Check in was terrible. We didn’t get our room until 430 even though it was ready much earlier. They forgot to text us. The hot tub was out of service when we arrived and then the 5th floor with fire pits was sectioned off. Lovely property and location but not worth the cost.

Room was immaculate and decorated so pretty had the partial ocen view with balcony nice comphy chairs and table tl sit and enjoy coffee/tea in mornings could even hear the waves crashing for the most part since our side street was not as busy in morning!! Great places to eat near by but we actually enjoyed breakfast at hotel twice and food by pool both days everything delicious and fresh…the day beds with unbrellas are amazing overlooking the beach. Well every lounge chair actually has umbrella much appreciated for the hot days previously…just wanted to hang out by pool generally in shade
Everyone attending to us was so friendly accomodating and welcoming
I was amazes at their choices of cold pressed juice offered daily and avocado toast in the morning…generally difficult to find my food choices readily available for vacation

The hotel is stunning. Beautiful rooms and fantastic staff. I will say I was not a fan of the breakfast or cocktails at Low Tide. I definitely recommend going outside the hotel for food.
My favorite place for brunch in Santa Cruz is definitely Mad Yolk and for cocktails check out Cooper & Front!

Excellent room with one big caveat: I had a patio room on the pool level, but that patio faced the canvas back of a cabana. No privacy to left or right, and separating the patio and the blue-striped canvas is a walkway mostly used by staff. Not what I had in mind, and rather awkward to sit out there. Good bed, great shower. Very nice freebees including a quite good full bottle of cabernet sauvignon. I breakfasted twice in the Low Tide restaurant where staff are willing but under-trained. Room service was very good. The lobby bartender was into his work, experimenting and engaged. The location is steps from the boardwalk and beach.

We stayed for 3 nights and for two days housekeeping did not clean , both days we had to call the front desk and they had to send someone when we returned in the evening.Ordered room service one night and we had barely finished eating when someone knocked to ask for the dishes , despite having told us when they delivered the food that we could either leave the tray out or call when we were done . The snack and drinks which are inclusive in the room was a nice touch and they replenished the water when they did eventually clean . The spa hours are till 8pm which is too early in my opinion. The spa has no clear instructions and when several guests tried pushing the button to get the jets going it turned the entire thing off . Clear instructions at the controls would be helpful. Not sound proofed well you can hear the noise and conversation in the next room and when housekeeping is in the next room it's really loud . Charge $5 for charging electric car for each night but nowhere on the website does it mention that. Toiletries are really nice , and the bed was comfortable and the room was well appointed and decorated . I understand the property is new but definitely has some service issues they need to work out. Beach cruisers are free and on a first come first serve basis which was nice. Room service food was great.

It's so nicely redone that it doesn't feel historic, which is a shame. It's pristine. The bed was the MOST COMFORTABLE bed I've ever slept in. I do feel for the price though that parking should have been free. I parked on the street and got a parking ticket which was still cheaper than the valet. We took the bikes and it was a nice touch! The pool is amazing. The drinks are too expensive to even purchase one though.

This hotel was not only stunning, but the staff were professional and friendly. The decor was gorgeous and the finishes throughout were truly spectacular. The amenities were incredible as well. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an amazing place to stay by the beach. One additional thing, the bed was like sleeping on a cloud!

We just stayed at La Bahia Hotel & Spa and I honestly can’t say enough good things about it.

From the moment we arrived, everything felt top-tier. The staff was incredibly respectful, friendly, and always ready to help with anything we needed. You can tell they genuinely care about the experience they’re providing.

The hotel itself was beautiful and extremely clean—every area felt well taken care of and thoughtfully designed. There’s also so much to do, which made the stay feel like more than just a place to sleep. The gym especially stood out—seriously one of the best hotel gyms I’ve seen.

Big shoutout to the valet team too—they handled my truck perfectly, no issues at all, and were professional the entire time.

Overall, it was an amazing experience. We would absolutely love to have our wedding here in the future. We’re already planning to visit regularly and will be recommending this hotel to everyone we know.

Room was clean and well stocked with complimentary snacks. Pool area is fabulous! Had lunch at Low Tide and it was very good although never got a coffee refill and our server wasn’t very nice. The only complaint about the hotel is our room had an adjoining door and we could hear everything the people in the other room said, it was very loud. Apparently, the hotel knows this is a problem and is working it out so that should be resolved soon. Great experience overall

The wonderful valet parking service and modern stylish stunning architecture immediately impressed us when we drove in the hotel lobby!

The online check in was easy and just walked to the reception collected the key with champagne as refreshments.

Being Expedia Platinum member and this hotel is under VIP access, we got a surprise upgrade to ocean view with balcony! Each room comes with exclusive bottle waters, wine, sodas, popcorn, salt water taffy, coffee and tea complimentary.

The pool is heated overlooking the ocean with lounge chairs is a great place to chill and relax.

We love the in room breakfast service and everything about this hotel! A great birthday weekend!

Hope they have the loyalty program soon! We will definitely come again as this is our 2nd time visiting.

We had a really lovely stay overall. The property is beautiful and very clean, and we appreciated that most of the in-room amenities were complimentary. Our room had a great view of both the ocean and the pool, which made the experience even more relaxing. We would have liked to use the spa services but they were quite expensive for an already expensive nightly rate.

Unfortunately, we did run into an issue with the smoke detector in our room. After a hot shower around 11 PM, it started going off. We called the front desk and were told someone would arrive in about 10 minutes, but it took closer to 30 minutes. The staff member who came wasn’t able to fix the problem and said they would return with replacement batteries, but no one came back. As a result, we didn’t get to sleep until around 1 AM. The alarm went off again multiple times around 11 AM the next morning. We ultimately had to rearrange furniture to reach the detector and silence it ourselves each time with risk of self-injury because the detector was very high up.

The staff was apologetic, offered us a late checkout, and said they would refund the hotel fees for the inconvenience (though we have not yet received that refund two weeks later).

Aside from this issue, the property itself was excellent. I would recommend confirming that room maintenance issues are fully resolved if something comes up during your stay. With better follow-through on service requests, this would have been a perfect visit.

Beautiful hotel but still working out its \"bugs.\" In-room phone inoperable so had to repeatedly go to the front desk for room service, parking valet, etc. Engineer unable to get the phone working. Confused waiters in the restaurant leaving us almost 30-minutes before twice asking for assistance. Plumbing in the shower roared like a freight train because of vibrations in the pipes. In-shower seat was separating from the wall. Details matter. The staff was overall very friendly and helpful. One thing I really resent are the \"resort fees.\" These are $50 daily charges for...what? The pool and gym which most hotels provide without an extra charge? And the fees are taxed, too. Why not just build these fees into the room rate and not offend guests with this unpleasant and unfair add-on? It's not a matter of affording them—we certainly can—but it's a bad practice. That said we might consider another stay in the future. The location is wonderful! But, the performance could use some adjustments.

The aesthetic is very nice. It's the only five star spa in the area. You want to keep that in mind when booking as you will be charged for this feature. The staff was very polite, courteous, and professional to the guests, however not to each other. I pay attention to work culture dynamics. The food quality could be better. The spa is very nice, but the staff follows a choreography and clock when providing services. Over all for me 4/10.

The moment you pull into this hotel you feel luxurious. The staff is amazing from the time you get out of your car. Everyone was helpful and smiling.The room was awesome, we had a King room with a balcony view of the ocean. The pool is amazing with firepits and views of the beach.Our bartender at the pool was April, she was the best,gave us some tourists spots to see.We had dinner at the low tide bar,the food was amazing and the drinks were awesome,we loved talking with our bartenders and Dylan (double d) and Alicia were very attentive and friendly. We cant wait to go back to this resort. I am already planning my next trip.

The property itself is beautiful! The room was lovely and the whole aesthetic was very calm but cool. It’s right by the wharf so you have a short walk to the beach, the seals/sea lions, the arcade/boardwalk, and different restaurants and cafes.
The bath/shower products smell great and the in-room waters, food, and fridge sodas were all complimentary!
Staff were all very nice and the valets were super personable and on top of things.

There were some small details that left us leaving at the end of our stay with a “meh, that was just ok” feeling.
- our room had no “do not disturb” sign to use which led to…
- room service came back to collect dishes at almost 9pm and knocked on our door when we were already asleep
- room service was quick but we felt it was pretty mid quality. We skipped ordering breakfast to the room because dinner was lacking.
- room service brought up our stuff with a couple plates covered but then a couple plates completely uncovered (just some concern with it traveling though the hotel unprotected and also losing heat)
- paid for late check out in advance but they shut off our key so we couldn’t get back in our room then they couldn’t correct it so eventually had to send someone to let us in to grab our stuff

For the price of the room, we just felt like those things should have been thought through/neutralized already.

Love the room and was especially grateful that there wasn’t a lot of extra charges for things like in room and amenities. The only thing I would’ve liked more is if they had had more thoughtfulness on how they divided the space between the rooms as there is no privacy when you’re on your balcony
