The room was clean but no fresh air because you couldn’t open the windows. The banging doors at night time were annoying. Other guests who were coming home at night were having chats in the corridor waking us all up. Maybe there should be signs on every floor reminding guests to be quiet after 9pm.

The environment of my floor had some unpleasant smell, No towel for provided for guest until client came down to ask at the reception and only one was offered. When I told reception I booked for two nights, I was told I can only have 1 and come back for another one later. This is unbelievable as I stay on the 8th floor. Also no bath soap was provided. On the positive side, wifi was good, the cafeteria/eating area good as well.

Everything, the location, right next to central station, easy to walk everywhere in CBD, to Circular Key, Darling Harbour Star City Casino, Lyric and Entertainment theatres/centers etc.

Love the lockers in room and also behind reception before and after your stay on checkin/out day to store your bags, so you can walk around without bags.

Have stayed at Sydney YHA many times.

Have stayed here a number of times now, I like the lockers up the stairs behind reception that you can put your own lock on that are big enough for a full size carryon bag and a school sized backpack and some other stuff. Same size as the ones in the dorm rooms.

Stayed here because the YHA Sydney Harbour was so great. YHA Sydney Central was a shock. Really dirty. Cleaners are definitely understaffed for sure. Bathrooms were foul. Hair and plasters on the floor. The cubicles themselves were tiny and had to practically contort yourself to shut the door. The kitchen was no better. The fridges were full of mouldy food and smelled revolting. The kitchen itself was really dirty, the microwaves were gross.

It is passable if all You want is a bunkbed. But other than This, The Property was pretty much lacking. Many common areas were dirty, for example, the tables and chairs in The Lobby. There was No Coffee available on Property or in surrounds until after 6am, which is problematic when You have 7am flights... Plus common areas are closed from 11pm - 6am. Not really a Property seeking to cater to a cosmopolitan or travelling crowd.

This is a fantastic 5 star backpackers to stay. Very convenient location next to Central Station, transport is everywhere you want it, walking distance to local shops and restaurants. Easy to check in and a nice waiting area to wait and relax if you are arrive to early. Rooftop pool and BBQ area was great, I stayed in a Queen Room and the bed was heaven, good size TV also. Noise didn't affect me, and I can't really fault the place at all. Would definitely stay here again

Excellent establishment for hotels and hostel accommodation. Very friendly staff, cafe prices very good. Being mainly a hostel lots of activities every day so quite a friendly buzz (not load). Rooftop modest swimming pool with views over the city.

Unfortunately, it was advertised on Expedia as more of a hotel and not a hostel, for the particular room we reserved. There was no phone or no refrigerator. The pictures on Expedia showed a large window overlooking the area. When in fact it was a large circular \"porthole\" almost 2 meters off the floor. It was nothing like what we expected for the mount paid per night. I had prescription medication that required refrigeration. I was told \"Not to worry\", we can put them in the common use refrigerator, which all backpackers have access to. They were finally able to come up with a few frozen ice bags. They were kind enough to take my ice bags and put them in the employee refrigerator.
***Be aware that all forms of transportation, with the exception of the light rail, cannot pick-up or drop off at the front entrance. Uber & taxis have to stop a1/2 block away in an alley or across the street at the bus stop. Not particularly bad if all you have is a backpack. But, when you have several suitcases and hand carried it is very inconvenient. It was not mentioned when booking.
I will compliment the staff for doing all they could do to assist us with the issues and helping on checkout with our luggage. I would highly recommend for backpackers, but for the same cost per night those looking for hotel type amenities, hotels are available in the area.

I loved the convenient location for transport to all parts of the city; the staff were great-very kind and helpful. Great value for two sharing a room with ensuite. Took me a while to acquaint myself with the procedures for self-cooking, food storage etc in the communal kitchen and dining rooms, but people were helpful. Bed was really comfortable. No complaints!

Nice just for backpackers

This is a nice place for backpackers with good kitchen facility. However it is not a normal hotel. The room condition was too poor. Too noisy all over nights, no table or shampoo. I paid $8 for leaving luggages for 5hrs. It is worth no more than $90 per night.

Good location and convenience to everything

Check-in was quick and easy. Very clean in the whole building. Renovation is still underway in some area but did not affect my stay.

Two things that I have come across. First one is that I was inside the same lift with an extremely smelly man (not shower for few days). I hope he was not staying in shared dome room.

Secondly, minor urine smell coming out from a number of toilet bowls on 6th floor.

Decent hostel

Average hostel that’s pretty clean and comfortable. Some grime in the bathrooms - but I dare you to find me a hostel where that’s not also true. The big selling point here is the location - literally right next to Central Station (1 minute walk). Perfect for getting a ride to/from the airport, the blue mountains, or even up to Brisbane or down to Melbourne. Literally every transport option leaves from there. The hostel is big and accepts guests of all ages, so you have to wander the property a bit to meet people. There’s a great cafe next door (InCafe) with good coffee and the cheapest happy hour in the city - $6 pints 👍 Overall, I’d recommend this place

Very big hostel, with lots of travellers - so the common areas and the lifts get crowded quickly. Fridges are always overflowing with bags and food.

However the overall cleanliness of the hostel is outstanding! Especially the bathrooms and other areas that have lots of foot traffic.

Would be great to remind clients, at check in and maybe by using humorous posters- to close doors quietly. My last trip was a 2 weeks stay. Seems like it’s a kind of contest every night or in the early morning to bang doors while the rest of us are sleeping (or trying to!).

Staff is nice and helpful, but sometimes look overwhelmed?

Would book again, mainly because of the fantastic location.

Super convenient location for overnight in Sydney when transiting through the airport, priced well. Facilities dated and run down. Bathrooms mouldy and not clean, quite gross. Other guests behaved poorly, slamming doors, screaming and chatting in the hallways in the middle of the night.
