Courtyard by Marriott Tokyo Station is located within a 5 minute walk to Tokyo Station (shinkansen) and a 2 minute walk to Kiyobashi Station (local subway). The hotel is very clean and larger than it looks. The lobby area is quite nice, and I wish I took advantage of it a lot more as there is a nice mini-cafe/reading room set up. This is by no means a large property, but it's location is central. For those who demand a little more comfort than the standard business hotel, Courtyard by Marriott fits the bill quite nicely. For a small fee, they helped me ship my large extra luggage to the next hotel when I returned to Tokyo from my three week trip. Highly appreciated their help. Take advantage of the bath salts they provide!

Near tokyo station, hotel is small but nice

So the location is a little bit further from tokyo station than i thought, but it is located right next to the subway so that is a plus. Also the hotel is the first 4 stories of the entire building so don't expect the best views. We picked this location mainly because it is central to the shinkansen and also the east side of tokyo, something less chaotic than the west side. Close to shopping at akihabara, ginza, and you can take the chuo line to shinjuku, this hotel is convenient. Like most places in tokyo, the room is quite small, but nothing you can do about it as other hotels will be the same. The place was clean, quiet for the most part (although you can hear things in the hallway once in a while), and the staff was nice and amazing. I am sure there are more hotels closer by but if you want a hotel that is known internationally, then this is not a bad place to choose for the price.

Hotel is conveniently located at the end of the Yaesu corridors of Tokyo Station and a block from the Kyobashi Station. Staff was very helpful and most spoke English. Room was clean with space to have luggage available. No drawers for clothing so needed to have luggage accessible. Desk chair was nice, but did not have wheels so working at the desk required moving the chair. Otherwise nice, comfortable hotel.

Location is excellent with many nice restaurants nearby. The room was very comfortable and clean with a cool \"Library\" lobby to work in.

The front staff is all very friendly with free coffee and local recommendations.

You can also walk to the bus station to get to Narita Airport for only ¥1, 000 or talk a train anywhere in the city!

The location was only 5 -7 mins walk from Tokyo station so was great for one night stop.
The room was small but we expected that in Tokyo. What we didn't expect was a dirty carpet in the room. It badly needed steam cleaned or replaced. And one chair in a double room for two seemed to lack thought. Check-in was very smooth and staff were great.

Easy access from Tokyo Station N’EX, and Ginza Subway subway stop across street. Grocery store next to hotel, Family Mart 1 block away, Starbucks 1 block away. Hotel does have laundry service. The bed was wonderful. Room was super clean. Room is like a standard Japanese Business Hotel, not like a Western Hotel sizewise. My only issue with hotel was internet connectivity was not strong enough for Skype Calls, however all other business needs worked fine with thier bandwidth. Overall a great hotel.

And one of the best grocery store there.

This hotel is a 5' or less walk from Tokyo station. There are tons of restaurants and stores within a 5' walk. Next store was a wine and package goods store which was very convenient. Like everything in Europe and Japan, the rooms are a bit small by US standards but that's what u get. It's the only reason I graded a 4 and not 5. The front desk staff are wonderful

Distinctly American in the heart of Japan

It wasn’t what I came to expect from a hotel in Japan. Compared to the previous hotels I’ve stayed in on this trip, those rooms were more pristine. From the dirty bed skirt to the stained walls in room at the courtyard is something I’d come to expect from a room back in my country USA. I heard a guest mention that it felt like he was in a jail. I expect hotel rooms in Japan to be small. However I definitely see his point. There are some bright spots. The bed is comfortable. The customer service is impeccable and for you English speakers who can’t get past the language barrier this is the place for you. And another plus they have a complimentary cell phone to make calls (international & domestic) as well as to use for a map to take with you around Tokyo during your stay.

FYI: Skip the breakfast buffet. It’s not worth the price.

The only good thing about this hotel was that it was close to Tokyo Station which makes it very convenient to caught trains to Osaka and Kyoto. I used this hotel as a transition hotel for one night. For the price, there are better hotels to choose from.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times. It consistently has good service, clean and comfortable rooms, good internet and close proximity to Tokyo Station which is about a 10 minute walk. Buses from Tokyo Station to Narita Airport costs about 1000 Yen (~$10USD). Cash will be required. It takes about 1 hr and is much less expensive than Taxi. Taxi would be approximately $200 USD.

Ultra tiny, Noisy rooms, in need of TLC

First of all this Courtyard is \"sort of\" near Tokyo Station - at least 3 or 4 long blocks - not great if you are dragging suitcases, backpacks, etc. Probably better to hop the subway if you are in the station, go down two stops and stay at one of my favorites - the Dai-Ichi Hotel. If you look at the prices Dai-Ichi is comparable -maybe even less and the rooms are 2 1/2 times as large!
I couldn't believe how absolutely tiny these rooms were. And the walls were paper thin. Our Room #432 was located right inside the sliding door from the lobby and we heard everyone who came in at night and went out in the morning. The second room we had booked for a family member #437
was painted a neon green and had large stains on the carpet - totally uninviting.
This hotel is located on a few floors in an office building and they squeezed as many guest rooms in
the space that they could.
After staying at the Marriott Courtyard Shin-Osaka Station for 3 nights, which was wonderful, I was totally shocked when we checked into this hotel. It could not compare.
Beware! - the value for your money is not at this Marriott Courtyard. Take my advice and if
you don't want to stay at the Tokyo Station Hotel there are plenty of better properties
near by.

I just stayed one night on my way home from a week of meetings in Hiroshima, so that I could get to the airport early the next morning. It was a tiny bit run down. The carpeting could have used an update/replacement. The bed was firm (typical for Japan in my experience), the pillows were nice, room was dark with shades drawn and I got the best night of sleep I'd had in a week.

The restaurant closed at 11 pm and the cafe/coffee shop was not open at 8am on Saturday (the restaurant was but I was in a hurry). There were a lot of shops/amenities very near by, including the train/bus station, which is why I chose this location. The front desk staff was very helpful with advice about the bus/train.

Breakfast buffet was wonderful, great variety! Variety of cuisine as well as specific foods, for example, several fruit juices but my favorite was the cashews, walnuts, raisins and dried cranberries. For the size it was one of the best breakfast buffets I have experienced.
The staff in the restaurant was fantastic always smiling and always trying to help!

A modern hotel with excellent service

It is a contemporary hotel with excellent services. The designs of the guest room, lobby and restaurant are simplistic and modern. It gives you a relaxing and comfortable feel. The guest room is very comfortable. It is large enough to open a large suitcase with ease. The bed is large with a suitable softness. The bathroom is reasonably large in size, making it comfortable to have a bath or to put on your makeup. I particularly like the desk which is large enough for you to have a meal or to work on your visit plans. Iron and ironing platform are equipped which is absolutely brilliant for guests who like to put on well ironed clothes everyday. The restaurant is more of western style rather than a Japanese one despite simple Japanese breakfast set is provided. However, the variety of the foods provided in the breakfast session is not large. Lastly, it is located in a convenient location and is within 10 minutes walk from the Tokyo station, a giant traffic hub in Japan where you can connect to other cities very easily. Also there are plenty of shopping malls, café and attractions nearby. You can definitely save a lot of time during your visit in Tokyo.

Small rooms but Perfect location

If you're arriving in Tokyo Station via train, use the Shinkansen exit right by the main entrance/exit. Cross the street where the Yaesu Bookstore building is and walk into that narrow alley. You'll pass a Starbucks cafe on your left side and you'll see a tall black building shortly. The hotel itself is a little hard to find since it's part of a giant, black office building and it's not clearly marked on the outside. Once inside, take the elevators to the 4th floor where the lobby is. Like most Tokyo hotels, the rooms were very small. No suitcase space and tiny closet. But perfect location just 2 short blocks from Tokyo Station where all the local & shinkansen/bullet trains are. My package included a breakfast buffet served at the downstairs Lava Rock cafe - great Western & Japanese assortment of hot foods & continental breakfast. They even give you tiny to-go bags for your breakfast pastries! Excellent service from front desk. Complimentary tea/coffee is served 24/7 in the lobby there are jars of snacks/candy in the evening (also in the lobby) and your room has 2 complimentary water bottles. You are also given a soft, long nightshirt to wear in lieu of standard hotel bathrobes - very comfortable to sleep in! If it's raining, ask the lobby to give you complimentary umbrellas to use during your stay. Front desk can give you directions anywhere.Overall just based on the location & excellent breakfast buffet and service, I will return to this hotel the next time I'm in Tokyo!

Great hotel in its class for downtown Tokyo

We recently stayed on two separate one-night occasions in this Marriott Courtyard hotel near the Tokyo Station. Location is perfect for train station access. Hotel fits the Courtyard genre -- no luxury but everything works well, is clean, and is as advertised. Perhaps most important, staff was extremely helpful and went out of the way to meet any request. I would highly recommend this hotel. Tokyo is a wonderful city -- if only buildings and locations had easily managed street addresses.....

The hotel is right next to Kyobashi subway station exit 7. Five to 10 minutes walk to Tokyo station, where you also find the buses to Haneda and Narita (1000 yen and no train changes!).
Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms very clean. The \"Classic\" is quite small. Bathrooms very small, but efficient and with the bidet washlets. The lighting in the bathroom is not good for makeup and shaving. Very quiet. Beds firm, but not hard.
We took room with breakfast, which is served in the restaurant on the street level. Nice buffet with diverse cuisine offerings. It was very much worth it.
Would go there again.

Some people have said, in reviews of this hotel, that the rooms are small. I think it's important to remember that this is Japan. For me, the room was delightfully compact. I had absolutely everything I needed. I think the rooms would only be 'small' if you happened to be enormous, or if you really valued spending time in your hotel room swinging cats around.

The staff are beyond lovely at this hotel, and there is a very nice library lobby where you can have a cup of tea or coffee whenever you like. The breakfast lobby downstairs is more on the Western side than the Japanese. It has plenty of options including waffles, pancakes, omelettes and eggs.

The location of the hotel is great. I would definitely come back, and recommend to others.

Good choice for central Tokyo

Small but intelligently designed room. Very convenient to subway (Kyobashi station on the Ginza line one short block away) and two blocks to Tokyo Station. Wide range of restaurants in the neighborhood.

Convenient hotel with excellent service

Very convenient short walk from Tokyo station - very near Ginza and 20 min walk from Fish market. Rooms on small side - but not unusual for Tokyo. Outstanding breakfast. Everyone very pleasant and helpful.

Very well located clean comfortable stay.
Staff at front desk provide 24 hour free coffee tea fruit soft drinks which can be enjoyed in the elegant library bar area.
4 minutes to Tokyo station on foot.
Would recommend staying here

Nice hotel.

A very nice hotel. A small room, but very clean and comfortable. Nicely appointed with all the amenities you expect. It is about a ten minute walk to Tokyo Station and from there a train will take you just about anywhere in Japan. All the staff spoke good English.

Great stay!

The rooms were of decent size considering the fact the Tokyo hotels are usually extremely small in size. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, and service staff were friendly and speaks relatively good english. The only thing is the walk from station to hotel is abit quiet especially when returning late at night.
