This place is a gem, classic, old world but so comfortable and refined, amazing staff and service, kindness everywhere, fresh linens and evening turn down, chocolate and pastries, water refreshed daily, no xtra fees for coffee delivered in room. Fabulous bar and lounge, knowledgeable and attentive bar server.

There’s nothing transactional about this place. It is all about making guests comfortable. America seems to have forgotten this. Or it all comes at a $$ cost. Not here. Everything is included. What a wonderful place.Can’t wait to come back!

El papel tapiz manchado, la cama “king” es la suma de dos camas separadas lo cual no refleja un hotel de la categoría que se ofrece. dicho esto el desayuno, los salones del segundo piso y el servicio son de primera. La ubicación excelente. El bar abajo tampoco está bien, los muebles son viejos y al ambiente no invita a sentarse y tomar algo

This was our third (lengthy stay, 16 nights) at Avenida Palace. Everything and everyone from check in to check out was outstanding. Our 6th floor room overlooking the street was amazing….spacious, comfortable, considerable storage space, good size vanity and bathroom. Housekeeping and turn down service was always prompt, courteous, and immaculate. The breakfast buffet was overflowing with fresh fruit, breads, eggs, meats, pastries, juices, coffee, and pots of tea. Breakfast staff were warm and welcoming, helpful, and obliging. All the staff (reception, concierge, bell hops, breakfast staff, housekeeping, bartenders) are professional, and obvious that they all enjoy working at the Avenida Palace. Staying at this hotel, surrounded by majestic rooms and surroundings,and service provided by professionals is a treasured experience!

The whole historic establishment was clean, well restored, and well maintained. Unlike some ultra-modern hotels, there was ample storage space in both the room and bathroom. The room floor was carpeted. Staffing was ample, friendly and courteous, knowledgeable, and largely proficient in English.

I was expecting charm, but this hotel was exceptional in so many ways. The service and attention to details far exceeded my expectations. What an elegant way to truly experience the past, as if we were royal guests. Beds turned down at night, with chocolate on our night stand along with boxed pastry on a tray with nicely folded napkins. Then the grand finale was the breakfast buffet, the quality and presentation was suburb. Thank you for the fond memories that will last a lifetime.

Enjoyed our 3 day stay at this elegant hotel. We had a junior suite which I felt was on the small side. Even the bathroom had only a single sink and no tub (which my wife would have liked). Cupboard and drawers were somewhat limited.
The bed was comfortable and bed linens were very nice. Breakfast buffet was nice and pretty much typical of hotel fare.
All in all we were very pleased with our choice of hotel. Location was very convenient for shopping and walk about touring. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was fine but quite dated. Some of the staff was helpful but others less so - we were told by the concierge the evening before departure there would be no problem getting a large taxi, but when we actually tried to get one we were then told there were none available. There is no on-site restaurant other than for breakfast. The location is good.

Also the bar is a great quiet option for evening drinks. A bit of a hidden treasure.

There is not a thing I did not like about the Avenida Palace. The staff here are super friendly and helpful especially the concierge. Outstanding complimentary breakfast! The hotel is in an ideal location for quick walks to local eateries, sites and shops.

The hotel has old world charm but not stuffy. It's located in a busy part of the city right next to a train station, but inside is very quiet and serene; no noise penetrated into our room. Lots of flowers, both fresh and artificial, adorn the lobby and hallways. The breakfast was amazing--great selection of hot foods, cold meats, breads, fruits, fruit juices, etc, and breakfast staff was gracious and attentive. The only negative comment I have is that the pictures in the hallway on our floor were faded and they need to be replaced. Other than that, I will stay here again if ever I am in Lisbon.

Well located. Staff very polite. Had an issue with the bathroom door that was a little annoying. The door handle would not work without locking the occupant in the bathroom so the door handle was removed and the resulting holes were taped over. The door would then not subsequently close probably ... not a big issue but perhaps not what you wourld expect in a five star hotel.

Charming and Luxurious Stay in Lisbon

We stayed two nights at Avenida Palace and loved the experience. The hotel feels like a real palace, with elegant decor and antique-style furniture. It’s perfectly located near major attractions and next to the train station (you might hear trains occasionally, but it didn’t bother us).

Breakfast was the most varied and delicious we’ve had in Europe. The staff were kind and welcoming, and we were pleasantly surprised to find small treats waiting in our room each day.

Only downside: the carpets had a slight odor – but overall, a fantastic stay. Would happily return!
