Had to go to Walmart to buy my own towels, the hotel towels were badly stained and I could not risk putting my face on it. This made me hesitant using the rest of the amenities. Friendly staff. Beach is right there.

Dirty sheets and towels with visible marks/stains. The room looks outdated. The staff at check in and the lady at the breakfast area was super friendly and nice. The only gripe was that the office staff didn’t let us know the water was shut off when we arrived. That meant the toilet wouldn’t flush and you couldn’t wash your hands or shower. Overall it was a cheap place to stay, but sometimes you get what you pay for.

I understand that work is being done in some areas of the motel, but it was pretty messy in the parking area and on the walkways.
No shower body wash was provided. I called the front desk to ask that it be provided. Fresh towels were provided but no body wash or bath soap.
I placed a privacy sign on the door because I had an important medical meeting in the morning at 9am. Around 9:35 the door was knocked on by housekeeping and this disrupted my medical appointment, well before the checkout time.

We’ve stayed at several Best Western locations in different cities, and this property meets the usual standards in terms of room size, breakfast, and overall hardware. The location is convenient, and the basic amenities are fine.
However, the front desk service was extremely disappointing. They were not understaffed—there were always two young employees present, but they spent most of their time chatting and using their phones. We stayed for two nights, and the TV in our room didn’t work from the moment we checked in.
I called the front desk, but no one answered. When I went down in person, the receptionist simply wrote down a note and said someone would come to fix it. No one ever showed up. The second day, I reported it again, and again nothing happened. By the third time, I was very frustrated. The staff member finally told me to “just try switching the input source to HDMI” as if that were the standard solution. At that point, it was clear they had no intention of helping.
The lack of responsiveness and professionalism at the front desk overshadowed what could have been a decent stay. I hope management takes this seriously, because the service here does not match the Best Western experience we’ve had elsewhere.

We were told at check in that they were completely double booked. The gentleman at Best Western booked a room for us at the sister hotel next door, Country Inn & Suites, for the inconvenience and the young lady who checked us in was helpful. But as soon as we opened the door, it smelled of mildew and rust. Dust was everywhere, the AC unit had leftover cereal in the vent, the shower head was rusted, there was mold in the bathroom, the beds felt as if they were broken and were extremely dusty, and the cabinet in the room had rolled up blankets and pillows as if they were used previously. My mom called and asked the front desk if we could get another room. They switched us rooms and the 2nd room we got was just as bad. The only redeeming quality was no smell as soon as we opened the door. Upon going in though, there was something sticky on the desk, the outlets next to the bed didn’t have electricity, the floor in the bathroom and in the room was dusty and dirty as if it hadn’t been swept in weeks, the towels smelled used like they’ve been used over and over without washing, there was more mold and rust in the bathroom, the water wouldn’t go down the drain in the shower, and again the floor and walls in the bathroom were really dirty. While we’re grateful for being able to get a room after a hotels.com hiccup, the conditions of both rooms were unacceptable. We cancelled the reservation and booked another hotel. Again this is not about Best Western, this is about the Country Inn

I had a great stay at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and nicely updated. The staff was friendly and helpful during my entire visit.
We had some trouble with the tv tho. I do not know if was only remote or the actual TV. It was hard to change channels.

Found black mold along the wall of the tub bed frames were stained talk to the front desk about my concerns and he was gonna work something out for inconvenience just to find out later on that they were gonna honor what the man told us just not very much on same page with there employees and the tub every time showered would fill up half way with water stuck not draining and mold along the bath tub will never stay here again very misleading and don’t seem to care what we have to say only pro was the location right by the beach

Room security lock was broken, walls were dirty, TV had no signal, and the room floor was not clean. I stayed two nights. There was no sign to say do not disturb because I really didn’t want anyone entering my room. Room was entered (no big deal). The towels were replaced but the bed was not made or cleaned. Just thought this was weird. Price was great.

I liked the location of this hotel because I could walk to the beach, but I didn't have any hot water in my room. I tried different times of the day, but I couldn't get a warm shower. I spoke to someone at the front desk the next morning because I still had one more night, and she said I couldn't switch rooms. When I checked out they said they would contact the manager, but I never heard back. I also messaged the property through Expedia, but I never heard back. I wouldn't stay at this property again based on the lack of response. I would choose a nearby motel.

Room was acceptably clean. AC was very noisy with obnoxious fan noise. TV was non functional. Parking was mildly inconvenient. Local beach access with a 15 min walk due to beach entry closure. Safe and quiet area. Room was motel 6 quality with below average cleanliness and upkeep. I would have been disappointed if I paid $100, but this overnight was $250.

This was THE worst hotel stay we’ve ever had. We were locked out of our room for hours. They gave us 5 different keys. Finally they came after not believing us that the keys wouldn't work. Turns out the battery for the key fobs on the door was dead. They said they'd re key it and it would take a few hours (a few hours turned into half a day) so we had no access to our room. Well, then the next day the air conditioner doesnt work. They finally switched us rooms. The hair dryer doesnt work and the shower is clogged. The manager wasnt in at 8:30 in the morning even though we were told he comes in at 7. When we asked for a refund he said he would give us a discount next time we came to town. This is unacceptable!

Batteries for the key card reader on our door had to be replaced at check in with us standing outside for 20 minutes waiting. Then the key cards had to be reprogrammed multiple times even though I kept them separated from anything that could deactivate them.
Door had such a large gap between it and the frame that light from outside shown through. It was large enough of a gap for bugs to easily get into the room.
Our shower was not very clean and towel was either stained or they folded up a dirty towel to be used again.
Won’t stay again.

We stayed in four different Best Westerns in Central California during this trip. This Best West Western did not meet our expectations. It was loud, not clean, and the staff was not as accommodating as the other BW hotels. Due to seeing all that we wanted to see in Monterey and Carmel, we decided to checkout after our first night. We reserved and paid in advance for two rooms, however, the Manager would not work with us on a refund for the second night even though we checked out at 8:00 a.m. which was before the actual checkout time a day before we had planned to checkout.

The pros: The beds were super comfortable, and the amenities is very good. Lots of outlets for me to plug-in and charge my phone. TV looked brand new and worked great. There was a microwave and a fridge as well.Parking was also terrific. The staff was very friendly, which was a huge Plus.

The cons: the floor in our room was actually pretty dirty and into the bathroom as well.

Overall, I’d stay there again. Another plus was they are right by the beach.

We've stayed here multiple times, and it is always a pleasant experience. The staff is so helpful and friendly, the facility itself is always very clean, the complimentary breakfasts are amazing, and the rooms are always so clean and fresh with an included AC unit. Best Westerns are always our first choice and they are usually a very affordable option as well. Also, this one is very close to the beach, only a short walk away!

We appreciated that the rooms were newly renovated and we enjoyed the breakfast. It was also nice to sit out by the fire in the courtyard in the evening. Our biggest complaint was the cleanliness of the bathroom. You can smell mold as you approach the bathroom and the corners were moldy. We had family staying in a different room and this was not unique to our room, as theirs had the same issue. We also found some items like a package flossers left among the towels from previous guests. Staff was very friendly and it is nice to only be a short walk from the beach.

Very large television in the room which was great for watching movies, plus the television offered access for external streaming (ex. Bluetooth connection to it). No complaints.

The room was not as described. It was more like a motel room than a hotel room. The bed was very uncomfortable. The bathroom was extremely tiny and hard to get in and out even for a 9 year old. No swimming pools or hot tubs at this facility. The property is actually worse looking than the country inn next door but way more over priced than the country inn. I was very disappointed with this place. I’m never going to stay at any best western ever.

The shower did not drain there was mold floating in the water when we attempted a shower. Used tissues from previous guests stuffed behind the bed. Filthy walls and floors. When we complained the management refused to rectify, even after an Expedia agent reached out to assist. Spend the extra $50 and stay somewhere else!!! Do not be fooled by the Best Western name the company should revoke this from this particular MOTEL at best!!

Beds were comfortable however the room was not clean. Don’t take your shoes off your socks will be black. Shower was dirty. Curtain was torn and moldy. No hot water. It was close to Marina beach which was windy and desolate. No other amenities without driving. Freeway was right there so very noisy and thin walls could hear everything next door as well. Outside areas were worn rusty and dated. The breakfast was limited but okay if you like waffles. We were on a budget so get what you pay for. We made it work and have been in worse hotels but this is not it if you’re looking for something nicer.

Disappointing Stay – More Like a Motel 6

Our stay was disappointing and not at all what we expected based on the property description. The room was very outdated and not properly cleaned. When we arrived late at night, none of the lights were working—they were unplugged, and the TV was also unplugged and not set up to use. We had to call staff, who were friendly and helpful, to come fix it and get the TV working.

The air conditioning unit didn’t work during our stay, which was uncomfortable, but honestly, that was just one of several issues. The walls are extremely thin—you can clearly hear guests in other rooms showering, using the bathroom, and talking. During our visit, there were a lot of younger guests partying late into the night, and the noise was constant. One set of neighbors was smoking weed, and the smell easily came through the adjoining door to our room.

Unfortunately, this property felt more like a low-budget motel than what we were expecting. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re okay with a bare-bones, noisy stay.

They ran out of towels. We got 1 towel for 3 people two nights. 2nd night we lost power for at least a hour. The TV cable did not work. The shower had hair from previous stay. The breakfast is nice plus though. The rooms have new furniture. And hardware floors were new. Fresh paint on the outside so it does not look bad on the outside.
