This is probably the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The staff is very friendly, no matter what you need and what time you’re reaching out to them. The breakfast was good. The location is great for anywhere you need to get to in San Diego.

Hello.
This hotel has helpful and friendly staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds and linens, a decent shower, good breakfast selections, and a large parking area.

The bathrooms and a few areas of the exterior building are showing signs of their age, but nothing terrible.

The location of this property is fair to poor. The hotel is located in an older industrial area. At the back of the property, there are garbage and recycle vendors that start their days before 6 am. You do hear the noises from the trucks, at the back end of the hotel.

A few streets away there are several restaurants (fast food and sit down for service) as well as a grocery store that we were happy to find.

There is a Canes Chicken steps away from the hotel, which was convenient, especially later in the day, as you could just walk over and feel safe.

There is not a pool or a gathering area other than the breakfast room which had lights out after the breakfast hours, so I assumed it was not to be used.

This is not a hotel where you would have a place to hang out other than in your room.

I enjoyed my stay. The hotel is 10 minutes from the San Diego airport.

Kept. Nice breakfast in the mornings. Close proximity to the beach, sea world, and shopping malls. Only complaint I had was the fridge in the room didn’t get cold and the A/C unit didn’t get cold either. When other guest around us used the shower it was a loud noise that came from the plumbing I assume.

Good location. Updated building with modern touches. Staff professional. Breakfast was fine. It was noisy. We could hear through the walls very easily. The shower for the room next door shared a wall with our room, next to the bed it seemed, and it was loud through the wall. The noise made it difficult to rest.

The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was small but the shower was great. There was a lot of choice for breakfast and it was continuously replenished throughout the 4 hour breakfast period.

At one point the toilet wouldn't flush and someone was there to replace the valve within 5 minutes. Less than a 20 minute drive to all the main attractions.

This was a great hotel with very friendly and helpful front desk staff and cleaning staff. The breakfast has everything you could want. The location of the hotel was perfect for traveling to the beach or Sea World. No freeway travel necessary. The beds and pillows were comfortable. I travel to San Diego several times a year and this is my new go to place to stay. There are also plenty of restaurants and convenience stores within walking distance.

The check in was nice, but he stated that he was told that we had a Dog? I explained to him that we do not have a dog. I wanted to change room because he put us in the dog area and the hotel was full so we couldn’t change room. The room had ants and frig didn’t get cold . I told the clerk at the office several times and nothing happened.

This hotel is so nicely renovated! The rooms still feel brand new. The parking is free and feels relatively secure even though it's not fully gated. The area is a little rough but I felt safe. It's so nice to have a hot breakfast included, and their outside patio is very cute. I had my dog with me; they put all dogs on the ground floor, and our room was on the back with a grass yard outside and it was nice and quiet. There is a Raising Cane's next door and a very cute coffee shop and plant nursery a few blocks away. The location was convenient to the beach and not far from UCSD. I wish the refrigerator had a freezer section but otherwise it was almost perfect! The staff and management were all very friendly and helpful too. Would definitely stay here again.

The location is good there's a lot of food and shopping options, the staff was friendly and helpful, I didn't inspect the room but it looked clean, breakfast was good- eggs, sausage, breads, muffins, fruit, cereal and waffles, there's a laundry room on site, the only issue I came across was the wifi- I had to call the help support service to get connected the tech rep was nice and helpful and got the job done. Free parking is on site.

Location is not optimal for families with small children, but the property does have a gate around it which provides a little bit of security. Walking distance to Raising Canes, Starbucks & a strip club, depending on your interests.

Beds are comfortable, good pillows, but floors were super dirty and we used most of the washcloths to wipe grime from our feet. The spacious bathroom pictured is obviously wheelchair
accessible, but the unpictured regular bathroom was so small/cramped that it felt almost claustrophobic. (We are not large people- I can only imagine how uncomfortable it would be for anyone over 6ft or 200lbs.)

Staff was friendly and accommodating. We didnt have time to check out the breakfast. Overall, would definitely not stay again- mainly due to sketchy area.

The room was clean when we arrived and cleaned daily. The staff at the front desk were very helpful, even getting us a different iron when the one in the room didn't stay hot long enough for us to iron a shirt.
The breakfast was plentiful and delicious and the worker there was very pleasant.
Parking was tough, especially the first night when we arrived late. Very narrow spaces made it a challenge to fit a mid size car into a spot beside a larger vehicle.

Check in was a breeze and I was ready to go with my room key in less than 10 minutes. The lobby was very clean. The room itself was very clean as well. We had a little issue where the shower was very loud but we were able to fix it ourselves. Each room has their own AC unit but they are very loud and the air is not circulated very well. Also there is a metal base around the bed that we kept running into whenever we would want to get in bed. If it were a couple inches further under the bed I think that would be perfect. My only real complaint is, we ran out of shampoo as when we asked for more from the front desk they were rude and when they finally brought up a new bottle, about 30-40 minutes later, the woman was very rude. Other than that, the stay was pleasant. We were able to get to all the places we needed pretty quickly, breakfast was fast and easy and there was underground parking which was also nice.

Awesome breakfast. Crowded? Yes. People like to sleep in and eat waffles on vacation. There are three waffle makers. Plus hot breakfast. Did you walk around back to the patio? Secluded. Quiet. Trash cans available. Right next to the exercise room. I didn’t go in there, but many people did. I just saw their outlines because the glass is darkened so you can workout with privacy.
Clean spacious rooms. Microwave and fridge.
Four towels provided for four people. Unheard of at most hotels.
Every single employee working diligently. Housekeeping, breakfast staff.
Was it the newest? No. Was it walking distance to Target? Yes.
Pro tip, turn in South of Cane’s, not North. You’re welcome.
Would gladly stay here again. Not near the chaos of hotel drive. Easy to get to beaches & SeaWorld.

If I could give zero stars I would. Had a horrible experience and they have very bad customer service. Don't stay here! avoid at all costs. We booked a room overnight and when using the shower we discovered it was clogged. The tub would fill and you had to be in dirty tub water in order to shower and the water would not leave until 30 minutes after you were done showering. We called the front desk for someone to come fix it and they sent someone who checked it out and said that they would need to put chemicals and the only thing they could do since we were only staying overnight was to put a note stating we weren't responsible for the shower being clogged. We paid for our room, it's not like we got it for free. When you book a room you do so with the assumption that everything in it works, specially the shower. We were in disbelief that they're only solution was to not blame us for it. They didn't offer another room with a working shower or to fix the shower in the room they gave us. No one was able to shower after we discovered it was clogged. The next morning when checking out I spoke to a manager about it. And her solution was no refunds, and that she could give me a discount on our next stay, I told her we're never staying here again, and again asked for a partial refund. She stated they don't do refunds and that we could get some snacks from their snack bar. So beware! Don't come here unless you want chips as compensation for your horrible stay.

If you have a big truck parking can be difficult
So I’d recommend you find one during the day cause every spot gets full and you’ll have to park in the underground parking
It was a very tight space for my gmc sierra but I got in, it’s just a hassle
Overall the hotel was great

Do not stay here if you are traveling in a larger vehicle! Parking is very limited and was impossible for us. We ended up having to park our van at the Cane's across the street after about 45 minutes of maneuvering.
Located next to a 24/7 strip club if that's an issue for you.

The beds were comfortable. With the exception of a spider in the shower, the room was clean. The AC was cold, however the unit was a little loud. The mini fridge was not cool enough to store leftovers. The breakfast area was small, not enough room for people to sit. The lines to get breakfast weaved in and out of tables, way too crowded. The food was not great. The parking spaces facing the rooms were quite small, requiring one to back out the vehicle, before the doors could be opened wide enough to allow passengers in, however the spaces facing the brick wall were a little wider to allow the room for passengers to enter and exit vehicles.

This is a nice hidden gem, stayed here before heading out on a Cruise and it was very comfortable. Parking spaces felt a little tight, as most places do in the area, but there was good amount of parking available. The lot was monitored via cameras to ensure safety and the local area felt secure.
The beds were very comfortable allowing a pleasant and full night of rest. The rooms were larger than I was expecting which was great to allow us to have a few of us in the room to talk and not feel cramped; though, if you have a lot of luggage for several days with multiple people it may feel a little smaller. That being said, there is a good amount of space for storage so the space can be optimized. Lighting was plentiful and the room felt nice and bright.
The staff was very friendly on check-in and check-out and ensured to point out the hours for breakfast and explain the property. Felt like a good warm welcome.
The breakfast provided had a surprisingly large selection and seemed to have a little of everything.
As a bonus - for those that like Raising Caines, it's right across the street so a super easy walk for some delicious chicken tenders.

Wonderful service. Very friendly staff. They work hard. The breakfast was a little on the lean cheap side. I was in a wheelchair and it was very congested to try and get into the dining area and get your food. One area of concern, in front of our handicapped room is about a 12-in drop off on the other side of the walkway. An electric wheelchair or a regular wheelchair could it go off accidentally and hurt someone. Or someone could step off and hurt themselves. Maybe needs a rail there. Could be a huge liability to the property.

We used this room for an overnight stay at the tail end of a road trip. We checked in at about 11, took a quick shower, went to bed, woke up early and left. Jasper’s customer service at check-in was fantastic. We normally use 8-10 ratings as a threshold when choosing a hotel and it never steered me wrong, but it did this time! The hotel is extremely dated as if I was sleeping in a museum trying to preserve history, the floors were dirty, paint peeling, musty smell, extremely small rooms, lumpy beds, dirty tubs and sinks, but it got me some rest and back on the roads

The staff was helpful, friendly no matter the hour. The bed while firm, was very comfortable for a budget hotel option (more comfortable than some $400+ a night rooms I’ve stayed in tbh). Shower had fixtures that were coming off the wall but a) everything still worked and the water was nice and hot. Breakfast had a good variety and was replenished and kept very clean by the staff but definitely go earlier for more options and no line. Would recommend!

Check in was easy. The room was not the cleanest. Thin sheets. There was glitter on the two chairs in the room. The bed headboard had some sticky looking substance on it. The breakfast was bad (too salty) and VERY crowded (people were standing to eat). At $165/night, I would expect it to have been a cleaner experience.
