Good hotel with a fantastic cooked to order breakfast. Location is on a steep hillside so walking back up to the hotel is difficult and recommend doing a BOLT or UBER.

Room was great, very clean. Only faults for me was changing lights emissions from video screen on wall of hotel opposite projecting through curtain and a low frequency hum I believe came from the fuse box, which disturbed my sleep.
Other than that it was grand for my needs.

Spent 2wks here in top (3rd) floor, sea view, s/c studio flat, with breakfast, room 15. Check-in fast and friendly. Breakfast basic but adequate, not busy as out of season although would imagine needs constant topping up in summer. Studio small but cozy. Kitchen area had everything needed equipment wise if needing to cook. Balcony with table/chairs, south facing sea view, so got the sun all day. Settee doubled up as bed mattress obviously well used. When lying down, could feel the springs which made it a bit uncomfortable, but just about got through the 2 wks ok. Lovely beach 100yds down road and 100yds the other way to pubs/restaurants etc and local buses. Plenty of hot water for showers and towel change if required every 2/3 days. Sheets were changed once (as expected) but on the 4th day, not after 1wk which i thought was strange. Had storm 1st week and a noisy neighbour (always 1 wherever you go!) returning at 3am for 2 days 2nd week, but overall enjoyed my time here and would consider returning perhaps in May or October time.

The hotel layout is very cute. The rooms were spacious and we had a wonderful view of the ocean. Location was great . Steps to beach and strip. If you want to party this is a great area. The pool area is beautiful.

Beach side Albufeira an area not to miss

We Stayed two nights- family of 4 (adults) two bedroom apartment with kitchenette and balcony without view of ocean. Our walk way over looked a construction site with tons of garbage in a drained swimming pool. Very disappointing. Twin beds for everyone. Clean linen and towels and good Ac. The hotel caters to groups of young men on holiday looking to party all night. The pool was over ran by teenagers splashing and drinking. We did not use the pool although we had been looking forward to the amenities. The complementary breakfast was fair and sparse. The juice machine was broken just poured water. and no kettle for hot tea. We bought coffees from the bar service because the coffee from the machine was awful. The location is walking distance to the beach and the strip of bars. The nightlife on strip is raging and goes all night long and into the morning. We could hear partygoers returning from their night out from 2am to 6am. The area is mostly very young people looking to party. Not a terrible place but not the best fit for us. We had a rental car and parking was convenient. We drove to the old historic town it was charming and bustling with people and had a wonderful meal. The next day we took a kayak tour of the caves, the meeting point a beach twenty minutes away. We also walked around the marina which is a nice family friendly spot. The hotel is steps away from the tourist train to take up the hill. Outdoor coin-op/ card washing machine next to the parking area.

Do go!! Unless you like bugs, ants and cockroaches in your room. Stains on the bed sheets as well. The place is dirty and meant for young people that are too drunk to see the cockroaches. Don’t waste your money, you get for what you pay

Stayed for 2 weeks, lovely location beach 1 minute walk the strip is 3 minutes away. Close to restaurants , bars . The staff couldn't have been nicer rooms cleaned every 2 days if you need anything they are more than willing to help

Great value apartments just up from lovely beach

Off season two week stay in one bedroom apartment. Clean simple inside with everything needed for basic cooking. Everything worked well. Enjoyed afternoon/evenings on the balcony with a glimpse of the sea. Good location with restaurants and supermarket nearby. Just 3 minutes walk down to beautiful beach or up to local bus stop. Pool not heated in winter but nice to sit on sun loungers. Friendly staff. Would come again

Great apartment with sea view. The exterior and kitchen/bathrooms need refreshing and powerpoints in the kitchen rethinking for example the kettle/toaster with unavoidable trailing wires so we had to take extra care and limit usage. Perhaps a quick solution for this would be to provide a non-electric kettle for the hob and some extra shelf space near the power socket for the toaster. Everything else is great and we love the apartments and the people there. Thank you for a lovely stay and we hope to return soon.

It is a good place to stay if you are in for a few weeks. The kitchen is good if you are doing simple cooking. On the other hand cooking involving boiling frying causes water to condensate as the air is humid as well.
It is close enough to amenities. You need to be able to walk reasonably well.

This was a very clean and friendly basic property. Our view was incredible. Parking was convenient. This is not a luxury property and it is wonderful at being exactly what it is. Safe. clean. Fun. Near the beach. The mattresses are challenging and this property is very popular with the party crowd. As a quiet couple we still felt right at home and truly appreciated the value and location. The staff could not have been any nicer. Thank you for a great stay.

Too dirty!

I booked this hotel for my daughter and when she arrived the room was so dark and dirty that she couldn’t stay there.
My daughter told the receptionist that she couldn’t stay there but she was not given a refund for her 5 night stay.
Really disappointed with this place as they kept our money and did not provide a clean room.

I like the way they upkeep the portugese algave charm throughout the premises.

Was a great room, not enough kitchen space, staff were terrific. Fixed lights provided towels and bedding quite regularly.
Too many groups of partiers mostly male who were loud and drank constantly, females were better at keeping their heads on. I have to say this place has a reputation as a partygoers hotel not really for families unless you enjoy Drunken Brits.

The Apartment was well located and was clean. The only issue I had was , one of the days we didn't have water I had to go to supermarket to buy water for my family to wash and clean their teeth. After they fixed the issue we didn't have hot water and we had to take a shower with cold water. Was so stress for my family.

The hotel is terrible - the heating does not work and there's no way to contact the concierge - we had a terrible experience.

Our kids got unwell due to no heating.

The hotel did offer us different suites but they were either too small or too smelly. The one we stayed in was the only suitable without heating.

On the second day of our stay - we went out to get medicine for children. The cleaning lady came and started banging on the door ringing the buzzer like a mad woman.

Our kids got frightened they messaged us and called the police. Unfortunately there were no English speaking staff.

When I got to the hotel I saw the cleaning lady trying to get in using keys - I told her off for frightening the kids - when I complained to the hotel manager she blamed us for leaving the kids alone.

We then contacted Expedia and requested to get refunded as we no longer wished to stay - due to the poor condition and treatment.

The hotel refused to refund us so we are in the process of getting a chargeback from the Bank - never I thought of getting travel insurance in the past due to not experiencing the hell at Apartamentos Soldoiro.

Please have travel insurance in hand if you plan to book with this hotel - as its really terrible with terrible management and condition.

This is such a great place … rooms are nice and clean … perfect location.. across from beach .. and a block from strip .. people were nice friendly and helpful … I would just have someone clean up property.. late night early morning cause people or nasty and dirty … power wash the outdoor steps / floors once a week lots of stains and outside needs a new coat of paint … just these little things would make it a 5 star

Awful stay. The walls are very thin, you can hear everyone speaking in the room next to you. Our neighbours were Partying until 6 am with loud music, screaming, yelling, and pounding on the walls and doors. Called the front desk to complain but that didn’t even help. From 10-6 am there was so much noise even the front desk would be able to hear it and did nothing. Not even just the suite next to us but across from us as well, we could hear. Didn’t get any sleep all 3 nights I’ve stayed there. The maids didn’t come clean our rooms and the place felt dirty when we arrived. Mold Inside the shower and ants all over my suitcase and clothes. Ran out of toilet Paper so I had to go ask for more because there was no maid service. Very unhappy and will no recommend anyone to stay nor will I be visiting again.

We enjoyed our stay in sunny sea view studio. Very clean, basic furnishings, nice soft pillows, rather hard beds. We were unlucky that serious drilling was taking place at the block next door, but we were lucky that the weather was good. There are restaurants very close and lots of very nice ones in 15 minutes walk. Good beach and coastal walks.

Great location, minutes away from the beach. Stayed in room 69 with a superb view of the sea. Kitchen was basic but had everything I needed for a couple of days. Bed covers had what looked like snot on it (yuk!) also asked for a extra duvet but was given a could of very very worn out quilts.

I enjoyed my stay in the Soldoiro and couldn't relate to complaints that I had seen in previous reviews. I don't like to be disturbed too often by the staff and I certainly didn't have a problem, in this respect, at the Soldoiro! However, my sheets weren't changed at all during my week long stay and only \"one\" towel was replaced.

Great location, affordable price, only one person in the counter doing everything including restaurant. The mattress was not good, already sagging and the room smelled smoke, the hotel employee offer to spray, but it does not help much with the smell. Suggest apt to increase price a little bit to provide more comfortable bed, fresh sheets and get rid off the smell.

Maid service every 3 days eg clean towels wash floors/clean toilet and worksurfaces which is efficient as your self catering.
Pool area clean and foam mats for comfort on loungers when sunbathing.
Positioned 2 mins downhill from beach which has disabled and pushchair access onto beach and 5 min walk uphill and your on \"the strip\".
The apartments are all individuality accessed from outside so there can be many steps as built on the hill.

The property is within a minutes walk of the beach and 5 mins to restaurants and bars. I was really pleasantly surprised with the soldoiro as i had read some negative reviews but when i arrived my first impression was great and it did not change. The studios while small fulfils your needs, i had one looking at the sea from my balcony. The staff were so friendly and helpful in particular Rute and Beatrice who did all they could to help in any way. I had read that it was quite noise but again i did not have this problem perhaps in high season but as its not on the main strip i dont think so. And there was a stag party staying during my visit and i heard no noise from them. My brother and his wife were also there during my stay and they too would have only positives to say.

The environment was more focused to the party crowd than family crowd. It was overall a very loud hotel with very little customer service. The complementary breakfast was horrible. Fruit items were spoiled. Pastries were very few and nothing was ever filled up for the clients.

The hotel need to be more clear when selling rooms on other websites and specify the deposit that is expected. We checked in and were charged 75E per person which exceeded the total cost of the room for three nights. It made us feel uneasy that at first they insisted that this deposit must be paid in cash. It was not until we insisted that we only had card as we had not bought extra cash to cover this that the manager agreed. We all felt concerned as though there was something underhand with insisting on paying in cash. Upon checkout not all rooms were checked as throughly as others as they stated they would do at check in.
The hotel was great for the cost, it is so central and close to both the beach and the strip. Rooms were clean and had everything that you needed. Its a real shame that this deposit situation meant our stay started negatively.

On arrival, the hotel had unfortunately had some problems with the room we were supposed to stay in. We were given no option but to check in to a hotel round the corner (it was dirty and had ants everywhere) this meant that we had to check out the next morning and wait again for our room to become available.

Other than the 1 hour wait at reception to get this sorted on arrival, when we did get checked in to the correct hotel the following day, the room was clean.

We were upgraded to a sea view apartment and offered breakfast.

the hotel is on the way to the main beach, which makes the day and night extremely loud and very busy.
Hotel service ignores your requests to silence other hotel guests at night.
not suitable for rest only for drunken visits.
only the cleaning service is good and the rooms are clean.
absolutely not recommended for family holidays.
I've been in 70 hotels for 4 years, I know what I write!

If you are looking basic , value for money, swimming pool, close to beach, cleaners every 3 days, friendly helpful reception, would recommend. Great power shower & hairdryer. 2 supermarkets across road. We had a lovely sea view balcony and were accommodated first floor as the complex has no lifts.

There was hair all over the cooking pots hair on the sofa hair on the coffee table. They told me it was a sea view i hardly could see the sea it was coverd by the building in front. They didnt refund my deposit as i lost my card while i was there. So they said they can only refund it to that card so they kept my 100€ aswel. Never again

Had to hand over 200e as deposit, I had already paid.! Staff left main door wide open and patio doors unlocked. Reception staff wld not admit this until I shamed them into it. Unfriendly, ignorant, sneaky, rude! No transfer from airport to apartment on the 22/08/17 which I booked with EXPEDIA. I tried to contact you and got nothing back. Overall the apartment and lack of transfer on first night left me angry and totally taken for granted.

Way too expansive for what it is

If you want a noisy crowd with lots of night club, it is the right place for you. The hôtel is really basic and way too expensive. The only good thing was the océan view. The check out was terribly long as the lady was not able to give me back the 200$ deposit
If I go back to Albufeira i would go in the praia Falesia sera.

Absolute dream!

I don't usually write reviews, but this time I think it's worth it.
The location is perfect - 3min. to the beach! The staff were so understanding, friendly and helpful from the second we arrived till the moment we left. The room itself was simply a dream come true - I just wish I could have stayed there permanently.
It's definitely not for people looking for 5-star luxury resort, but if you're looking for something down-to-earth and homey - Apartamentos Soldoiro can offer you just that!
I simply loved it and I'll definitely return if I have the opportunity.

Hotel is currently being updated so our original room was very noisy due to the remodelling work. After complaining we were moved to a brand new apartment with sea view and given complimentary room service breakfast. The remainder of our stay was excellent. We would definitely return to this hotel.

under renovations shock!!!

Beautiful apartments perfectly situated beside the beach with a few shops,supermarkets & restaurants/cafes. Staff were friendly & helpful whenever possible but unfortunately there were renovations going on which meant the pool & bar were closed which l was not informed of by Expedia when making booking, also loud & dusty renovation works while we were there so we had to stay out of complex as much as possible which cost a lot of money having a 9 year old child with me, l feel cheated out of my once in 5 year holiday by Expedia for not informing me of renovation works going on at apartments that l booked through them. Would like very much to redo my holiday at Apartamentos Soldoiro without renovations going on...also the studio apartments at Apartamentos Soldoiro are tiny...thankfully staff found me an available one bed-roomed apartment on the 5th day & moved me for an upgrade fee, the room was so much bigger & better that it was worth paying at the time...l found my holiday stressful & tiring but only because of renovation works going on...

Hotel was under refurbishment so the pool, bar and restaurant were unavailable. The room we were given was very basic and looked dirty as everything needed updating. Only one old wooden chair and a bench in living area for seating, we had to use the bed in the living area to sit on, which was not very comfortable. Bare essentials in kitchen, kettle had to be boiled on the hob and took ages, electric kettle would have been more economical. Room was tucked away round the back so was quite dark and sun did not reach the small balcony. On the plus side the reception staff were friendly and helpful and the location was close to beach and the Strip, plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Hopefully there will be a big improvement after the refurbishment is completed.

Great location, excellent staff.

We were lucky to get one of the refurbished apartments so everything was clean, fresh and new and the requested sea view was perfect. The minor problems we had were quickly sorted and the reason for the low rating on facilities was because the pool and bar were closed during the renovations. The staff couldn't be faulted and went out of their way to be helpful.

The hotel is undergoing refurbishment. There is currently no pool, bar or snack bar. We were given an upgrade and at the back of the hotel which was dark got no sun and not especially clean. After 3 days we checked out

On arrival waited 2 hours for room to be cleaned but it was disgusting. There were about 20 empty wine bottles under the cooker, the sofa was uncomfortable just all round scruffy. There was a building site we had to walk through daily

nice place but being refurbed

arrived sun 19th feb, nice staff but building work going on. got in room about 2.30pm very dated and tatty kitchen, nice balcony and sea view. no hot water, ran hot for about 2 mins then cold, told staff they said it would be fixed, honestly think they tried to solve the problem but we was without hot water for four days. cold shower then ! got hot water thurs 23rd. Pool, pool area and bar shut, no mention of this when we booked, refurbishment work noisy i.e jack hammers, cement mixer, tile cutters, no mention of this either when booking. After saying all this we would still return because we found the staff very accommodating and polite, showed us one of the refurbished rooms and they have been done to a very good standard. i understand refurb work must go on but feel we should have been informed before booking.

the room was below what i thought to small
not very good. no were to store food
had to ask for combie microwave, as only had microwave no oven to cook food in
2 ring cooker
no settee to sit on just too single beds piled up not good
had to give 10 euros for remote controls for tv and aircon
TV only has 5 channles one English channel which showed 24 hour news
50 euros depoist for internet and 8 euros a day
Internet Free in hotel recpition which kept going off

Fabulous location and facility's for the price.

The hotel is amazing for it's location, the staff were absolutely fantastic and friendly. The cleanliness of the rooms was to be commended and when something was wrong this was fixed straight away with no quibbles.
Would definitely go back and stay there.

Down an incline 100 mtrs to beach. Then up a sloap about 200 mtrs to the famous strip.
Apartments where clean sound free, good balcony with sea view. Cheap beer and nice staff.
Difficult if you're not mobile. 4 floors no lifts.

Lovely sea views but unfortunately we were on the top floor and there was no lift The stairs were quite steep and difficult. The kitchen equipment was very limited eg only one teaspoon and cereal dish.No wine glasses! The balcony was unusable during the hot part of the day and needed some sort of canopy.

Requested a room on the upper floors months before we arrived and received one at the bottom without a balcony or terrace (which it was specified we would receive). Some staff were very kind and helpful, we eventually got moved, but were still on the ground floor. Internet was also only available in the lobby, not in the rooms, which costs more. Not brilliant, but cheap and the pool is fine.

WARNING. Spring Breakers only.

Warning do not stay at this hotel unless you are between the ages of 18-24. The hotel was incredibly noisy all night long. Complaining about the noise was useless. Also, the hotel room was very dirty, kitchen was unusable, mattress were an inch thick, pillows were threads covering a piece of foam, no safe, front door had no security lock, no soap or shampoo in the bathroom and they only cleaned the room every three days! We wanted to leave this hotel after the first night, but unfortunately we booked through hotel.com and our room was nonrefundable. Which is why I will never book through Hotel.com again. The hotel did have a good location, close to the strip, and the beach. If your young and want to cram a lot of people into one room, and party all night long this the hotel is for you.

No soap, shampoo, dish soap for kitchen etc
No wifi for room only in lobby which closed at midnight
Extremely loud.. Kids partying everywhere in the hotel. My husband had to tell our neighbours to keep it down and turn off their music at 3:00 am
