The rooms are nice but a little dated/worn and not the best views depending on where you’re at. Gym was a tad leaky but nice equipment.

The lobby and restaurant are lovely (really great food).

The real shocker was the staff and customer service. I had to leave a day early and it was comically terrible level of incompetence for something that shouldn’t be so complicated. I was honestly shocked. By no means could i stay here again in that alone.

Nice room, nice lobby, good location for walking the city. Staff was very inexperienced though and couldn’t answer many questions we asked such as “ where is the cruise ship terminal”? Poor restaurant recommendations, poor breakfast oatmeal. You need a concierge to help tourists because your front desk can’t do it.

Best dog friendly hotel in Sydney! The foyer is beautiful, the staff friendly, the room was lovely and clean and spacious, they have treats for pups and a dog bed and bowls, and great room service, and the bed was super comfy… will not be staying any place else when I go to Sydney!

An absolutely incredible hotel in the heart of Sydney’s CBD. Well connected to all the city has to offer. Beautifully decorated with stunning clean rooms. The highlight for me was the staff- they were all amazing. Housekeeping, the bars, reception etc. all incredibly helpful. Cannot sing their praises enough.

The hotel was a beautifully restored Art Deco public building, and now has a respectful nod to both the past but also the future, for functionality. High ceilings throughout, spacious corridors that continue into the rooms. Wonderful staff and excellent service and food available at the restaurant too!

My experience at The Kimpton Margot Hotel was exceptional and thoroughly satisfying.
From the moment I arrived until I checked out, I was treated like royalty. The gentleman (Matt?) at the Welcome Desk gave me lots of helpful tips and information that made my Sydney stay enjoyable.
The staff was superb, attentive, professional and welcoming. My room was quite large with a very comfortable bed and outstanding amenities.
My first night, they had a guest welcome meet up for drinks and hors d'oeuvres. The location is central to every important sightseeing place and an easy walk to shopping, dining, and even the Opera House.
I had an excellent time at the Kimpton and would recommend it to everyone. The staff/hotel service offered me a standout experience.

Great location in the city, walking distance to plenty of attraction. Otherwise just next door to the light rail and metro station, perfect for getting around.

Nice touch with social hour for free drinks and hang out with other guest.

We stayed the night with our pup - Water bowl and a bed provided. Hyde park just round the corner for his toilet break.

Despite being a pet friendly hotel, rooms and common areas were clean and very pleasant.

Only area of improvement was communication with front desk - We had arranged for a late check out at check in (also a benefit for being an IHG member) and all was sorted. Came check out day, had an abrupt call from front desk reminding us it was past the standard check out time and asking when we will be leaving. I mentioned we had requested for late check out and thought all was sorted out earlier. She cut me off and reminded me that it was subjected to availability and offered to “see what they can do.”

Eventually was told it was all good with the late check out (even though this has already been arranged at check in). Came later in the day, we had to decided to do 2 trips to the carpark (not on site) - First to move our belongings and after to come back for our pup as we couldn’t manage it all at once and there was nowhere you could park your car to load/unload your luggage.

After dropping our bags off, we came back to our room with apparently a staff inside who said he

The Kimpton Margot exceeded our expectations. From check in to check out the experience was wonderful. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating allowing us to check in early without us asking! The rooms are huge and the amenities are well appointed. Bathrooms are extra spacious with separate tub and shower. The vanity is a woman’s dream, long and well lit. The bedroom is so roomy with space for a couch to relax . The hotel is located in a good area, walking distance to many points of interests including parks, shopping, the QVB, and the train station.

RIP off early check in charge.

I emailed the hotel in advance of our visit requesting an early check in and the response was that they would do their best but couldn’t guarantee it and if I wanted to be guaranteed I should book the previous night stay, I chose not to do this. On arrival at the hotel they had no record of my request and said check in was in the afternoon but I could pay $100 for early check in, which I reluctantly did. I think it’s disgraceful that the room is ready and vacant and I was charged $100 for early access. This charge was not made clear in my communications with the hotel in advance of our stay.
