The property is quiet and relaxing. I liked the proximity to the beach and the zoo. kids loved watching the ducks and sea turtles. Food at barefoot is decent.

Bathrooms are very dated and need to be redone. Our toilet seat was broken, toilet paper handle falling off, and shower wouldn’t not turn off for bath. Also parking is extremely tight. The smell from the beach bonfires is quite strong in the hotel room . No air filters or proper ventilation especially for people with respiratory issues.

Beautiful property. Room was very clean, very nice; but did have a few maintenance issues. Love that we could stay a day of check out until 10 o’clock and use the property and all the pools and hot tubs, but wish the pools were open later during our stay (all close at 10).

The charges is unclear . I thought the Expedia charged with the hotel resort fee and parking fee when I was done with the booking with you , only left $52.92 would be paid at the property. But when the hotel front desk still charge me for the whole $46 +$43 as the clerk told me . Why? I called the hotel , no body sees in charge of the questions about the charges they made .

The convenience of being right on the beach can’t be beat! But the rooms definitely need some updating and the air conditioner was full of dust. Overall, my family had a great time at the pool, beach, and sports courts.

Clean room, but bathroom/toilet area in specific was tiny, as it’s in between two walls next to shower. We had a garden view. The property itself was ok, definitely could use a little more TLC and improvements. Has potential to be a 4 star property but it’s more like a 2.5-3 stars.

Paradise Point has a beautiful property and grounds, and the main pool was a lot of fun for our family. The island-style atmosphere is unique and relaxing, and the location is convenient for visiting San Diego attractions.

That said, for the price, I expected a bit more. Complimentary breakfast would have been a nice addition considering the resort fees and overall cost of the stay. The bathroom in our room felt small and could use some updating. We also found the food options on the property to be quite expensive for the quality and portions offered.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the scenery was wonderful, but there were enough drawbacks that it didn’t quite feel like a great value for the money. We’d consider returning, but only if we found a good rate.

The view from our Bayside room was very nice. The room had avery nice patio with grass and bayside sand and water entry. I would highly recommend this resort. Th staff was very responsive any request. We had a problem with hot water in our shower which was quickly analyzed and solved within an afternoon.

We enjoyed our stay but we noticed the rooms are very dated but clean. We could not enjoy our patio because the patio furniture was filthy. You get charged a $49 parking fee and a $49 resort fee on top of the room charge. Beware. The staff were wonderful and the five pools make it enjoyable.

I took my children here and we stayed for 6 days. Overall, it’s a beautiful resort with beautiful views. Now with that said, it needs to be updated. Everything felt outdated from the TV to the beds. I was really disappointed when we saw our room, and had I not paid for everything upfront, I would have gone elsewhere. The resort fees were also a bit ridiculous. I felt like I got scammed as the price really doesn’t equal the experience. I will say it’s really close to the airport and attractions such as SeaWorld so that was nice.

I will not go back the next time I go to San Diego.

Glad I stayed/visited but would not go back. Hotel was not clean enough for my liking. Felt dirty and even after the rooms were cleaned it was still dirty (and stained).

Nice concept. Hotel was outdated and felt older. No real room amenities. Outdoor patio to pond isn’t really something ppl would use. $6 surcharge on any food and drink order you make . Every single order you do so if you’re at the pool you have to pay $6 every time you order a drink. Wasn’t awful just not a place we would stay again.

Beautiful property with plenty of things to keep you busy. Had a couple of restaurants on site that were convenient. The beach was cool and there were a lot of things really close to go do. Location was great because it was in between a lot of the nicer beaches that we went and visited. Would definitely recommend for families!

I was very disappointed with our stay. We came hoping to create a memorable birthday experience, but unfortunately the condition of the resort did not meet our expectations.

The room had spiders and other critters coming down from the ceiling, and it smelled as though it had not been properly cleaned. The floors were filthy, and it felt as if the cleaning equipment itself was not being maintained. When a place calls itself “Paradise,” that standard should apply not only to the beautiful outdoor surroundings but also to the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms.

The pools also appeared unclean, which made it difficult to fully enjoy the amenities. Throughout the resort, including near several restaurants, there were strong odors that suggested grease traps or cleaning areas had not been properly maintained. We had planned to order food within the resort, but the unpleasant smells discouraged us from doing so.

I believe the resort would greatly benefit from investing in additional staff and more consistent maintenance. This review is intended as constructive feedback to help improve the guest experience and bring the property up to the standard its name promises.

I loved staying here the staff is amazing. The pools are awesome. The property is absolutely beautiful! The pool bar closes at 6pm and the drinks are pricey. The room was a great setup. There was a smell coming from the air conditioner. The shower just needed to be bleached some areas of mold on the grout. They give you endless towels and clean the rooms daily. Room service is fast. I would stay again.

We stayed here for my 36th birthday and it was paradise! We literally felt like we were in Hawaii. We live in San Diego so it was a staycation but wow I did not want to leave. We spent the day at the main pool and then went to dinner at Barefoot bar and grill which had live music . We saw a beautiful sunset and enjoyed the property. We will be back!

We love this place! We used to live in San Diego, and everytime we go back with our two toddler aged kiddos, we always stay at Paradise Point! It’s smack dab in the middle of everything, has everything you need, and is gorgeous! The kids also get a kick out of feeding the ducks at the resort :)

This is a nice place to stay. We did the miniature golf, swam in the pool, rented the bikes. A cabinet door in our room was broken. The walls are very thin, so the loud family on the other side was a bit annoying when I was trying to sleep, Other than that, everything else worked fine. The bed was very comfortable, I slept great. The restaurants are both good. We ate one meal at Tidal, the food was great. We ate at the remainder of our meals at the more casual barefoot and really enjoyed it.

Overall positive experience - swimming pools were heated, snacks/refreshments are available near the pool - the Mexican Street Corn was great. Be prepared to walk around in the resort, your cottage might not be very close to the swimming pool, observatory, restaurants etc. There is plenty public parking available, you might not need to pay the extra $50 to park over night.

Be aware, this hotel has become the shadow of itself. Go to the market and find 7/11 sugary candies and ice cream, very poor taste and quality bathing suits and accessories. Nothing like it used to be. We had two rooms and had asked to be sided. we ended up being far away from each other. Our room was next to a group of Russian speaking people who regrouped at the head quarter bedroom next to us. It was a zoo!. They brought tables and chairs and skewers and BBQ, smoked cigarettes, talked loud, played games. They were at least 20 folks. No one from the resort did anything to it. We literally could not go outside of out room, nor have our door open! many other rooms got affected by this group. They just squatted the place. We had come to rest and assumed it would be quiet and pleasant...The pickleball courts are poorly marked and located in a construction zone. The Coffee shop Tidal serves $7 latte from a machine you find in fast food place. Just blunt cheap and poor quality all around. Last, the gardens who used to be magnificents are all contaminated by blowers and certainly folks who never were taught how to care for plants. Oh, and if you ask the front desk who to speak to for complaint, there is no such thing. This place may have a nice location, but their years of glory are far far behind.
We won't set foot there again.

The rooms are clean, little bungalows. Not really a great beach for kids to play on, but a nice quiet area. A lot of the amenities were not open, food options on the island were not bad, but a little pricey. A nice place to stay for a night or two, but I would choose another option to better meet my needs with two children. Was in a good location to explore areas around the resort or if you are going to sea world or the zoo. I would probably look somewhere on cornado for my next visit due to dining and activity options in proximity.

We had such a wonderful stay at Paradise Point Resort & Spa! The beach access was beautiful and made it so easy to relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. We especially loved spending time at the pools — they were clean, fun, and perfect for both relaxing and family time. The resort had so many great amenities that made our trip feel like a true getaway. We would definitely love to come back again!

While the property was beautiful, well maintained, and the staff mostly pleasant, the prices were outrageous. $30 for a mediocre buger at best, and drinks were around $20. Who knows if they actually put liquor in your cocktail because they made them where you couldn't see them. Its almost as if they didnt want you to relax and have a good time. Two coffees and pastry came out to $45. I would suggest not eating or drinking at this property if you can help it.

We stayed in a Bayfront Suite and the views were remarkable. The room was very spacious and clean. We had a backdroor leading to a small yard just steps from the sandy waters. The grounds of the property were a pleasant walk with birds, turtles, and other wildlife surrounding the area. Both restaurants on property provided excellent food and superb service.

Experience a late night pizza. It was delicious and had a lot of flavor. I wish staff would have worked harder to get me a beach view room but somewhat still satisfied with the room we got even tho the swamp view wasn’t that great. The family activity’s were were on point can’t wait for my third visit. Highly recommended one stop shop they have everything there.

We used to come here for many years with our kids in the early 2000's. Back then the resort was in great condition. The street pavement was smooth, for kids to ride scooters and skateboards. All the landscape lighting worked. All the paint was good, etc. They also had a guard gate which limited access to guests only so there was very little traffic. Now it is looking much older, the pavement needs a resurfacing, finish carpentry needs to be redone, etc. It was not badly run down, just not up to the price.
They charge $45 a night to park by your room now. That used to be free. There is a big public parking lot, but depending on where your room is, it could be 500 yards away. That may not be a problem for some, and it may be a problem for others.

The California Coastal commission probably forced them to open the property to the public for beach access, and they put up big ugly signs everywhere...now you get people wandering through the place. It just doesn't feel as safe and secure as it used to.

The location is great. It can not be beat. We just went to the Barefoot Grill for lunch and dinner, and the food was excellent. The views are wonderful. But it does feel like time is taking its toll on the place a bit.
