Anybody who is used to the north European standard of 5* hotels should absolutely AVOID this \"beach hotel\" with general mediocrity and a four lane highway in front, mentioned nowhere. Abstain ! Avoid it if possible.

I have stayed at the real marina many times and it never disappoints the staff are friendly and welcoming the breakfast is always good and the indoor pool is ideal during colder months it is situated in my opinion in one of the best town in the algarve the restaurants and bars are full of locals and food is amazing

We’d cycled up from Ayamonte and arrived at the Hotel wet through, the staff quickly checked us in and helped with the bikes and our bags - it was very much appreciated. Breakfast the next morning was plentiful and they took the time to explain about the buffet and the extras we could order.

This is an older hotel, but I really enjoyed my stay. The staff provided great hospitality and were knowledgeable about the area with great suggestions. The building needs new carpet, or better yet, new non-carpeted floors. It would also be nice to have slippers. Bed was comfy and view was beautiful. Breakfast buffet and environment were nice too. Pool area was clean and enjoyable, as was the poolside lunch/snack area. And the location is one of the best in Olhao, overlooking Rio Formosa! This hotel is due for a renovation, but the vibe is so good that it makes up for it. I would stay here again.

The Real Marina is a great hotel, whose staff go above and beyond at their jobs. The rooms are big, clean, and have AC. Bed is comfortable, and the bathrooms are spotless. The free internet has enough bandwidth to stream content if needs be. The hotel is not too far from numerous restaurants in Olhao, and it is perfectly positioned for getting a water taxi to the beaches, and the seafood festival.
The only negatives I have with my stay there are to do with the bar. The prices of drinks were inconsistent (I paid €15 for a beer and Coke the first day, then €9 at another occasion), and the food options at lunch were not great.

Ideally situated for access to all amenities along the waterfront at Olhao. Staff were very helpful and informative when needed. We stayed on a B&B basis and the breakfast was v good, with lots of choice. Restaurant was available with a choice of meals on a buffet basis.
All in all, an excellent hotel for hosting a stay exploring the area.

Lovely hotel with friendly service and is our 6 th visit but it’s starting to look a bit tired including rooms and corridors . The pool bar is a bit basic and pool area is cramped but could be better designed . Overall still a nice hotel and will return but an upgrade is required in the next 2-3 years

Very nice location and friendly staff. Rooms are were well appointed. The hotel is within walking distance to ref shops, restaurants, and the marina. The restaurant at the hotel was very good.

We booked two rooms and the second room was not ready at check in time. Staff was very apologetic and offered a few free drinks for the inconvenience. The AC in the hotel had gone out shortly before we checked in so the rooms were hot. It took several hours after it was fixed for the rooms to cool down. Despite the minor issues, we would love to return when we can spend a few more days and enjoy the area.

You can’t fault the staff at every level, the rooms are a good size and the sea views are great, although some of the carpets are getting a bit thread bare with over use, and a few repairs and replacements wouldn’t go amiss considering its status as a 5 star hotel, can’t really call it shabby chic, you do have to watch out at weekends for the dance club across the road that likes to keep you entertained until the early hours, and doesn’t really make any difference even if you close the window. Great on location for the old town and easy access to the ferries though. An entertaining stay.

Honestly worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Rooms not to bad but could do with a good clean, bedding had marks on it. Service was awful, food was shocking. Everything at this hotel was hard work! Thankfully we went to try before a main holiday, luckily I can cancel and will. Struggled to stay here for 2 days not matter about 9. No thanks.
Oh and they have a massive fly problem, Everywhere in the hotel, restaurants, bars, it’s really bad.

Nice hotel, but would say it’s more a 4 star hotel. Certain aspects let it down.
Rooms are in between an upgrade. Breakfast was tasty but would perhaps become samey if you stayed longer than three nights. Rooms were sound proof which was great. Pool towels are very small and sunbeds were uncomfortable, having to find the towels at the spa was unnecessary.
Nice location near to centre and restaurants. Good restaurants in the vicinity. Would I return, possibly, although don’t like to visit the same place twice, so probably not, but hotel has potential, just not there yet for a five star hotel.

Good hotel with good staff , particularily the bar manager.
Room was kept very clean , with a minor gripe that cups and glasses were not always changed .Room coffee similarily needs topping up daily.

Managed to do early check around 10am with no extra charge,
Lovely reception staff, very helpful
Good breakfast buffet variety to choose from, again the restaurant staff were brilliant.
The hotel is clean all round smells nice,
Room was replenished daily. Very spacious and loads of space to sit and relax
Location by the marina, so many restaurants to choose from. Boat cruises. Used the spa facilities.

Please clean the elevator shafts as they are disgusting. Do not swim in the pool. I saw 10 seagulls swimming in the pool in the early morning. Very good staff at front desk and at bar.

Mini November break

We decided to stay for 5 nights for some winter sunshine. The spa was very good and excellent value for money. The hotel is very nice but would only consider it to be 4 star as some areas of the hotel do need to be updated. Buffet breakfast was great every morning. Olhão is worth a visit for a couple of days, however at this time of year a lot of places are closed

Comfortable stay for a week on a golf trip. Staff were helpful and on the mornings we had to leave before breakfast they provided a breakfast bag. Cleanliness throughout the hotel was very good and the local town was full of good and well priced restaurants

Visiting the Algarve region of Portugal with a central location like Olhao makes this resort hotel an ideal location for those with transportation to get out in the regions natural waterways and estuaries. We enjoyed the beautiful views out on the bay, the marina, and close walk to restaurants and a grocery store. We had a wonderful suite with two rooms for the three of us. The balcony that swept around our hotel room was great to lay out or sit and sip tea and have cookies. Our room had a small adequate refrigerator and a coffee maker. It would of been nice to have a small microwave to reheat a pizza or small food item. The pool area looked great but we did not use due to our busy adventures. My family and I enjoyed the amazing selection of breakfast buffet items with wonderful service from the restaurant team. This was included in our room price. Overall clean, comfortable beds, modern two bathroom suite, and great service. Our front desk team was helpful for our early check in and working out a problem with a phone that didn't work in our room. It was repaired with a new cord within an hour.

Overall we loved the hotel and Olhão. The lobby was beautiful, staff and check in efficient and easy, room spacious and clean, loved the breakfast especially the granola and great location with a nice walk to the local restaurants. A few small things that would give it more of a 5star feel rather than 4star; water wasn’t replaced in the rooms, no dressing gowns provided, the towel situation by the pool isn’t great-you have to go to the spa with a card to get one thread-bare towel and warned to bring it back or you will be charged €15…with the 5star rating and price paid we felt this was unnecessary. All said we had a wonderful four days and would definitely come back.

Wonderful hotel! The rooms were large and comfortable. All amenities were included in the room (shampoo, lotions, soap). The breakfast in the morning was plentiful and had variety. The staff was friendly and helpful! Pool was clean and a chair could always be found. Perfect location with access to restaurants on the main strip and plenty by wandering through the back streets. Book this hotel, you will not be disappointed.

Its overpriced for what you get!!

The hotel is supposed to be 5 star,but barely makes it in 4!!
The air conditioner on the room was not so effective, incredibly the elevators don't have a \"up\"botton ,so you always have to go down. Tje breakfast is not well stocked and tje pancakes hard as stones. The food at the pool is very poor and expensive.
In general its overpriced for what you get!!

Excellent week during our stay at this hotel. First of all all the staff were highly professional and very friendly. Even though the hotel was quite busy, there was always a table at breakfast and a sunbed available next to the pool. Very near to local restaurants and the little town is walkable. Beautiful views from the balcony overlooking the sea. The Wi-Fi was a bit sketchy, but fine if you don’t have business meetings.
