I had only one problem. I blame the front desk. I was put on a floor for two nights with young kids all on my floor. I was awakened both days at 6 am. All heard was room doors opening and slamming shut. I heard the kids adult supervisor knocking on almost every door on the floor, saying what I thought was security. I thought we were being evacuated. We weren't I figured out she was telling these kids to go get on the bus. Why would the front desk put me on such a floor??? The hotel was not busy and I stay there a lot. My stay certainly was not restful. I had to go home to get sleep. Their needed to be more common sense from the front desk person. All I have to say is come on man or woman in this case. Might have to look for a different hotel.

The pool was great with lots of seating and a little bar where you could order snacks and drinks. Breakfast omelette was huge, I’m glad we decided to share it before we saw it! The room seemed clean but had a slight odour of mildew, so updates are definitely needed. They were also great letting us into our room early as it was ready.

Hidden gem. The layout was decent the food choices were good and friendly staff. Very clean but beds weren't very comfortable and a king size bed with two small full size bed pillows doesn't cut it. Parking was another story. The parking was $29 a night and available for public paid parking. Handicap parking was almost non existent and nowhere near the rooms. This place served our needs. I would recommend. It a 2 1/2 star hotel so no frills but very convenient.

Very nice and quiet stay. Great location- everything seemed to be a 15 minute drive away. Nice pool. Easy parking situation. Small bathroom but otherwise good room. Would stay again.

Rooms felt old and dingy. The photos tricked us. We paid extra for a room surrounding the pool like they have in the photos but got placed in some other room in a building down from the main office. Floor felt and looked perma dirty. Place could use a good update to match the advertising photos.

The rooms were so small, the bathroom was a joke, it didn’t even have a counter top. The images online versus what reality was completely different. The sheets were horrible felt like sand paper. Bath towels the same. There is no A/C and you can’t open any windows as they have security locks for safety measures due to crime in the area. We would not stay here again.

The rooms were very clean and well kept for an older property. The staff were great. The outdoor pool was larger than most places I have stayed in. Main issue was they had a restaurant but it closed and your only choice was the pool bar with a very small menu.

The hotel was perfect for a quick getaway! The pool area was a little oasis, the hot tub was the perfect temperature, the room was spotless, the bartender makes amazing drinks and the beds were comfortable! The only negative is that if you have loud neighbors the walls are a little thin. Luckily it was only one night.

Very disappointed with our stay at Handlery Hotel (4/9–4/12). It was nothing like advertised and far from the relaxing getaway we booked.

Our room was placed directly by a housekeeping closet. Every morning around 6:30–7:00 AM staff gathered there talking loudly, using phones, and slamming doors, waking us up daily. The walls were also very thin, so we heard loud neighboring guests late at night and a nearby dog left alone howling for long periods.

The room had multiple cleanliness issues: mold in the bathroom, bubbling wallpaper from moisture, dusty conditions, and a dirty balcony with cobwebs. We tried using the jacuzzi on day one, but it was extremely foamy and dirty, so we never used it again.

We asked to be moved shortly after check-in because of the room location and were told no. Later, an extra pillow delivered to us smelled strongly of body odor and was unusable.

We were also denied a hotel-offered amenity after staff asked if we booked through Expedia.

Most frustrating, after Expedia contacted the hotel, they denied any refund claiming we never complained. That is false. I raised concerns Thursday within 15 minutes of check-in and again Saturday afternoon. Same front desk employee both times, rude each time, and apparently documented nothing.

Dirty, noisy, poorly maintained, and poor customer service.

My family enjoyed the stay here over the weekend. We were in town for a basketball tournament and were still able to enjoy the pool which was warm. They also have fire places you can set up at and hang out. Room was very clean and AC stayed blowing cold. I don’t get to enjoy the bar areas but everything looked really nice. I will definitely be booking here again

People were screaming and fighting in the parking lot groups of people were sitting around smoking dope so never got to use the amenities. Rooms were horrible like something out of a bad rocky movie. Staff sat on the phone and were no help.

Hotel room sheets were so rough they felt more like a curtain than a sheet. Incredibly rough and itchy. Flooring was fake wood linoleum bubbling up in places shower was a low budget insert. This was clearly a 65 dollar a night room. I wouldn't recommend anyone stay here unless you like drunks drug addicts and fights outside your room. Avoid the elevator it smells like urine and clearly hasn't been cleaned in a LONG time.

We were not pleased with our stay. We were required to sign a waiver since we had our dog with us agreeing to a charge of $250 fee if the floor gets soiled from our dog. When we checked into the hotel room, there was a stain on the floor and I made sure to call the front desk so I was not charged. The bathroom towels also had stains and we were placed in a corner room with a fence as our view. The fridge is under the bed nightstand which is an odd place for a fridge. Staff not very friendly.

The room was clean, didn't really stay there just to sleep, due to exploring the area. The only issue I had was the drain stopper in the bathtub. It wouldn't stay up so it just filled up the tub with water while we used it. My husband use one of our kids toys to keep it up. Besides that it was quiet and everyone was nice. Pool looked really nice. I wish I had more time to spend some time at the pool.

We stayed with my family here for 4 nights, we enjoyed it and my kids loved the pool area swimming. The rooms are very clean and the staff cleaned it everyday and all the staff are nice. They have a restaurant, that we didn’t use but I have a couple of drinks at the bar that overlook the pool. The hot tub was nice and clean. Location was perfect for the attraction we were looking for. Highly recommend this hotel for families.

I recently stayed at the Handlery Hotel San Diego and overall had a decent experience, though there are definitely a few things to note.

The highlight of the stay was Jesus, our breakfast server—he was absolutely fantastic and truly made the experience memorable. Friendly, attentive, and welcoming, he stood out and elevated our mornings.

The hotel itself is reasonably priced, and parking was easy with convenient access to the lot at a fair rate, which was a big plus. However, the property is a bit dated and could really benefit from a refresh.

One disappointment was that the main dining area was closed during our stay. Only the poolside restaurant was available, which wasn’t very comfortable, as seating consisted of wooden picnic tables.

The bathrooms are also extremely small, which may be a concern for some guests.

Additionally, the hotel isn’t within comfortable walking distance to restaurants or attractions, so having a car is pretty much necessary.

Overall, it’s a decent stay for the price, with standout service from staff like Jesus, but improvements to the facilities and amenities would make a big difference.
