The location was great. The hotel itself is very much in need of an update. There were tiles missing in the bathroom floor, the rug needs stretching, the lighting in bathroom was less than ideal.

The room was ok, but quite dated and there was a lot of noise, both from outside and from adjoining rooms. Being put on the 3rd floor with no lift was pretty inconvenient. If you're not a very confident driver, or in a small car, the car park they use is extremely tight. I wouldn't stay here again.

This is a solid 3 star property, there are no frills & their description of room etc is honest.

Pro’s - it is extremely conveniently located & all of Sydney is waiting, staff are very helpful and welcoming.

Did find the rooms were quite dated, with patched maintenance evident.
The staff were nice, although we didn’t have much interaction with them. The room was clean, bed firm and they have a stocked mini bar. No lift, but we were aware of that when booking and it only has two upper floors.

The room was below standard. Bathroom had mould on all surfaces and the shower curtain has never been washed!!! Has a BROTHEL vibe about it with mirrors everywhere. Everything is extremely old and worn, furniture damaged.
Extremely noisy, can hear all noise from other guests.
No lift and no assistance with luggage.
Off site parking was ridiculous price. No kitchen or restaurant and nearby cafes were very low quality. Extremely dissatisfied, such a waste of time and money.

The woman who served us at the front desk was lovely and very accomodating! The room was quite nice and facilities were good to use, although the air con may need just a slight dust. The nearby parking garage was a very easy walk, the location is great as its so close to the train station, and overall it was a very nice experience! We will definitely be coming here again.

Kirketon rooms and staff were fantastic. However the back section of the building hosts functions and parties. As we left the building in the early evening blackjack tables were being brought into the back section. When we returned later in the night the party was in full swing. People spilling out on the street having a disagreement about something looking like they were about to punch on. The noise kept going into the early hours of the morning.
Accomodation wise it’s fantastic just check if there’s a function on before you book.

Disrupted Sleep Due to Noise

I stayed for two nights. The first was quiet, but the second night there was loud music until around 1AM. I was informed this came from a venue in the same building. I didn’t see any mention of this on the hotel's website. I contacted the hotel about the issue but didn’t receive a reply. Unfortunately, I didn’t sleep at all and wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

I stay at the Kirketon regularly to attend medical appointments nearby and have in the most part had pleasant experiences though the last two stays the cleanliness is poor. The linen (pillows specifically) appeared to have not been changed or washed properly and smelled used.

Best quality boutique hotel in Sydney which has a convenient location near public transport and restaurant belt. The room was clean and well-equipped. The service was topnotch. I was unwell one day and in bed for most of the day time. I requested a turndown service but didn’t expect to be done as housekeeping staff had already gone but voila the room was made up when I came back from dinner. Thank you for the superb and accommodating service. Kudos to housekeeping and reception staff. You’re all valuable assets to the team.

Hotel not as advertised rooms need updated tea & coffee in a cuboard with no light, light in wardrobe didnt work, bathroom claustrophobic, had to leave all curtains closed as windows dirty and no net up so anyone could see in from across street, it says it has a bar & restaurant we never seen bar as they said it was only open 1 night a week and restaurant a small cafe next door and closes at 2pm sorry but definitely not one we would go back too

Basic hotel but very old

It was a very basic hotel with tiny room and zero views as it's right against another building. For 200 a night I think it's over priced. Location is great but also music from the pub is loud till late. The room itself is very small but with a good size bathroom. It does feel very outdated as well. Basically nothing terrible but also nothing good. If it was like 120 then it's not bad but 200 is not worth it

I was really impressed with this lovely little hotel. It wasn't perfectly polished in every space, but it was clean and tidy. Everything worked in the room, plenty of bedding - actually the king bed in our Superior Room was maybe a little too firm, but that's my only complaint. Just be aware there isn't a lift in the building, so be ready for a few stairs. Otherwise we had a lovely stay. Oh - and the cafe attached makes damn good coffee!

Property is about 30 years overdue for a renovation. Paying guests don't want to drag their heavy luggage up to the second floor - for the overprice you charge, put in a lift. The bar on the ground floor stank & should be mentioned in the \"amenities\". The slat windows with no flyscreens in the bathroom is just ridiculous. The chipped sink in the dirty bathroom was gross & there's nowhere to put the open soap except loose on the shelf. The shower curtain not reaching the floor was ick. Website says no parking, yet I saw a guest receive a parking voucher - would have been handy to know when I booked. I guess the best part of the whole room was the coffee & tea facilities. I'll never stay here again, and I will tell everyone to avoid The Kirketon Hotel.
