Ocean view room for sure! Huge room, great A/C, top floor CLOSE to the lobby AND roof-top breakfast. Very kind and attentive staff at EDEN where the lounge chairs and umbrellas were easily available. The infinity lap pool was enormous! swim-up bar, cabanas, service service service -- VERY White Lotus!!!

Overall the resort was great. It was very clean, the staff were very pleasant and the gym and other facilities were fantastic. We were disappointed with our view but we blame this on Expedia - the listing said it was a \"bay view\" and it was the side of another building. On the Almar site it does say \"no view\" but we didn't see that until after we booked because we went through Expedia. It is a very loud hotel - the beach club plays loud music from 12pm - 7pm but that was ok with us because most days we were at it. Unfortunately, it was also loud due to construction of their new spa right below our unit. On our last night we complained to the front desk because they were still drilling concrete at 9 pm with no plans to stop. They did offer to move us rooms, which we did, however it was only 2 floors up and was just as noisy. It would have been appreciated after enduring all that noise for the week, if they had move us to the tower to escape it, especially given the hotel was quite empty. (the week after the cartel incident)

The hotel was under significant construction for the entire duration of our stay. From around 10am until approximately 8pm there were jackhammers and loud construction noise throughout the property, which made it very difficult to relax or enjoy the hotel.
During our stay the elevator was temporarily out of service, which meant guests had to walk up several flights of stairs to access different parts of the property, including the beach. On some occasions the usual stair access was closed, which meant guests had to pass through areas of the building that were clearly part of the construction zone, with debris and broken materials on the ground.
The hotel was also quite empty during our stay, yet when we asked about moving rooms we were told it would cost an additional $75 per night.
To be fair, we did not specifically check for construction notices before booking. However, after the issue came up we looked on the hotel’s website and could not find any clear notice explaining that the property was undergoing major construction or that key facilities might be temporarily unavailable.
The staff themselves were friendly and helpful and were clearly doing their best, so this is not a criticism of them. However, the property in its current condition does not offer the experience most guests would reasonably expect when booking a hotel stay.

Great room and service from the cleaning ladies. The Eden Pool is lovely and it’s a nice perk having access to the beach club. Service down there is very slow - much better at the Eden Pool. Food is decent for resort food. Beware of how much drinks cost though. The pricing is pretty outrageous for average drinks. It’s a good location at the end of the beach and walkable to the romantic zone and gay scene. This was a one and done for us. You’re better off renting a condo in town.

Nice place staff is really nice as well. My AC broke so they had to move me to a different unit. The new units door lock stopped working so I had to wait for someone to try to fix it. Yes these things were very annoying, but the staff was nice in the process. They did compensate a little bit on my dining bill and was able to get an extra later check out. The Eden pool staff were really nice and made the visit more enjoyable.

I had a great stay overall, excellent service, relaxing atmosphere, and enjoyable amenities. The only drawback was some nearby construction that caused minor inconvenience. Despite that, I’d still recommend this resort and would return, ideally with a quieter room next time.

Unfortunately neither the resort nor Expedia warned us of the EXTREMELY LOUD construction that was going on from 830-630 daily, making our room basically unusable. Expedia blames the hotel, the hotel blames Expedia, no one takes initiative or offers any real solutions other than “why didn’t you complain sooner?” … maybe instead of waiting for a complaint, offer something up front at check in?

This resort was very quiet. I felt safe. It was in a good location. It was at a time when it was low occupancy. The food was good at this resort. I think it would’ve been nice if they allowed freshwater and coffee in their lobby. We requested ice in our room, even went down to the front desk and we were told they would bring it up. We never received it. When I’m making my own drink in my room that I have to pay for I like ice in my drink. The outdoor pool was beautiful and very clean. The view from my room was awesome and the beach was very nice.

This hotel is pretty awesome! It was our first trip to Mexico, so unsure what to expect. The resort fee was a surprise. NO NEED to book the \"VIP\" service for transport to and from the hotel - this is FAR overpriced, and it's literally the hotel booking you an UBER in a beaten down car (VIP??). Order your own UBER when you get there - it was easy! DO NOT STOP on your way out of the airport - you'll be caught into more sales pitches that seem authentic until you catch on! The beach club, pool and hotel restaurants were perfection. Staff were amazing, friendly, helpful and seemed authentic in wishing you a good time. House keeping was prompt and very good. We fell into the trap of the timeshare speech - BIG MISTAKE! Out of the whole experience, the guy trying to hard sell us a time share we didn't want really caused a damper on the beginning of the trip - he was kind as can be until we said no, then he got pretty nasty - really hurt the good feel of what all the other staff had created and caused some ill feelings towards the hotel. AVOID THIS AT ALL COSTS, unless you want to purchase. The area is walkable to clubs and restaurants. Lots of shops. Be ready to be accosted on the beach by the sales peddlers selling bracelets etc - its relentless! Drinks were tasty and strong. Overall, we had a beautiful romantic trip, made some new friends, and created some lifetime memories! Would have been a 5 star rating if not for the nastiness of the timeshare sales guy!

At their restaurant I was served crabcakes that smelled like they were a month old - the waitress said they were “fine” - then I got food poisoning that last 3 days. The toilet in my room stopped working on the 2nd day, which was quite inconvenient given that I spent most of my trip sitting on it.

Location, pool, and beach access via the Mantamar club are phenomenal. Food is ok, would say go into town to one of the many great restaurants instead but convenient if you want to stay on resort. Spa treatments were ok, but again, cheaper better options in town but convenient on resort. There is not really a resort bar to hang out at, they seat you at a table at the top sky bar which is a little odd to me but maybe you like that sort of thing. The staff there felt a little bit rude to me as a solo traveler who doesn’t drink alcohol but maybe were just joking and I didn’t get it :) I didn’t have any issues with timeshare presentations or check in/out problems, shady staff, AC, or any of the other issues in some of the reviews I have read. Room was very nice/clean/updated and the typical nice hotel chilly air conditioning. I’m not a big partier any more and the vibe here is definitely gay party/boozin’ so probably wouldn’t stay again, but the resort was beautiful and they do a wonderful job. Solid 4/5

Although, going to various floors can be tricky since we used multiple elevators, but after the first night we mastered it. Quick and easy access to their Top Sky Bar and Beach Club which both have incredible ocean views. Also, a quick Uber ride and you’ll be in Zona Romantica. Really enjoyed our stay. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Be ready for a time share pitch. While the ocean view is beautiful the property has very few full ocean views, which IMO is 180 degrees, their full ocean view is between 90 and 120 degrees. Staff is all very friendly.
