While the location is fabulous, the age of the property is obvious in the fixtures in room. Additionally, the team is very disconnected, for a property of this caliber, we typically see a team much more in tune. We had a driver scheduled that then was cancelled, a team member tell us we had eaten breakfast, but we had not and overall, the team just seemed confused. The front desk was amazing as was the housekeeper on our floor, but balance of team could potentially benefit from additional training.

This property is bay over rated compared to the service provided. The breakfast brunch buffet was okay and on our bedroom balcony, there was bird poops which they didn’t clean. They even leave a regular package that any hotels leave ie tooth brush, … we paid 1500& per night for this hotel during Christmas time but extremely over-rated compared to the service provided

Charming “Old Hollywood beach vib’n hotel” with friendly staff that go beyond to make your stay memorable. FFiona surprised us with bubbles and chocolate for our anniversary. Oceanfront rooms definitely worth it. Sunsets from the patio or Camps beach are truly spectacular. Lionshead, table mountain and the apostles are the backdrop. And an awesome variety of restaurants just steps away. One of the best places to stay in Capetown.

We had such a wonderful time at The Bay Hotel. Upon check-in, concierge was kind enough to walk us through our cabana, ensuring we were comfortable. The room smelled amazing and was super clean. We enjoyed wine on the patio and enjoyed a few sunsets from it. The bar on site was lovely for a warm and cozy nightcap. Security always present on site by the entrance which was great. Wrong room , twice the price.
We had stayed here a few nights before this and our stay was amazing. However, over the weekend someone dropped the ball. I was given the wrong room( a worse room than I had originally booked).It was akin to a staff room. When expressing my grievance it seemed like no one knew what was going on. The next day i was given my correct room but then charged for it , having already paid for my room before arrival.
The management tried their best to assist and have me a meal voucher as recompense but I was very unhappy with how everything unfolded.

This hotel is central camps bay. The room was spacious and comfortable. The view was amazing with a balcony that overlooked the pool and the ocean. If you’re looking for a beach vaca spot this is it!!

Staff was amazing! We booked two rooms (family of four) and they allowed us to change to a family suite. The staff was amazing! The hotel is beautiful. Breakfast is excellent. We used the hotel driver, great service in amazing vehicles. We felt safe inside and around the property. Definitely recommend for families with kids. Plenty of pools and rooms with pool access.

The room was well equipped and kept immaculate by the daily housekeepers.

We loved our stay at The Bay Hotel! We stayed here on the last night of our 3 week honeymoon and it was the most perfect and relaxing end to our adventure. The room was trendy and modern and very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing, the staff were amazing, the pool and the proximity to the beach (right across the street) were all amazing. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Bay Hotel to anyone visiting Camps Bay and hope to stay here again myself in the future.

It’s a nice place and a great location. But the new renovations have this shower that is small and too far open. It just leaks water all over the place and is hard to use. My partner slipped and fell in the bathroom. We ended up just using the bath (which was nice). The bedroom area is real nice though. Also the power went out on us all night and the staff wasn’t aware. I do think this is a decent place, it just needs a little revision in the bathroom.

To be honest, considering this was a 5 star hotel, we found it really lacking in amenities representing that level of quality and luxury - bed was extremely hard, carpet floors, small bathroom, obstructed view in a mountain view room. We would probably not consider staying here again.

Amazing location. Pool was great. They staff agreed to let me have a late checkout, then later explained this was in error and threatened to charge an additional day. They also said they would organize to separate the two single beds which were made up as a large bed. We left and on arriving back late, this was never done. It was a minor inconvenience but the expectations were higher at this price point.

Staff are exceptional. Location is ideal but it looks like owners are skimping on maintenance. Metal step trim held in place with mailing tape. Wifi unstable and often chronically slow even by SA standards. These are not huge problems; they are typical of many hotels that are not subject to the discipline of a major hotel brand.
