We had a 12 night stay which we thoroughly enjoyed. We were on Self catering. The apartment is well equipped everything we need. The apartment was very very spacious and the towels were changed every other day. The staff were very pleasant and nothing was too much bother. There are plenty of loungers round the pool area but it doesn’t take long for them to be taken. We would holiday here again.

Nice but would have preferred a view

Location brilliant. Room 207 had no view and had a lot of construction noises throughout the day. However if we had a nice view of the sea or pool it would have been fine. We were in Albufeira with a large group of people for a birthday so didn't make much odds however it would have been disappointing if we were there for a relaxing break. Otherwise everything was excellent..

No way this is a five star hotel, other than the lobby. I would say three and a half at best. There was mouldings missing in doorways all the plumbing was falling apart the shower was a dribble. The tv had the capacity for Netflix but not offered. The furniture was very old and run down. On the positive the staff was helpful and the area offered a lot

Don’t go near this place

The Al inclusive package was a disgrace food disgusting and cold ever day. Drinks at the bar were a disgrace no rose wine, no malibu, no sangria no drinks at all before 12pm

We arrived at hotel at 13.00pm and did not get checked in until 4pm and hotel would not give us our al inclusive band until 4pm

No entertainment at the pool during the day no music nothing and the entertainment at night should have just went home

Basic but good apartments with everything you need to self cater. You can use the gym, tennis court, sauna and pool of the building next door. The building has no modern soundproofing so if you have a 'party' group arrive it can be very problematic. However, this happened to us and when we had a shocking night the staff, who were extremely nice and reasonable, moved us the next day to the other hotel next door and we had no problems, and an excellent week.

DIRTY! NOT 5*

We arrived late at night and checked into a ground floor room.On arrival we realised the room had not been cleaned properly. The floor was still covered in sand ,the shower screen was still filthy, there was the previous guests empty bottles in the shower still and there was no clean towels.As it was late when we arrived we tried to go to sleep before going to reception with our complaints but this was not to be as we noticed our room was really close to the bar area and could hear the group of people in there singing and shouting even after 3am.And as our room was also located right next to the main reception doors all you could hear is people coming in and out all night or people standing outside the room smoking.
After our first night we went to reception with our complaints after also finding a toe nail on floor they said would try and upgrade us to a better room which later I had an email to this effect but when we went back to reception we were told there there was only another room on the ground floor to move us to which we felt we had to accept as we thought it may be less noisy.This room was almost as bad, the bathroom smelt of sewage, there was damp on the wall, the furniture was worn and we even found a bottle top and old label on the floor.The room was just as noisy as located near to reception so could hear people coming in and out all night.Would no way class this as 5 star 3 at best! And id still expect a 3 star to be cleaned properly!! Would not stay again.

Most Pathetic 5* Hotel - Don't get sucked in!

This is NOT a 5* hotel.
To start the young ladies at reception were rude snooty and did not make the customer feel valued. They showed continued levels of incompetence bolstered by an unmissable chip on their shoulder. The exception to this is for the senior receptionist who always stepped in to resolve the situation, she is far too professional for this hotel.
Upon arrival the a.c. to the room was not working maintenance was requested but was Informed they were not available I was given a desk top fan, finally got the a.c. days later.
The rooms weres not cleaned daily even after numerous requests to both reception and cleaning staff and especially after tipping to encourage a better service. We had to request to have the bed sheets cleaned changed we stayed 12 nights the bed linen was not changed once. They came and made the beds and left without sweeping or mopping the floor. We were given insufficient towels and told they did not have enough clean towels to go around.
The pool and pool side area cleanliness is obviously not on top of their agenda. The area was being sorted each morning while customers were selecting the sun bed. I identified pooh at the edge of the pool and requested the cleaner to clean only to be told this is not my job I don't speak English. It took the hotel 45min to clean with kids still playing in the pool. I could go on but running our of space. This hotel is not European standards 5*. And pathetic to say the least. Can't upload pictures.

Lovely hotel beds were and issue

This was a double room with two single beds pushed together which made it very uncomfortable . Other than that it was great but just the beds were an issues through the stay I have a really bad back and ended up holding my partners hand for the duration of the stay which isn’t really good enough after booking a romantic weekend away

location, location poor service

While there were a couple of nice staff the service was poor any requests took over 24 hours and at least 4 phone calls. We request late checkout and the person in charge was not very helpful.

The hotel was nice. The room we stayed in was a bit dated but had everything needed ( in our case a kettle and fridge!) It is central to lots of restaurants and bars and the beach was 5 mins walk away.Nice pool area also, again some of the sunbeds were a little on the sad side.

Nice clean friendly apt hotel. Have stayed here before. Nice to see improvements re security and updating poolside beds, beautiful floor in reception. Full length mirror in bedrooms would be nice though.

Well worth a visit

A great holiday, relaxing, lovely weather, friendly people. Had few issues with broken kitchen appliances but was impressed how quickly the problems were solved. Only downside, sunbeds need replacing/cleaning!

Good location but dated and service lacking

The hotel is in a good location, with the beach a short walk away. In general the facilities are good including the swimming pool but the rooms are a bit dated. The service could have been better. The towels were supposed to be changed every second day but quite often were not. Also on arrival it hadn't been explained that the hotel offered a free shuttle bus to the main strip in Albuferia so we didn't find this out till later in our holiday which was a little annoying. Overall the hotel was ok but we would probably try another hotel in the area if we go again.

Quite good hotel, in quite a good position

The hotel has a four/five star appearance from the main door/reception and foyer, but the eating areas have a distinctly three star feel. The rooms were comfortable butthe Tv's are old,big with poor battery control,not slim, as claimed in Mr. Muthu FIVE star claims,and only have one English channel. The room floor was not cleaned regularly with grit on our arrival and the same grit when we left. Reception staff were very good.

This is not a 4 star hotel more 3 star. The rooms are dated. The cleaners don't really clean the rooms during the stay - never got clean towels throughout the stay. And complained re air conditioning several times to no avail and got told to deal with it as it's an old unit.
On a plus the staff at reception can't do enough for you and the pool side is reasonable.

Just arrived back from a ten day break from 09/08/2016-19/08/2016,great value and location for the price ,accommodation excellent, very spacious , bathroom ,bedroom balcony and kitchen diner plus free Wifi in the lobby,comfortable beds, place sleeps 4, two single beds and sofa bed pull out , very clean ,maids service every day if required .Both kitchen and bathroom dated ,need upgrade. Cooking facilities could be better but adequate ,plenty of places to eat out nonetheless.
Sol café right across the road excellent value and the strip 5 minutes down the road for dining and night life, obviously a little more expensive . Pool open 9-8 and the beach 5-10 minute walk downhill. Did not eat in the hotel, cheaper elsewhere,4 euro for a large beer as apposed to local bars 2-2.5 euro, cater mainly for all inclusive in the hotel. There are plenty of trips to go on waterparks 35e ,caves dolphins 30e ,jet boats and sightseeing take your pick. Location caters for all age groups , you don't need to travel ,if you wish to there is a taxi stand across the road or a bus stop outside hotel grounds . Taxi to old town 8/9 euro or a forty minute walk. Supermarket round the corner and an off licence next door if you like cheap beer and cigs . Overall we would recommend this hotel .

The Hotel staff are very helpful, but the Hotel is tired. We were self catering, the plug in the kitchen came off in my hand when we tried to plug the kettle in. No plugs in sink or bath, the toilet broke 3 times. No shuttle bus all week. The photo we booked was not the same Hotel, but the Praia de Oura opposite part of the same chain. Misrepresentation.

Good place to stay.

Ideal for families with lots going on. Good pool. Excellent reception and restaurant staff. Meals great value for money. Need a huge improvement on cleaning room. Three times had to ask for fresh towels and floor to be clean. Repairs needed around pool too to avoid accidents.

Great location with helpfull pleasant staff

Nice hotel good value hotel with a good location.Shower was broken on check in and when reported Maintenance team had it replaced straight away. Staff at reception very helpful - rang water park for us to check if our child's broken arm would limit her activity at the park before selling us a ticket to ensure we didn't arrive and be disappointed.
Overall a very pleasant experience and would recommend this hotel as a good base for a family holiday

Bom hotel a preço justo.

O Grand Muthu Forte Da Oura é anunciado como um hotel 5* mas na realidade deveria ser reclassificado, apesar do seu hall de entrada bem decorado e imponente. O tempo passou sem remodelação e retirou-lhe uma estrela e meia.
Houve uma remodelação em alguns (poucos) quartos que per si podem ser considerados de 5*, apesar de não terem varanda, mas não são apartamentos (que caracterizam o hotel). Os apartamentos podem hoje ser considerados de 3* quer pelos equipamentos quer pelo antiquado mobiliário. Felizmente os preços não são de 5*, o que não provoca reclamações, certamente, mas estão acima dos preços de hotéis 4* da região.
O ginásio é no hotel ao lado, do mesmo grupo, mas para além de equipamentos não aconselháveis pel estado, são do final do século passado, infelizmente. O SPA, também do hotel ao lado, não foi utilizado nem o restaurante.
Fora, a piscina é de média dimensão e há espaço para as espreguiçadeiras. Tem uma área de parque infantil, campo de ténis para repintar, campo de voleibol de praia e um relvado em razoável estado de conservação.
A limpeza é aceitável.
O entretenimento é bom.
O pessoal da receção é dedicado, muito simpático e demonstra grande profissionalismo.
A localização é central, o percurso para a praia é fácil apesar do regresso ser a subir.
No global pode considerar-se um 4* com aspirações.
Importa não deixar que o tempo apague as estrelas.

Grand Muthu Forte da Oura

Excelente localização e muito bom Hotel.
Os quartos são ótimos, espaçosos e possuem uma pequena copa e cozinha, além de varanda com vista para o mar.
Possui brinquedos externos e atividades para crianças e uma ótima piscina externa.
Perto de comércio local, restaurantes e outros.
Praia linda a uma pequena caminhada.
Bom café da manhã, limpeza impecável, equipe simpática e eficiente.
Pode melhorar um pouco na modernidade das televisões dos quartos e repensar posição destas, já que a mesma não fica disponível para assistir na cama e sim na copa.
Mas o hotel é excelente e ótimo custo benefício pelo pacote que entrega.
Recomendo sem ressalvas. Albufeira tem praias lindas e fica entre Lagos e Faro, fazendo que a logística para essas duas cidades fiquem fáceis.
