Great five day stay

Delightful five day stay on a business trip. Rental car was useful as the hotel is fairly remote and there is lots to do nearby. Free green fees at the Tamarina golf course were fantastic, i loved the course. Deluxe beachfront room was very nice, although the mosquitos were annoying on the balcony. Room was clean and service was excellent.

Me and my boyfriend stayed for 10 nights at Tamarina, and we had the most wonderful time! Our main purpose of the trip was to play golf and relax, and Tamarina was the perfect place for just that!

The golf course was long with beautiful surroundings.
We had some warm days, but the marshals came out with ice tea and wet towels. After 18 holes we could relax at the wonderful golf restaurant with lovely staff and good salads. The golf club even kept our bags during the stay so that we did not have to bring it back to the hotel with the shuttle. One extra plus was that the all inclusive package covered the golf restaurant as well.

The hotel restaurant served breakfast with an ocean view, and got us gluten free bread every morning. In the evening we stopped by the bar before having dinner. The staff in the restaurant and bar were so wonderful and friendly! They made sure that we had a good time during the evening. They even prepared special meals and special cocktails for us during some evenings.

The hotel room was ok, with a large balcony. The WIFI was however not very strong.

Overall our stay was wonderful and If we could we would go back!

Stay at Tamrina

The hotel is located on west cost, there are multiple pools in the property and couple are facing the sea. The setup is very neat and clean. Rooms are little small but very comfortable. Only few rooms are facing the sea, we got one which was facing the pool and garden.
The check-in was very quick; Girish took care of it.
Only sad part was an incident, where we took couple umbrellas from reception, left them at the restaurant and when we returned to take pick them up, they were gone and we were charged for them.

Front desk and restaurant service was excellent. Bathroom toiletries should be refreshed daily. Had to leave at 6am to catch a flight and they offered me some cold fare though there was no room service. Would love to revisit. Excellent value.

Not so good, fridge was broken in room and leaked on the floor constantly, WiFi was terrible, bed was so uncomfortable that I had back ache each day, no hot water in bathroom... only mildly luke warm at best, took almost an hour to get ice to the room after repetitive requests, and it seems that from being a leading resort, that over time complacencies have crept in and no updating or improvements to the facilities have been priority for the hotel.

You have been warned

We did not enjoy our stay at this hotel. The reasons being as follows.
Algae on the bottom of pool.
Noisy A/C and fan in bedroom.
Cockroaches in bedroom.
Ants and birds feeding on buffet .
On a positive note nandini front of house did all she could do to try to improve our experience. Moved to a slightly better room and bottle of wine.

Staff with genuine ownership and pride

Have spent the last 8 months on island. Visit resorts on weekends, really taken aback with level of caring and responsibility of staff- from Esthelle at checkin, waiters, cleaning staff, and manager Veer. Superb hospitality. Large room. Could only reserve one night- very easy place (and great value) to stay for many nights. We left after a wonderful, unhurried night—-wanting much more!

Whilst the location and facilities is great, being remote, the hotel needs to look into the inflexible rules for meals. Set dinners and buffets is not everyone's choice. It could do with a coffee shop where customers can have simple meals, burgers etc., if they so desire. There should at least be complimentary water in the rooms. Good for customers who are on full board I suppose.

I would stay here again in a heart beat. The team at Tamarina are the BEST ! I was made to feel so unbelievably welcome and I enjoyed every moment of my stay. The rooms are large, spacious, well kept and all have great views. There are lots of swimming pools and a beautiful beachfront. The F&B team are exceptional and the food is delicious. You can't go wrong here.

The hotel is in very nice garden and has lovely beach. Rooms are already outdated for 4 star hotel. Major issue is the every day noise from construction site right next to the rooms at the garden. Since we were with little kid we had to sometimes take out used nappies ourselves. Facilities are not very suitable for families with little kids (no kids poll, lot of stairs etc). Food was very good, F&B manager was very kind and caring. The location of the hotel is quite isolated so you need a car if you want to move around. The beach is suitable for surfing as there is not coral reef. We got some big waves during our stay. View from restaurant is beautiful.

Lovely hotel near the beach

My husband and I spent a week here at the end of February. The hotel is secluded and down a long road which makes it very relaxing and quiet. The hotel grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The rooms are spacious and clean and serviced every day. There is a lovely beach and we went for lovely walks evryday. The food is amazing. We enjoyed every meal we had. The staff are friendly and polite. If you are looking for somewhere relaxing this is the hotel for you.

Great looks but needs to improve hygiene

We decided to stay one night and although the hotel looks great and has a wonderful swimmable beach with nice waves and nice pools we didnt appreciate the hygiene of the hotel. Too many flies, mosquitoes and birds at breakfast.

gluten free/food allergy - no worries @ Tamarina!

Really nice, very friendly quite small hotel on a lovely part of the coast with its own sheltered part of the beach.(relatively hawker free)
The main restaurant was really excellent and far from the typical half board/all inclusive. We travel with 2 gluten free teenagers which in a country like Mauritius can be difficult. The catering staff led by Chef Eric and the fantastic hospitality team led by Hans went out of their way to make sure that food was a pleasure not a problem. They established the boys preferences and cooked to order including delicious gluten free pancakes for breakfast.

Secluded Hotel

The hotel is situated in a private area of Mauritius away from the hustle and bustle of Port Louis. Very good facilities for a few days, with nice beach sofas and great views. As with all my experiences in Mauritius, the staff aren't the most polite, but it seems to be endemic to the island. I did get food poisoning the first night's stay, so didn't get to enjoy the amenities of the hotel as much as I would have liked/paid for.

Great hotel in a quite area

Hotel is very nice, in a quite area. Rooms are big and all facing the garden and the sea. There is no noise from outside. Breakfast and dinner are very good. The view to the beach is beautiful.internet is ok, bed is comfortable with a big balcony. This is the best hotel in the area.

The hotel was in an out of the way location so you ideally need a car to get around. Staff are helpful. We were a little disappointed in the food here after staying in another boutique hotel at the other side of the island . Rooms were lovely and clean. Pool and beach was great and we went on a dolphin trip which is well worth the money.

Tamarina is a great hotel if you want a good location, multiple pools, private beach, and a golf course. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a bit old but the sizes are big. Access to the hotel is through a side road that comes off the main highway. The location is ideal if you have a car there are good beaches, restaurants, malls, and clubs nearby. It's good to stay here and explore the West, South, and Northern parts of the island.

The staff are OK.....It is essentially a Franco Mauritian hotel. The food is well below average....I would love to have got into the kitchen and shown them how to cook.Food in Mauritius is seriously disappointing and overpriced nowhere more than this hotel.Even the Mauritian dishes are bad and there is no excuse for that.That other guests did not seem to mind the awful food is amazing. Much meat and fish and seafood is imported this is a great shame. The meat from Australia is generally good.The seafood does not travel well and is appalling...this from a tropical island.! Once upon a time Mauritius had magnificent seafood and wonderful home cooking..thats gone with a lot else of beauty on the island which seems to be most interested in making lots of money and destroying the island in the process.Clearly the money does not go to the many poor people on the island.

Manager also had times wrong on dolphin trip...even though that's the number one draw for the area!

An exquisite getaway

The west coast of Mauritius is synonymous with luxury and tranquility, yet this boutique hotel sets itself apart from Flic en Flac's hotel offers. That the hotel is smaller than the likes of Westin, Hilton, Intercontinental is actually a greater advantage. It meant the staff were more personable and available during our two night stay.
One small blip was that one of the room had not been cleaned, but this was quickly rectified.
That remains the only blip. The design of Tamarina is breathtaking, with family pools behind each room apartment, a bar pool and one by the beach itself.
Food choice is varied and cooked very well, with different themes each night. Breakfast is also varied in choice. Drinks remain competively priced and a good selection is available.
What sets this hotel to be world class though, is the Accacia spa and massage, and golf course and restaurant. Complete and utter tranquility.
If you're looking to enjoy an incredibly relaxing holiday that intermingles with the best of what Mauritius offers then you can either enjoy as a couple or with the family. The hotel is not too remote either, as the nearby Casela adventure park or Cascavelle shopping centre can be accessed by a taxi ride.
Overall, highly recommend.

Very quiet hotel - good for a few days stay only

Having stayed at around 25 hotels on the island, I was a little disappointed with Tamarina Hotel, we took our 16 and 17 year olds for the first time and the hotel was very quiet with little (although well cooked) choice on the food. As we went all-inclusive it was difficult to then experience outside the hotel as the cost of the All-Incl was very expensive.

The 3KM drive from the road to the hotel would be ok if there wasnt so many pot holes in the ground which means going at a very slow pace (takes about 30 min)
The beach and water sports are minimal (compared to other offerings) too

The golf credit only covers you for the green fees - it is 1,600 rupees (about £30) for a buggy and almost impossible to walk the course so you will always take the buggy

The staff did try their best to make up for this but the difference between B&B and All Inclusive was almost £2,000 - I would only recommend this hotel on the B&B basis and say travel around the island as can easily eat at other hotels in the evening

Same for the golf - the island has too much to offer to tie into one course

Located on on of the best bays on the West coast. Ideal if the need is for resort hotel that one stays within and uses the in house facilities.P It is not suitable as a base for exploring the island. Rooms are well appointed, quiet and large. The restaurant is beautifully layed out and is positioned overlooking the bay. However, the food is of very variable quality which can a problem given that access to other restaurants requires a vehicle journey. Given the room rate one would expect better.

Nice hotel at a reasonable price

Stayed for 4 days with my family. A picture postcard location with a surfing beach on one side and mountains on another a view to die for. Rooms are clean but very few of them have a good view. One would have to go to the reatraunt to enjoy the view. Staff are friendly. Very limited options in veg food otherwise a good selection. It's very isolated from civilisation. The nearest shop is about 10 kms away . So to venture out one has to take a taxi . Located near casela nature park which is a bonus .

Stayed in Tamarina Hotel with the all inclusive package and would highly recommend that visitors opt for this package - as it's a resort, there's no shops nearby and will require an expensive taxi ride to go outside (saying that, this applies to all resorts). Our all inclusive package covered 3 meals a day, drinks (some drinks come at a supplement) and a 45 minute spa treatment everyday (except on the day of arrival and departure). The spa treatments was fantastic! We was so relaxed after the treatments! Our all inclusive package also included free entrance to the Casela Nature Park as well as the shuttle service there and back, this was so convenient! Staff were attentive and very friendly, they ensured that everything was ok with your stay everyday - could not fault the staff. Great job!

Room was clean and the staff was very kind; they loved our baby and helped us all around with him. We had a problem when we arrived at the hotel as our room was not ready but they already arranged us another one for 1 night and then gave us a very good room over the pools and beach with excellent view. The all-inclusive package include either golf or SPA. We went for the SPA and massages were very good (one a day). Drinks and food are good for an all-inclusive package. The beach is better on the surrounding hotels though but still very nice.

Tamarina Boutique Hotel, Golf and Spa...

Super place. Super facilities. Great location. Beautiful views. Lovely beach and ocean. Lovely activities handled by nice people. Wonderful challenging and interesting golf course. Very luxurious experience indeed. Lovely rooms. Beautiful swimming pools. Great proximity and integration to Casela nature Park which is a wonderful experience indeed. We also loved the Dolphin spotting trip which was lovely.

The only negative is that they really should create proper options for a la carte dining with a reasonably detailed menu at the restaurant instead of having only Table D Hote and Buffet which may not appeal to everyone.

The glass bottom boat experience could be better, with a better quality boat along with provision of an underwater viewing scope. Snorkelling options should be available closer to the shore in the shallows, for novices.

I would go better than the expedia rating of four stars and I would rate this hotel with four and a half stars basis mine and my wife's experience this last few days. The extra half star which will make it a full five star property, will only come if the meal options above are provided to the guests.

Wonderful hotel, especially if you are a couple. Very romantic. I was there by myself so felt a little out of place surrounded by all the couples. The beach is beautiful but it is really just beach+spa+golf course, so doesn't have the variety of other more general hotels. I was there on half-board and found drinks etc... rather expensive but the staff are very friendly and I really enjoyed myself. Not very much in the way of nightlife around though...

Wonderful chilled holiday! Hotel was all that we expected, clean, well maintained, stylish and a great location. Our room had a beautiful view of the pool and the beach. The staff in all areas were professional and very friendly and added to our holiday experience. Would recommend you opt for the all inclusive as the food was restaurant quality, tasty, varied and plentiful and available all day! There was a good cocktail menu and I never had to carry my purse! We chose the spa package and had treatments every day (again by lovely professional staff) absolute bliss! This hotel was quiet and chilled not really suitable for children or teenagers.

The Tamarina Spa and Golf Hotel is a small resort with a very individual athmosphere and housekeeping. The stuff is always friendly and helpful and is trying to satisfy you in any way. The kitchen is excellent.
The beach is nice and good for swimming if the waves are not too high. for young kids it might be a little bit dangerous. There are no other bigger hotels at the beach but a few local people who are surfing in the bay which is giving a nice and relaxed athmoshere.

Rest in this hotel from 21 to 28 November 2011. This hotel is very decent. Located in a quiet place. A very beautiful beach. To enter the ocean special footwear is not required. The staff are friendly. In all trying to help. Meals were taken by the system \"all inclusive\". Variety of food was no different, but always it was delicious. Wi-Fi free in the reception area and in the main restaurant. The hotel provides complimentary shuttle service to Casela Park. At the same time, for hotel guests free entry there.
Conclusion: We have a fantastic week! The result was a colorful and emotional relaxation. I am pleased to return to this hotel again!
For those seeking a quiet and measured rest Tamarina Hotel is a great option!

Schöne, große Zimmer. Die Anlage selbst ist ok, sensationell ist aber die Lage an einen tollen Strand, auch wenn nur ein ganz kleiner Strandabschnitt zum Hotel gehört, und der Restaurantbereich direkt am Meer.
Die Qualität der angebotenen Buffets war gut und der Umfang absolut ausreichend.
Sehr schade war, dass es für Vegetarier kaum Auswahl gab - an einem Abend nur Suppe und Salat. Das Personal im Restaurant ist sehr aufmerksam und service-orientiert.
In unserem Zimmer wurden zwar die Betten gemacht, aber weder das Bad geputzt, Toilettenpapier aufgefüllt, noch die benutzten Trinkgläser durch saubere ersetzt.

Das Personal ist hinsichtlich des Services ziemlich ungeschult. Beim Essen wussten sie nicht wann man einen Teller abserviert. Oft mussten wir lange warten um etwas zum trinken zu bekommen bzw um etwas zum trinken bestellen zu können. Einzelne Personen haben sich aber sehr bemüht. Das Essen war nicht sehr abwechslungsreich und auch nicht sehr gut. In zwei Wochen haben wir immer nur ein und den selben Fisch beim Buffet bekommen. Beim Checkin haben wir, da wir in der Früh angekommen sind, bis 14 Uhr auf unser Zimmer warten müssen, obwohl man uns früher eines zugesagt hatte. Als Entschädigung haben wir dann eine 1/2 Stunde Massage gratis bekommen.

Heerlijk verblijf en een mooie uitdagende golfbaan

Tamarina Golf Resort is een goed verblijf. Zeker als je een golfliefhebber bent. Je eordt met een eigen shuttle naar het golfterrein gebracht en ook weer opgehaald. Het buffet is goed. De kamers zijn ook goed, zeker degene met een Seaview. Verl verschillende zwembaden.

Hotel a éviter et situé dans une zone hyper reculée avec rien aux alentours. L’hôtel est vraiment indigne d'un 4* malheureusement et il s'agit vraiment d'un commentaire objectif. Rapport qualité prix plus que douteux vu les 135 eur/nuit payés. Ma deuxième semaine a Maurice je l'ai passée au sofitel non loin de la et du coup j'ai sauvé mon séjour! Restauration médiocre sans réel choix+ chambre relativement sommaire et même un peu sale par endroit + isolement total = un hôtel a vraiment éviter. Le seul point positif est la possibilité d’entrée au arc animalier compris dans le prix mais franchement c'est tout ce que je vois comme aspect positif a cet hôtel somme toute médiocre.

y a beaucoup mieux a Maurice

Hotel a rénover .... construction en face , debout à 7h, ne mérite pas toutes ces étoiles , A éviter y'a beaucoup mieux a Maurice et meme pour moins cher.
Literie a revoir très vite.... Le Golf et son personnel est a l'image de tout ce que le rejette : PUANT .....
Coté positif, un personnel accueillant et souriant et restauration correcte.

le site est magnifique et la plage aussi
Par contre la vue de la chambre sur des travaux et un batiment en construction ne mérite pas ce prix la.
Ensuite la qualité du repas pris au restaurant sur la plage laisse a désirer les frito misto =de mauvais qualité malgré un service très correct

Tolles Hotel - nicht der beste Strand

Hotel liegt an einer sehr ruhigen Lage und da es wenig Zimmer hat, sehr ideal für Erholungsurlaub. Frühstück- und Abendessen mit abwechslungsreichen Buffet. Hotel-Personal nicht immer effizient und schnell. Zimmer geräumig und sauber aber bei uns erst ab 17 Uhr verfügbar. Alles in allem gutes Hotel, leider jedoch nicht am Traumatrand von Mauritius (da nicht von Riff geschützt).

Siamo appena rientrati da una vacanza di otto giorni in questo hotel. Mare non particolarmente bello ma divertente per le onde. Dovrebbero pulire di piu' la spiaggia (un cesto pieno di rifiuti dopo la notte di Capodanno, solo dopo diverse rimostranze degli Ospiti ê stato rimosso, salvo scoprire che era solo stato spostato di qualche metro più in lá dove è rimasto per altri due giorni. Personale disponibile ma non tutto all'altezza e spesso molto lento (eccellenti Asha e Ram). Pochi posacenere in giro e nessun cestino. Camera buona. Flessibilitá da parte dello chef nell'accontentare le nostre richieste ma poca varietá nei piatti. Pur avendo fatto la mezza pensione l'acqua era a pagamento.

自然豊かな海辺のホテル

ホテルの敷地内では毎日トカゲ、カエル、カタツムリなどが見られ、自然好きな人には良い。ビュッフェに飽きないか心配だったが、夕食は毎日フレンチ、バーベキュー、中華、インドという感じで、メニューが変わり、悪くなかった。海はやや波が高い地形で、小さい子には入りにくいかもしれない。近くに動物園とショッピングモールがあるので、これらを利用するには便利な立地。不満だった点は、バスタブがないこととハウスキーピングがいい加減だったところ。
