When arriving at the hotel the lobby and reception area was beautiful. We were greeted with a cold towel and a refreshing little beverage. This was well needed after the travel. Our room and the outdoor facilities were amazing. The staff made the stay extremely easy and were always 10/10 for service. The food and drink were second to none.

The service at this resort was wonderful- staff were always kind and accommodating. Breakfast buffet was pretty decent and had a good variety. The property grounds was very lush and green. With that said, I'd say this resort is more like a 4-star resort. We felt like a lot of details were overlooked or simply just not met- i.e. dirty/stained bedding that still persisted even after being replaced, beach towels that were falling apart. Still a great stay but for the price point, it felt a little short.

Reception staff very accommodating. Breakfast very poor and staff not the best. Not much choice. Best thing was the fresh juice. Croissants and pastries stale. Rooms very large but also very dated. Upon arrival , no greeting. We had to bring our own bags to reception. Only 5 parking spaces. Certainly not 5*. Good location, nice beach and spa.

Brilliant hotel. Rooms were authentic, but with all modern needs.
We stayed in a normal room and it was huge.
The breakfast was good quality but the buffet area seemed a bit claustrophobic.
Having the hotel on the beach is a great perk. With beach bar having great food and the staff are very attentive.

Nice landscaping, quiet villas among lush greenery, lots of food and massage options nearby. We booked a suite with private pool, garden view, and had the feeling of complete privacy. Breakfast and service very nice.Only downsides were unreluable Wifi and moody AC. Room was spacious enough but wardrobe, shower, bathtub and toilet are all within the same space, no doors between them, and poorly isolated from rest of the room.

We had a great stay here in Feb/March 2024. The hotel is beautiful, the room was huge with amazing authentic traditional thai decor. We felt instantly relaxed when we walked into our room. The mini bar was stocked up with loads of drinks and snacks, welcome fruit and great staff who made us felt welcome and set us up in the room. The room was very clean and it smelled great from the incense they burn in a small corner. We also made use of their on site spa and it was a great experience too, the set up is very calming and serene and the private massage rooms with shower and tub were amazing. We're coming back to this hotel again in Oct 2024 because we loved it so much. PS:Had a pool suite and the set up of the room allows you to climb straight into the shower from the pool which is just genius

Lovely Beach Hotel

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel, its is an older resort but is very well maintained, more traditional Thai. Comfortable bed, Staff fantastic, good selection at breakfast the fresh juice was great. We had our own pool which was nice to cool off in after being at the beach all day, just needs some kind of rail to make it easier to get in and out of. The beach area is very clean with lovely soft sand but easy for walking. Close to other restaurants and bars. After check out we were able to spend more time at the beach they provide toilet and showers where we could shower and change before moving on to our next hotel.
We would stay here again. Value for money.

My husband and I stayed at Royal Muang Villas for my birthday and thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay. From the spacious room and comfortable bed, to the accommodating and friendly staff, great pool and beach area and a lot of food options, I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The resort was even better than in looked in the photos in our opinion. Highly recommend

Check in takes to long, after 12 hours of flights we had nearly an hour after we arrived at hotel till we had our bags delivered to our room so we could relax.
We then found we had no hot water.
We then went to swim in our splash pool - spa jets were broken.
Had a swim anyway - nearly cut my foot open on a broken filter grate on the bottom of the pool.
Floor boards in bathroom area moved which caused a nail to rise up - put a bandaid over it so we didn't cut our feet.
Room safe didn't work properly, had to enter code around 10 times each way to lock or unlock.
A burger ring under our desk from a previous guest still there when we left.
Rock slabs used for pathways near beach would move when stepped on, warned about them by a staff member but never fixed the issue.
On the 5th day our pool went a shade of green, I assume as we had not seen any filters had come on for a couple of days.
Then for a grand finale, on our last day we went for swim after lunch, shortly after going back into our room there was a loud crash outside. Upon investigating we found a lump of CONCRETE the size of a loaf of bread had broken off the second floor villa. It hit the tiled awning above our pool then landed on the edge our pool and exploded sending pieces of tile and concrete into and around our pool, the largest was about the size of a rock melon which landed in the pool where my wife and I had been swimming. Staff called, looked, said sorry and blamed a squirrel.

We had a really good time at the hotel. Room was great, we had a pool room which was ideal with the kids. Pool big enough to actually swim rather than just have a dip. The hotel pool was excellent and very convenient to go straight into the beach . The hotel is classed as 5 star but this is Thai 5 star. This is not the 4 Seasons. The beach was good and the sea great nice and shallow for the kids. The hotel is getting a little tired in places and the beach could’ve been cleaner. On some days.

The Good first , very friendly staff, Big pool with waterfall, onsite massage, and bar, big spacious rooms. The ugly they had no water in our wing or several rooms for almost 2 days mainy during the day due to onsite pipe or maintenance issues ,the guest should of had a choice to get a full refund and check out or free stay especially without running water or shower usage. But after letting it go for a full day we had to ask for a credit the second day which we only got one day credit after a hassle , but the manager seemed to be in a rock and a hard place so to speak and was Professional to deal with. Also the rooms and resort is a little dated, maybe things will improve as the revenue come back or if things get done , you decide just trying to give our experience at that time.

My family and I really liked the hotel location close to restaurants in Choeng Mon, the beach, facilities, good buffet breakfast and the very friendly staff. Accommodation was spacious and fairly peaceful.
The property could do with a bit of renovation, for example the wood decking by the villa pool was loose and cracked in places.

Our stay was incredible! The property itself is as promised and described, the staff were extremely responsive, friendly, and accommodating, the rooms were great, and the grounds were picturesque!! We went with two small children (6&7) and they had a great time. The hotel is great for families, as well as, couples. The spa was clean and relaxing. They also offered kids packages. The breakfast that was included for free had so many options and was delicious. I would go back there in a heart beat!

Thumbs up for very good service from staff. Always all smiles, polite and attentive!

We moved from Chaweng area to here. There is nothing much around the hotels. Just a few restaurants, convenience shops and massage places. But it is sufficient for a short 3-4 days stay. Overall, it was a very quiet place. Very good for relaxing. Not much swimming can be done in the sea as there are many motors boats in the area.

Room wise - We had a suite on the 2nd level with a balcony, but we couldn't use it due to the amount of mosquitoes. The bathroom was huge with a very nice jacuzzi bath. But structured in a weird way, which is not very convenient for families. It would have been much better if the bowl was segregated, not right next to the shower & bathtub!

Paradise + Value = Exceptional Experience

Second time in 2 years and loved everything about RMSV. Personal service and attention second to none, amazing beach, great pool, spa and food. Breakfast could have more variety, however no complaints! 10 minutes to Chaweng by shuttle/taxi, 15 minutes to Fishermans Village and many restaurants to choose from just outside of the property, and on the beach. I am really picky, but I cannot say enough about the experience. I will be back soon!

We got to Royal Muang villas and were very disappointed as it did not meet our expectations. We wanted to leave the hotel but our booking was not refundable. Tried to speak to the management and Nicollo was so nice and tried to help us but the management above him did not care. Eventually, Nicollo suggested us to move to the same hotel but on the chaweng- Muang samui spa. So we did and had good time although we’ve been much satisfied if they let us leave with refund.

Overall very good, but the pool villas on the 1/F, you can see your neighbour's pool from the deck which isn't very nice.
The guests bathroom on B1 seems it's still under construction as some showers don't work and lights don't work.

The restaurant was great for breakfast and lunch and for dinner our first night we ate on the beach. We only regret we had only booked for two days. Very relaxing place to spend a few days.

Great experience from the very beginning. Staff are professional, friendly, and knowledgeable about the area. Our villa was a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom with private pool. It appeared that most or all of the units had their own pools, which was perfect for a swim during any time of the day. The complex also has a large pool in back and is located right on Cheong Mon (sp?) beach. Location is not in the middle of a very busy area, but there are plenty of shops and food options nearby. The hotel has a shuttle that takes you to their sister site (~15 min ride) in Chaweng that has more options for nightlife, etc. 100% recommend and hope to be back again soon.

Beautiful Villas and Beach

There were some hiccups with the check in process and readiness of the room which was unfortunate. Nonetheless, management took note of my feedback and resolved the issue quite promptly. Kudos to Guest Relations Manager Mr Norbert who personally came to see us and offer apologies. Housekeeping staff were also very friendly and helpful to our kids. We are happy to say that our stay for the rest of the holiday was pleasant and relaxing.

The only problam is that you need a cab each time to go to the city. About 10-12$ each way. U must bargain . It’s only 7-10 min drive.
Otherwise food is a bit boring and u have mostly Thai food at morning time

A pleasant resort and a nice experience

We (a family of three) had a good stay at the Royal Muang villas. The songkran dinner activity organised by the hotel was the highlight of our trip, which we would highly recommend. However, the resort has many mosquitos both at the villas and the public area, e.g. the restaurant, beach bar and the big swimming pool. We had to apply a lot of mosquito spray before going out to anywhere.

Breakfast could be further improved also. The fruit selection was rather limited. We stayed there for 4 nights but didn't see any mangos. The Thai noodle corner was ok.

Where time slowed down

Have just returned from 16 days at this hotel, having had a wonderful break. The staff went above and beyond my experiences of 5* hotels, ensuring little details like extra flowers in our room, because i said i liked flowers and freshly made ginger tea at breakfast every morning was on the table without asking. We were given complimentary meal and massage for two which we used, the meal was delicious and the massage, lets just say my husband had never had a massage before this vacation returned having had 5. The buffet breakfast was inclusive and with enough variety that you could have something different every day of a two week break, including bucks fizz, or bloody marys. Yes, you have a ten to fifteen minute taxi journey to get into Chaweng, main tourist destination, which costs on average 300-400 THB, so factor this cost in your budget. But if it is peace and quiet you are looking for, look no further and if you can book a villa with a pool, absolutely delightful. I rarely return to a hotel, but would have no hesitation going back to the Royal Muang Samui Villas. Simply go and experience Thai hospitality at its best.

The hotel was nice and inviting, but a few times I was left scratching my head when it came to the service experience.

We had our laundry done by the hotel (for a pretty high fee which was fine ... we were happy to pay for the convenience), but the laundry arrived back late on the day we were flying out which left us scrambling. Also, when I called the front desk, they told me they do the laundry off site and it's out of their hands ... then when I called back again later about it, they were rude and hung up ... also, when we checked the bag, we received some other people's items (which we returned to the desk ... a little disorganized).

We also arranged a late checkout for the day we flew home and called to confirm it a couple days in advance ... we were told it was all good ... then when we came back to our room on that day, we were locked out and they told us we were late in checking out.

Overall, the hotel was nice, we liked our room, 80% of the staff were great, but we stayed at nicer resorts with better service for less money in Ko Samui.

The hotel was great even though we had some minor problems, for example: bad WiFi in the main bedroom, the jacuzzi in the private pool was out of order and noisy A/C.
Once we called reception, everything was solved instantly.
The hotel service personnel were excellent !!
Hotel facilities are great.
Breakfast is excellent.
The hotel is far from Chaweng, and the hotel shuttle in not sufficient. Be ready to pay extra Taxi.
Overall it is pleasant hotel, with great facilities, beach and personnel.

The hotel is a traditional Thai style which makes it very relaxing. Our family pool villa was perfect with 2 bedrooms, each with their own bathroom and separated by an outdoor area yet behind an external door for security. The water temperature in the pool was perfect. The rooms had effective Airconditioning although some things like the curtains and rugs looked a little tired. This was only a minor point and would not stop us returning. The staff were amazing and very helpful. The beach is nice and you can swim in the water. About 30 minutes Walking distance to Big Buddha. Taxis ( open air tuk tuks) are passing the front of the hotel so can easily pick one up to go to Fishermans Village -( we paid 400-500 tb for 5 people )or other places. Great breakfast selection and drinks and lunch can be ordered and brought to you on the beach or at the main pool. There are shops across the road to get supplies. Overall we loved it here and even felt the 51 steps to get to our villa on the top level was good exercise given the amount we eat and drink when on holidays. Would love to come back.

Spacious rooms that are well
appointed. Very comfortable and private.

Staff are attentive to customers needs. As a vegetarian I felt the restaurant staff made a special effort to attend to my needs (special mention of Khun Ton), as the breakfast buffet is very meat oriented.

The shuttle to Chaeweng was a very helpful service provided by the hotel.
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and wished I had time to stay longer.

A lovely peaceful location

Excellent choice made by me for our family get together . we had about 8 villas booked for 4-6 nights. Really enjoyed our stay every one was very good and helpful. Restaurant breakfast and lunches to dinner were excellent. Chef & F&B manager were extremely obliging in organising special dinners etc for our Son who got married a few days before .
Overall a very good experience ...do go their Cave Spa.

Great location and beach. Horrendous mosquitoes

Great beach, staff and service. Rooms are large and comfortable, until 900 pm. Then you have 100s of mosquitoes invading the room (I was on a ground floor villa) so maybe the plants and shrubbery may have contributed. Upon complaining, staff tried their best to get rid of mosquitoes, but to no avail. Tried the mat, and the 'herbal spray'. No use, and was quite disappointed that they charged me for using the herbal spray. Won't recommend and won't stay again.

Wonderful hotel with the most attentive staff. We had a gorgeous pool to ourselves and the main pool and beach area were fantastic too. Not a lot of snorkelling here but water is very warm and lovely. Food was particularly good on the beach restaurant.
Excellent breakfasts too.

We couldn't have picked a better hotel

Muang Samui Villas was absolutely perfect. Amazing service, very friendly staff, the rooms and balcony set the scene for an amazing holiday.

They set up a restaurant on the beach every night and have entertainment which was great.

The part of the beach outside the hotel is the best beach we saw on the whole of Koh Samui. Clear waters and white sands.

We decided that we'd be back within a day of being there. The staff also held a small cocktail party to thank the guests.

Breakfast buffet was very good, the pool area is beautiful.

The staff were very helpful in booking excursions and taxis for us.

They also have a night market outside the hotel every Wednesday which was good for shopping and picking at good food.

Either side of Choeng Mon there are lively towns to visit. Bo Phut and Chaweng. we couldn't have really asked for much more.

The whole experience was epic and we were treated like celebrities.

Great Quiet Place

I spent several nights there in mid-December. I like this place because the rooms are very large, the staff is attentive--but do not go over board. The buffet breakfast is right on the beach and good. The swimming pool is also very nice.

Amazing!!!!!!!

Everything was amazing , the staff was amazing, give you fill like a king. Hotel is look and feel like you in A dream. Breakfast is great. Beautiful beach. The best choice is samui.
The bad part it is over quick.

Beautiful room and hotel.

Lovely helpful staff. Breakfast very varied and nicely cooked. Rooms very clean and gorgeous. The hotel and the meals and drinks werent the cheapest but then you often get what you pay for! Highly recommend it, especially for romantic holiday. We had room with 2 big comfortable beds, jacuzzi bath and rain shower with gorgeous veranda , if you can cope with the heat !!!

A Great Holiday

First impressions of the Hotel was awesome. This only got better when we met the staff. Starting with the driver who picked us up from the Airport, reception and room service all of whom made us feel welcome. The genuine need to make us comfortable and enjoy our stay was infectious throughout the array of staff and our stay. Leaving was difficult and we will return.

New hotel right on the beach

approx 10 mins from Airport, arrived tired but excited, check in was very quick but it was the quiet season , so to be expected.shown to our room , which was fantastic, (well worth the extra money for a deluxe suite with its own pool.
All the facilities you would expect from a 5 star hotel.View of the beach and pool area was gorgeous. We ate at the hotel restaurant the first night which was nice but expensive, as were the drinks.We ate out at one of the many restaurants on the main street from then on which were all fine and about half the price.
Cheong Mon is a quiet town with not a lot going on but a 10 min taxi ride will take you into Chaweng which is much livelier. THe beach is simply stunning and i am told the best in Koh Samui.
All in all an excellent trip

Enjoyable Property

We would highly recommended the Royal Muang Villas. The property is in excellent shape and the service was very well done. The pool and beach areas are very comfortable and clean, as was the room. We included breakfast with our room and while the buffet was standard selection, it was well presented and fresh. We rented motorbikes from the hotel and toured around with a stop at the Four Seasons for lunch. Now that was a treat!

Our room was huge and beautiful, with balcony seating area, service was first class. Breakfast was very very good, although we never at here in the evenings as it was too quiet in the restaurants, there are lots of great places to eat within a short walk as well as all amenities you might need. Staff were great especially Ahme. The pool is beautiful as is the hotel grounds.

We had a pool villa, and absolutely loved it! I liked the fact it was in a quieter area than chaweng perfect for a couples romantic getaway. But was easy to get around the island in taxis if you wanted some more action. Clean and good staff i would definitely stay there again when in Koh Samui

We had an amazing stay at this resort. The staff were great and super friendly. The beach was great for swimming and breakfast buffet offered more than we could ask for. The resort is in a quiet part of the island but with enough restaurants / convenience stores that you don't need to go anywhere else. If you want to go to the main beach, the resort offer a free shuttle service. We definitely want to come back to this resort!

Fantastic Service and Great location

We booked our stay based on the reviews from tripadvisor and hotels.com, our only concern was location, but actually the location was just perfect. It is located just a few minutes away from Chaweng and this is what makes it so great, because it is nice and relaxing in Choengmon with not as many people. The beach at Muang is also fantastic. We were very happy with the service we received from the hotel and the staff is wonderful. We are going back to this hotel next year.

Great beach location - perfect for peace & quiet

This hotel is on a really special beach with soft white sand and not too many people. The weekly floating market makes a nice change to what other places on the island offer and gives guests a nice introduction to Thailand's tasty street food. The rooms are spacious with large \"proper\" jacuzzi baths (we are not usually fans of jacuzzi's) that actually do a great job of relaxing you after the long flight. We would have rated this hotel more highly had the beds and pillows been more comfortable, but this is only a minor point to the overall experience that Muang Samui has to offer.

We had the 2nd floor room with balcony. The room was amazingly spacious and the bathroom was awesome. One of the best hotel rooms I stayed in. The beach was quiet and clean. Water was pretty blue but not as blue as some beaches in Thailand. Overall, I would go back to this beach and the hotel is def worth the money. P.s. there is also a strip of shops out front and have about 20 restruarant to pick from. So it is not necessary to go into Cheweng all the time.

Huge room, nice beach

We stayed 2 nights in Muang Samui Villas And Suites. Overall environment and service are good especially the huge room. However, we hope the resort can improve their hote water supply since the 1st night when we are back to room we found no hot water and spent us an hour for the technicican to check in room. Finally we needed to move to the other room in mid-night. I found that someone mentioned this problem in another blog. So it seems that it happened before.
