along my stay, was superb. The location was superb by the beach and Penaco Elevator for beach access. The hotel manager and/ or staff were rarely at the reception desk which was all odd to me. First time ever but I presume they were accessible at the ring of the bell. Despite the extreme heat that I could not get used I did enjoy my stay at Albufeira. Climate change may change our holidays habits all together, and end up taking holidays in Autumn or Spring only.

A great little find!

We booked this as a pretty much last minute decision thing and didn't expect too much due to the time of year and late booking.
I'm glad to say this exceeded our expectations in every department.
The location was perfect, bruno and the staff were very helpful and could not be nicer, the place itself was spotless and well looked after.
Everything we needed was a short walking distance or a quick taxi ride.
I would most certainly return to Frentomar.

This property is well situated on the edge of old town with close access to the beach elevator and a 20 minute walk to the marina. The views from the balcony were stunning and we very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back. The cat park next door was an unexpected and pleasant surprise for my daughter and I.

Just loved this place, peace and quiet but just a short walk into the old town. Nothing flash but spotlessly clean and really nice staff. Lovely room and balcony with a view to die for. One minute from the lift down to the beach and bars and restaurants along the street. Will definately be back next year.

Little Hideaway Above the Sea

This small and nondescript hotel has a great location for walking onto the amazing beach or into the lively Old Town. Public transportation is not great in Albufeira, but that's not the fault of the hotel. You need to do a lot of walking or rely on taxis or Uber. The staff is helpful about local information. Note: the train AND bus stations are about 8 Km from the city, so they're not a viable option for everyday usage.

Good value for money

Was pleasantly surprised with this hotel — finding affordable accommodation in peak season was difficult, so this one was picked just because of the price. But it turned it to be a good pick: great location between the old town and marina, close to the beach. The room was basic, but ‘good basic’. Housekeeping was done to a good standard. No complaints and would happily stay there again.

Great little find.

Great views of the beach. Comfy bed to sleep in. They allowed us to check in later which was nice - I just needed to contact them about our arrival time. Front desk was helpful and attentive.
It was close enough to walk to the marina and the old town but couldn't hear any noise on the evenings.
