A comfortable room. Only needed 1 night before cruise. No phone working in room. Cannot ring down to front desk. Small supermarket a few steps round the corner. Staff helpful.

The shower had no pressure and was pretty much cold. I stayed here for two nights. I let reception know after the first night and it seemed like they had tried to fix it. Shower th 2nd morning was almost as bad. Whilst the water pressure had improved slightly it was no where near what you would expect. Also the water was barely above cold. So effectly had a cold drizzle both mornings

1 ply toilet paper, lukewarm water AT BEST in the shower, very limited towels provided, rickety elevators that feel like they’ll fall at any moment and terrible bedsheets that fall apart through the night.

Terrible stay, only 2 stars because the location was convenient and the staff was friendly.

Beautiful staff at both check-in and check-out + very cool view overlooking Central Station.
Some issues with the cleanliness of the bed and bathroom, but didn't impact our one-night stay.

It's regretable that any guest prior to booking should made aware that there is cleaning service only on demand in this hotel. It's only when you check in , you got to know it. Staff were very helpful. We had the bad luck of an alarm , fire brigades were on spot. No one at reception to keep us informed due to limited staff. It turned out to be a false alarm. We could see the wear and tears of this property. It needs some refurbishment. Contrary to other revirws, we didn't come across and insects or any other bugs. In the morning st check out , the staff at reception didn't even know about the incident of alarm. The only positive point of this hotel is its location. It's the worst hotel property I ever experienced in 40 years.

Room was ok. Had everything we needed. Bed and hot shower. Could do with a bit of maintenance. The lobby is well presented however the rooms or ant least our room, are not of the same standard. Walls are grubby. Carpets dusty in places. Furniture worn. Needs repainting. Towels and linen worn. An update all round really. Left hand lift also requires a repair job. Very noisy in room 612 when opening and closing. Hearing it all the time. At first I thought it was the building construction on the opposite corner. We stayed for three nights. In town for the cricket. Great location for getting about. Price was ok. Booked in advance so got a good price. Glad I didn’t pay more. Just feel this hotel could lift its game a bit more.

Only stayed one night, but have stayed her previously. Clean and modern small basic room. Good aircon on a hot night, and good value for the quality, and location is next to Central Station. Good option at the right price.

The positives were the staff who were friendly and quick to respond to an air con issue, plus a really comfortable bed with a mattress topper (soft as!). Negatives would be dripping air con, only given one towel until we asked for another one. The hotel is close to central station and light rail.

The room was very average and smelled like urine. The mattress was old and squick every time you rolled to the side. The hallway was dirty and emergency exit sign was hanging on my one screw with electrical wires exposed.

I would not recommend this hotel or stay there again.

Probably the dirtiest hotel ever stayed at. Black mold on the roof of the bathroom, dust in the room corners so thick you couldn’t see the ground.
When we asked to store our luggage they said they would lock it in a room. But when we came back it was sitting in the hotel lobby in the exact same spot. Felt very unsafe with our belongings.

Stayed one night but almost didn't. As soon as I stepped out of the lift on floor 4 it stunk. It smelled like mold and so did the room. The showerhead looked it it has never been cleaned before. The aircon was blasting in my room probably trying to mask the smell but it just made it worse. Construction outside made it hard to sleep. Beds weren't made very well. Just felt dirty being in there with the smell and how run down it seemed.

The property is clearly in need of a renovation, with clapped-out carpets, damaged furniture and evidence of quick-fix maintenance. In my room the bathroom door was missing, with only hinges remaining. Reception is supposed to be 24-hour, but is usually unattended.

The Central Studio Hotel is conveniently located opposite the train station with a number of food chains in the area. Joseph on the front desk was very friendly and provided us with an upgrade as well as advice on the area along with some good laughs. The rooms are spacious with a comfortable large king size bed and walk in shower. Highly recommend and would stay again.

Only a 10 minute walk from Sydney Central Railway Station

Cons:
I’d asked for an accessible bathroom, or at least a shower chair, both when booking through Expedia, and then as a separate email directly to the property.
I would have at expected to be notified about the lack of this facility BEFORE I ARRIVED
Apart from having no shower chair for safety, there was nothing to hang onto …. There was a frameless shower screen, and the towel rails were 3 steps away from the shower.
Because of this unsafe arrangement, I shall not stay at this motel again.

In future bookings through Expedia, I would ask that if my request for a simple shower chair cannot be provided, would I at least be notified?

The room was a little tired and could do with a make over. Many of the light bulbs weren't working and curtains were missing from one of the windows, but it was clean, the shower was great and the bed was amazing, one of the most comfortable beds we have slept in.

Close to all the action.

Just a few minutes walk to Central Station and plenty of places to wine, dine and explore nearby. The bedding was comfortable, the room was clean and quiet, and the reception we received from Joseph was warm and welcoming. If our travels ever take us to Sydney City again we wouldn’t hesitate to book here again.

Staff are great and nice, they let us keep our baggage before and after check in. Location is great due to central station being right there. Lots of restaurants are walking distance. The major con of this hotel is the smell … my husband and I had to run from the elevator to our room plugging our noise from how awful it smells. They try to mask it in the elevators and main area but wow did it ever smell bad. The previous reviews were not kidding about the smell. Our floor too had a whole wet area on the carpet that kept growing each day, really hoping it wasn’t mold but due to the smell something funky is happening with this hotel. For a short stay it’s fine but any longer stay definitely chose a different hotel.

Ideal overnight stay, close to Central Station and plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance. Comfortable and clean room and surprisingly quiet considering that we overlooked the crossing at the station. Check in and out easy and staff friendly and helpful.

Was not clean, photos on the app are not a true representation of the room. Room had no extra pillows and no hairdryer. The bar fridge had no shelving, and froze my food. The cup was placed upside down and was 'stuck' to the saucer.

Staff were nice and explained I was not the only one complaining, and they were unable to change the situation. Would not stay again.

This accommodation is in a very convenient location - close to public transport and the hop on hop off bus. There are plenty of dining options as it is very close to Chinatown.
The room was a good size and the comfortable while the double glazing keep the noise levels down.

Broken fixtures in the bathroom, mould in the grouting. Carpets in poor condition with holes and rips. Staff not attentive to guests resulting in multiple visits to the desk. Replacement towel (only one of the two just thrown onto the towel rack. Toilet dirty. Could not open the blinds all the way as the sheer curtain did not cover the entire window. No concern for guests checked luggage, we waited over an hour for ours to be secured in the room and it was only done after we enquired about it twice. Dirty carpets with a layer of dust and had to get rid of 3 big bugs in the room.

Wonderful place to stay. The staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful. Great central location. A short walk from Central Station with plenty of transport options. The rooms were adequate for 2 people. Our only negative would be the lack of soundproofing (at least in the room we stayed in). You could easily hear noise and talking from adjacent rooms. But overall very happy with our stay and would stay here again.

Perfect as it's next to tram stop. Its spacious, clean & location is next to China Town/Haymarket, perfect spot with plenty of eateries.
