Room itself not bad but terrible street, almost an alley, small old smelly entry and elevator. Staff take your info and have you sign an no further info. Area did not feel safe

Room was clean. First night no ac, second night the ac was working, but stopped during the night. Room had all white walls, gray concrete floor that was sticky. Plenty of shops are around the area. Entrance was always locked, had to use the door bell or room key to enter the building. No phone or radio in the room, and the inside lock inside the room was the old chain lock.

Room wasn’t as well looked after as previous reviews had stated. Most areas were in need of a good deep clean. Floor was sticky & felt dirty. Bed was comfortable though. Bathroom was a bit dated, shower head wouldn’t stay in place unless water pressure was low. All in not great but was able to stay.

Room was basic and in need of refurbishment, very old fashioned furniture.

Reception was not manned and took us over 10 minutes to get someone’s attention to let us into the building upon check in, there was a number to call but due to our SIM card we could not get through ! We had to bang on the door to get a cleaners attention!

Lift carpet was absolutely filthy, but rooms were clean.

Location was great for public transport but we would not chose to stay again - price reflected the standard

Great location in the Haymarket not far from China town and the trams. Apartment was clean and well equipped. Although there was blinds at all the windows it was quite bright at night so if you like to sleep in darkness use an eye mask. There was air con units running outside but not all night. We didn't see the person on reception often, he did arrange a taxi for us but it never turned up

We stayed in the Heritage Suit 2 bedroom. Beds & pillows very comfortable. The shower hot with good pressure.
If you want to watch TV or just sit in the lounge room the seating is inadequate. The lounge is not a lounge it is a sloping bed which at most will seat 2. Apart from that there is a small window seat. Luckily we were only staying 1 night, otherwise would have to have congregated in the main bedroom to be entertained.
Valentine on George is in a great location with an easy walk to Central Station. Staff very friendly.

The property looks dismal from outside and there is only someone at reception after check-in time so I couldn't get out of the heat 30 minutes early. However, once in, I found the room excellent. The bathroom was modern and the bed comfortable. The room was serviced.

Perfect for what I needed, ie close to central station and reasonable price for CBD hotel. Room was clean and modern. Staff friendly. Only minor issue I had was it’s the first time in ages I’ve had a hotel room with no cable TV or facility to stream to hotel telly. Not make or break on an over nighter but would be for longer stay. Good eating options close by.

Great option for an inner city stay.

Great room. Ive stayed before and it was just as good as last time. The room is spacious and the king size bed is really comfortable with good pillows. Plenty of seating and a small table.Good instant coffee and biscuits. Only thing id like changed is the cups as they are too hard to grip .

We arrived at 4pm after the short walk from the station with a lot of luggage in pouring rain.
We could not get into the foyer.
We called the intercom twice.
No answer.
Nowhere to stand out of the rain!!
Luckily a guest came by and let us into the foyer out of the rain!
We then had to make a phone call to find someone to allot us our room. No be one at reception. At 4pm!
This is terrible in my view.
The hotel was ok. Decent sized rooms but will not stay here again when you can't even check in without dramas!!!

We chose this hotel for its proximity to Central Station as we had an early morning departure. Room was disappointing in that it felt and looked unclean. Wife is asthmatic and she really suffered from the dust. Lighting was poor and black tiles in the bathroom made it nearly impossible to see anything clearly. Painted concrete floor had a very industrial feel and made the room quite cold at night. Bed was comfortable, extra blanket was badly stained.

Have to dial an intercom to get in. Intercom wasn’t answered multiple times and had to ring the number then wait 5min to be let in.
Check in staff were friendly. Room was comfortable for the night but probably not ideal for a longer stay. Walls are very thin and sounds carried from the next room as if they were in my own room.

Spectacular Sydney

We were in Sydney to go to a musical at Darling Harbour. The Valentine was located near the light rail line making the theatre very accessible to us. The area around the motel was vibrant with lots of eateries and close to public transport.
