The staff seemed in need of training. Check-in was very long as the front desk people were unsure of what to do. Some of the wait staff were confused and seemed to have a difficult time organizing basic drink orders like a rum and coke, and the breakfast staff had difficulty getting coffee. Despite their challenges the staff were very polite and friendly. The buffet dinner was horrendously overpriced; nearly USD$100.00 for one person! The property itself is very beautiful, well-maintained and in a great location.

The property gardens are stunning. The food, even if they did not have a vast selection, was amazing.

The rooms could use a renovation. Nothing was broken or anything, but you could see the wear and tear on the furniture.

The other restaurants on site are excellent though and you have plenty of other choices in Flic N Flac, which is a short taxi ride away,

Good hotel but very expensive, on checking out my bill was incorrect but then corrected, eating options are limited by the restaurant opening hrs, I also found it very expensive to stay here and value for money was not good. I also had an issue with the taxi booking and was incorrectly charged and given incorrect information about the hotel taxi.

I have been staying at the Hilton Mauritius since 2008. It never disappointed me until this time. It started at check in when I had to ask multiple times about my Hilton Honors number being in the system. No welcome back verbally or by note. No extra special touches for Hilton Honors members like they did in the past. I used all the herbal tea in my room and it wasn't replenished. No hot water in my shower when i arrived at the hotel the first evening. After a wedding i believe Sunday night beer cans and glasses where still on the beach when i went walking at 7 am. It looked like a frat house. Compared to other neighboring hotels this looked messy. The erosion on the beach is getting worse. Nothing the hotel can do, its just sad. Overall the property has aged considerably. I always loved this hotel. I'm usually in Mauritius on Business and found this hotel to have a nice mix of people instead of strictly honeymooners.

The staff were some of the best I’ve ever come across at a hotel. Extremely welcoming, accommodating and friendly. Would highly recommend staying here if visiting Mauritius. The hotel has great links to the airport, and there are a range of things to do/see and eat with its three restaurant options (all of which serve extremely high quality food).

We had the most wonderful time during our stay. The property is amazing,situated on the beach.
The staff are friendly and always went above and beyond. Especially the guys working at the Hibiscus bar. (Abin,Vishof,Famles,Gilles and Ameer)
From a perfect barista cappuccino to a glass of Rosé or cocktail by the pool for sunset. Always friendly and professional.

We went for the New Year’s Eve celebrarion and booked a breakfast dinner package. We’re not fans of buffet but the food was excellent - quality, taste and variety - so we’re pleasantly surprised. Live music every night was ok, some nights better. Very friendly staff, high safety measures, decent amenities for a 5-star resort. Location is good but the beach section is narrow and stony. One needs to walk along the beach further south across a couple of resorts to find wide, quieter, more sandy beaches.

Очень странное место. Раньше было явно красиво. Территория большая, красивая и могла бы быть зеленой, если бы поливали. Но трава вся высохшая. Пляж тоже требует уборки от листьев. Вроде красиво, но не ухожено( Еда вкусная, но маленький выбор. Персонала почти нет. И он делится на 2 категории: почти все куда-то прячутся и только пару человек искренне пытаются помочь. Отдельное спасибо ребятам из бара у инфинити бассейна- очень вкусный кофе. И большой вопрос к менеджменту- что с питьевой водой в ресторанах? Пить невозможно - сильно отдает хлоркой!!! Если ехать издалека отдыхать - точно не сюда. Если по делам и не находиться постоянно в гостинице - то ок.

If you want to stay in Flic-en-Flac, stay here! The views are incredible - the view at the front of the hotel is almost unreal it is so beautiful. The views from our room were equally amazing - especially the sunsets.
The staff are really helpful.
The hotel is convenient for supermarkets etc. A great walk along the beach.
Breakfast is great! Very plentiful food.
The free water sports/ dolphin watching are well worth doing. Definitely do the sunset hike. The sunset views were well worth it!
The only issue we had was getting our room cleaned, as sometimes it wasn't cleaned by 3pm.
It really was the perfect location and we had the most wonderful holiday here.

Amazing hotel but needs refresh

The hotel and the staff is amazing, love architecture and low construct.
But, the hotel is in need of a little bit of refresh, or touch up in both the rooms and hotel area.
I would recommend the hotel, but personally I would say it's better suited for low season, when the price is more reasonable and a loooot fewer people.
I stayed for two weeks in a seaview doubleroom, by the infinity pool - which is also located further away from the nightly entertainment that could be quite loud if you have your room close.
And they don't need a band or DJ every night, sometimes we wished it would've just been a quiet evening by the bar / lounge / beach.

Setup to be amazing - currently lacking the edge

We had a good stay overall - there was just too many 1-star facets to recommend the Hilton with a lot of confidence. There were many pros during our stay such as great senior staff (such as Damian); food; facilities; and much more. We loved the room - very clean! You can see they are setup for success; but then there is clearly a gap in training and internal systems. There was a few let down moments which were very irritating with our expectations set on 5-star quality all the way... Junior staff were not trained well - there was literally daily miscommunication about resort activities, dinner and taxi arrangements. And for them to process something simple like adding a taxi to your room - took at least 5 minutes each time. There was also a case where their handyman were drilling in the room next to us on a Wednesday afternoon whilst we were sleeping; and where my wife's hairbrush just went missing after our room was cleaned - after reporting this we just got no response. @Hilton - you've got everything you need to be the best Hotel in Mauritius - train your newbies better and simplify your systems.

Lovely hotel along a fantastic beach.

The hotel is big but there was always free sunbeds along the beach and round the pools.

We never ate at the main restaurants but the food we ate on the beach and room service wasn't too bad.

Staff were all lovely and really friendly and the bars and entertainment are great each night.

The beach is amazing to walk along and the sea is super still and lovely to swim in, there is also great number of free water-sports for guests.

Most disappointing experience. Request was made to allocate junior suite room with ocean front for a honeymoon couple, but was allocated a room next to public beach. View was blocked by a line of boats parked in front of the room. Boats were not removed for four days even after making repetitive requests. Phone was not working which was repaired after complaint. Food was bad in all restaurants in the property. Had to walk to other properties to get some decent food. Room service was bad. No one from management talked to us before allocating the room to us.

This is a fantastic resort. Everything is up to the highest Hilton standards. My only small complaint would be that it is a little out of walking distance from the Flic en Flac main area. The breakfast buffet was the best breakfast i have had in Mauritius.

We spent two weeks here with our toddler daughter and were made to feel extremely welcome. The staff are incredibly friendly & helpful, always looking out for our daughter. They are so dedicated & hard-working, a credit to the Hilton brand.
My wife was very ill for 24hrs (nothing to do with hotel - she’s pregnant) and they arranged for a doctor to visit. They then sent a tray of food & fruit to help her recover. The chef offered to make special food for her. The rooms were kept very clean by cheerful staff and the boat house provided free snorkelling and dolphin watching excursions. The breakfast buffets were very varied & generous and my wife enjoyed the spa facilities. Our daughter loved the swimming pools and the special fire ceremony at 7pm each evening.
Sometimes the kids club wasn’t open as often as we’d like but the team were always so great with her. They really make the whole experience special. Thanks Hilton Mauritius!

Closeness to best beach is awesome but....

This was the worst Hilton I have stayed in and actually could not believe it was a Hilton hotel as very dated - twin room was nothing compared to picture and very dated. The Hotel service level is very mixed eg some staff brilliant and others rude and there was a lack of tidiness around pool and beach and not enough staff roaming to ask you if you want a drink poolside or beachside. Food was good but just overall comfort was not value for money - no shuttle bus to town square and had to taxi everywhere - little things you get at other resorts Hilton Mauritius can learn from eg complimentary items as you paid for everything...and please update twin rooms as very average.

- Check-In Process was smooth & easy

Negative:
-Overall food quality ( in all restaurant) including the buffet is not promising , and not as expected for a 5 Star Hotel.Variety of Restaurant as well is limited ( Two main restaurant) aside from the buffet.
-cleanliness of the beach is not the hotel top priority as i have seen other competitors cleaning their beach on a daily basis.
-No complementary daily water battle !. This has been the minimum norm on all hotel world wide , including some hilton hotels as well.
-The business center has Three physical PC's, out of which 1 is active , where Java program is not installed; thus not all websites are working properly .

Not quite what you've hoped for

Service here is amongst the worst we've ever seen, significant portion of staff seem to be outright miserable. Shame, as the place itself is not bad and some of the staff are actually very friendly. The hotel setting is well thought out and very nice. Sea swimming area is very narrow (10m) as boats have to pass. Note that the hotel is on a very shallow lagune, so if tides are unfavorable free trips at the boat house may leave at undesirable times You can do some snorkling, but bring your own kit to avoid leaky masks.

Were offered free drinks after a complaint about repeated bad and slow service at the bar - think 30 mins to first drink after getting the menu yourself - and the untidiness, this was not taken off the bill and was immediately put into question without checking by reception. The lady at check out threated us with such disdain and gave the feeling of being a pest rather than a customer and made us outright angry. I can go on at lenght, but eventually we were made to wait for the manager, which took so long we paid the b****y bottle so we could get out of there after 30min at reception.

The bathroom in our room was a bit worn. All cabinets in the room smelled of urine, informed the housekeeping, which cleaned, but smell came back.

Restaurants are OK, but nothing to write home about and very pricy (100EUR for buffet for 2 without drinks). I'd suggest breakfast only, outside you can have a better dinner for half the money.

Great hotel. Lives up to the Hilton brand name. There were other reviews about bad wifi? I moved to this hotel because I was staying at a neighbouring hotel and the wifi was awful. At the Hilton, the wifi is poor on the side of the hotel close to the Spa/gym. So ensure that you get a room on the side of the property with a decent signal.

We were there for 6 nights we cut it short by 1 night just to get out of there
The price of the meals were outrageous ate there 1 night only took taxi to other restaurants 1/3 the price
will never go back there ever again their thieves
the weather was freezing you could not get in the pool or sea
i complained and got no where

Nice 8 day stay at the Hilton however there are certainly areas of improvement. The staff were fairly loud when speaking so most mornings were woken up at 6.30am, on two occasions I literally went out to ask them to be quiet... (do not take room 2068 the passing traffic of people was extremely noisy). I didn't understand why throughout the day you had at least 5 lots of different people entering your room as they seem to have sets of people doing different house keeping jobs. On two occasions people walked in with us unaware .. not happy especially when your in the shower. Most staff were very pleasant. The Ginger Thai restaurant staff need to be taught about manners. When you are paying good money for a upmarket restaurant you expect a welcome hello etc not a napkin thrown on your knee wirh no warmth or welcoming feeling. As we paid for a summer / winter special stay I guess I accepted the above but believe me if I had paid full price I wouldn't be rating the Hilton as I have .

Great location for water sports. But is bit isolated, easily accessible by bus during the day.
Food is ok, but not great for pure vegetarians. Indian food should be included in the menu as many Indians travel on holiday and business. More restaurants should be added. Breakfast everyday was also very monotonous.
Staff was helpful & courteous.
Music show every evening was amazing.
Rum tasting sessions will entertain and help locals
Nice pools and serene ambiance.
Drinking Water was exceptionally costly but management understood our annoyance and acted accordingly.
Ceremony for Illumination of lights every evening was really amazing.
It’s time global hospitality brands learn how to pamper guests from Indian Hoteliers viz. Taj Group and Oberoi Group.
Kids Club was helpful.
Housekeeping didn't respond to a request promptly. Many lizards, chameleons are found due to greenery and the open beach, which is understood. But care should be taken that guests are not disturbed from these reptiles as far as possible. This is not a major issue but would scare kids.

One of the better hotels in the area.

I have stayed there before,staff are always very friendly .great value for money,in a quiet area.It is in a cluster of mainly 5 star hotels in a cul de sac right on the beach,not too far from restaurants.It has been renovated a few years back.I have stayed in 2 hotels similar,one next door the Sofitel which is showing its age and Le sands hotel,but by far the buffet breakfast included at the Hilton is superb.Of the 3 I would definitely stay at the Hilton.One little problem this time was the air conditioning leaked badly the night before I checked out,no major drama,could not be foreseen,machines will fail.Otherwise a great stay.

Service was fine. No complimentary water each day (only on first day). Food is overpriced and average at best. During xmas period we paid double for our rooms however you are still required to pay for coffee pods as opposed to sachet coffee. Having stayed at many 5 star hotels i feel this should included along with complimentary water. On the plus side the water activities were quite enjoyable.

OK but not great, no ocean view from room

Staff were great as was the beach, breakfast and the overall hotel facilities including pools.

However a few things let the hotel down. Our room didn't have an ocean view despite being advertised as such, the air con was louder than the noise when you sit on a plane (I could hear it through earplugs) and the electrical fan made a loud whiny noise too but it was impossible not to have them on. There were numerous local birdlife at the hotel which was nice to see in the garden but not so nife when they were eating the bread set out at breakfast, I even saw one perch on a glass of smoothie and dip it's beak in!

Unfortunately, I don't therefore think this hotel is great value for money.

Our stay was wonderful. Had to wait too long to check in and felt they could have done a better job explains the meal plans. The mgr. skope with us and was very accomadations and even gave us a free dinner. The beach was great,but best feature of this resort was all water sports were free. Loved the snorkeling and glass bottom boat. They even let us keep our room till 6:30 pm. It was very nice

very nice hotel with plenty to do perfect location

Thoroughly enjoyed stay .Staff so helpful & attentive .May be a little too much !! Woke us up on 2 occasions , once to present us with a welcome tray & once to provide night service of turning down the bed .We placed notice not to be disturbed outside door which they ignored . Complained to manager who dealt with it very efficiently .Thank you for providing us with this gem of hotels .

Great hotel but too expensive

The hotel is great, staff are friendly and very accommodating, rooms are clean, serviced twice daily, fantastic facilities. Lots of free watersports offered by the hotel, paddling, snorkelling, boat tours to see dolphins, kayak etc. The downside to this hotel is that the food and drinks are exceptionally expensive. You would normally expect that the food and drinks prices at the hotel to be a bit more expensive but not to this extent. Its close to flic and flac so we walked, took a bus/taxi to the restaurants in the town for dinner.

Ineffective noise management

Unfortunately we were given the side of the property that joins the public beach. The first night there was a loud disco. The third night we had a band playing bongo drums! We had to ask for a room move as the locals were chanting and beating beer bottles in beat to their loud music. The police were called but the noise didn't stop till 3am in the morning! I expected more from a Hilton hotel.
The hotel says don't drink the water and provides 1 bottle 350ml per person. Thereafter you can only get water from the mini-bar at $5 each. A 5 star hotel should either provide clean water or a free suitable alternative.
Also charged $40 for free wifi - provided free with booking. Took 15 minutes to get someone to make the decision to credit Overall nice property but appeared to have arrogant non involved management - not what you'd expect of a Hilton Plenty of alternatives of better service to choose from

Great hotel but non smokers beware!

Great hotel except one thing - they should not allow to smoke on a beach!!! It's terrible to lay down on the beach and the guy next to you is smoking. I suggested to them to designate smoking areas for the smokers.

Good hotel but sad service

Hotel is lovely but when you are not felt welcomed or you don't get service its no the best. No one will come to serve you. You need to do all yourself. Either staff are lazy or that's the culture of Mauritus. Not sure

I was staying here as a friend was getting married in Mauritius and I had such an amazing week. The facilities in the resort were perfect, the staff were so friendly and helpful and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Great hotel - gorgeous grounds and setting. The breakfast buffet is excellent with a wide choice. The free water sports (kayaking, snorkelling, water-skiing and many more) are a great bonus.

Lovely Resort with the each a stones throw away

Very helpful staff and the facilities/food were excellent.

Bit far from any local shops so have to take taxis most places which the hotel can provide although not cheap. Be aware after 6pm the rates go up.

The water activities the hotel provide are free and just have to book in some of them but they always have space and is a joy to experience!

Top service, comfy hotel, great beach location

Not your average Hilton: excellent service from arrival to departure with extra touches such as arrival cocktails. The staff were so friendly and seemed committed to providing an excellent service without the obvious push for a tip as you get in many hotels around the world. The room was excellent, serviced twice daily with superb views out to the ocean. We really enjoyed this hotel. Perhaps the one minor disappointment was the beach restaurant where we received a couple of mistaken orders, the staff never really appeared in control and it let the hotel down a little. that aside, an excellent hotel.

Lovely staff, great food, total relaxation.

We have just returned from a fantastic stay at the Hilton in Mauritius. The hotel's about an hour's walk from the town of Flic en Flac, but there are always plenty of taxis outside the hotel that will take you there. The secluded location makes this a very relaxing place to stay. Our room was large, with the biggest bed ever and spacious marble bathroom. We had a beautiful view from our balcony over the palm trees and manicured lawns to the beach. One note of caution: our duvets and pillows were all feather. I asked housekeeping to put extra covers on all the bedding and that improved my allergy a bit. The food at both breakfast and dinner was high quality, with a very wide choice. It's buffet style and there always seems to be a pasta, lots of fresh fish, plenty of beef options and lots of Chinese dishes and salad. The desserts are delicious and equally varied. The reason we chose this hotel was because of the free watersports right on the hotel's beach. The boat house guys were absolutely great, especially on the final day of our holiday when my fiancé broke his ankle in the water (he twisted his ankle stepping off his SUP). The boat house guys got him up the beach and to the medical room with speed and professionalism and were really concerned. I can't praise them enough. Also Shyama, the hotel nurse was exceptionally caring and lovely. We're booking for next summer.

Nice hotel right on beach

Hotel was value for money,the staff were very friendly and had this amazing greeting which the Muslim people use,a hand gesture to the chest which is very respectful and courteous to all.the facilities were very nice.In one week I had stayed 3 days at Le sands hotel nearby,Sofitel next door,but the Hilton was the better hotel where I stayed for 3 nights.The food choices for buffet breakfast was excellent.Overall a pleasant stay

Lovely hotel with great staff and delicious food

Hilton Mauritius Resourt & Spa is an absolutely lovely hotel, great beach location, beautiful setting, excellent facilities and staff and delicious food. We also had an event at the hotel conference centre and I can't recommend it enough, not your typical formal experience, we had amazing lunches right on the beach and the food at the coffee breaks was great.
