The staff were absolutely amazing. Complete and hard working especially waitress. Our room was a distance from our friends and quite dark and dingy, but it was clean and we were only sleeping there, taxis needed to get around as a distance from bars and restaurants

Friendly welcome, and restaurant open till late.

Eccentric decor, and a bit out of the way, we nevertheless enjoyed our four nights there. It was certainly cheap and good value. We had a ground floor studio apartment in Block 2, and the block has its own swimming pool for just a few apartments as opposed to the busier, noisier main building. Free comfortable sunbeds, and scrupulously clean. Parking is easy in the area, and there is a mini market nearby for essentials. We had a couple of meals in the main bar. The choice was quite wide, and the food was well cooked, We particulalry enjoyed the pasta and noodles meals. The drinks were cheaper than in most hotel bars around. The room was a bit dark as we couldn't really open the blinds due to our need for privacy (ground floor) but it was very well equipped. The bed and pillows were not the most comfortable, hence the lower star rating, Pity there was no wifi except in main reception and bar. Finally, the size of the shower cubicle was ridiculously small. Even my slim husband had a job squeezing in, and turning around was virtually impossible without brushing against the temperature and flow control lever. Ouch!!

The property is clean & well maintained. Apartments are large and well equipped.The only minus point is that it is fairly far from the town. However there is a complimentary bus twice a day into the old town.

All you need and lovely staff

Hotel apartments are Largs clean and have everything you need pools are clean and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. For the price it is fantastic. It is about 15 to 20 min walk to the strip and there is a little superstore by just google it as it is a lot Cheaper then the hotel shop. Free transportation to the old town everyday all you need for a stay in Portugal I would definitely stay again. Download ubba for taxis as it is much cheaper and easier.

Not bad, worth the money

Stay was OK. One of our rooms was not available on Check-In and was therefore refunded. For the price we paid, the rooms were of a good size and standard, as was the pool and facilities.

Nice hotel and price.

A clean modern well run hotel with friendly staff at a very good price through Hotels.com. Only a 10 minute walk from the main strip, with transport 3 times a day to the beaches and old town. There are 4 blocks to the hotel and each block has it's own pool, so no problems getting a sunbed. The reception block pool can be used by all and has the bar and restaurant and therefore sunbeds arent always available here. Food was good and not too expensive; drinks were slightly dearer than the closest pub (Erins Isle).
The room had everything you would need to be self catering and all appliances were in good condition and good quality. The air conditioning worked well.
The only bad comment I could make is the shower entrance is a bit small, I'm 5' 9\" tall and 14 stone and had to squeeze in through the gap, 4 more stones and I wouldn't be able to get into the shower. The shower was powerful enough and always had hot water. We enjoyed our stay and would use it again

Apartments very spacious Id try and get a top floor apartment as you have a great view of the sea

Just back from 5night stay at the Choromar and cant fault anything. Our 1st time in Portugal and it was great. Will be going back every year now. Spain out. Pedro was fantanistic and so were all the staff. Only 1 complaint pool area very small, but as it was October it didnt matter.

Top edge of Albufeira..

Hotel is small, friendly family owned with a solar-panel heated outdoor swimming pool. Rooms are basic, but functional and beside beds, basic kitchen. Great thing was that there was 32\" LCD TV with more than just few local channels (no SKY, BBC or UK channels) - which anyhow got kids attention at times. Make sure you check and double-check the complementary shuttle as not having good experience there.. Location is far for walking to beach or old-town unless you train for marathon (or have a very fit kids). Pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room - none is free and 4e/person/hour might be a bit on steep side (if money is no issue - you would not be staying here)

Decent for the price

Apartments were newly refurbished, spacious, clean; and had all the mod cons- except a heater. As we went early in the season, the apartments are made to be cool. They did provide extra blankets, byt we needed heaters.

Loved everything else- karaoke with Pedro is a must! Would have also liked daily cleaning and more flexibility with check-in. We definitely would come again.

Nice and clean, excellent pools, very lovely staff

I would recommend this hotel/apartment, although it is quite far from beaches and the old town. bus services go every half an hour from the nearby school, and the free bus from the hotel takes you to the old town. Very lovely staff, the reception staff were extremely helpful and gave lots of information about bus services and booking activities. We always try to learn the language of the country we visit, and all of the staff were pleased to accommodate our learning!
The studio apartment had one double bed, bathroom and kitchen with dining and sofa area. Shower needed a good scrubbing but was usable.
Cleaners were quite thorough without being too intrusive.
Generally very pleased with our stay.

Large family owned hotel, Children seamed to enjoy the pool area, clean and spacious apartments staff were helpful on reception. Hotel suited what we were after just somewhere to put our heads on a evening, as we don't spend much time in the room as out pretty much all day and out in bars till early hours!! Stayed at this hotel 3 times and had no problems

Okay hotel for the price

When we arrived we were placed in a different block around the corner. The room was large and equipped with everything we needed but it was a little dated and the swimming pool left a lot to be desired. The facilities at the main block were much better. Pool area was very nice. Food at the restaurant was a good price and drinks were too. I was disappointed that the sauna and jacuzzi were charged as an extra. There was a games room too which had a charge as well.
If you are staying at this hotel I would recommend that you request to be in the main block.

Had such a great time, staff was really friendly and helpful no matter what time in the day. Food is really nice and not too pricey. Where we stayed we had a sepetate pool from the main pool so was always space and places to chill and sunbathe. Highlight of the week was karaoke with Pedro, such a great guy and will make you feel welcome and part of the night even if karaoke isn't your thing. Our apartment was clean and big and we felt that what we paid we definitely got value for our money. Only 1 negative thing about there was there was a cat that was forever begging and getting in the way if you was sitting outside and eating. So myself and my friend found ourselves having to eat indoors just so we wasn't bothered. Would defiantly recommend the hotel for couples, friends or families.

Too out of the way

To far out, walked to the strip, got taxie back, old town you need a taxie both ways, i love a nice walk, this was not. we had a 1bed and a 2 bed apt,(there was 9 of us, ranging from 7 to 61yrs) for my 50th birthday. both very spacious, kitchen well equipt. Meals in apt were good. Cleaning was a hit or miss. Always beds at pool area, cleaned well every day, i watched as we had a pool view. But it was above bar in main building!! Entertainment went on till 1am EVERY night, and the people sitting outside were even louder than than the music. complained once at 1.45am to security,as my daughter and grandson were trying to sleep in livingroom, made no difference. If you like sunbathing pool is no use, would you belive, there are too many umberelas!! Old town is great with brill atmosphere. Will def go back again to Albuferier but not the Choromar

The bar staff were super friendly and the food was great too , however the stay was let down by the receptionists as we felt they were bordering rude and were not very efficient. Overall ok. Nothing to shout home about.

hotel was very clean, well maintained and was unique. only prob is its in a residential area and slightly far from main strip. but didn't put us off as its only 15mins walk. Hotel reception staff were friendly and were always willing to help. Our rooms were spacious and well equipped. Only complaint i had was the up stair guest wasn't very sound proof so when furniture moved or they wore high heels it woke you up if you were asleep

A nice surprise

We were very happily surprised to find that the hotel, which we picked because it was the leaste expensive, turned out to be perfect for our stay. Our apt. was a one bedroom, with large sitting/dining area and kitchen plus a balcony with view. Clean, comfortable, and a helpful, friendly staff. It also had a heated outdoor swimming pool which is almost nonexistant on the Algarve. We would highly recommend it for a week or two.

The accommodation was clean with a good well equipped kitchen area. The apartments are looking a little 'tired and worn' and in need of a general make over. The rooms do not provide a hairdryer. The pool and bar area is well kept with a friendly, lively atmosphere. There is a small grocery store however it is not very well stocked and very over priced. The location of the property is a little out of the way from the main areas. A free shuttle bus to the beach and the old town operate daily.

Hotel is ok , rooms are a bit tired looking.Good pool , excellent bar with good food.
Staff make up for the slightly tired looking premises .They are friendly and efficent.
Courtesy bus to old town and other areas.Taxi,s are well priced so no problem with location .Also local service bus just around corner from hotel.
Best to book transfer in advance from Faro airport if travelling independently.
30 to 50 Euros.Wouldn't bother with hire car if only staying in Albufeira as parking is difficult.

Hotel of a fair standard

Food was very good and entertainment at the hotel, especially karaoke very good. Quite a way from the beach but pool very nice and a shuttle service is available. About 5-10 euros to Old Town in taxi and in walking distance of the strip where the clubs and pubs are all very good.

Everything about the hotel was average, nothing more nothing less. It was a standard apartment of a decent size, clean and well maintained. There was one problem I had which was the changing of towels and bedding. They only change the towels twice a week and the bedding once a week, which is not often enough. Was 15 minutes walk to main strip which I was aware of and okay about.

Noisy but...

Initially we weren't impressed. There are a couple of blocks within the complex - block 1 is over the bar / main pool area and we (mum/dad/14yr old/11yr old) found it a bit down market - small pool, too many sunbeds for space, wall to wall sky TV sport, lots of UK families wearing football tops and drinking at 9am with foul language. We were rescued by being assigned a 2 bed apt in Block 2 well away from Butlinsland and with a great pool. The apartment is big and rundown but - adequate. The big issues are 1. The noise - every night we where kept awake by noisy neighbours in and out of the aprtments. 2. No air-con so you you have to keep wndows open even with the noise. 3. The area is poor - miles away from anywhere in the middle of a concrete jungle (Think Tower Hamlets on a good day). The reception staff are very helpful and to be honest the kids enjoyed the 10 day stay due to having the pool to themselves (+ 1 or 2 other families) for the time there. But be warned if you get allocated block one with the Butlinites....Albuferia itself - pretty tacky and v expensive. Poor restaurants at the 'Strip' all out to charge you 10 euro for a poor plate of food an 3 for a kids drink (budget 90 Euro per meal). The weather was fab and so were the water parks. I wouldn;t go back to either the resort or the apartments as a family. For the same money you can go outside euroland and have a better standard of everything. Be warned.

Hotel staff from reception to bar to cleaning staff were all very friendly. Rooms were very spacious but were visibly 'lived in' (normal uncomfortable beds after a week away from you home bed). Karioki most nights of the week, which was noisy but never found it a problem getting to sleep from an exhausting day in the sun. A good venue for taking your children as they were encouraged to join in the karioki in the evenings. Cheap and cheerful basically.

Hotel was okay. The sliding door to the bedroom was broken - it was openned all the time. At night, the room was very cold because of it. The room is outdated - sheets & towels are worn. It's far from everything. However, The Pub/Bar was good - actually the food was YUMMY.

Value for money

Choromar Apartments was not easy to get to. Its not quite in Albufeira. Its on the outskirts of Albufeira. The area is called Montechoro. Look out for this sign if you are driving to Choromar on th EN125.

Séjour convenable. Chambre au rez-de-chaussée vu sur la piscine et à côté de la réception / restaurant : très joli mais très bruyant +++ jusqu’à tard dans la nuit. Chambre très sombre. Chambre très humide : quelques cafards, très chaud dans la chambre…
Climatisation présente.
Pas de navette en raison du covid mais 2 lignes de bus qui mènent au centre ville de Albufeira et la plage : 1,40€ le ticket, toutes les heures environ. Je vous conseille d’avoir une voiture pour vous déplacer ou d’utiliser uber qui est très rentable à Albufeira.
Bon accueil jusqu’à tard le soir.
