Great Hotel. A little quiet and conservative but the rooms are beautiful and comfortable. Great views. Right by Tokyo Train Station which has lots of restaurants and shops and convenient transportation and walking distance to Ginza Crossing, Ginza Station and Tokyo Plaza. I love it.

We booked this for the final leg of our trip through Japan. The hotel is nice. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Housekeeping was excellent. The staff is polite but a few things kept it from being a 5 star experience for us: a few times we tried calling reception for assistance and no one answered, the bar was closed when we tried to get a drink after dinner though it was not yet 11pm, then the next time we tried to get into the lounge, we were told it would be an hour wait but saw empty seats at the bar that entire time. The on-site restaurant is hideously overpriced. It’s Tokyo, you can get amazing meals at every price point so the Nadaman restaurant is not recommended in terms of quality to price ratio.

This is such a convenient hotel to stay at since it is right next to Tokyo Station. You are able to take a train straight to Narita Airport. The hotel is a bit pricy but because it’s a fancy hotel with great staff who go out of their way. The rooms themselves are also great and the view on either side is also wonderful. If you are on the garden view side, the only negative thing I can think of is that you will hear the train but it’s nothing you can’t ignore since it’s not too loud. I haven’t tried their food but I can imagine it is great as well. I will have to try next time

It's a beautiful hotel conveniently located next to Tokyo Station. Staff was attentive and friendly and cleanliness and service was top notch.

Things that were not the greatest - charged a 2000 yen cover charge each for me and my husband (our two kids were not charged) for the live music in the Lobby Lounge even though the music didn't start until one hour after our dinner - which is right when we were leaving/ wrapping up. We paid extra for the Horizons Lounge - and while lovely and great service, the price did not commensurate with what was provided. When we reserved our room it stated that it slept four (we had stated that we had two adults, two kids) but when we arrived they only had one king - no \"day bed\" as listed and said that they were short of extra beds. After a little shuffling the moved us to a room with two beds but still tight...

Second time staying with Shangri La Tokyo, room felt like a downgrade from our recent stay at Ascott Marunouchi Tokyo (2-bedroom executive suite). However, in comparison, the service at Shangri-La Tokyo staff was way better offering amenities for children, both hotels were able to provide 2PM late check out upon request during Cherry blossom season. Stand out feature was breakfast experience at Piacere - the Hayama Egg Benedict Original Recipe 1894 was perfection!! Wait Staff Thu Thu was truly memorable and elevated our experience. Check out was quick and the only faux pas was luggage was not sent down to our taxi within time, despite pre-booking.

Well Appointed Hotel in a Great Location

Shangri-la Tokyo Hotel is very comfortable, well appointed, high service level hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay during our trip as we feel very welcome. The location being just above Tokyo Station is an added attribute. We are able to take day trips to prefectures outside of Tokyo via the Shinkansen and get back to rest in a comfortable hotel. It’s a great feeling to have that as an option.

Shangri-La Tokyo is conveniently located next to Tokyo Station and was a great place to begin and end our trip to Japan. The views from the rooms were spectacular especially at night. The staff was wonderful and they made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. And the breakfast at the hotel restaurant was delicious especially the strawberry waffles and ricotta pancakes. We appreciated that the staff spoke English as we only spoke a little Japanese. We really enjoyed staying at this hotel.

Overall this was a wonderful stay- the rooms are well appointed and luxurious and the spa was a highlight. I found the staff here less friendly than the staff at the Ritz Carlton Tokyo which to me sets the bar for hospitality in Tokyo. The location is convenient but not beautiful.

My daughter (15) and I loved this hotel. The location was incredibly convenient, and the staff was phenomenal. They helped us arrange a lovely harbor cruise and dinner with another family we met with teens at the very last minute. The hotel starts on the 28th floor of the building, so the views of the city from the guest rooms and the breakfast/cocktail lounge are sensational. The neighborhood is also wonderful for morning walks/running. We will definitely stay there again the next time we are in Tokyo.

This was our first visit to Japan and we have traveled extensively in the past ten years. Friends recommended Shangri-La so we stayed overnight when we landed in Japan before heading to Kyoto and Hiroshima. We checked back into Shangri-La at the end of our trip for three more nights in Tokyo before flying back to the US. The positives about this hotel are too numerous to mention. The service provided by every member of the staff is impeccable…truly next level. The hotel facilities are beautiful and perfectly maintained. As newcomers to Japan, we hadn’t known in advance how much we’d rely on the bullet trains to move around the country and Shangri-La is right next door to Tokyo Station (the hotel lobby is on the 28th floor so it’s high above the bustle of the street and the trains…and the views are wonderful!) so it’s location is excellent! The concierge is incredibly helpful in planning dinners and guided tours and the hotel restaurants are excellent if you want to dine in. Shangri-La is a six star hotel on every dimension. We’ll be back!!

Overall the property is beautiful and impeccable, which one would expect from Shangri-La. I had been trained/treated by other Shangri-La hotels with small daily touches such as chocolates, notes, etc.. There were no such daily gifts at this Tokyo hotel which seemed like a small miss. That said on the negative side, the cleaning staff bent a new USB cable that was left plugged into the outlet and we were not notified. Fortunately we were able to straightened and it still worked.

Check in was ok, but both restaurants were closed and i was not told nor offered any compensation to make up for it. Room service food was really poor.
Internet and airplay was really glitchy. Spa was lovely and frankly the best part of the stay.

From the moment I stepped into the hotel the staff were going out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. The hotel was flawless. I cannot report a weakness. From the minute we arrived at this hotel, I was impressed by the staff, the cleanliness of the room and the overall location. I highly recommend this hotel if you want to be within walking distance to Tokyo Station, Marunouchi, Ginza and Nihonbashi. I'm a huge shopper so having Daimaru, Mitsukoshi and Takashimaya all within walking distance was amazing.

A great name bring a great disappointment

A great name come with great expectation also a great disappointment.
To compare with the same category hotel as four seasons, peninsula and mandarin, I have to say, hotel shangrila may be not the worst but definitely not the best.
Room is least spacious, amenities is not really a great experience, decoration is dated and carpet looks dirty n old.
A very expensive breakfast provided less variety compared to those other three, even the simplest coffee n tea is equivalent to those provided by 3 stars hotel.
The only good things are it is very close to the steel building where a lot of bus terminated n not too far away to the shinkansen station if you know how to find the way, hotel staff is so kind to accompany us to the station, it really helps n match with the brilliant traditions of shangrila hotel.

Superb introduction to Tokyo

We happened to book in the Horizon Club wing of the hotel and were overwhelmed by the helpfulness and consideration given to our wellbeing. The staff not only there but generally in the hote were excellent and not was to much trouble always with a smile. Excellent food in the restaurants and very well located for local sightseeing and shopping in Ginza Six. Highly recommended to stay here.
