Parking definitely gets packed after about 7pm. We had to park in the denny’s parking lot. Don’t recommend leaving after 7pm. Rooms were cleaned and nice. The bed frames were the only thing we’d say were off. The floating look was nice but maybe a more sturdy frame. Overall would stay again especially for the price !

The shower head wouldn’t move and pointed straight to the back wall. And the shower and sink were slow draining. Besides that the room was clean, bed and pillows were comfy. Property was really quiet and the staff was friendly.

Parking was safe and easy except for the 4 bone jarring speed bumps. Tv was 24”!!! Hard to hear and see! Neighbors were so noisy! Blackout curtains worked except the blinding halo around the outside of the curtains. I had to fix the TV remote. The lead was not touching the battery. Numbers and letters worn off of remote. Bathroom fan was noisy. Lights were all excessively bright and were the white LED. Not the warm white they should be. When I looked at map for hotel location near the aquarium, it said 20 minutes. That 20 minutes turned into 45 minutes during bumper to bumper stop and go traffic on the “freeway”.

We stayed at this motel knowing the price point, and it met our expectations. If you’re just looking for a clean, quiet place to lay your head, this is a great option. The room was clean, the staff was friendly, and the area felt safe and peaceful.

That said, it’s definitely a no-frills stay. There was no housekeeping during our visit, no blow dryer, only small bottles of shampoo and conditioner, and no tissues in the room.

I would absolutely stay here again for what it is—a simple, budget-friendly place to sleep. But fair warning… I’ve been accused of being cheap 😄

We've stayed at Motel 6 in Marina a few times. We like that it's close to casual dining, beaches, and shopping.

The motel is a bit dated, but our room was clean and comfortable. I would suggest adding more rooms with enough seating for two people, and more rooms with refrigerators, freezers, and microwaves.

On the plus side, the staff was professional and polite, parking was just outside of my door and well lit, and the area was relatively quiet. It is safe.

Unfortunately the room conditions weren't great. Saggy mattress, not particularly clean, and the shower didn't get hot.

Room was ok, but the sink kept getting plugged and they put us in a room near the ice, laundry, and vending machines. We really could not get any good sleep because of the constant noise. Overall it was ok.

A dumpster dive is the best way to describe our room. The bathroom was so bad! The tub looked like an experiment was done in it and was disgusting! Put some money into it-at least bring it into current mediocre conditions instead of the hells of doom!

This is a very low budget room . The rooms had black mold in the showers, window seals are full of mold. I thought it would be nicer by the pictures but it was not as nice as they make it seem . I also could hear the upstairs persons every step . So don’t plan on resting well.

We tried to update our stay from 2 nights to 1 night a day fully before our 2nd night was to start, and were denied. Long story short, even when we gave plenty of notice to update our stay, we were still charged for an extra night (>$100).

Story: I approached the night shift front desk staff around 8pm. He told me to come back in the morning before checkout to do the request. The next morning I went to the front desk around 10am (check out is 11am). That front desk staff told me to update through Expedia. I then contacted Expedia who told me they needed to update through the front desk staff (coming full circle in a loop). Expedia said they would call the front to work through it. When Expedia called, per Expedia, the front desk said that Expedia needs to call back because the front desk was busy. I then physically went back to the front desk and waited for no other guests to be occupying their attention. Once I was the only one, I told Expedia to call. The front desk attendant then said they had to wait for their manager to come in at 11:30am to handle the situation. We relayed the message & I left because Expedia said they would call them back to resolve the issue. I had to leave the property at this point. The next day I got this email from Expedia \"We're understand that your money is important to you. However, after multiple attempts to contact the property on your behalf, we were unable to obtain approval for a waiver. Based on this, the original policy will apply.\"

Everything was good. The only issue was that late at night the noise from other guests was disturbing, as they were talking loudly without respecting the sleeping hours. Overall, considering the price we paid, our stay was good. The hotel was clean and the staff were very polite. 😊

The room...No hot water, Mattress collapsed on one side, & the Heater/AC Fan malfunctioned and was making loud grinding noise (had to shut it down). Not ideal with morning outside temps in the mid 30's.
Checking out I mentioned the deficiencies and received no remedy (like at least a partial refund or even a sorry).
I Do NOT recommend staying here.

1/Shampoos should be provided; guests do not wash hair with soap. 2/ I travel for the government and need CA tax exemption. I was told Expedia should provide it; I need an invoice and was told Expedia should provide it; There is a discrepancy in pricing with my reservation and I was told I should ask Expedia.

We weren’t able to check in on time because they said the room wasn’t ready. And then when we got there, it was also leaking pipes in the bathroom dripping water throughout the whole bathroom. And loud noise above us the entire weekend. I’m pretty sure this is unacceptable

Clean and modern rooms- no carpeting, wood laminate floors- which I like. Right off the freeway, and quiet location…safe… but not walkable to anything, you’ll need a car. Denny’s is next door. Unfortunately no microwave or mini fridge in the rooms. Overall though, GREAT value for the money.

A lot of people write reviews for a motel 6 as if they were staying at a Ritz Carlton. I was pleasantly surprised by this property. It was clean, beds were very comfortable and not noisy, although we were in the block of rooms by the garden. We had a microwave and refrigerator plus a small coffee maker and coffee in the room which I didn’t expect. Check in staff was friendly and of course we could bring our dog without the ridiculous fees most places charge. It was only a short drive to Monterey and the aquarium but saved hundreds of dollars compared to lodging there.

There are a LOT of restaurants very close by on reservation road. I recommend the Hawaiin bbq plate for a ton of good food. The Dennys was fine for breakfast and right there.

We would stay here again

Apparently now Motel 6 doesn’t have microwaves, refrigerators, or hair dryers in many or most rooms (at least at this property). There wasn't a list of in room amenities in the online listing, but I’ve never stayed in a hotel without these basic items. When we asked the front desk they said the rooms with those items cost $20 more per night, but they were all booked. There was no microwave on the property all all that a guest could use. In a photo in the listing there was a microwave in the laundry room, but we were told that even the employees didn’t have a microwave. One of the washing machine was broken, leaving only one to use. The property was clean, and the bed comfortable. However, when we spilled water and “mopped” it up with a hand towel, the floor was FILTHY. It was absolutely not mopped before we came. There was also a big hairball attached to the chair leg. Although it’s conveniently located (and pets stay free), we won’t stay at another Motel 6 again.

We booked this as a last minute trip option and was very happy with it. The room was nice, clean enough, but we would have liked a maid service during the day with the sand from the beach on the floor, or a broom in the room. For the price and last minute trip we were happy. Plus the Dennys in the parking lot was a major plus for my family!
