We stayed for 3 nights for vacationing in San Diego. Room was small. Bathroom was small. Floor was somewhat dirty (socks had dirt on bottom after walking around). Food from The Waffle Spot was delicious but they don’t deliver to your room. Staff was friendly and helpful, quick to meet our needs. While the pool was beautiful we did not use it during our vacation.

Unfortunately, the room did not smell fresh upon arrival. There was a strong, unpleasant odor immediately noticeable when walking into the room, which negatively impacted the first impression. Additionally, the rooms have laminate flooring, which made noise from the room above very noticeable. Footsteps and stomping from upstairs carried through clearly and affected the overall comfort of the stay.

When I booked the hotel thru expedia it did not state the there was no elevators and when I got there they were going to put my husband who is disabled and I on the second floor. When I voiced my concerns the staff right away acomidated us to the bottom floor. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay there. Thank you

Overall, our stay at Kings Inn was good. The location was convenient, the room was clean, and the staff was friendly.

The only downsides were that the bed wasn’t very comfortable, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep, and the room next to ours had a dog that barked frequently, which was disruptive.

Other than those two issues, we had a pleasant stay and would consider staying here again if those concerns were addressed.

It was very clean. The rooms were comfortable. The pool was great for the kids and the restaurant on site was delicious and convenient. Not to mention the staff was very nice and accommodating. It was a really good place to spend a few nights.

Great stay! Parking is normally available right outside the room which is super helpful. Didn’t get a chance to use the pool but it was super inviting. The waffle spot restaurant is located inside the lobby and perfect for a quick bite. The bathroom was a little cramped but the room itself was very spacious. Price was pretty good in comparison to other places around. Would definitely stay again!

The Kings Inn could use a deep cleaning along with a face lift. When I walked into the lobby, I experienced an unpleasant smell. The elevator was off-limits to guests, unless accompanied by housekeepers. The $15 parking fee (no security present in lot) coupled with boisterous neighboring room guests were noteworthy. At 1am, the desk clerk relocated me to a much quieter room. The furniture in my guest room wasn't in good shape. This motel is nearby various fast food outlets along with a shopping center, across the freeway, that featured a very well-provisioned 2-story Target.

This reminded me of a motel/hospital. The bathroom especially looked just like a hospital bathroom. There was a smell of mildew that hits you as soon as you walk in the tiny room, and although it's supposed to be a retro vibe, it just feels old. I'm not sure how it's rated so high.

Beautiful stay for a group of us, went to the Amigo Restaurant and service was poor. Had to get up and order our own drinks at bar, spent over $1000 for the night but pretty much served ourselves. Shots didn’t even taste like any alcohol in them. Otherwise stay was great.

I stayed here last night and had a good experience overall. The hotel has an older, old-fashioned look both on the outside and inside, but everything was very well maintained and taken care of. The room was clean and comfortable, and you could tell the staff keeps the property up despite the older style. The bathroom was very clean and looked good, and the beds and sheets were clean and comfortable as well.

The only thing I did not know ahead of time was that parking was an extra $15, which was not mentioned on Hotels.com, but it was all good because they had security checking the parking lot throughout the night which made it feel safe and secure. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I would stay here again.

Location was great. Clean inside rooms and property. Pool was a definite WIN!! The front desk staff (minus 1 young lady on Friday night) was AWESOME!! The gentleman was SUPER helpful & friendly. Went above and beyond for sure!!
And then…there was FIGHT:/ around 2am night 1 there was loud and obnoxious guests returning to their rooms. Very loudly. And night 3 of Sunday another round of obnoxious loud people. Glass breaking and eventually the police arriving. I didn’t get a good nights sleep 2 outta 3 nights but all else as mentioned was great.
Hope to know this isn’t the norm as my family and I would rebook.
Also - the restaurant was great. I also ordered delivery and that was great too!

Hope to know everything was ok with the obnoxious neighbors and sad it happened to ruin a great stay.

The room was very clean, a little small though. The tv was placed right in front of the mirror which was very strange. There was no comforter, just a blanket between two sheets. My husband and I got a room with 2 queen beds so we could STRETCH OUT! However, one of the beds felt like it was made of wood, zero give, not at all comfortable. We ended up cuddled up on the one bed anyway.
The staff was very nice and pleasant. They do not offer breakfast, but there's a restaurant on site. $45 breakfast for 2. But it was very good, seriously...try the waffles.
The main reason I will not be going back for future stays is the anti 420 stance. I'm 56 with a bad hip and that's my only pain relief. I'm not a rule breaker, so I did not vape on the property, but I wasn't happy with it.
This was also the very first time I have had to pay for parking at a hotel where I was staying.
Overall it's a cute place, a nicer than ordinary motel. Pay a little more and go with an actual hotel if you want my honest opinion.

Overall my stay was amazing and the environment and service was also good. There was a convenient store literally 1 min away so if you did need anything last minute that was there. I didnt dine in any of there restaurants that they have but im sure I wouldve enjoyed that aswell as it was pretty busy. The room was also well maintained and the tv provided Good channels. One thing I would say is that the Bathroom(Bathtub/ Shower) does need a little updating but the sink and the mirror was nice. Overall would recommend

60's motor hotel that has been well maintained with a solid love for the kitchiness of the era. Rooms have not been modernized but they are very well maintained with updated flooring and current furniture with USB ports built in.

I was gratified to see that the positive reviews were not exaggerated. My room was clean and well appointed. The only thing missing were some more USB ports--the electrical outlets in the nightstand were not tight and my plugs kept falling out. Luckily I found another tighter outlet to plug into. Wifi was not effective in the room and my Verizon signal was weak, too.

Almost got the poolside room but weather was looking bad so I opted for the \"executive suite\" with the king bed. They put me all the way in the back above the kitchen. Had a balcony but it was next to the exhaust fans. View of the parking lot and a bunch of industrial kitchen equipment that hummed all night long. Room was nice and clean but the ambiance was not executive

Eric experience with the Kings Inn was very positive. The room was spacious, very clean, plenty of towels. The cute retro refrigerator was nice, and the bed was comfortable. Guests received a 10% discount at the two different restaurants, and the pool and hot tub were very nice. The location was great, very close to the airport and San Diego sights, and there’s a cute little town just up the hill with lots of restaurants and bars.

One thing my wife, especially liked was that the bathroom lighting was excellent, as by comparison, some hotels have poor lighting in the bathroom in order to put on makeup, etc.

Parking was plentiful, but was $15 a day. That seemed a little high.

This is an excellent tourist hotel, great for kids, and affordable.

Overall, a great experience. We would definitely stay here again!

It’s 5 starts for the price. There are premium hotels around it for double the cost. Rooms were clean. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom has everything you need and was clean.
I didn’t use the pool but it’s big and looked good. SD weather didn’t allow it.
Breakfast wasn’t included but there’s a restaurant there and the coffee was good and the breakfast was excellent. Good Mexican breakfast!
If I had the stay in the area again, I’d pay half price again to stay with Kings
