Stayed at the Rydges because it was close to the train station. Wanted to take the train to the airport but the train were under maintenance on the weekend. We had to take uber the next day.
Check in was easy, I was able to get an early check in. The staff didn’t confirm if I had breakfast included and didn’t provide wi-fi access at time of check-in. I had to ask later.
The elevators were slow.

Pool and Sauna should be accessible until 11pm or later, only had 1 towel in my room, when asked for someone to drop it off, was told I can just pick it up from reception, had a card to Greg on my bed, my name is not Greg, so not sure if the room was even cleaned before my arrival as it was not the day after and only cleaned 2/3 nights. Still would stay again, staff were pleasant and you have a brewery and a sauna, which is more than I expected and made me stay in the hotel longer than I would have otherwise.

The staff were lovely, particular at check in and check out. Also, we need some maintenance, and the maintenance person was marvellous.

The size of the room and bathroom were good, and the facilities such as the desk and chair were very useful, as was the two-seater lounge.

I'm not keen on the lights over the bed, and prefer side table lights, but understand they are probably easier to care for.

The cleaners forgot to replace a couple of items, but this was minor. The bed wasn't that well made, but also this was easily rectified. Possibly they just need a reminder.

The hotel reception was clean and tide with all staff helpfull,. Tha room was a very good size and could have been very comfortable, but the cleaning let the room down badly. The bathroom floor only cleaned in main floor area, around vanity and walls and toilet have not been cleaned for ages. Booked late after a last minute change of work plans, and found this within budget. Absolutely exceeded expectations. Room on 6th Floor (an upgrade) was great. Spacious, well appointed, comfortable bed and - the standout - very nice effective black blinds. Slept perfectly.

Gym was good, but busier than other cdb hotels I use regularly. Pool nice, sauna was out of order.

Got a couple of drinks vouchers through hotels.com Silver status and was able to use the m in the Brewery next door. Massive bonus, that. Good atmosphere, better than a regular hotel bar. Great grilled fish too.

Will stay again when available.

Wonderful stay! Incredibly convenient city location, less than 5 mins from Central station with a Woolies and 7-11 on the neighbouring corners. Friendly, helpful and accessible staff. Very spacious, clean and nicely furnished room, I could even connect the chrome cast from my phone to the TV which was great during downtime. Delicious buffet breakfast and even its own little boutique cinema with daily screenings for kids & grown ups! This will definitely be my go-to city hotel from now on!

I have dietary requirements and when asked about the food I needed I felt the response was off handed and abrupt. There were some staff who were very accommodation and some less so and abrupt.

Pros: Reception staff very helpful. Comfortable beds, spacious room. Pool, spa and sauna good. Room service expensive but meals were great (chicken parmigiana). Breakfast nice.
Cons: Air conditioning in room not cool enough. Set on 17 but felt much warmer. Housekeeping did not provide enough towels for the number of guests registered to the room on one occasion, but this was addressed by reception staff.

The room was very hot, the coolest we could ever get it was 22 celsius or 72 fahrenheit. The hottest was 24 celsius or 75 fahrenheit. This made it very uncomfortable to sleep. I wish I was able to post pictures because I would love to post pictures of the filthly fan they sent us.

The whole experience was fantastic but it all started with the outstanding desk staff that did our check in who happened to be the same person that checked us out.
Room was not ready when we first arrived, and the staff were very remorseful but quite informative as to why the room was not
They gave us free drink vouchers to help overcome any grief
The room and the condition of the hotel was really pleasant and the bed and overall comfort was outstanding.
I would recommend this hotel to all of my friends and family

The Good: Helpful & friendly staff, perfect location in the CBD - close to Central station & walking distances to shops, restaurants/cafes & groceries.
Amenities are decent - gym & Pool are handy.
Breakfast buffet had a good selection of food types.

The Bad: Cleaning/service staff. Our room was acceptable on check in - but the days after showed quick decline of how the room was being \"cleaned\"
The room was never vacuumed, our coffee cups were never replaced/cleaned (so we only had coffee once), toilet paper was never refilled once (upon check out, we were up to the last roll with a single use left)

Our young toddler also threw up during one of the nights, we managed to get him into the shower - and cleaned up the mess as much as we could. (this was around 3pm and our room still hadn't been cleaned that day)
We called the front desk to notify the incident and that the room may require extra attention during the service.
Later, we met the cleaner and explained the situation - to which they just replaced our towels and left. And their version of cleaning our bathroom was using our old towels and wiping down the walls. Very disgusting. No disinfectant sprays etc.

We felt like we were living in a bacteria filled room. No wonder our baby vomited!!

More the AUS$1000 for 2 night just too much for this hotel.
Plus extra for parking. Such a high price per night for a hotel room in that area.
Free drink for visit had good intention but bar was chock-a-block full with crowded booked even meant it not possible to take the drink. A nice relaxing lounge is required for a welcome drink. Not a standing room only bar full of rowdy partying patrons. Good intentions gone wrong.

Completely disappointed in my stay the Aircon did not work in my room. 202 mini bar wasn’t restocked and had opened drinks and chips that I have been charged for. No bathroom necessities were restocked shampoo conditioner and body wash was told the pool temperature was 26° but felt like 19 when u got in so how is that a heated indoor pool?

This property’s elevator was painfully slow. We booked a double bed room and all they did was unzip the mattress in two and push it less than a foot apart from each other we might as well have booked a one bed. The bathroom did not have a fan and it was an extremely narrow space . The room was all very awkward and loud.

The hotel & room looked relatively new and clean. My room (Executive King Room) was quite spacious & it looked as advertised.
Location is good within walking distance from city center or other transportation means. Though, the streets around the hotel are not clean and are a bit uncomfortable at evening time.
The king bed is actually 2 twin beds together, so it's uncomfortable in the middfor a aolo person

Nice and close to central station, beds confortable, lifts are slow and no clear direction to take stairs as an alternative. Had room refreshed daily but did not replenish some of the towels etc so had to ask from them which took a while to bring up to the room, minor things and woud definately stay again. It was very close to public transport and shops near by. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It was at times a little noisy on the street, but overall we had a very pleasant stay. I felt the lifts were a bit slow which was the only drawback for us. We would definitely stay here again.
