If you planning to get a room first floor with “ocean view “ make sure it’s not room 174 that does not have a ocean room in fact it’s in front of a stage where live music is playing until around 10pm ! Maybe others have a better view but this one definitely don’t .

This is my go to hotel when I plan my yearly trip to Melbourne. This was my 3rd stay and its always. Great! The beach view from my room was awesome! One thing I will add, it would be nice if they had microwaves. But other than that, always a great stay

so what we didn't know when we booked was this is Love Bug Season. Thousands of them in the air. on the exterior walls. at the poo, bar, etc. in the room- our first room, which was located off the pool. had to go through a gauntlet of bugs just to get in- and once in, they were on the floors, bed, walls, bathroom, etc.

Called the front desk- i didnt even have to ask- they said bugs? i said yes. they moved us immediately to an interior room.

otherwise staff was super helpful. they have shuttle that runs easily and got us to and from where we needed to go.

i would stay again. just making sure to book an interior room. or ask about the love bugs.

Great Stay at the Crowne Plaza!
I had a fantastic experience here. The beach was beautiful and very well-maintained, providing the perfect spot to unwind. I also loved the bar area—the drinks were excellent, and the music created a great atmosphere every night.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a fun and relaxing getaway!

The view was the best. Breakfast and staff was excellent. The hotel needs some updating, the floor in the room was buckled from humidity, but overall it was clean and comfortable. And the ocean view was beautiful. Didn't like the fact that I couldn't park myself close to the hotel. Again the staff was excellent especially Jason at the front dest and the breakfast staff. Very good people working there.

Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Had minor issue with lock on balcony door but this issue was resolved very quickly y the maintenance man Eddie, who was very helpful and kind. Valet parking was included in the resort fee., which was very convenient. On the Friday night there was a band playing called Mix Tapes Kids which were excellent a great show right in the outside restaurant. Breakfast was good, freshly made omelettes were very good. Only negative was the lifts which were really slow, luckily we were on 4th floor so could use the stairs most of the time.

Property is dirty, there is no security to walk in the hotel and giving anyone access to the pool, beach and elevators… there was live music and the police was called to remove a random person that was not part pf the hotel.
The hotel and the room was not clean. We travel a lot for work and pleasure, we picked Crown Plaza this time to enjoy beach and pool, but it was very crowded, dirty and uncomfortable. We did not enjoy our staying.

Good location, extremely mixed crowd of people lots of drinkers and smokers…Pool is clean make sure to get out there early. Longboard restaurant food was good just make sure your not by the beach access area lots of smokers hanging out there not everyone wants the second hand smoke especially with the kids. Make sure to check your vehicle before letting valet move definitely have a jiggly mirror now. Really wish you did not have to walk through the restaurant area to go to beach especially while they have the live music. Some of those people should find new hobby’s instead of ruining classic songs…..Would give it another try after the first experience and do things different. Room was clean and comfortable we had a 1 bedroom suite.

This hotel is way too crowded. I think they're overbooking. You have to wait in line when you arrive, and there's no parking. So you have to leave your car parked haphazardly to get your things unloaded. They only give you 10 minutes, and after that, they give you a parking space far away. My husband is disabled, and we had to cross a bridge to get there. To make matters worse, they gave us a room on the 7th floor. Yesterday, this hotel was packed—the pool, the beach, and the bar were overflowing. We came for our anniversary, and we couldn't even have dinner last night. We ended up going down to the restaurant at 8:30, hoping the crowds would thin out a bit, and when we got there, they told us it was full and the kitchen was closed. We went to bed without eating because the car was far away, and it was raining. It's been one of my worst experiences at such an expensive hotel.

The room was a disappointment. Be AWARE!!! There is an additional $30 per day “Resort Fee” that is charged to you! They have valet parking only! There is a band playing at the outdoor bar during the day and into the evening. If you are looking for a quiet stay, look elsewhere!

Everything was just perfect. Wish it had an extra beach access. Restaurant food was 8 out of 10. The vip parking was great. There’s a young man that works the 3-11 shift (valet attendant) he was phenomenal, polite and cheerful and always asked how our day is going. He was the short one with lengthy hair. He deserves everything that company has to offer!!!!!

Overall great weekend getaway. My only gripes were the leaky shower faucet that we could hear in the middle of the night once all was quiet, loud ac and sleeping by the sea although relaxing views can be quite loud making for tons of distractions in the middle of the night. Again sounds like neat picking but getting some sleep after long fun day is part of the getaway.

Our window shades were all broken and we couldn't close them all all. Despite all of these issues the staff was nice but the room wasn't what we expected

Filthy room, dirty bathroom, splatter on walls hair in bath tub, bath tub dirty, floor sticky. Had to put towels down on floor , cracked vanity sink
Changed our room type from what we selected and paid for and were sold out so it couldn’t be changed
Staff were very friendly and listened well and understood concern. However the room was still filthy on day two.
View from room was amazing
Hotel right on beach front so that made the stay bearable.
Breakfast was good. Typical breakfast buffet and serving staff were excellent
Didn’t get value for money for quality of product
Hotel rooms very unkempt and needs an overall upgrade or refurbish.
Not 4 or 5 star quality. Would rank it 3 star for quality at best.
Overall tried not to make it ruin the special occasion we were there to celebrate.

Parking is cumbersome as the parking lot is located across the street. If you forget something in the car, you may rethink if you need it. But the valet staff are wonderful.
Lobby and outdoor restaurant were very nice. Pool, beach area very nice as well.
Room was ok.... shower water pressure was very poor and my room had a dehumidifier running 24/7 that was very loud and woke me up several times overnight. Bed was comfortable though. If the room cost was $150 or less per night I would say it was on par for the price but at $250+ per night, I would not stay again.

There was also a tent set up so that took up chunk of property. Close to restaurants bars etc. A little deceiving about the chairs at the beach. The pictures showed them but you have to rent them

The hotel was very dog friendly/accomodating.We loved being able to bring thr dogs on the beach.Our room was very nice and clean but the floors were very deeply scratched and the couch had a stain which i covered with a sheet. I showed photos at the desk to ensure our well trained dogs were not blamed.There was only one of two elevators working and it was also down a few times during our stay. we were constantly waiting to get on since it was small and slow with lots of workers and guests cramming into it.
We received a free breakfast for the issue and that was awful on the 16th. The buffet items were barely warm, the bacon was burnt, the sausage patties were curled they were so overcooked and dried up, and the danish was stale. I was surprised the waitress actually made us use our vouchers for a breakfast we could not eat. The following 2 mornings i went down and the buffet was just fine! The same waitress agreed Monday the 16th was just a bad morning but still didnt offer any compensation.
The free shuttle was wonderful! It takes you and picks you up within a 5 mile radius which is perfect for a ride to diwntown Melbourne for local shopping and eating.

The restaurant and outdoor area were great, except when it got to windy for us. The food offerings were very good, well prepared and priced right- not expensive. Live music on the weekends. The crowne plaza was a nice place to stay 10 years ago. However this recent visit was very disappointing. When we arrived you are told that your stay comes with complimentary valet parking as well as a $10 credit per day for food or drinks. What they neglected to mention is they charge a $30 resort fee which is for $20 a day for valet and $10 credit for food/drinks. The valet is a whole other issue. With a full hotel of guest there are only 2 valet workers at a time. So you can be waiting up to 20 plus minutes for your car.
The room we first checked into felt like a dorm room in college. The window was only 2 feet tall and it was at the top of the wall. So you had to stand on your tippy toes to look out the window. The view was the roof top next door. This was on the 3rd floor. It was a very dark and stuffy room. I did end up getting my room changed to a better one, however I know I’m not the only one who was stuck on the 3rd floor with a room like that. I watched anther couple complaining about the same thing. The room I was moved into had so many problems. First the door didn’t lock, so they needed to get that fixed. My toilet worked 2 out of 3 times. A part of the cabinet was completely broken. And it was just old and run down. The ac dripped water on th balcony and there was no drainage, so you had to wear sneakers if you wanted to go on the balcony. Because you were standing in a pool of water. It was so disappointing staying here.

Staff was excellent, especially our valet guys! There weren’t any amenities really. No microwave in the room. The fridge didn’t work. We reported both of those things but it wasn’t addressed during our stay. The bed was comfortable and appreciated the king, fluffy pillows. Continental breakfast wasn’t offered and we were given a $10 credit that we didn’t use.

Pros - Beautiful View and Staff was courteous and hard working. Room was nice.
Cons - Hotel has resort fees per day so maybe you feel as if you got a good daily rate but then you have to add daily resort fee- im sure it was mentioned but I didnt notice that it would be 30 bucks a day more just to be there.. On site parking is Valet only about 8 bucks a day. So every time you need to get your car you have to request it and of course customary to tip. If we didnt like that we would have to park across the street and pay the same 8 dollars to park it ourselves. Their kitchen cannot handle the amount of guest they booked for the days we were there, long wait time for breakfast lunch and dinner and the food was not worth the wait at any time and one of the days not even good at all. They were out of one meal selection for dinner one night and out of fries for a burger gave us chips smh. Drinks were ok and overpriced to just be ok. The workers they are hustling its not them only management can own the cons. We have stayed in this area before I do not see us staying at this particular hotel again.

The total on the computer when I bought the room said 67$ fee when I check in and then they say it's 100$ for fees that were supposed to be paid for already and yet charging me on top of that. They also charge me 7.20$ then another 13$ for God knows what without any notice or anything. Id like to speak to a manager about these things. Kuz this is horrible

The room was very clean. Being right on the beach is awesome! That being said, this is a very busy hotel. In the 9 days that we were there, there was a large wedding and one business conference after another, making the lobby frequently full of people. Even with all that, the valet service was super fast and efficient. The restaurant ran out of almost all food one of the nights we were there. Over all a very good hotel!
