Lovely place to stay, amazing view from every patio of the stunning shoreline. Short walking distance to 2 of the best Huatulco beaches. Amy the owner is so helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious…. Fresh fruit, yogurt and granola, coffee/tea. About 10 min drive into town so nice idea to have a car, otherwise taxis are available.

Agua Azul is a charming villa located hillside above the ocean. The rooms are clean and functional and the patios overlooking the water are spectacular. But the best part of the place is the owner, Amy, who thrives on making your vacation easy and enjoyable by providing tips and often picking up the phone, calling her contacts, and getting inside info without even being asked.

We loved our stay at Agua Azul and can’t wait to return next year. Amy is a fabulous host who has thought of every detail to make your stay perfect. The location is a 10 minute taxi ride to town so this is the place if you are looking to unwind and relax. There are two beaches a short walk away - we saw turtles one evening. We can’t say enough great things about this hotel, everything was wonderful. Fresh fruit with the breakfasts every morning, so many birds in the area and a wonderful and relaxed atmosphere. Lots of friendly Canadians staying here at the same time as us :)

This is a beautiful and relaxing accommodation that I HIGHLY recommend. The location and setting of the hotel are stunning, and the host Amy is an incredibly kind human that is keen to help people and make them feel at home. When she found out I was a coffee addict, she offered me a kettle to take to my room to make coffee whenever I wanted. All the rooms have a mini-fridge and private balcony. The views are amazing, and the room where breakfast is served is so nice. There is a very relaxed and quaint atmosphere. Guests often have nice chats with each other and the host, and Amy serves up a heathy and fresh breakfast.
It is a bit from town, but that just adds to the peace and solitude, and it’s really only a 10 minute cheap taxi ride into town. It also feels really safe being in a protected community area. There are multiple friendly taxis that know the place well, and can quickly take you into town, or on a tour. There is also a knock-out beach just down the hill. I stayed here with my fiancé at the end of a 2 month trip around Mexico, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place!

Owner Amy is great, helpful. Excellent breakfasts. Minor problems (TP holder broken, no soap or shampoo in bathroom) more than made up by the place and fantastic view from any room. I think she has been taken in by Nicolas the taxi driver. (Not being downtown, you need a taxi to go anywhere). Yes, he speaks some English and is helpful, but he charges more than others. Eg. Ride to airport is 300 pesos. We shared a ride with another guest and he charged each of us 250 pesos.

The property is lovely and the beaches surrounding it are gorgeous. What I enjoyed most about my stay is how unique Agua Azul feels given it's a bed and breakfast and not a resort/hotel. Because there aren't that many guests staying there, you have the opportunity to talk to people from all over the world. Amy, the owner, is also really enjoyable to have a conversation with. I highly recommend this place.

Property had everything you needed! Honour system for drinks in fridge. You could use a fridge if you had food items and small sink area in main floor. Room was clean and had everything you needed. The pool was lovely. The beach was a short walk through a cool cactus property full of life. The beach was incredible! We had it all to ourselves. When you enter the beach the area to your right is the best place for swimming. Turtles were laying their eggs on the beach. Really enjoyed the beach and view. Need a taxi to go into the town of La Crucecita or anywhere for dinner. Special place. The BB does have a binder to suggest activities and restaurants that can deliver to the villa. Rick and Brooke made a lovely breakfast and would sit with us every morning. They are there to help with any question or request. We would recommend this property for a few days.

Beautiful property with a nice view. Lovely setting for breakfast and very welcoming hosts. The only disadvantage is that you have to take a cab to go anywhere, but they are inexpensive and arrive moments after you call them. Very nice stay.

Great people, Quiet, Nice area

This place is perfect for people who want less tourists and noise but there is wonderful people connection in the morning through the breakfast table.
As a solo traveler, it was so enjoyable to meet people at the breakfast table - fresh fruits, bread, coffee, hand squeeze orange juice, yogurt , granola... and after breakfast , it's hard to see anyone around.
And this area is very safe ( gated residential area), close to the small beach and easy to go to different area by Cheap Taxi.
The best thing about this place is the owners, wonderful Canadian couple !!!
They provided so many helpful, practical information for touring around and were warm like friends.

More than wonderful stay!

How wonderful relaxing vacation at Agua Azul la Villa we had!
Work up with beautiful sunrise and birds symphony in a charming room.
Short walk to PRIVATE beach(no one there!!!!!, the beach is all yours!), had lovely breakfast with our hosts at villa, then dip in a swimming pool to cool off.
The time flows slowly and full of sun.
Highly recommend for romantic stay.

Quiet B and B in a gated community

This is a Perfect quiet retreat away from the crowds and noise. The view from our room was beautiful. The secluded beach near by was breathtaking. We were just A cab ride away from good recommended dinners. Brooke and Rick took care of all our needs. Brooke's granola and fresh baked goods for breakfast were delicious.

Very clean and quiet hotel with gorgeous sunrise views. The rooms themselves are quite clean and have everything you need. The owners make a delicious breakfast every morning. It's the same everyday only changing slightly. Fruit, home-made granola and delicious baked goods. Great coffee. The pool is small but secluded. It is a close walk to a gorgeous beach but the walk is not for the faint of heart. Do not go down the path with poor footwear. The water at the beach can also be quite treacherous. But the beach is very private

Small boutique bed & breakfast with view of bay

We had a wonderful time at Agua Azul for 10 days. It is very quiet and peaceful, with a beautiful view of the sunrise each morning. Rick and Brooke are excellent hosts and very knowledgeable of the area. Breakfast was always a wonderful affair with fresh fruit, home cooked breads and muffins, Brooke's own granola and yogurt. Very good Oaxacan coffee as well.

Tango, their Golden Retriever, is a delightful addition if you are a dog lover as we are. The pool looked very nice, but we did not ever go in it as we were off exploring beaches all the time. The garden area was very pretty.

You don't really need to rent a car, as taxis are there within 10 minutes of calling and are very cheap. 70 pesos into town. We rented a car from Los Treyes Reyes near the supermarket in Crucecitas. They had a good rate that included all the mandatory insurance and delivered it to our place. We dropped it off the morning we left for the airport and they drove us to the airport. Very nice.

Super positive experience staying at Agua Azul.

Very nice stay at this lovely Villa. Brook and Rick (and also Tango, their adorable dog) are great hosts. They have created a very nice and sociable environment for guests offering unforgettable breakfast. The rooms are good, not super-luxurious but if I ever visited Huatulco again, I would definitely love to go back to Agua Azul. A bit out of the main Town but we preferred it this way as it was very quiet and also had good access to a deserted beach within 15 minutes hike from the property or if you have a car, a five minute drive to a second deserted beach right next to the first one.

Magnificent, magical, wonderful are just a few descriptors to describe our stay at Agua Azul la Villa. With its breath taking views of the Pacific, this is no ordinary B&B. Brooke and Rick make you feel truly welcome and add to the specialness of the Blue Water house. It's almost like visiting with good friends, but you have your own private and separate room on different levels with spacious terrace, palapa and wonderful ocean views. In essence your own private oasis. If you're tired of the impersonality of the all inconclusive and want something truly unique, memorable and special and want to relax in a tranquil and serene setting with stunning ocean views, you must try Agua Azul la Villa. The real differentiator is how helpful and great Brooke and Rick are in making your stay a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Huatulco is my new favourite spot in Mexico. Charming, friendly, safe with a great variety of restaurants and with many things to do. Highly recommend and would come back in a heartbeat. Overall rating 5++ out of 5.

Brooke and Rick and their awesome dog Tango are absolutely wonderful and gracious hosts. They are perfectly fluent in English and Spanish and truly make you feel welcome and ensure you enjoy your stay. One of the advantages is they can offer a wide range of advice as it relates to restaurants, tours and things to do and can help you arrange these for you.

I can't say enough about this place. Comfortable, clean, relaxing and the grounds are gorgeous. Close enough to all the sights, yet you feel tucked away in your own little paradise. Brooke and Rick make you feel welcome the minute you walk in the door, as does their dog, Tango. They serve the best coffee in town and a delicious breakfast that gives you a good start to your day. I would highly recommend Agua Azul la Villa.

Aqua Azul la Villa is unique

This is a very special B&B because the hosts are so caring that you feel as if you have just visited friends when you leave. This Canadian couple has lived there many years, built the business up themselves, and speaks Spanish. They participate in the community and know what is going on. Guests go back year after year; that speaks for itself.

Relaxing Stay at a Beautiful Location

Loved our stay at Agua Azul la Villa. Rick and Brooke were lovely hosts. We had the best water pressure out of all the places we stayed in Mexico ;) The bed and breakfast itself was gorgeous. This is away from the city, so not close to stuff but that's exactly what we wanted. It's not hard to get a cab in though. The private beach was our favorite part, we were out there for about 4 hours and had the whole beach to ourselves! Would recommend if you're looking for a relaxing stay after the hustle and bustle of a city.

Relaxing in Huatulco

We enjoyed the views, chatting with Brooke &Rick, playing with Tango and the day pass beach day at Celeste. We highly recommend the day at Celeste, ask Brooke about it, and be sure to enjoy the fish strips/ ceviche......it was outstanding! It makes our mouth water just to think about it. Otherwise the beach is far, and you need a cab to get to town and other bahias.

Gorgeous, private, and quiet.

We had the best time staying at Agua Azul. Richard and Brooke were very welcoming, and Tango (the hotel pet) was a joy to be around. Breakfast was delicious each morning. The views from the hotel are great. There are two beaches within a five to ten minute walk from the B&B. One beach is a free virgin beach that requires a little bit of a hike through a semi rugged trail (not too vigorous) - we visited this beach on one of the days, and it was beautiful; we didn't see any other people on that beach for the five hours we were there. The second beach is privatized and charges an entry fee, but the majority of the entry fee is given back to you as a credit to use for food or beverages - it's definitely worth it. It ends up being about $400 pesos per person, but that gets you quite a bit - and the beach is gorgeous.

Another great thing about the B&B is that you have 24 hr access to the pool - which I feel like never happens at hotels anymore.

Lastly, you will need to take cabs everywhere from the B&B, but cabs show up within minutes of calling. Cabs to town cost about $50 pesos, and cabs to the airport will run you about $250 pesos.

Nice B&B with good ocean view

This is a B&B and not a hotel, make no mistake about that. There is a large dog that frequents the common area. If you have an issue with that, book elsewhere. The place is nice and secure within a gated community. There really is a nice ocean view. For planning purposes, be aware that a taxi or private car will be required to go to most destinations as there is little to nothing available within walking distance for dining and shopping. In December 2014, the taxi fare from the B&B to the main center of town was 50 pesos.

All what we expected & more

We spent four nights in the hotel to revisit some places we visited long time ago when we got married and almost nothing was yet built in the area. The place has a beautiful view of the Bahia de Conejos and we really found it to be a great place to rest and go outside for sightseeing. We got a couple of days with sun even if weather forecast did not show that. An interesting restful alternative to other \"noisier\" resort destinations in Mexico.

Friendly B and B close to quiet clean beach

The rooms in this B and B are terraced and offset above a lovely little garden and pool. The beach is a 5 minute walk and involves a brief and friendly sign in as you go through the Celeste Hotel (?) Beach Club entrance. Breakfast at Agua Azul is yogurt, beautiful fruit plates, assortment of breads/muffins etc and excellent coffee. The dining room is large and open with a stunning view of the ocean. Although some distance from Tangolunda and Crucecita it was never a problem as the taxi service is superb. Some restaurants would deliver if we didn't feel like eating out.

Wonderful Stay

Our stay at Agua Azul La Villa couldn't have been better. We stayed in the delfin room which like all the rooms have a lovely terraza with a hammock but we think it had the best view over the sea and the pool. We didn't close the curtains at night and we awoke to fantastic orange sunrises andt night you can sit under the stars. Although there is a nearby beach (a 10 min walk through the trees) and a cab ride from the road accessible beaches, at times we were happy enough to just stay at the viilla. Brooke & Rick have created a wonderful friendly environment. Breakfast was communal with other guests, and it was nice to talk and interact over coffee and homemade muffins. On a practical level - it is far from shops and restaurants but a cab to La Crucecita/Santa Cruz was only 50 pesos and they had a selection of menus that you could order food for delivery, There is also a little kitchen area where you can heat & prepare food. Ask about any tour that you want to go on and they can arrange it for you. We even had a massage on our terazza - highly reccommended. If it wasn't such a long way from home I would go back

NOT FOR YOUNG ADVENTUROUS PEOPLE

Nice hotel in a gated community; ideal for retired people (indeed retired Canadians or Americans), everything is very regimented. Nice rooms with loud air conditioning, hardly any toiletry in the bathroom. There is no convenient access to the beach different from what they advertise. They have a dog you have to pet so if you don't like dogs/are allergic, stay away. They need to do a better job cleaning after him. This is kind of a hostel for old people, not good for families or adventurous loners. Good and generous breakfast. They are changing ownership so current owners are nice people but seem hardly invested in improving anything at this point.

Muy buen anfitrión Frank! El lugar es tranquilo con una vista muy bonita, despertar y ver el amanecer sobre el mar es maravilloso.
Cerca está una playa donde pudimos ver a un delfín pequeño nadar cerca de la orilla. Las vacaciones estuvieron fenomenales!
