The cold water in the shower wasn’t working on the first day we arrived, which was especially frustrating after just getting off an eleven-hour flight. When we called reception, we were told the mechanics had already gone home for the day and that it wouldn’t be fixed until the next day. As a result, we had no choice but to shower in extremely hot water.
The rooms and overall condition of the hotel feel quite outdated and not very well maintained. The cleanliness also needs improvement, and the property could definitely use a makeover.

On the second day, we requested that the bedsheets be changed. After housekeeping came, several of my belongings were moved or misplaced—my earplugs went missing, my pajamas that were originally on the bed were thrown onto a chair, my hair tie that was on the nightstand was left on the floor, and my slippers were pushed under the bed.

Overall, it was a pretty disappointing experience, and unfortunately I would not stay here again.

An underwhelming stay. The hotel vas very tired and in need of refurbishment. The room had no air con working and made for an uncomfortable stay.

The hotel is dated and needs upgrading. The elevators are slow and one is out of service. The rooms lack any sort of storage (e.g. - dresser, drawers, etc.) and have limited charging options - there was an Ethernet cord, justifying again the datedness of the hotel. The ceilings and floors/carpet are stained and the beds are a bit tired. Not what we expected…..However, the complimentary wine on M-W afternoons and $3 coffees were nice.

Rooms are clean, mattress and pillows are very good, and location is excellent. There’s parking next door (extra cost), but you’re very close to light rail, so no real need for the car once you’re checked in. Breakfast is also good. It is an older hotel and the layout of the rooms and the breakfast area reflect that. Most rooms have a view of other buildings, even at the Executive’ levels of 17 and 18. It’s a good, solid choice for a few days in Sydney if you can get it at the right price.

The accommodation itself was more than great but the the delay in checkin which was already. a 3 pm check-in pushed back to 5 pm . ) was not acceptable. Also. One out of three lifts were operating despite the excess of all new travellers all being delayed in check-in needing to be homed. The one lift took 20 minutes to use due to s family holding it up on the 8th floor. Some people caught the lift on its way up because they couldn’t get on it to go down. Definitely needs to be addressed so others aren’t disappointed with what could have been a very pleasant stay. No confidence in getting in and out after that! The linen service should be looked at as well. There should have been linen bc available for the day to set up the rooms on time.

I tried to contact the hotel for multiple days & numerous times but did not receive any answer or response. Calls, emails, messages..nothing. The booking was for an incorrect date and there was no way for me to rectify or cancel this even though the reservation was refundable.

If they can’t even answer any correspondence, why would I think they’re a decent hotel?

Room was clean and comfortable. Bed was on the softer side just in case you like firm, fyi. Pool area was adequate. Ray makes the best $3 coffees in lobby. Restaurant had good food and don’t pass on the Whipped Ricotta and honey entree. Staff super nice and pleasant.
Great location for exploring large fish market or QVB. Longer walk(40 min), but can to Circular Quay and the Rocks. Train/ Light Rail near by is also an easy option. Would stay here again!

First time stay. I loved everything about this hotel - convenience to the sightseeing, quiet surroundings because the location is slightly off of the busy road, and view from the window was great too. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Front desk staff named Vee tried to force us into signing up for the hotel group's membership, saying it was \"mandatory\". When we couldn't get the log in to work and told her we were happy to wait until our normal check in time (which was in 20 minutes), she said don't worry about it. I have never ever had front desk staff try to force me into signing up for a hotel membership, it was always suggested for benefits like early check in. Needless to say this experience has really soured the first impressions of the hotel and its staff.

The alarm rang a few times when I was sleeping. I did not know how to turn it off, so I rang the hotel staff to come to pick up the alarm. No one came.
Not enough lifts at the morning peak hours. Had to walk downstairs.

Hotel is good overall. But really requires a major refurbishing. Room carpet looks and feels dirty. Bathroom needs reno. Breakfast is great but most are greasy so needs some healthier leaner options. The best part is the staff and service. Before when I stayed here, the low price made it good value. But it’s now more expensive and there may be other options if better value.

Sydney Central Hotel turned out to be a surprisingly lovely stay. I have to admit, after reading some reviews I was a little nervous, but we were fortunate enough to receive an upgrade to a larger room, which was a great start. The room was clean, and parts—especially the bathroom—looked recently renovated.

It would’ve been nice to have wine glasses in the room, and as it was our anniversary (which the hotel was aware of), a small acknowledgment would have been appreciated, though it seems that may have slipped their mind.

The main downside was that our room was located right outside the pool area, which did get noisy at times. We had a balcony, but we couldn’t really use it as people at the pool could look straight in. Aside from that, everything else was generally positive.

We did use the pool once, it’s lovely and warm but it can get crowded due to its small size.

Overall, a pleasant stay with just a few minor drawbacks. We will definitely return again.

We really enjoyed our stay, the beds were super comfortable, the staff were wonderful, and the room service and breakfast options were delicious. There was only 1 thing that I would complain about - We tried to order from the \"Sleepwalker\" late night room service menu, which is stated to be available from 10pm to 6am, but it didnt seem to be available at all, which was dissapointing when we returned hungry from our night out at 2am. Otherwise everything was great and we will definitely stay here again !

On this occasion food from a previous guest was left in the fridge and there were no bags in the bins in the room. This was mentioned at checkout in which the desk staff apologised. Cleaning staff did appear to be hanging out talking in corridors rather than working on more occasion. I've stayed here many times in the past however this time was a bit average especially considering how expensive room prices are now.

Room and service were good, except for giving me two double beds (I travelled alone), in stead of a bigger bed. Upon checking out, the staff first could not find parking was included in my booking. It took him awhile to finally verify in the system that my parking was already paid for. Otherwise he would insist to charge me again for parking.
Perhaps the hotel computer system should be more user friendly to avoid the troublesome experience.

Staff was very helpful and accommodating, the hotel is in an excellent location close to public transport and within walking distance to areas of interest such as Darling Harbour and a couple of train stops away from Curcular Quay etc. The room was clean with very comfortable beds. We even got a complimentary cheese platter and a bottle of wine.

We've stayed at this location many times before, however this has been the best yet. There were some things that could have made it even better.

Check in was very informative and helpful. Although we've stayed here previously, I was unaware that the hotel had a guest laundry. Maybe it's new? We didn't need to use it, but that is very helpful for our future visits.

The hotel offered a complimentary breakfast in the restaurant in the lobby. This was excellent and had not been available on previous visits. There was a lot of food to choose from, and plenty of vegetarian options. There was even a gluten free station, and alternate milks available for cereals. There's a pancake machine (!). Everything was well-presented, staff were lovely, and the food was great.

This hotel is in a convenient location in Sydney for us on our visits, and is next to/part of a parking structure with reasonable pricing, which is one of the reasons we chose it.

Check out is easy. There is a key drop box near the elevator.

Two things that could have improved our stay: the lamps on the bedhead are not well placed. Have hit our heads on them multiple times, and it is not possible to sit up in bed. Also, a fire alarm went off on one night of our visit. I appreciate that this is a good thing for safety, but I would have liked to have had an announcement that confirmed all clear afterwards. Instead it just ended, and we couldn't relax/didn't know if it was over/safe.
