loved that we can book different cuisine for evening meals all decent take on the options available, staff were really attentive at hotel and restaurants, in particular the buffets as these would get VERY busy at times
Kids loved the Kids Shack, great idea, always seemed well stocked
Liked that mostly \"reserved\" towels were moved by management on occasion so that there was a fair chance for all to get a space by the pools. I would say there needs to be more advertisement on activities as I missed the stretch class, but the morning pool/aqua workout was fun, I did most of them over the 2 weeks, would definitely recommend and visit MGM hotels again

Not the worst hotel, needs to fixup a few things

The location was fantastic, within walking distance of many restaurants, Praia beach was about a 10min walk away. The Strip was aboit 15mins away but we werent rrally bothered!

Unfortunately, the hotel is a little outbof date, swimming pool and surrounding areas were fine with onsite mini gym and sauna (not bad at all)

Rooms were a bit dated, AIR CON was really disappointing hardly worked and when asked reception theyvdisnt really help. Asked the cleaners they said ask reception again. Wifi was another issue they have a poor authentication process.

All in all bit over priced.

Staff very friendly, arrived early but was check in directly. However they need thy adjust the check out at 11am or 12 am. 10 am not good
Hotel clean, very beautifully apartment ,
Swiming pool good but there was no bar pool at my place , however you can easily enjoy drinks in the siter hotel
Lovely different fruits for breakfast
Lunch and diner okay for the all inclusive .
But lots of restaurant around the hotel
Overall will recommend the hotel and will return one day.

The staff at this hotel are 10/10.

We moved from another hotel that was horrible, we was allowed to check in early & check out late. They was able to dry a couple items of clothing at short notice as the balcony wasn’t in direct sunlight.

I have stayed in this property for the last 16 years plus,, I got the same room I had 15 years ago there is mold in the shower/ bath,, same Decoration as then never had anything done to it since then, the bar in the hotel is so noisy it’s impossible to get any sleep,, the company muthu promised the would modernise the property they have done very little,, as I say I have been going there for over 16 years will not go back, Shame on you muthu,, stay clear especially if you are looking for a relaxing holiday no chance

would like a refund. only stayed 1 night

check in was good. when we got to the room we noticed
our bed was very low. just a single mattress and not very
comfortable. our friends were in another room and they had
a extra mattress on top of what we had in our room. when we talk to the front desk she said they have a newer mattress and that there are no other rooms available. also the bathroom really needs updating. look dirty with the cracks in the tile and walls.

The place is not like the pic, the bathroom was dirty and the beds terrible you feel the coils, Could not sleep. I spoke with receptionist about bathroom and they said the room was not scheduled to clean. Because is one day yes one day no ????? I was in shock. I ask yo spoke with the supervisor but the supervisor arrive in afternoon.when I was able to talk to the supervisor she said the bathroom is old no dirty… I told her that all the small hair is part of the old bathroom,? I know what is old and what is dirty. Was a baddddddd experience and not results they didn’t clean it and didn’t change the mattress horrible I am going to ask for refund

Definitely not 4 star hotel. Nice enough if you just want a bed. Pool area was nice. Don't go all inclusive. We all felt Ill when we got home. Breakfast was the only half decent meal. Rest was cold or awful. They had a bone curry with some rock hard inedible pork.

Rooms are spacious and clean, you have everything you need in the room although the hotel is tiring a bit. Cleaners are good but reception are slow and not much use in assisting with anything. Attached bar is a rip off at times. Pool is ok, its ok, can't say more.

Handy place to stay with lots of bars/restaurants locally.
Good pool area with lots of sun beds available.
Local bars a lot cheaper than the Hangover bar attached to the hotel.
Well equipped apartment but street noise affected ours, (above car park & supermarket) pool facing would be better.
Some late night noise from returning stag do’s and music noise from same groups around the pool during the day but not annoying enough to bother us.

I was called the evening before travel to say they'd overbooked the hotel and was told I'd be moved to their sister hotel with a room that was the same as booked. On arrival there was one person working reception and took over 45 minutes to check in. The room was nothing like the room I originally booked and there was also no furniture for use on the balcony. Bearing in mind the current covid situation the hotel was not what I'd class as clean and even less so based on the covid situation. When I went for a walk to see the original hotel I had booked it was shut. So they hadn't overbooked they just moved everyone to one hotel. Overall a very poor experience.

Very big apartments spread over several blocks. It’s in a good location and one block has fabulous sea views. You can easily walk to beach and has loads of restaurants and bars. I would definitely stay here again.

In my room: the bathroom tiles were almost all cracked, the water pressure was non existent and it had an awfully damp smell.

It was apparently fully booked and given that I had prepaid in full, I had no choice but to put up with it.

Gymnasium was a little tired and not always switched on in the mornings , 1 morning when this was reported to reception no one came so I turned it on myself did 30 minutes on the machine and still no one arrived the same receptionist advised us that it was very difficult to get to sand city when we actually caught the bus straight to it , others were very good 1 went above and beyond to assist when we had to leave early

This should be a last choice . As the interiors are not updated and also don't be surprised if the appliances such as AC / refrigerator etc are not working and there is no proactivemess from hotel management to get them repaired. If you are looking for clean blanketss it may disappoint you as they don't seem to be dry washed after a gues checks out. The only positive is that the rooms have good sized balconies providing good views. Summarising if you are a discerning traveller, then I won't recommend this hotel

Sold as free parking but there is only a very small car park which was full when we got there. Arrived at 11pm and we drove around for an hour looking for a space with two very tired children. Front desk unhelpful and rude when we were asked for advise on where we could park.
Rooms are basic, bathroom clean but in desperate need of refurb and the hotel is in a very busy area. Not at all like photos.
We were pleased that we only had to stay for two nights.

Great location - 5 minutes from the beach, supermarket underneath, and less than 10 minutes from the strip. Our room was cleaned thrice during the week we stayed and the hotel overall is very clean (however, the furniture is rather dated). Perhaps not suitable for families as it was very loud until the early hours of the morning (which was fine by us as we were out anyway).

It was an okay hotel

The location was good, the beach wasn’t too far and the strip was near. Kitchen was better than expected, there was pots and pans etc, everything that we needed. However, the shower was quite old and it was a bit difficult to get the right water temperature. The bed was very very firm and hurt my back, no mattress topper or anything, I could feel the springs. Also the pillows were quite uncomfortable. The massage chairs helped the pain a bit though, it cost only 2 euros and it lasted for 30 min. Also there was massage at the hotel which was excellent. It was quite noisy at night, we could hear the bass from the hangover bar and people were quite noisy on the street until late at night (could be partly due to the football games that Portugal was hosting though). The reception said they sent a request to the maids to separate the beds (when we booked the apartment it said there would be 2 single beds and you could see on the picture they were separate, but when we got there they were put together), but nothing happened. The receptionist said the maids were busy.. so it was an ok hotel, but I probably wouldn’t stay there again because of the firm beds.

Hotel staff are helpful and the rooms are a good size, but the hotel itself is very run down with the rooms needing gutted (a bit of paint on the table tops doesn't cut it) there are also no poolside facilities (used to be). You can go next door to the sister hotel but the pool has no shallow end. It appears all the money is being spent across the road in another sister hotel the CPO which you cannot visit ( though you used to be able too). Do yourself a favour and book one of the other hotels. Have to say the Oura area is very handy to the beach and the town.

Cons:
You have to go to the hotel next door for food and drink on the all-inclusive, not the worst thing ever but not ideal.
Some of the rooms are on top of bars. Our first night we had karaoke until 4am effectively full volume underneath us (staff at the hotel were great though and happily moved us the next day to a quieter room)

Stayed on family holiday with my two kids. Location wise its at very convenient place, with 5 minute walk to beach. Lots of eating places around it. I was disappointed by hidden marketing style of this hotel, this hotel has nothing on its own even breakfast buffet is served at sister-hotel, but marketed as having lots of restaurant and children club. I am surprise to find that this all things are scattered around at different hotels from same chain. This should be clear on advertisement, and at least on check-in provide about exact location of sister-hotels.

Important information you need to know

We are a family of four, two adults, two children. Stayed for one week all inclusive. Very pleased with the location and the hotel room with a large fridge. We had a superior room on the second floor overlooking the pool. We were informed on check in that the hotel was accommodation only and all meals will be served at their Luna Forte Da Oura Hotel next door. We were all ok with this because the Luna Forte had a five star rating. The walk to the Luna, takes you through the pool area to a gate and ramp down to the service road & car park, then 50 metre walk into the Luna hotel via reception or pool area gate that opens at 9:30am. The Luna hotel although smaller than the Oura Praia is beautifully decorated with a nice pool. The small restaurant with a bar is the only place you can get food & drink for both hotels. The food is edible and that's all I can say to try and be fair. The children were disappointed with the ice creams (only small tubs available). All inclusive bar from 12noon until 11pm, although the bar closed early one night at 10:30. We all preferred the larger pool at our hotel and walked back & forth with drinks when required. The Hangover bar, although owned by the hotel group is run as a separate business and the pool bar is not in use.

Condition of hotel is terrible. Rooms terribly outdated. Cleaned every two days and not to a high standard. Kitchen utensils and equipment not cleaned by maid service so one would question if they are ever cleaned properly if left to the guest. Air con is awful - rooms far too hot and uncomfortable. No services - bar, restaurant or pool towels! Couldn’t believe guests had to hire towels for the pool. Drinks and food could be purchased in the sister hotel! Did not enjoy having to carry drinks across the car park all the time and the food was below average. Very disappointing!
Housekeeping attempted to service our room at 5.30pm when we were all trying to get showered and ready to go out! Plus, our door failed to lock properly when we left the room - don’t know how long it had been unlocked for! Only positives are the central location (everything is walking distance - supermarket, restaurants, bars, beaches and main strip). Old Town is approx 40 min walk. The pool itself is also very big and well kept. Forgot to mention the noise - being a central location it is surrounded by noisy bars etc which I have no issue whatsoever with. My problem was the internal noise between rooms - the screeching of chairs etc across the tiled floors woke me several times each night. In my opinion this is not a 4 star hotel - at best a 2 star and I would never stay in it again. The staff don’t really seem to know/care about customer service. Ebhoyed albufeira but not because of this hotel

Nice location close to everything you need.

Hotel is clean and welcoming staff are friendly but not in your face all the time. Probably could do with a lick of paint and a general refresh but nothing drastic or urgent. The beach is a bit of a walk and not for those struggling with stairs, pushchairs etc.
Overall a place I would recommend and would likely visit again.

Location good

The check in chap was very helpful as we did not want the room near the hangover bar. Generally in terms of what you pay it is ok however parts of the rooms need overhauling as they are in poor condition. The beds are too firm to the point of being uncomfortable . The location is good close to the beach and near some good restaurants which is a bonus. Personally I would not class it as 4 star I would say a 3 star. I would say the staff are friendly and work very hard but needs improvement overall

We like the hotel - it suits our needs. 2nd stay.

We have stayed here before and so yes, we like it. We have a kitchen and my partner can make tea early in the morning and sit on the balcony drinking it and then come back to make another cup whenever he wants it.

We have to say that the rooms are looking a tiny bit sad and the prints on the wall have all faded.

We like the idea of shampoo and shower gel in a dispenser over the bath

We would like more coat hangers!

Fantastic stay

My husband and I enjoyed every single day of our stay.The front view was excellent
The staff at the reception were really nice and helpful.The housekeeping was great,very friendly staff.All utensils required for cooking provided and the supermarket in the same building was a bonus.The ticket shop down stairs was handy because we had the opportunity to travel to Fatima,Seville and Lisbon by coach at a reasonable price.The beach is just few minutes away and the environment was very lively.Very good food in restaurants nearby.I will definitely return to Albufeira and stay at the same hotel.

I had requested accessible bathroom as I've recently had knee surgery. When I got to the hotel I was told they only had one accessible bathroom and it was already booked out.
I'm absolutely amazed in this day and age that a hotel of this size had only one disabled room. They say that all their rooms are wheelchair friendly however they do t give instructions on how to get your wheelchair in and out of the bathtub.

The hotel is conveniently situated with 10 min walk to clean beaches not crowded during month of End April to 1st week may. The self catering apartments were very good with all catering facilities and Super markets close by. Would recommend OPH as well as the close by MGM hotels. friendly staff and restaurants all along the adjacent streets. Very satisfied with the full experience and travel facilities with tour buses and excursions to tourist destinations. Excellent location.

Ideal position

I have previously stayed in this hotel it is conveniently situated close to all restaurants only a 10 minute stroll to the beach ideally situated for all amenities would highly recommend. The only downside I would say would be if you are at the front it is rather noisy from the bars below and the wagon that delivers early morning to the supermarket under the hotel.
