In all honesty, if we're just talking about the rooms, Koko Hotel in Ginza 1-chome is maybe just a little above average. Like most Tokyo hotels, the rooms are small. Of note, both the double and standard twin rooms have the same area but the double bed leaves a smaller footprint so I recommend sticking with that instead to make room for your luggage. The lobby has all the amenities, a water and ice dispenser, and the front desk also lends other things. However, what made the difference was the service and hospitality.

My family's stay was unfortunately cut short due to an accident. The concierge was quick to call an ambulance and assisted us the entire time in interpreting between us and the paramedics. When I informed the hotel of the need to cut our stay short to return home so my mother could get surgery ASAP, they agreed to refund the costs for the rest of our stay and made the entire process easy. They also left a note on both rooms to come by the front desk to get a refund for the accommodation tax that we had paid as well.

A special mention needs to be said to Mr. Yonjan, who helped with all the translation during that night, and to Ms. O, who graciously helped us with refunds. Thank you for making what was a stressful situation at least a little bit easier on us. It was very much appreciated.

I had a great stay and would absolutely recommend it for anyone visiting Tokyo.

The location is excellent—situated in the Ginza area, it’s within walking distance to multiple subway lines, making it incredibly convenient to get around the city.

Check-in was smooth and efficient, and the staff were polite and professional.

The room itself was compact, but very clean, modern, and well-maintained. Everything felt thoughtfully designed to maximize space, and it never felt cluttered. The bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet at night, which made it easy to rest after long days of exploring.

The bathroom was spotless and in excellent condition, with strong water pressure and good amenities provided. Housekeeping did a great job maintaining cleanliness throughout the stay.

Overall, this hotel offers great value for its location and quality. It’s a reliable, comfortable option in Ginza, especially if you’re looking for a clean and convenient place to stay. I would definitely return on my next trip to Tokyo.

Convenient location to everything you need when visiting Ginza - walkable to the train station, close to the main drag, convenient store diagonally across, rooms were like a box which is standard in Japan so no point making a deal out of it but it was clean - and that’s what all you need. I like the location so much I’d be coming back.

I'm not prone to leaving bad reviews. This is definitely an exception. When I booked the room it was the most expensive room on Expedia for this hotel and it was titled premium floor. I went to my room shocked at the tiny size so I went back to the desk and asked if there were any upgrades I could buy. I was told there was not for weeks to come. The window in this room is probably 3x3 and they have a film over 80% of it so you couldn't even see out. It felt like a dungeon and extremely claustrophobic. The following morning I noticed most other rooms had a full window that actually opened. I went to the desk and they again told me that there were no rooms available to move to and I was told no one would be leaving in the next couple days. I then saw one room bring their bags out and asked them if they were checking out and they said yes. I went to the desk and was told someone else that was booking for 13 days straight was moving into that room and they refused to move me. As the hours unfolded I watched roughly 15 rooms empty out, all of which had a full window and no film. My experience was by far the worst customer service I have ever received from the hotel. They simply did not care. The premium floor had a pancake machine, water, and coffee. I could care less about any of those things I just wanted a room where I felt comfortable. Not happening here. I hope you don't book your vacation here and experience what I did.

Bathroom was a sufficient size for us and had a clothes line that you could use in the bath which was helpful for drying laundry. Liked that the bathroom light and room light had a dimmer on it. Good location about a 10-15 minute walk from Tokyo Station. Staff were nice. Would stay here again.

The location of this hotel is great, however I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again as the rooms are tiny and very expensive for the price.
The laundry had two washer dryers and I didn’t see an ironing board, there’s no way one would fit in the room. I booked a standard twin room and it was a shoebox. Nowhere to put anything. You cannot walk around the beds. I don’t recommend this hotel in Ginza, and would advise anyone to find one with larger rooms for this price. The rooms are so small that all guests spend their time in the lounge on the ground floor which means it is always crowded and there’s no where to retreat to.

5 stars for the location of the hotel.
Ginza station is at 9 min walk, Kiobayashi station is at 6 min and Tokyo station at 10 min walk. A 7 11 is a few steps away and the luxury brands and Loft and Uniqlo stores are at 8 min walking. A lot of restaurants nearby, including a Sumo show. Installations and amenities is a 3 to 4 stars, the room is tiny for double room standard so I will suggest to go to a bigger room option for this hotel. The area is quiet and super safe!

Overall it was ok. The staff upfront was a bit tense. I asked politely for a towel and that was a bit of an issue for some reason. They clean only 3 days which is fine. You have to notify them if you would like your room clean. The \"Breakfast\" was just a pancake machine, a few snacks and some drinks, nothing special. It was free, cant complain. The space was small. The bed was not to comfy. overall for how much i payed i was expecting more. I understand its sakura season but even then other hotels were not as expensive as this one. Just got it because it was the closest to tokyo station and it was my first time coming to Japan. But now cant really recommend here. Unless they have a deal going on probably wont be booking.

For our first stay in Tokyo, the Koko Hotel Ginza was a great start. The location was central to lots of shopping and public (or private) transit to everywhere is so easy. We were on the 12th premium floor so snacks, juice, coffee, tea, and even pancakes were readily available. The room was quite spacious and had everything we needed except for a microwave - that's something we wish the 12th floor lounge had instead of a second coffee machine. There was a technical hiccup with the bathroom but the staff responded quickly. The staff are also a highlight: universally friendly and helpful. Thanks for a great introduction to Tokyo!

We had an amazing stay at Hotel Koko Ginza and would happily come back. The location is perfect—right in the middle of Ginza, close to shops, restaurants, and public transport, which made getting around super easy.

The room was clean, modern, and really well laid out. The bed was super comfortable, and everything felt fresh and well cared for. It was a great place to be based after a busy day exploring Tokyo.

The staff were lovely—friendly, helpful, and always happy to assist with anything we needed. Check‑in was easy, and the overall vibe of the hotel was calm and welcoming.

Check in was so chaotic, they had so many trainees at reception. They failed to understand we booked a room under 2 diff names and we wanted to combine the bookings.
