Cannot be worse. The hotel is quite old and the taps won't close properly while the shower head keep falling down. That's still ok given the hotel is in a good location and the price charged isn't too bad. The worst part is that the hotel started doing renovation work with power drilling and hammering at 4am!! Spoken to the workers along with guest from another room and asked them to stop working. The answer we received was \"the hotel should have told you\". Power drilling stopped for a while and hammering continued. Went down to speak to the workers again with another room's furious guests. This time we told them that it is illegal to work with noise at these hours and I was calling the police to report this. Then they finally stopped at 4:40am. Only to start again at 7am!! At checkout when I complained to the front desk the staff said \"why are you being mad at me? I only work here. You should speak to management.\" When asking where management is, the answer was he's here somewhere. And nowhere to be found!! Worst ever experience with a hotel.

Construction work commenced at 6.15am within the establishment waking us up. I noticed when we arrived that renovations were underway on the ground floor but didn’t expect the rude awakening at 6.15am with loud voices, hammering, power tools etc, extremely loud.

Check-in and check-out was seamless (my first time checking in at a bar) and the staff were all wonderful. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and bathroom spotless. There are earplugs available to drown out the street noise. Getting to and from the airport is also seamless as the station entrance is across the road… we got to the airport in 15mins from leaving the hotel!

Checked in and 1st room aircon did not work. Eventually changed to different room. Much bigger than original room which had a very tiny bathroom. Both rooms had been newly renovated but walking down hallway felt and sounded like the floor was going to collapse. Staff were friendly but not professional. Very overpriced for what it is but prices seemed inflated for AC/DC concert dates.

On arriving at Property staff very helpful but room on my inspection had a shower door that only could be opened inwards, no way around it . notified staff who could not help as hotel was full, rang in morning and could not say if they had another room till others had booked out at 10am, difficult for me as I had meetings to attend at 8.30am elsewhere and my elderly husband I left there in room, then had to leave my important meeting to rearrange moving all into a new room which staff did send me notification of prior. but also that cleaners needed to clean my original room. just a comment by staff that they would be renovating bathrooms.I wonder who else had not complained re the shower and it was being cleaned for the next customer!!! On arriving back at the desk I only had an apologetic word from the lass on the Bar who was very helpful but not a word of apology from Proprietor. This hotel is convenient to my office and Trains, and have stayed before and meals very nice.

The room had small cockroaches which are common in Sydney CBD. The hotel is a late night poker machine venue, so a lot of dodgy people about. I don 't think I would stay there again

I had one night booked in this hotel. Couldn’t sleep because of the loud noises of trains and pedestrians beeping noises, it’s located in the corner of intersection and train track. Not good.

Used to be a great place to stay, but look elsewhere as they no longer offer bag storage facilities if you get there before check in.
I was lucky that they had the room ready by 12pm, but that would be the exception not the rule.

First of all, the room (#4) had issues with the electronic key. It would only open the room door after many attempts. The lock was dodgy. The room was covered in a layer of dust. The bathroom appeared like it hadn’t been cleaned properly in years. There were water marks on the top of the bathroom vanity and the corners of the room and every piece of furniture were dusty and I’m convinced the bathroom only gets mopped once a week. The sink in the bathroom was cracked. The room was of a good size and most of the street noise was kept out by the windows and curtains. The chairs were uncomfortable to sit in and I’m glad I didn’t bring a black light with me because I’m sure the place would have lit up like Christmas. The fridge had been turned off at the wall and was leaking water from the freezer defrosting into the bottom of it.

But the staff were lovely and friendly. Check in was easy. The location is great and very convenient to public transport. Sack the cleaners though. You cannot get a more central position in Sydney than this Hotel, it is right next to Central Station south eastern entrance. It is an old building with the rooms modernized and now all include private shower and toilet facilities. Some rooms are small but functional. There is a lift that services both floors of rooms. Breakfast is not available, but Dinner certainly is in the Bistro at the Bar. Prices of rooms vary depending on season and City activities, but overall are not expensive. I recommend this place if you need Sydney City accommodation.
