10th Flr room-2 queen beds:
bathroom gets 🌟🌟. Shower is tiny - shower floor very slippery/dangerous - glass shower door installed to gravity self-close is a finger breaker due to its weight.
Power cords/cable-wifi cords setup totally janky!! All knotted up & dangling in full view. So tacky. Free in room coffee brew device cheap, tiny and can only be used if you buy a small $6 bottle of Marriot’s water. Downstairs “Commuter/Computer Makeshift Guest Breakfast bar with no free coffee and no complimentary brkfst was kind of cheap feeling and disrespectful. Front parking lot and front entry drive very restrictive and dangerous with stalls only suitable for small economy cars and stalls were set in direct opposing positions making entry & backing out difficult.

We had to wait 45 minutes after checking in for a room (which was after 3pm). Then we went up and tried several times to open our room but the key didn’t work. After a few minutes someone opened the door to the room the front desk had written on our card and said they already had the room. I had to go back downstairs to the desk. They showed the room was empty and so the employee went up to the room personally to find it occupied. So needless to say it was a hectic first hour. Everything else was great.

Not clean room, also it was a bunch of hair of someone else in the bathroom before we use it. The bed it was really bad, like old... nobody do the room at the next day so i have to go to the lobby for pick up myself new towells. Theres a smell of marihuana on the walkinside rooms.

Really bad experience i dont gonna back and for sure im gonna tell my experiencie to my friends to advice them.

My first time traveling from the east coast all by myself. The staff from Rick to Oscar to JJ and Yesenia made me feel like family. Additionally,the restaurant staff is amazing at setting the tone for your morning. This Courtyard far exceeded my expectations. Would highly recommend nice team..I cannot forget to mention their 5 star plus treament.. Rick pops fresh popcorn super delicious and hot cocoa with marshmallows which fit owefect for a damo raining day. Nicely done!!!

Upon entering the lobby, I was immediately greeted by front desk. Checkin was smooth. The room was clean, spacious... basically immaculate! I travel frequently to SD and each time I stayed in different hotels. (Stayed at a different hotel in SD last week--I won't mention name--with higher rating but it was a disaster!) I am very particular when in hotels and have a discerning eye for detail and this hotel deserves better rating overall.

Stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott - San Diego Mission Valley for 9 days and would highly recommend to everyone! Front desk staff are so friendly and welcoming. We were greeted every time we entered the hotel and they were such a big help with an issue we encountered (not their fault) but they did everything to make it right. The hotel has an ample amount of parking and felt very safe with a gated entry/exit. I’ve seen some negative reviews on the price of parking but being from Hawai’i, that’s nothing new and almost every hotel in SD charges for parking. To add to the safety topic — you need your room key to go up or down in the elevator. I love that security measure. The rooms are very clean and up to date. Property has laundry facilities and the front desk can provide quarters ($5.00 to wash and dry). There’s a hotel bistro and bar (limited hours) that has decent food and isn’t overpriced, also a little snack shop with drinks, salads, wraps, sandwiches, some toiletries and a Starbucks machine that makes coffee, hot water and cocoa. Conveniently located off the freeway but the noise is NOT a problem, we didn’t hear anything. 10 minutes to most San Diego attractions. Also 5 minutes away from Target, lots of dining options, Mission Valley and Fashion Valley Mall. Definitely staying here again!

The staff were amazing. Very helpful and listened to the concerns and issues I ran across. The hotel itself may need to have an inspection because it is something that is way out of the hands of the staff and management. I was moved to another room due to lack of sleep because of a constant clicking/dripping sound that took place around 4am-6am. The new room I was moved to the bathroom smelled like raw sewage and there was a howling sound with something banging and making a screeching noise between 4am and 5am. There are some definite maintenance issues this hotel needs to address immediately on the 2nd floor. Rooms 230 and 228 need to be heavily inspected and checked out before another guest has the unfortunate pick of these 2 rooms.

The hotel it self was nice, clean and the staff were very nice and greeted you every time. It was unfortunate my stay during the night was uncomfortable and inconvenient.

Given that there isn’t enough room to type my whole issue. Website falsely advised what the rooms had. I booked a bedroom suite and had no hot water to shower for two days and the staff only offered me and family extra points. I have very young kids and I am not sure why they thought it was okay to shower in cold water. There was no sense of urgency to get the problem resolved. Since they were sold out all weekend they put us in a smaller room since they couldn’t get hot water. When we spoke to the agents inside the hotel it seem they were very unsure on what to do and kept giving us the run around. At the end of our stay they stated they compensated us for one day and waived parking for one day. Come to find out they didn’t, since I booked through a third party app they are telling me they received none of the information that I was provided. Sad to say but this was overall the worst experience, I travel over 5 hours to be in this city and I always stay at a Courtyard by Marriott and I never have issues with my stay or the staff. I felt this issue was handled very poorly. Not having hot or warm water and being told all other rooms have it, then being told because they have had several sports teams on site is causing for our room to not have proper running water. How does that happen? All 300 plus rooms have water but our one room doesn’t.. very ghetto!

A little shabby and showing its age. Pretty surprising for a Courtyard where I’ve had better experiences. No offsite parking at all. $30 a night surprise parking fee. Plus they charge you a deposit. Room was big. 24 hr gym. Pool too cold to swim in. Sofa and desk chair were stiff. The lighting is not great. The bedside lights are too bright. There’s no light that lights up the whole room. Just these pools of light here and there. Ask for a room that’s not on the freeway/noisier side!

We had such a wonderful stay here! The location was perfect , so close to everything we wanted to see and do. The staff were absolutely amazing, kind, welcoming, and so accommodating, especially for my fiancé’s birthday. They went above and beyond to make it feel special, and the thoughtful snacks and personal touches meant so much to us.
A special shout-out to JJ and Alex, who always greeted us with a smile and made us feel so welcome throughout our stay ; you two truly made our experience even better! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and everything felt effortless from start to finish. We’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a stay that’s both comfortable and full of heart.

I did enjoy my stay overall, it was very affordable and pleasant. I was very tired after traveling from so far to check in but due to it being so busy my room wasn’t ready yet. I spoke with a man named Tristan who helped my out and made my check in process very smooth so big thanks to him. My only dislike was the expensive daily car overnight car parking fee, I believe $30 a night for self park is steep personally.

The property was clean and the front desk staff was very friendly. I like the location as it is central to everything we wanted to do on our vacation. the view from the 9th floor was good. Our room could've used a little maintenance, for example the shower door handle was falling off, and the toilet paper holder was falling off the wall. Overall, it was about what I expected for the price.
