Absolute paradise of a location!! The views are spectacular and there is wildlife everywhere you look. The sea is crystal clear and amazing for snorkelling in the shallow reefs with so much wildlife and different ecosystems. The room was perfect for us , we stayed in a sunset junior suite with a beautiful balcony, sea views and a massive bath! The cleaning staff were great, we never had any issues with hygiene. The food was very decent and a lot of options for different eaters, the seafood is a standout. The only real negative is the lack of entertainment. We were there early February and it seemed to us on most weekdays there was no entertainment, and the ones we did have of a weekend was of a lower standard than were used to. Having stayed at Lux Belle Mare a year ago, we were surprised with the difference in entertainment. If you want quality live music of an evening choose Lux Belle Mare as there is more of an active evening scene, but if you’re looking for a very calming and slower paced holiday choose here! We would still give this hotel 5 stars, and we got engaged here in the treehouse which I would pick for any romantic celebration. The celebrations centre performed outstandingly, as all staff here do, and couldn’t have asked for a better way to propose to my now fiancé.

Lux le Morne est un très beau et chic complexe de 149 chambres niché dans un beau parc tropical , au pied du Morne et ourlé par une magnifique plage de sable blanc.
Rien à dire de l'accueil toujours poli et prévenant , de la qualité des chambres à la déco moderne chic et des services , de la qualité de l'eau des piscines et de la mer. Le petit déjeuner est excellent , mais un bémol pour les buffets du soir au Kitchen qui sont de qualité variable quoiqu'on trouve toujours de quoi se satisfaire vu la variété des mets. On peut diner dans un des 3 autres restaurants ( un méditerranéen et un japonais notamment ) avec une réduction de 30% si on est en demi pension, mais nous n'avons pas testé car comme dans d'autres hôtels de l'Ile , il aurait été plus incitatif d'y proposer un menu compris dans la demi pension. Nous avons en revanche bien profité du spa qui délivre des soins de qualité.
Globalement , une bonne adresse dans le sud ouest de Maurice qui ne manque pas d'offre de qualité.

Excellent hotel in a stunning location

We had a wonderful stay at Lux Le Morne Mauritius. The hotel is excellent, spotlessly clean, and set on a truly beautiful beach with breathtaking views.

One of the highlights of our trip was swimming with wild dolphins — absolutely well worth doing and an unforgettable experience.

I would definitely recommend spending the extra for an ocean view room; waking up to that view really added something special to our stay.

The restaurant was very good overall, although a few more themed evenings would be welcome, especially for guests staying for two weeks or longer.

The staff were amazing, particularly in the restaurant. They shared great tips about the island, made us laugh, and even brought us bowls of fresh lychees at breakfast — such a lovely touch. A special thank you to Cindy and Viswanee for making our stay even more memorable.

We would happily return and highly recommend this hotel.

A honeymoon to remember, for all the wrong reasons!

We booked a sunset suite which was unfortunately very dirty on arrival with a view of the back of a restaurant, no sunset! Hotel was full so ended up being downgraded to a basic room!

Overall we found the service very poor in some areas of the hotel, particularly breakfast.

Towels are on sun beds at 8am which doesn’t set a nice tone! Have to book restaurants in advance too.

Spa was very tired and not reflective of 5* hotel but spa treatments were enjoyable.

Hotel ruined our laundry! Which was the cherry on top of our stay.

Not sure where this hotel has so many excellent reviews. Unfortunately this was a very disappointing honeymoon, that did not live up to our expectations.

We had a fantastic stay from start to finish as a party of 10 from grandparents down to young grandchildren. We were made to feel very welcome and the staff were superb especially with the young children. The food and service was great and the location exceptional. We cannot recommend the hotel highly enough.

The hotel is in a beautiful location and the amenities and setting are in tune with nature. It's a great place to stay and relax. Our top deck chalet room was 20 metres from the beach and 15 metres from the restaurant. Just perfect to zone out and chill for a week.The staff were great, attentive and helpful when needed and never too forward. Food excellent, plenty of choice - just a great week in a fabulous location. Venture out into the national park or take a glass bottom boat to interrupt the beach time.
HIGHLY recommended - hotel and location.

Our stay at LUX* Le Morne was simply incredible. the best experience we've had in Mauritius, far exceeding all expectations.

We stayed in a Deluxe Room on the ground floor, which was spacious, stylish, and perfectly located near the gardens, pool, and beach. Dining at The Kitchen was a highlight, with outstanding breakfast and themed dinner buffets. A special mention to Chef Vishal for their exceptional dishes and personal touches. The Indo-Mauritian night was especially memorable.

Evenings were magical with sunsets over the Indian Ocean, live music, and local rum at the bar. The grounds were immaculate, the beach stunning and uncrowded, and the service flawless—from poolside drinks to spa treatments and thoughtful room care.

What truly set LUX\* Le Morne apart was the warmth, friendliness, and attentiveness of every staff member. From the welcome at reception to the restaurant and bar teams to the special touches from the Housekeeping teams. Every interaction made us feel like family.

We are so grateful to the entire LUX\* Le Morne team and can’t wait to return.

We had the absolute pleasure of getting married at Lux Le Morne, and it was truly one of the best experiences of our lives. Travelling to Mauritius to get married just the two of us felt like a big step, and we were initially a little nervous about whether we’d chosen the right place. But we didn’t need to worry. From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel completely at ease and supported us every step of the way.

A special thank you to Manie, Hermant, and Bianca from Celebration Corner. They were outstanding. Every detail had been thought through with such care, and their warmth and professionalism made the whole experience feel effortless and personal. Hermant’s photography skills are second to none. He captured our day so naturally and beautifully, and gave us memories we’ll treasure forever.

One of the standout moments was our private wedding meal in the treehouse on the beach. The setting was magical, and it was made even more special by our brilliant waiter, Neelesh, whose friendly and attentive service made the evening unforgettable.

We genuinely loved every minute of our time at Lux Le Morne. It’s a place full of beauty, calm, and heart, and we’ll always look back on it with the happiest of memories.

Beautiful property, wonderful staff. Location wise it feels like you’re isolated and away from everything. But if you’re staying for a couple of nights there is enough restaurants and food options but if you want to explore beyond the hotel you’ll have to go out of your way to see Mauritius otherwise your only experience of Mauritius might be of the hotel (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing).

The beach was nice, the seafood was great and there were lots of water activities. Take advantage of the glass bottom boat tour (complimentary for guests) that leaves at 10am and 2pm or charter a speed boat excursion to another beach with festive vibes. At night it’s generally quiet but there was a bon fire near the edge of the property.

If you plan on making it a boozy vacation go for the All Inclusive it balances out in the end.

My boyfriend and I recently spent seven unforgettable days at your hotel, and we can say without hesitation that it was the most beautiful and memorable hotel experience we’ve ever had.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and exceptional service—especially thanks to the charming Matthieu, who greeted us so politely and made us feel at home right away.

Nestled at the foot of a breathtaking Le Morne, the hotel offered stunning scenery from sunrise to sunset, with views stretching from the sea to the jungle. We’d also love to extend a special thanks to Vyshee, who gave us a wonderful tour of the hotel and was incredibly accommodating throughout our stay. Her joyful and loving spirit truly made a lasting impression.

The design of the hotel blends perfectly with nature, with open spaces that make you feel like you’re in the heart of the outdoors—yet with the added comfort of the kindest and most attentive staff always ready to help.

We stayed on half-board and thoroughly enjoyed every single breakfast and dinner. The cuisine was rich in variety and quality—the hotel buffet stands out as one of the best we’ve ever experienced.

The hotels beach was simply beautiful. Just like a scene from a travel magazine, and even more magical in real life. We also appreciated the wide range of activities, from yoga and themed dinners to a private dolphin trip, which was a truly special experience.

The property is stunning. However, more training is needed for the staff. Ordered food from one of the pool bars and after an hour, my food never arrived. The remote in my room didnt work, i requested service, it never came. I asked for menus to the restaurants to determine where to go for dinner and no one could get this information for me. So, with some training, this has the potential to be a 5 star resort

We spent several nights at Lux following 4 nights at a neighbouring hotel as part of our honeymoon.
The service was what really let it down the most unfortunately, especially in direct comparison to the other hotel we stayed in, which was exceptional.
I was surprised that this is a 5* hotel as the standard of service is more in line with a 4*. At breakfast the staff seem quite hurried and stressed and the wait for a coffee/ hot beverage can take as long as 20-25 mins.
In general the staff are not as attentive as they should be and it can take up to 10-15 mins to get served when sat at the bars or on sun loungers.
They seem to have quite a few inexperienced staff who are not confident in waiting tables or serving.
The Wi-Fi at the hotel is very poor and intermittent, which can get quite frustrating.
We were not pre warned about the insect fogging which happens every evening and consists of a very loud machine which pumps plumes of very potent white smoke and chemicals around the buildings. If you are outside enjoying the facilities when this happens you are often caught up in the smoke, which is really unpleasant.
On two occasions our room wasn’t cleaned until 5pm, which was quite inconvenient when we needed to use it.
There were quite a few issues with smoke/ fire alarms going off in the bars and restaurants, on one occasion the alarm went off 4 times in 10 minutes when we were having drinks.
On the last day of our stay the water in our rooms stopped working.

Beyond Underwhelming. From disorganisation during check in to poor upkeep of hotel and below average quality of food Lux* Le Morne fails to deliver a luxury experience worthy of the overall setting and price point.
As with all Lux* properties there is a lack of ambience and a massive training gap resulting in consistently poor service and lack of interest on behalf of staff to accommodate guests.

We had a wonderuful stay at Luxe Le Morne for our honeymoon! The location is perfect for a quiet holiday getaway, very peaceful and relaxing. The manager and hotel staff made to sure to make our experience special by surprising us with little gifts in our room (champagne, canapés, cocktails etc), it was a nice touch. The room was lovely, overlooking the beach and we had a great view of the sunset every night! Resort had 3 restaurants to choose from which were all decent with the Kitchen restaurant offering a daily and expansive buffet breakfast, but we were quite disappointed to find out the Japanese restaurant was closed down only when we arrived at the property. The free water sports activities at the hotel were fantastic along with the Lux spa, where we were kindly gifted a free 45min honeymooners massage. We also really enjoyed the movie on the beach our last night where the hotel offered drinks and popcorn. Resort offered other daily specials which all required advance booking (which we were not made aware of until we checked in), so we unfortunately missed out on a lot of the extra fun/romantic things to do at the property. Our only criticism was that because our booking was made through Expedia, nobody from the resort contacted us in advance to inform us about advance bookings required for restaurants, experiences, airport transfers etc (this is what would have really elevated our experience). Overall, Highly recommend this beautiful resort.

Only negative would be there are still a lot of extras you need to pay such as certain restaurants, yoga or HIIT classes on the beach etc which made it quite confusing what was included. Amazing resort in an idyllic location. Perfect base for exploring the South West of the island. Room and resort was well maintained, very clean and minor issues were fixed quickly and without fuss. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble.

Whilst here, we attended the plant based cooking course, with chef Abhishek, which was great fun. It was a great introduction to Mauritian cuisine, and a good chance to meet other guests, as well as learning from a top class teacher.

The food in general at the resort was consistently of the highest standard; we enjoyed, in particular, eating at the restaurant East - the Thai food there was some of the best we have ever had. Would definitely recommend a visit to this restaurant for any guests staying here. We also visited the spa, for a couple’s massage, and spa facilities which were lovely.

What an absolutely stunning location! Absolutely beautiful! A proper honeymoon location.
Room was comfortable and very clean. Mini bar facilities in the room were the best I’ve seen.
Beach was pristine. Cocktails at the bar beside the beach were awesome.
Staff were mostly really attentive.
The only real negative for me: I resent, after paying an arm and a leg to come in the first place, having to pay extra to experience anything other than the main (buffet-style) restaurant. (Food was nice in the restaurant but we experienced nicer in nearby town La Gaulette).
But all in all an absolutely beautiful resort.

We stayed for 6 nights. Restaurant staff exceptional, reception staff helpful. The estate and beach are fantastic, the room was really lovely. My wife is coeliac and the team went out of their way after 1st day to ensure food didn't include Gluten, which was really helpful. The only downside was that with our room on the outer edge of the resort, the wifi didn't work at all. That said the management assured me this will be put right shortly and were not just really polite but gave me both a lte check out and a couples massage as compensation, which was a nice gesture. Estate and food really top quality.

Beautiful location with v friendly staff however training/communication seems to be an issue A lot of useful information was not shared during check in and we were given 3 prices for the special gambas dinner which turned out to be a set menu vs what we assumed was a bbq on the beach
In the bar we waited 45 mins before being told that the Niçoise salad we ordered from the menu is no longer on the menu!
They apologised and offered our meal for free which was wonderful but it was unclear how this could have happened in the first place
Room is beautiful with super comfy bed but let down a little by all the exposed pipe work under the basin in the bathroom which one is forced to stare at when taking a bath

3 star hotel with a 5 star price

5 star is only price per night and scenery (beach, mountain view) everything else are poor 3 stars.
This hotel is good for instagramers, influencers or the ones staying for 2 nights and want to take some good pictures. Staying for a week or so will make you crazy. Try and see...

Staff - i could write a book. They make you feel like they doing you a favour serving you. Forgetting your orders, food delivery 3 hours after order, bringing drinks after you finish your dinner ..i could go on. Of course there are individuals who are doing an excellent job, but most of them look like they dont want to live on this planet. I have seen many inefficient people in my life, but some waiters are on top of my list from now on. There must be some not so smart people leading staff recruitment at lux.

Rooms - designer rooms or whatever they promote it. They look nice, but once you try to sleep there is an AC that sounds like in a cheap 2 star hotel in the middle of Paris. Fixing it? Forget about it. Smell from the A/C? Come and smell it. Junior suite room - avoid it.

Events - lux masterminds developed great app for influences where you can see all hotel events etc. . But.. organisation of those events is another story. Staff organising those events either is not interested at all, not showing up to an event or being late is a classic story.

Food - it is decent, but after 3 days you get sick of it. The only restaurant with great staff, chefs and food is The Beach.

This is a high-end resort positioned right under the mountain at Le Morne. This review takes account of the very high standards the resort sets itself, and the luxury price tag it comes with.
Overall, the resort is beautiful, well maintained and looked after. However, with the odd honourable exception Mervin in the Beach restaurant!) the service is charming but vague. One day our bedroom wasn’t serviced until 5.30 pm, the Thai restaurant East is pretty mediocre and although the staff try hard, the service is pretty hit and miss.
I don’t have a lot of experience of this type of resort, as we usually stay in a villa, but I must admit I was expecting it to be a bit more switched on.
‘The Beach’ restaurant food is by far the best on the resort - you have to book in advance but I’d really recommend you do.

Not value for money

The location is amazing, however the building are not in great conditions and the food quality is way below what you pay.
The first day we have to change 4 bedroom to find one good enough to sleep, smell of mold and toilet was the reason. The day after we had to move again room since was not the same category we’ve book.
The staff is really nice and they try always to fix the issue, however base on the expectations we had of the place is not value for money.

Very quiet around swimming pools. No music which is strange. Even if quiet this would be better.
Also very expensive buffet for what it is. Not worth it. And not worth the all inclusive option.

Limited options for evening entertainment. Drinks extremely overpriced.

Spa was lovely. Room was clean but starting to be a little run down eg the tiles on the floor were chipping/tub had stains.
Mini bar not serviced well or just forgotten.
Staff communication poor. It was my bday on 1/9 they never advised when the would drop off the cake I requested when i checked in 28/8, I called at 7pm asking, after some fumbling they advised that they would drop it off at 830pm as this is when they normally do,It arrived at 905. Recommendation: if a guest is asking for something and you already have it (because you didn’t forget) don’t make them wait. Not nice to irritate the guest on their bday. I thought they forgot and it just left a bad taste. Every hotel I have ever stayed at have promptly placed this in the room so that it greets the guest and well as a kind Birthday message on a card. It’s just a nice gesture.
On checkout I asked for my luggage to be taken out of storage and given back in hand, and they went and handed it to the driver. I then sat on the stairs in the driveway opening my suitcases shuffling things around. Not a good look.
Between 530-7pm I was advised that no kitchen is open when I ordered a meal at the bar. They then pointed out that they would go over and above and make my meal. Firstly, don’t make the guest feel like they are an imposition and are causing you issue. Secondly you have 24hr room service surely there must be a way. Perhaps just be a little more obliging and say, happy to take your order

Beautiful location, decor and setting. Excellent service and extremely friendly and helpful staff. The buffet dinners could be improved - I would have preferred more variety - but the breakfasts were very good. And as always the staff was so helpful, warm and welcoming. We had an amazing week there.

What made this an incredible experience was the people who worked at the Lux. The interaction with us and wanting to ensure we had the best holiday could not be faulted. I would highly recommend anyone who wants the most beautiful setting with the best facilities and people to stay at the Lux. Spectacular Location - Average Food

Hotel was in lovely location with good beach and spectacular views of the Le Morne mountain. It's fine if you want an all-inclusive \"bubble\" experience, but food starts to get boring if you are faced with a buffet every evening. We took a bed & breakfast option and tried to venture out of the hotel for evening meals. The restaurants at the next door St Regis hotel provided better food options, so we ate there several times.

Great hotel.!

Beautiful hotel, great amenities and friendly staff. Room service on the other hand.. a lot to be desired! Head chef should control food that goes out, specially for a 5 star hotel. Menu can be improve, we ordered 2 panacotta and one was hard as concrete and other was soupy.. pasta and Thai noodles can easily find better at a buffet.!

The best hotel in Le Morne because of the beach , it is not crowded and very relaxing atmosphere.
The staff it is ok ,some of the employees are serving you like in a 5* hotel but some of them are not at that level.
The beach , gardens and swimming pools are the best you can find in Le Morne.
The food at the main restaurant it is not the best but at the Beach restaurant you can eat very good meals.

A fabulous swimming with dolphins trip, fishing and having the fish bbq’d by Skipper Dan was a super day

The best 5* property I have ever been on and experienced for a week. Blown away by Le Morne in the background, the clarity of the water at the beach, the fact that we were there in the winter so the temperature of the water was refreshing and the days are pleasant..i.e. not hot and humid. We would travel this time of year again and stay at the Lux. The location was perfect as if offers more seclusion and is SW of the island which for us bypassed most passing rain during the whole time we stayed. 7 days of some rain and mostly partly cloudy and full sunny skies, O-my perfect vacation. We flew 30hrs to get to Mauritius and would do it again to spend 1 week here which is just enough time to soak in the island, the people, culture and everything else, and leave you wanting to return to do the things you weren't able to as we a not a fan of a resort on a sand bar isolation type vacationers.

The staff were all warm, friendly, and helpful and took my experience to the next level not experienced at other 5* resort in the Caribbean or Mexico. They cannot compare. We are true touched by how warm everyone is throughout the island during our visits and really connect with the people on the island.

The spa was excellent and we used it fairly often while here. The pools were beautiful and nice to swim and lounge in. Sport fishing was pleasant and the blue waters clean and deep with visibility of 200-300ft!!!! I ended catching the largest fish I ever caught. A dream come true.

Perfect and active beach vacation

Never realizing how perfectly active a beach vacation can be, we learned this at the Lux Le Morne. The resort is kept in a beatutiful relaxed and beachy decor (with lots of warm, glowing nights at light, candle galore!) while offering a stylish backdrop at the same time. Diving, snorkeling, horseback, hiking, surfing, sailing are available pretty much from the hotel/beach. The hotel was at 95% occupancy rate when we were there, yet there was never any ‘rub’ over beach chairs, table in premier location, the little extra touch or evening dinner. Food was amazing. Spa offerings lovely. We probably were most impressed with the staff and their genuine desire to excel, to do anything and more in their power to care for their guests. We have never stayed 11 days at a place before without leaving even the premises and do some serious sight seeing. Well, it happened, thanks to the fabulous environment created by the wonderful people of the Lux. Bravo!

Outstanding service!

The service is outstanding from the minute you arrive to the last goodbye. Can’t say enough about how much effort went into making sure we had a very pleasant stay. The service at the two a la carte restaurants is phenomenal, and the buffet is superb. The spa is absolutely fantastic! We did have a few issues, but they were attended to promptly and the manger followed up to make sure we were satisfied. Wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend this place.

Make sure you stay at the LUX Le Morne!

There were no words to discribe how wonderful this hotel is. From head to toe, everything was perfect.

I especially liked all the staff who work in the hotel - they are truly the best assets of this beautiful resorts.

Make sure you stay there when you are visiting Mauritius.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed. Truly magnificent.

Arguably the best beach in Mauritius and the food even better. From friendly check-in with Joy's team, the great service continues with Hurvind and Vikram in the Food and Beverage section, supported by Alain. Yogesh at the bar and Farhad on the beach complements them, The beach boys Varoon and Makenzie will make sure your time on the beach is comfortable and lubricated.

Paradise setting!

The hotel is in a wonderful setting below the giant crag of Le Morne. It has a picture-perfect beach, with sun loungers under swaying palm trees. The sea bathing (protected by the reef) is good, as are the snorkelling opportunities. It is a large hotel complex, but doesn't feel that big, with good friendly and personal service. We are not fans of 'buffet-style' dining, but the food was generally acceptable/good. Looking at it from a practical viewpoint it would be difficult to offer 'fine dining' in a hotel of this size. The ability to have a lazy week, just swimming and sunbathing was the key ingredient for us. On this the hotel delivered 100%. The rooms (we had a junior suite) are lovely and the housekeeping excellent. The 'star' employee was Iqbal - the hotel driver - who collected us from the port when we arrived by sea and took us to the airport at the end of our stay. He had the presence of mind to ring ahead to the airport from the hotel car and so there was a porter awaiting us when we drove up to Departures. We didn't have to touch our bags once! These 'little things' make a big difference! We hope to return to Mauritius one day and would certainly go back to LUX Le Morne.

The service is well under what we have experienced in other places in Mauritius. The staff often forgets your orders, doesn't pay attention to your needs (particularly true at the buffet). The activities like water skiing are rarely available because of tides (while the are available in other hotels only a few km away...). The room (junior suite ocean views) was nice bur very dark.
There are many nicer places or better value on the island and of course around the world.
Mauritius is beautiful and the people super welcoming and nice. Highly recommended destination but not in this hotel.

Nice hotel in a quiet corner of Mauritius

Although my stay was very short, I enjoyed the friendliness of the staff, the very good breakfast (and, believe me, I usually don't like hotel breakfasts), the walking distance to Le Morne mountain and the quietness of the neighborhood. Would definitely come back, if I have the chance!

Private luxury with pristine beach

Superb daily activities planned by hotel - allow 2-3 days to partake in these.
Location & beach is truly paradise! Great beach menus & free coconut drinks.
Meals very expensive if not included in on-board, but if not big eaters, this option allows for flexibility.
Request the balinese therapist at spa for the better massage technique/professional.
Snorkeling & glass-bottom boat is free, but not to the best locations and boat skippers not customer orientated & very helpful with info & assistance. Recommend to book privately for dolphin watching (over-rated!) & great lagoon snorkeling with Philo - spacious boat, experienced skippers & very helpful service on-board.
The East Thai restaurant cuisine was overly expensive & not worth the price as the food is not so flavourful, my lobster was very overcooked. But they obliged with wine.
Rooms near the Oasis pool are very private but you hear the loud sound of the pool generator, even in the early morning.

Destination LUX Le Morne

Set under the backdrop of the Le Morne mountain, this resort is the epitome of paradise. The staff, the beach, westward facing for the most incredible Indian Ocean sunsets, the facilities, all are top notch, everything designed for your relaxation and pleasure. 5 star service at every turn. 5 star cuisine, and one of the most picturesque locations in the southwest of Mauritius. thank you to all who made our 10,000 mile trip from New York one to remember.
