Breakfast was a varied buffet, catering for all tastes. Great amenities, clean and spotless. Room service by Marida was flawless! Front of house staff were great. It is a beautiful hotel, well located and I got a gorgeous room overlooking the pools and sea. First hotel I've stayed in where the bed was comfortable, the room was quiet despite the number of guests. The staff were feiendly and the buffet breakfast was consistently good. It is away from the crowds of main Albufeira and yet it is easy to travel around as a base. I even took a coach trip to Seville for the day! It is a beautiful property inside and outside and probably the best hotel in the area. You won't regret it.

The spa is convenient but i have seen better i can rate the spa 5 out of 10. For this quality it was poor massage . Other than the massage i would recommend the hotel for relax and rest time . We were very happy with our stay at Portobay Blue Ocean hotel. Found it to be very clean inside and the outer gardens and swimming pool were very well kept. All staff were very nice and friendly, often saying hello when walking past. We had the buffet breakfast which was always good, with fresh fruit and nice bakery bits. We once had the buffet evening meal, which I found all very nice. Didn't use their restaurants as menu didn't peek my interest and we're always dead. The sunset bar and upper swimming pool have fantastic views. There wasn't a huge amount to do in the area apart from the beaches, with a lot of places closed but appreciate we did go 'out of season'. There is a great wooden walk way that goes down to the beaches but is quite rough terrain in places so you do need to be 'active' and have suitable footwear.

While this is a large resort and meals can get a bit crowded, Blue Ocean could be rated five stars for its great offerings: infinity pool with padded lounge chairs; fantastic food choices; beautiful grounds; and great views of ocean and cliffs. Access to beaches quite steep with lots of steps. Will definitely stay again!

We had a lovely stay at PortoBay Blue Ocean. The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable, and we loved the beautiful plants and trees around the hotel, it gave the place a very peaceful feel. The sunset views were stunning. Such a thoughtful touch when they surprised us with chocolate-covered strawberries and orange juice for a birthday — it made the stay extra special!

We enjoyed very much staying at PortoBay. It is how hotel should be like, clean comfortable room and friendly staff. I want to particularly shout out that we stayed in the low season (Nov) and the hotel still offered fitness class like yoga everyday. I had the lovely yoga class outdoor in the hotel garden by the ocean.

Rnjoyed our first stay with Porto Blue Ocean, was an anniversary weekend and they suprised us with a nice bottle of Brut and chocolate strawberries. The room was spotless, hotel pools were lovely, great food and helpful staff. Breakfast was lovely, lots of choice. The only thing that annoyed us was the many people queuing to sit outside to eat there breakfast..the staff allowed them to gather literally over guests who had just started their breakfast, so it felt rushed. Plenty of spaces inside or the staff should of managed the queue if people are persistent on eating outside. Felt uncomfortable.

The hotel is new and pretty, however two situations happened that made our experience bad. Unfortunately I fell one of the stairs of the hotel, the deck stairs is pretty narrow and extremely dark. I was provided with no assistance nor follow up.
In addition to that, I booked a 1 night stay through expedia as a gift to my brother and sister-in-law. Unfortunately, at the time of the check-out they charged my brother another night, saying that the one through expedia wasn’t paid. Even with proof of payment they did not yet return the money to my brother who paid extra. It is being more than 2 weeks now and we continue to wait for the refund.

The hotel was a bit far from the old town but we use uber to get around and it’s cheap. The hotel was beautiful a lot of sitting areas inside and out as well dining options were great. Entertainment on the day we arrived was great. Staff were very friendly. Our room was big with a lot of storage. Overall it was a newly renovated hotel and it was beautifully done. Access thru the beach is by the next hotel which they own as well. It was quite a walk back up but not bad. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

There is a \"family hotel\" across the street with a DJ and loudspeaker system who plays and announces (loudly) all afternoon and into the evening. We heard this the afternoon we arrived and asked to have them move us away from the noise. The front desk would not move us but assured us the DJ stopped at 6 pm. He didn't. My experience at Portobay BlueOcean was truly amazing. Absolutely do recommend this hotel. So clean, they did an amazing job with the renovations and the look of the lounge and other facilities in the hotel. Gives a chic but modern tropical vibe in the hotel. The hotel itself was very clean, the staff is also amazing. They’re always on top of everything and making sure things smell clean and that everything is clean around the grounds and even service at buffet, etc. Walk to the beach is not too bad at all as you can access the walkway to the other hotel PortoBay Falesia and take the stairs to the beach. Food was nothing exceptional but was actually pretty good for a hotel. This is a 4 star but it’s definitely a very good 4 star hotel. Perhaps my only complaints or thing i would say the hotel could improve on was making the grounds a little bit more lively. I know that’s maybe not the vibe they’re going for as it seems more of a hotel to relax and for more retired people and families with kids but just seems like there could’ve been more activities or music or performances that could’ve been done for entertainment.

The property itself was lovely. The staff was not particularly well trained, especially out by the pools. They did not understand what you wanted to order and therefore frequently brought the wrong drink. They were also extremely slow. The free buffet breakfast was very good. The reservation dinner place was good, with well trained staff, but had a limited menu. The would not seat you without a reservation, even though the inside of the restaurant was empty every night.

It was a shame that the hotel used fake pictures of the gym. The photos on the website and online are AI generated and do not reflect the real gym, which has only one machine. I had to find another gym 10 miles away, pay €50 for the week, and drive 30 minutes each way. I booked this hotel specifically for the gym and the sauna, but the sauna was broken for the first three days. The jacuzzi was full of kids jumping and screaming, as was the pool.

In der Hauptsaison denke ich ist es nur etwas für Menschenfreunde. Parkplatz Situation selbst im Dezember schwierig. Mitarbeiter alle sehr nett, bis auf die am Empfang. Dort war man eher unterkühlt aber ok. Was gar nicht geht ist, dass man permanent WhatsApp Nachrichten des Hotels bekommt.
