The second day our room was full of ants on the dining table, in the bed everywhere. Later they moved us to another room where it was cold for two days. We did not receive a invoice at check out and they did not return the deposit either and they promised to inform us about everything by email but this has not happened to this day. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Very clean . Lovely staff. 30 euro deposit. Not the scary 250 euro i had read about. Staff very helpful. I was a ground floor room and got a lot of ants but housekeeping cleaned up and sprayed and they didn't come back

We stayed at 7 places during our Portugal trip - this was the least pleasant. Internet did not work, the apartment was not clean; nightmare parking. This area is very crowded - seems like an area for groups of young people looking to party. The hotel staff did there best though and we generally helpful for what they could control.

Was really worried about staying here as there was lots of bad reviews. Check in no problem. €30 deposit for keys. Accommodation was big. Aircon didn’t work. 2 balcony’s overlooking the pool. Cleaners every day, although they didn’t really clean the floor or kitchen sides. Just be careful there are different pools and if you go as a group you can’t access them all, although we didn’t have a problem.

The apartment that we rented through Expedia had no oven (stove top only), no dishwasher, or no washing machine. We upgraded on site to a unit that had those missing features for extra $20 euros/day.

I already called Hotels.com and complained about lisy of Items. There was no toilet paper holder in the bathroom.There was no towel in the bathroom either. The body wash holder was broken. it didn't work. TV service was down. Technician came 3 times and fixed 2 hours later. Pile of dust on the floor in the living room. More to tell you. i called and brought hotel staff 4 time to clean the place. wasnt cleaned after 2 days of our stay. i also had terrible checking experiences with this place. Over all, i would not go back and do not recthis place.

I stayed to this property for 11 nights. The check in was ok , we had to wait for a while as no one was there.
We were given a big apartment instead of the studio we rent. Amazing upgrade! However, they haven’t told us that! I had to go and ask if they will charge me more for the apartment. The receptionist wasn’t friendly even then so I assume the upgrade was a mistake or a hotel.com bonus?

The property has a great location. Close to the beach and sea view from the balcony. Close to a range of shops and restaurants too. Albufeira strip is about 10 minutes walk away.

The apartment is a bit run down and not very clean. There is dishwasher and washing machine however no detergents at all!
The kitchen is fully equipped.

I would return here just for the great location.

This was a stay booked last minute with a friend.
We stayed in a twin room apartment which was more than enough for us.
This had bedroom and a separate kitchen area with dining room table, sofa bed and tv. Kitchen is well equipped with coffee machine microwave fridge and hob.
The reception is large enough and check in easy enough with online check in at the reception.

The pool is large enough to offer sun bed and maintain distance from others with a bar there also offering drinks and bar snacks.

The property is well positioned with a quick walk to the beach the easy way to this is via steps these are fairly steep and a longer route can be used. There are a good selection of restaurants and a supermarket directly opposite and a 10 minute walk to the main strip.

Cleaning was infrequent on check in was asked how frequent we wanted cleaning of the room and opted every other day however this did not happen with us having to visit reception to ask for the clean after using the shower it being blocked and overflowing which did take a day to sort as maintenance man did not work late.

Great apartment in great location. However missing a few of the basic items ie. Detergent and towel for washing dishes, and no tea or coffee provided. Also wifi very intermittent and unreliable. But quality of room, balcony, swimming pool and proximity to the beach were excellent.

We asked for 2 apartments close to each other and were given property’s a big distance apart . They did change them though when we pushed it . We ended up with 2 flier properties 4 doors apart which backed into the pool bar area . Perfect for us . Near to the strip and a lovely beach .

We stayed in an apartment. My main problem is that you don't know at the time of booking that there is quite a big difference between the standard apartment and a superior one. We had a 2 bedroom standard apartment. It was very spacious but the decor was very dated and the kitchen was falling apart. Our friends were given a free upgrade to a superior apartment so we realised the standard of ours was much lower. They did move us to a superior half way through our stay for a €25 cleaning charge which was much nicer. However, we had a number of requests which fell on deaf ears eg. AC unit in second bedroom never worked and was never fixed in an 11 say stay in this apartment - I asked about it 5 days in a row. No hangers in our wardrobes - I asked for some 3 days in a row and gave up and bought some. I also asked 5 days in a row for an iron and eventually got one the day before we left. Our friends had similar but worse problems as their electricity went at least 8 times over the two weeks. They asked for a hairdryer 5 days in a row and then gave up. The maintenance and housekeeping management staff completely let this property down and should be replaced. I don't think I would be interested in the hassel of staying here again.

Total 4 star failure, avoid!

We were given the wrong room, and that one wasn't even made. When I told staff she left to the reception without saying a word. After waiting half an hour at the car we went to reception and were told no other rooms were available. Obviously a lie as after another half an hour close to midnight we were finally given our room.Kitchen was extremely smelly. The internet access didn't work and staff promised me to fix and call back. Never happened. Worst check in possible. Then when we finally just wanted to sleep - we find out the bed sheets were dirty. Despite getting in so late to our room staff was not willing to extend our check out time to noon. So far no apologies whatsoever. Only after I told the other staff our whole experience and insisted we were granted another hour. At check-out receptionist finally wrote down the whole report and apologized for the colleague. However we were not offered any kind of competition. All in all: service was a disaster and rooms run down. Worst 4 star experience I've experienced!

Spoilt by drunk loud stag and hen parties

What was clearly once a nice place to stay is now overrun by groups of stag and hen parties -about 6 my second weekend. Full of blokes being drunk loud belching playing music etc and hanging around the pool. If you like that kid of thing then you,ll be fine. If not try a quieter resort now as Albufeira is spread out but caters primarily now to the drinking crowds. Also v hilly and pavements all cobbled and uneven.
There are 2 terraces over a step bridge that are grass and were quieter until the groups spilled over to them, offering some respite but a long walk to the loo or pools.
Not the fault of the property these groups are booked in and at least they provide a revenue, but this resort is along the lines of Blackpool in the sun.

This complex was recommended by a friend and didn't disappoint. V clean and well maintained, loved the fact that had staff manning the pool area to avoid the usual tourist towels on loungers! Staff very helpful and beach was beautiful (would definitely recommend the chicken piri-piri at the beach bar). Would definitely go back to this accommodation again.

Excellent quality accommodation, maid service every day which was surprising, we even had a small balcony, perfect for breakfast. Lovely pool, great for families. 10 minute walk to the beach (97 steps down, not suitable for everyone) but wonderful coastline and a much needed cooling breeze, great beach cafe serving excellent food, with a more sophisticated menu for evening meals. Shops and bars only a short walk away and only 15 minutes from the 'Strip' with it's lively nightlife and good selection of restaurants.

The stay was great! The view from the balcony we had was beautiful (of the city), very spacious with a full kitchen and very friendly staff.

Be ready to walk a mini marathon to get to the beach, as the path takes a while. However, it is the most beautiful beach I have ever been to before.

The location was great. The bedrooms were huge but the bathroom and living room were tiny. The bathroom door didn't open all the way because the toilet was behind it and the countertop for the sink jutted out so it was tight to get in and out of the bathroom , very poor layout. The shower curtain was too close so constantly in the way while in the shower. The couch was uncomfortable and not enough room for the four of us to sit. The pool wasn't heated so useless in February. The location by the beach and restaurants was great.

Beware this hotel looks fab on the pictures but unless you get block 18 you'll be disappointed. Everything about this hotel is average I'd say 3 star not 4 star. Not all the rooms have balconies & one day there was no water in the swimming pool.
The location of the hotel is great the restaurants near by are all great we never had a bad meal. Lovely beach walking distance from the hotel with a nice restaurant but no so nice staff. Emails sent requesting block 18 are a waste of time as everyone sends one. One hotel I won't be returning to.

Spacious apartment beautiful view great location.

Two days before, we received an email saying they couldn't guarantee our accommodation and had arranged another hotel. Slightly worried as it was so close to our departure! But then later that day received another email to confirm we could still stay at Quinta Pedro de Bicos after all. First night we stayed in a temporary apartment until being moved to our permanent one as it was still occupied. The first apartment was lovely and they moved all our cases and things for us during the following day. The second apartment was stunning. Top floor of block 17 with sea views, modern decor , large spacious rooms, two bathrooms, roof terrace with lovely views of sea and Faro and coast in distance. Short 5 min walk to the beach and to the shops. Had access to pool by block 18 nearby. Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Lovely Villas, right next to the beach!

I stayed in the apartments at Quinta Pedra dos Bicos with 4 friends. We shared 2 apartments and this was more than enough room. The apartments were big, light and very clean with all the ammenities you would need. The pool area was clean and the pool itself was cleaned out every evening. There was a snack bar by the pool and the lady working there was brilliant, she'd remembered all of our orders by the first day and knew who didn't like tomato, who didn't like lettuce and who always lost our games of cards (it's a shame I didn't catch her name!). In terms of location, Quinta Pedra dos Bicos was in the middle of the 'new' town. Located close to the strip (which was full of 16 year old dutch 'children') and about a 3 minute walk to the beach. The beach near by was lovely, but like everywhere in portugal, the sea was a little cold. A taxi into the 'old' town was 7 euros and well worth the visit. Definitely consider an apartment at Quinta Pedra dos Bicos!

We booked a 1 bed apartment & 2 studio apartments for a 7 night stay during January 2014! The apartments were far bigger than expected, spotlessly clean, fairly modern & serviced every day! The location is great for the local shops & restaurants! The beach is only a short stroll away, but not for those who have difficulty with steps as it's a bit of a climb! Price wise we found it very good value for money!

The Quinta Pedro Dos Bicos Apartments are a great place to stay. The rooms are spacious and airy, very clean and very well equiped in the kitchen. I stayed in Lote 9 RM9 on the second floor. I had a wonderful view of the Atlantic from my balcony. The area was nice and clean with lots of places to eat and drink. At night though there was not a lot of people about, this might be because it was November. The weather was excellent with tempretures in the middle 70's, it went a little chilly at night so a light jacket is recommended. A very nice place to stay.

Stayed in the apartment and it was 1st class. Great room, great facilities, close to beach n pools.
Very central for bars etc, the only small gripes would be A) No wifi as advertised but hotel staff provided us with a separate router/dongle that worked well. The other was housekeeping supposed to clean every day (all they do is take the bin out) new towels after 3 day's n new bedding after 4, we were there 6 day's and had to request the towels on 2 occasions and the beds didn't get changed. None of this spooled the holiday though and I would 100% recommend Pedra dos Bicos.

Marketed as a 4 start Aparthotel I would give it a 3 star at best. Hotel was in a good location near Oura Beach. Overall the room was clean and service was sufficient. As a four star hotel i was hoping for a more up to date decor and a nice TV, what i got was outdated decor and a tiny portable size TV.

Stayed in one of the 19 apartment blocks.The 2 bed apartment we were in was brilliant all mod con,used the washing machine after being at the beach.The hotel was beautiful with the lounge having an amazing view and sound when the piano is being played.Definetly 10 mins from beach and opposite direction the strip.We found ( 46yr couple and teenage kids) that Old town was a very entertaining place and a must go.

The apart hotel was not marketed correctly. Apartments were a mix of timeshares/privately owned or owned by the hotel. The first apartment we were given was privately owned with no balcony! Having two children under 4yrs old, this was very disapponting as we couldn't stay out late and therefore were stuck in the dark living room. . We asked for bulbs for the two lamps in the living room 3 times, which were never supplied, a window blind was broken and we looked onto the end wall of the hotel. The apartment was not of a 4 star rating. We insisted to be moved, and so after 3 nights, our second apartment was better and seemed to be more affiliated of the apart hotel. This apartment did not have a balcony either but a shared garden with 2 blocks of apartments. The internet connection was very poor in both apartments. Gardens were well manicured and plenty pools but no where near enough loungers. Disappointing once again.

Good, but what would it be like when busy?

Good points: Location, nice little beach. Pool. Small TV, but you should not be watching TV on holiday! We went in December and had the place practically to ourselves. But there are problems. At this time of year the pool is too cold, as is the sea. And also I would go for a top floor apartment as the scraping of chairs from the rooms above would not be a problem then. I suspect in the height of summer you are bound to have noisy neighbours.
Rooms were very spacious and staff pleasant. Kitchen good.

A great spot - take a walk down the boardwalk to the left of the main beach to find some secluded spots. Check with the restaurant about specials of the night, they may be a better deal than the vouchers sold at the front desk.

Layout of furniture was terrible, there was a wardrobe behind the front door which drastically reduced how far it could be opened. Location was excellent as were the facilities of the hotel. However I felt that the apartment we were staying in was poorly layed out and thus was generally uncomfortable, very clean just not comfortable. It was perfect for just somewhere to sleep and wash, nothing else

Well situated near beach, bars and shops

We were staying in the apartments rather than the hotel. We had our own pool at the apartments and as it wasn't a busy time we had this to ourselves mostly which was really nice. The staff were extremely helpful, from checking in to the housekeeping staff. In fact, when we made the booking we asked for a ground floor apartment and weren't sure whether anyone would take any notice of our request, but they did and we were really pleased to have a great ground floor apartment with a good balcony. The only gripe would be that the kitchen/diner/sitting room was very small for the number of people in our party - we were 5, but the apartment can hold 6 - and it was a bit of a squeeze. And the bedrooms, whilst spacious, weren't very well equipped with drawers/chairs/tables etc. The air conditioning was rather ineffective as well, which was a shame as it was very hot at night. But even so, we would go back.

NOT a 4 Star hotel

This is not the 4* accommodation described in the advert. The rooms were uncomfortable, unclean and generally run down with very old furnishings, with none of the conveniences that you would take for granted in a modern 4* hotel.

The door locks where broken, (to the apartment AND the room) making access very difficult. We were promised this would be fixed that day, but it was still broken when we checked out 5 days later. The kettle was broken and the fridge was rotten around the seals and smelt pungent (making it unusable). There was no complementary tea / coffee, sugar etc and there was not even a kitchen bin.

The rooms themselves were dingy and smelt musty. The beds were rock hard with badly worn springs, and again the smell from the bed sheets and pillows was so revolting that it was difficult to sleep on it.

The sofa was at least 20 years old, uncomfortable and the so called ‘satellite’ TV was also very old and outdated. In fact, I have thrown away better TV’s than this tiny12 – 14 inch CRT.

The towels are changed a mere twice a week, and the staff refuse to provide extra even if you request them. We asked to change to a different room due to the numerous problems and the smell, but this request was refused.

I was surprised at the reviews for this place and in fact the reason we booked was because of the positive reviews. The location is very good but I strongly advise people NOT to stay in this hotel, there are many 3* hotels that are cheaper and nicer in the same location.

Ideal Budget Location

This hotel is very convenient for this part of the coast. Good bus links to Albufieria and Villamora.
The area is well supported with shops bars and resturants.
Possible to walk into Albuferia old Town ~25 minutes.
The hotel was clean and had good facilities - pool, bar, WiFi, parking, etc.
Only criticism was the beds are hard and uncomfortable - but considering the low cost still very good value.

It was beautiful!!! Staff were great at all times. They treated us like royalty!!! Awesome!!! Our friends came here and they booked the holiday for us. Well done Natasha and Chris xx They liked it that much that they are returning in the nexy couple of months.

Nice place to stay

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment over New Year. The room was cold when we arrived but warmed up in a few hours. There are heaters in the bedrooms and lounge. The apartment was large and had a big kitchen. Generally it was in good repair. Overall, impressed.
There is a TV in the lounge, but few English channels (sky news and bbc world). There in not much outside space. The lounge and master bedrooms had smallish balconies. The pool was cold in winter. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the \"strip\" area. This is mainly a bar/clubbing area. There are however quite a few nice places to eat. The Old Town is about 40 minutes walk away. There is a supermarket (Ecomarche) close by (maybe 2 minutes walk).

A Lovely Experience

The studio we had was bigger than I expected but very strange to have no sitting area to relax in, only a bedroom, a separate kitchen with dining table which I don't know that anyone would use and a hallway and bathroom. Very nicely furnished and exceptionally clean though we never had a cleaner for our 4 day stay. Only disappointment was that we had no balcony or patio to sit on, okay for a short stay but would hate it for a fortnight in summer. The weather was a bonus, wall to wall sun for the beginning of Nov, and enabled us to enjoy the lovely pool area and the apts close proximity to the beach. A nice walk into Albuferia but my advise is do not bother, found it all very tacky and hated the way they tried to lure you into the restaurants, more like hassle. On our last night went to a restaurant across the road where they gave you a complimentary drink and wished we had gone there every night as the staff were very welcoming not like the ones in Albuferia. There was a supermarket just across the road and a bit further on a cafe that sold cakes, so that was breakfast sorted. Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend these apts, ideally situated for everything would definitely return again.

Impressed with overall facility and service

This was a smart hotel with easy walking access to quiet dining, and/or a night life, which is far enough away not to impinge on hotel. There were dining facilities away from the hotel to suit all tastes. The access to the beach was not suitable for those with walking difficulties - steep slopes plus steps. The appartment pool area was pleasantly shaded by trees with some grassed areas. There were 'ticket shops' close to the hotel where trips could be booked. Also close to the hotel were supermarkets, one of which specialised in British goods.

It was in a lovely loction very quite. The staff were fantastic very helpfull. Rooms were very big and clean. It was very near beach and strip. Only downside was we had two children with us and there was not much going on to keep them entertained

We booked this place because it was cheap and near the beach, but we were really pleasantly surprised by the fantastic, friendly service and the size of the room (1-bed apartment). Definitely recommended.

Quinta pedra apartments in Albuferia

goodpoints :Apartments were just in off the main road so quiet,they were safe and clean. Nice beach and pools with garden and poolside bar.

Bad points
arrived at 10.30 but didnt get access to apartment until 2.00pm, apartment on ground floor so no balcony , no outside area with table and chairs and therefore nowhere to hang out dry wet clothes. Only view was of the street! The steps to the beach are hard going also.

exceeded all expectations

I booked this hotel for a hen do and was a bit skeptical at all the good reviews along side the good price. I dont normally write reviews but this hotel really is as great as the reviews say..Block 18 2 bed apartments were great, very spacious easily fit 5 /6 people in. hot water all the time. Air con excellant. pool area clean and quiet - very relaxing. Beach nearby great. Lovely walks. food on site and at beach great prices. Location was amazing - 4 euros foa a cab to old town which is a must and small walk to strip which is a laugh. supermarket 5 min walking distance away. Great apartments.

No balcony as expected

We choose this hotel and kind of room because of the balcony and when we came we said we expected the balcony and we were told that it was there - but there wasn't any when we came to the room. The staff wouldn't help with this and it was not even possible for us to talk to anyone that could help.

Great location - walking-distance close to the Albufiera Strip without being in the middle of it. A bit hard to find initially but look for the signs on the main roads nearby.

A nice hotel - but...

We liked this hotel very much. It is almost new, and the apartments are very nice. Our only complain is that the beds were like rocks. It is a shame because after a long day out you really want to get a good nights sleep.

\"Looking forward to my next visit\"

When I arrived I thought my booking was for the hotel instead it was an apartment. However I was extremely pleased with my accommodation. I had a pool and seaview. I received an upgrade from a studio to a huge two bedroom apartment. The agents at the from desk Sonia and L should get a gold star for exceptional customer service. They were very informative and went out of their way to be nice. They are truly the best. I was given a tour of the hotel and the view from the rooftop is simply spectacular. I plan to visit The Algarve again with some of my relative and without any hesitation this is where we will be staying. I will book for the hotel on my next visit to compare however I know that I will have a great experience. This is an ideal location quiet and still close to everything. I wanted a break since I was grieving the loss of my mother who passed away recently. This was the best choice.

Apartments - Not bad but needs improvements

Had to wait 5 hours to get our room, rooms are basic but nice enough but we didnt get a balcony which i see as standard, cleaning staff were late every day, location is great, 5 min walk to strip, grab train to old town from there, beach 5 min walk and nice restaurants outside complex

Cool place, great location!

Stayed for 4 nights with friends mid-June. Great pool - lovely cocktails - friendly staff - 5 minutes walk to The Strip, 5 minutes taxi to the Old Town. 10 minute walk to the beach. Overall very peaceful and relaxing!

Would extremley recommend!

Me and my boyfriend are just back from a week stay in Quinta pedra dos bicos. We had an excellent holiday, the hotel is of very high standard, being modern clean with very good service. We went self catering however did eat lunch in the hotel which was very nice. Our rooms where cleaned thorouglhly everyday and the hotel was brilliant. The hotel is in great location around 5-10mins walk from the strip which we could get easily to every night but away from all the noise. It has its own little beach which you walk down quite a few stairs to get to.. however still not far and not a problem. The pool was lovely and very clean. Overall i would recommend this hotel to everyone and if returning to albufeira that is definatley where i would stay.

Nice Hotel - Staff Laid Back!!

The Hotel was great, stayed at the Quinta Pedra Dos Bicos on the coast a 4 star hotel. We stayed in the appartments but both were very clean and tidy. The staff were a bit laid back so had to wait an hour to check into our rooms, which wasnt the end of the world just a bit of a wait. Only got our towels changed twice in 7 days so take some for the appartments. Overall the stay was very nice.

Perfect Location

Have just returned from a weeks stay here, the location was perfect a couple of minutes to the beach and the strip, it couldn't have been better. As there was only 2 of us we were given an apartment with no balcony which wasn't suitable particularly if you were at the beach therefore the apartment was full of sand, having spoken to other couples they had the same experience, staff weren't friendly when we tried to change but once we got over this we had a wonderful time, would go back again but request a balcony if you want it!!!

Wonderful hotel

This is a wonderful hotel, there are really no complaints. The hotel has two pools one of which is heated. It also has very close access to a beach but you do have to go down alot of steep steps so not good for elderly. However you can get a taxi for less than 5 euros to the old town where you can just walk accross to the beach. Old town in where most of the shops, bars and restuarants are but there are local bars, supermarkets etc accross the road to the hotel and apartments also. The 'strip' is also only a ten min walk away. The apartment itself was very nice, large clean and spacious. We had a two bedroomed apartment which had a separate kitchen and lounge area that also doubles up as another posible bedroom. (which is very comfortable). This complex was only built last year so it is all brand new (there is no building work anywhere near it though!) I would definitely recommend this hotel. All the staff are wondeful. All in all a fantastic hotel in a good location.

The hotel is described as being a 4 stars but it's not. It's rather a 2 stars. When I got to my room there was a leak and the light in the living room wasn't working. I had to chase them up to have it changed. Breakfast was goog. I recommend the orange juice. Location wise there are restaurants, taxis and buses nearby.

Superb

Outstanding hotel, expecially given the low price. Would strongly recommend to anyone who is visiting Albufeira. Not only is the hotel itself brand new with excellent design, the location is perfect - close to the beach and close to the strip, but just far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. Every aspect of this hotel was great.

Large rooms with basic amenities. Unfortunately the dishwasher did not work. Only one set of keys in use, which is a bit complicated if you are not travelling alone.
