We’ve stayed here before, as the location is perfect for our purposes.
Walk from Museum Station, public transport to/from anywhere, walkable to anywhere in the city.
We visit Sydney regularly to attend a Specialist in Macquarie Street which is a short, pleasant walk.
Lots of food options close by, or can make use of the kitchenette in room.
There is a convenience store downstairs which lives up to its name!

This is a very tired property. The common areas are scruffy. The room - despite being upgrade to a one bedroom apartment - was well past its prime. Cracks and damage in the tub. A shower curtain rail held together with tape. Painted patch repairs all over the ceiling and walls. Bubbling and cracked film on the windows. A deeply ingrained smell of smoke through the apartment, but particularly from the bed. Odour in the hallways. Dirty stairwell leading to the pool and gym. No towels in the pool/gym area. Overall, it was just an unpleasant stay for the price point and apparent star rating. Only saving grace was the location - very convenient.

A great semi-budget hotel in a perfect location!

Check-in was easy and we were given a WONDERFUL room with great views of the city across Hyde Park. The room itself was also very spacious and had a nice sized balcony (although we didn't have much time to use it).
The hot tub and pool on the roof had amazing views. We used the hot tub both nights and it was the perfect was to relax after a long day.

This is the second stay at this property.
I recommend it as it is clean, close to transport, walkable to city and groceries.
The only complaint I had this visit was the fact that my 2 x balcony doors did not lock. This was reported to the front desk.
Otherwise I would stay here again.

Entire building is tired and smells of cigarettes. Dishwasher in my room had distractingly large 'out of order' sign on dishwasher. Did not provide a compliant tax invoice with GST - tried to claim that a 2-day stay was input taxed.

Great location in Sydney. Walkable to Opera house or Darling Harbor. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Kids loved the rooftop pool and hot tub. Was a little cool in July so they spent most of the time in the hot tub.
Rooms were not as nice as the pictures and had stained furniture. They may have updated some rooms but the ones we had were old and the hallways had scuffed walls and didn’t seem well kept.
They were doing construction on the 15th floor and it woke up our kids and we were on the 13th floor. Our group on the 11th floor said they could hear the noise as well.
If you are expecting rooms to be as nice as the pictures you may be disappointed like we were.

Fair, needs an upgrade.

This is in a very convenient location however the hotel is starting to show it's age with it's shabby carpeting and much needed paintwork. View across to Hyde Park is lovely but hard to see through the windows which really needed cleaning.
Minimal kitchen equipment supplied, one pot with a broken handle is not quite good enough although it was instantly replaced upon request, and the staff were pleasant to deal with.
No tissues, no pen or paper provided and no ability to download a movie through Netflix, etc to a non-intuitive Tv. A bit frustrating at the end of a busy day when I only wanted to just sit back and relax.
Comfortable bed, nice size apartment and a clean but very ageing bathroom with a step over bath and no grip bars for support.
A mixed bag, really only a fair standing but the convenience of location does have it's advantages

Basic 3 star sorely in need of refurbishment and maintenance. Lovely view of Hyde Park with small supermarket conveniently close. Few good cafes and eateries close-by but Museum train station is a short walk across the park. Noisy at night.

Tricky one to review, I booked at their lowest rate for the NYE in Sydney well in advance so can not complain about the room to much, we were up on the 15th floor with a balcony which had a breath taking view over Hyde Park, the room itself and floor in general looks a bit run down and could do with a renovation, the room was a strange shape and again could do with some renovation, the bed was smallish but probably all that would fit in the bedroom space, there was little space on one side of the bed, it had the amenities you would expect though, where the room won me over was the view from the balcony, breathtaking 180 degree view of Sydney and Hyde Park which was great to wake up to every morning and seeing lit up every night, overall room was so so, view was fantastic

The location was excellent. The room was basic, but large and clean enough. The price we paid for it's location was very reasonable. We loved the pool, hot tub and sauna.
Just a few minor issues - no toiletries in the room, no remote control for the tv and not enough towels. All easily rectified by the staff when we notified them, but would have been good if the room had been properly stocked on arrival.
Would definitely stay here again despite the minor issues.

Location is great however completely run down hotel / apartment for derelicts who seem to live there full time.

Dirty hallways, dirty rooms. Loud aircon, smell of smoke, dogs barking. Cheap furniture and it feels like it.

10am check out to top it all off. Terrible hotel and Oaks HQ should be ashamed.

Stay was outdated but have full equipped utensils for cooking. The place is few hundred metres from museum station & near to some of the places of interests like St. Mary, Hyde park, Australian museum. It’s quite spacious for 2 but the bathroom keep sipping water out from the tub make toilet wet after shower.

Doors and walls throughout entire apartment were patchy with paint, needs a repaint. Bedroom doors rattled, windows wouldn’t latch shut, massive stains on carpet.
Felt very unclean and definitely not worth the price we paid for the night.

The building is in a good location but it is really old and in need of maintenance/refurbishment.

We stayed for 3 nights/ 4 days and incredibly didn’t include daily room clean and only got toiletries enough for one person one night, when I asked in reception they said minimum 1 week stay qualifies for room cleaning. So in the end had to go to reception everyday to get soap/shampoo/towels

Separate lift access card to the room key and they get damaged easily, again requiring a trip to reception.

They have spa, sauna and pool but spa was not working and sauna looked a bit in bad shape and sauna amenities quite dirty.

Only positives, location in front of Hyde park and near museums, and view from roof top pool.

Comfortable, strong windows block car noise. Staff ok. Aircon/heating a bit hard as would not adjust so two lounge room windows open to let some air in while in the unit made it comfy. Would go back again. The view of part across the street was so nice.

The Property felt very run down, something that a lick of paint throughout the whole building would make a big improvement, cigarette burns in the curtains shows that the rooms can’t be inspected properly after each new customer. Just a general feel of grubbiness throughout. Pool and Spa wasn’t bad on the roof but even here scum marks around the water line.

Booked an 'executive' 2 bedroom apartment .... hmmm... nothing executive about it lol. Very standard 2 bedroom. Only 1 bathroom which was the size of a linen cupboard. Stated recently refurbished but I'd say that was more than 10 years ago. Many marks on walls and furnishings, curtains quite grubby. Kitchen was good. Beds comfy. Good location.

Very run down compared to Oaks I have stayed at in past. The corridors are very dirty. The A/C in the room struggled with the heat on the windows and throughout the night with the room door shut either hot or cold. The plus was the receptionist and the location. And $50 to park in a very tight confine........

Can't recommend this place. While the apartment was large and well cleaned albeit basic, the noise from outside busy streets and traffic was constant and unbearable. No double glazing on any windows and a bedroom on the corner of Liverpool and Oxford streets meant every night's sleep here was terrible. Get some noise suppression measures or double glazing people!

This hotel is in a beautiful location being nearby Hyde Park. It is an easy walk to the Museum train station and various bus stops. The gym, while limited with equipment, was clean and the machines looked brand new.
The kitchenette was clean and well-stocked.

The hotel just needs a bit of TLC, parts are starting to look a little worn out. One of our bath towels had a hole in it, some paint was chipped in the rooms and hallways. The swimming pool water was not clear, or appeared inviting.

Perfect place for family travellers

Right next to Sydney Hyde Park. Close to the city center, only a 30min walk to the Opera House.

The suite had two bedrooms with one king bed each. Perfect to accommodate 4 people though we were only two.
The kitchen is extremely good. With the facilities listed in the introduction, it also has:
a frying pan
a pot
spoons, forks, and knives
a dish washer and an oven
I really enjoyed staying there.

The only weak point is that it has only one bathroom. So If you travel with 4 people you will have to wait a while for everyone to take a shower.

Requested Park view & was told it depended on availablity, arrived & was given great room with park view on 8th floor, fixtures could do with updating, bathroom had step into bath to have shower which is unusual nowadays but was not a hassle.

Occasional slamming doors in hallway, but that happens nearly everwhere you stay.

Was close to everything & although TV was in room, never had time to use it.

Have stayed beofre in an exucutive suit so know the differance in rooms .When you are travelling for business you expect to be able to have enough spce to work on your computer

Great big huge comfy bed.Kitchenette was very handy. Spacious room with comfortable furnishings and lighting.Parking is expensive but same anywhere. At least there is the option to park on premises.Didnt sleep too well with traffic noise as windows dont quite seal and are not double glazed
