The place was easy to find everything in the room looked nice and clean only issue we had was the noise at 2am people were outside being loud drinking listening to music we tried calling the front desk nobody answered my husband finally went outside after the loud nosies woke up our 3 year old and our 4 month old to tell them to please be quite our babies are trying to sleep they yelled back at my husband with not so nice words then again we got woken up at 4am I tried calling the front desk again they did not answer they kept driving around the property with really loud music

We didn’t use the gym or laundry. The staff were friendly. Our room was just too small for 3 adults. The bathroom was very small, a toilet and step in tub. One hook to hang your clothes. There was shampoo and conditioner in the tub area with body lotion, NO soap.
A small sink was outside the bathroom. The beds were supposed to be Queens but felt like full instead.
The breakfast was sufficient but served 6:30-9:30, wish it went to 10:30 and the coffee machines were really slow.

My partner and I went down to Monterey for the weekend. I booked a standard room, and the images showed pictures of the room with one bed. As my partner and I check in, they told me that I booked a double bedroom, and they explained that a \"standard\" room is two beds. I understand this; however, I wish that they showed images of two beds because there was 0 description of that. Also, their hot tub was slightly dirty. The breakfast was okay-- not many choices to choose from. What I didn't like, was that the doors weren't sealed shut-- you can hear the wind through the cracks of the door. Our AC also made a really loud noise every time it would turn on. This hotel is not at all horrible, it's average.

The room was clean. The toilet had to be flushed a couple times to make sure everything was disposed of. The heater was too warm, come to find out the thermostat was taken off the wall, and the TV didn't work. We were on the 4th floor, and at one point the elevator jammed and we had to go down 4 flights of stairs. I have a disability and by the time I got to the bottom I was in pain. Not the best experience.

Room was clean and staff was friendly. Nothing fancy. Room face outside, so keep that in mind if bad weather is expected. Breakfast was good. But they have a pancake machine that is hard to understand. So no one was making any pancakes. Need to provide lids for juice cups to take to your room to eat. My room had a noisey fan for the heater. Rm 419. But would stay there again. But I don’t spend a lot of time in my rooms. So it worked fine for my husband and I.

This was a good 3-3.5 star hotel. Friendly staff, quiet property, easy parking, comfortable beds - except pillows too large and firm for me. They offered a nice hot breakfast. Nothing much to walk to, but In & Out next door. I guess you could walk to the beach, but you have to cross the busy highway. Nice ocean views from afar, and easy Uber to restaurants. Make sure and drive the 17 mile route! We would return.

The heater in the room was not working, the front desk sent a rude maintenance guy to look at it. He right away said “yup I told them it wasn’t working.” And proceeded to tell us to call front desk for a new room or more blankets. I called front desk & they offered a space heater, due to not having any available rooms. The maintenance guy was not happy having to go back to front desk & bring us heater. After almost 20 mins he returned with a small desk heater for the room. Spent the night in a cold room.

First room that was checked into was not cleaned for the next guess. There was a key card on the desk and bedding was not replaced. The bathroom was also dirty as well. We will switched rooms. The location is nice but hotel needs some updating and doesn’t represent Well as beds were really worn down.

The only reason I got this because of the spa.The door is jammed, and I can't get in the spa.And one lady told me 10:30pm the spot closes and the other one that change shifts and took her spot, said.Now ed closes at 9pm what the f*** I'll never come to this place again. Why waste my money? I could just pay an extra $50 and get a top of the line hotel.This place sucks

The hotel room certainly didn’t look like the online photos and part of why I booked at that location. The toilet seat was broken and something that would have been a quick fix. The room was comparable to a Motel 6 but dirtier! I booked the room based on previous stays at other locations. When I checked in, I was asked if I had an IHG account and gave her my email. She continued to check me in and I assumed she located my account. I asked her later into the transaction and she stated that she didn’t locate my account. I guess if I hadn’t asked, I wouldn’t have received rewards that I earned. What a total disappointment for a sisters weekend. Don’t waste your money and stay here!!!!! You will thank me later!

This location felt more like a motel than a hotel. Our first-floor room opened directly onto the parking lot, and we did not feel safe staying there. We could hear people’s footsteps right outside our window and door, and at times it felt as if they were inside the room. As a result, we checked out early and moved to another hotel. This was the worst Holiday Inn experience we’ve had and did not meet our expectations for the brand at all. Please stay away from this motel.

My husband and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express at Monterey Bay by IHG over the Christmas holidays, and we had a wonderful experience.

The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. Everyone was lovely, and a special mention goes to the sweetest daughter of one of the receptionists, who truly added a warm and personal touch to our stay.

Breakfast each morning was delicious and well organized, with plenty of options to choose from. There were eggs, sausages, yogurt, biscuits, pancakes, muffins, bagels, and three different juices—something for everyone, and a great way to start the day.

Our room was extremely comfortable. We had a king-size bed, which was absolutely fabulous—large, cozy, and perfect for relaxing. The room also had a nice TV. While it wasn’t a smart TV, we brought our laptop and connected it, so we were still able to watch Netflix and Disney Plus without any issues.

The hotel’s location is another big plus. It sits right on the border of Seaside and Monterey, very close to the beach and water, as well as several delicious restaurants. Monterey is easily walkable, though it can be a bit of a long walk, so comfortable shoes are recommended. We also appreciated that our room faced the back of the property rather than the highway, which made it feel quieter and more peaceful.

The ONLY downside worth noting is that the hotel is not one large indoor building. The rooms are accessed from the outside, meaning you do have to walk outdoors to get to your room.

Hotel is run down. The bathroom walls have a lot of water damage due to the layout of the shower, water sprays out all over the floor and walls. There was hair stuck to the closet door. Needs to be repainted, paint is dirty chipping molding. There is rust around the hardware. The carpet and furniture are filthy with stains. I would not stay again.

The hotel and room were perfectly adequate and what one expects from an older hotel that’s been revamped sometime in the decade.
What stood out was the AWFUL layout of the breakfast buffet and FILTHY dining area. The breakfast space is entirely too small for a hotel of this size, especially when full. The dining area was full of spilled food on the floor & tables, trash left anywhere & everywhere *except* a trash can, and abandoned food in the buffet line. It looked like no one bothers to go around to clean & tidy the dining area until breakfast is over.
While a fancy machine that grinds coffee beans on demand per cup, then heats water, THEN dispenses coffee 4 minutes later sounds cute and fun, having only 2 of these machines for a hotel of this size is ridiculous. Just brew an urn of coffee that serves more than 2 people at a time!
If you plan to eat breakfast at this hotel, do so at your own risk. It’s a nightmare instead of a fun perk during your travels.

We stayed there for one night. Over all not bad but breakfast needs some work. We went there around 8:45 and there weren’t any food left so we had to wait and then by the time we had a table there was already a like to get hot food. Hot food comes out too slow a lot of people are just asking if there was anymore hot food left like their eggs, potatoes & sausages. By the time we ate almost 9:20 there was patties out but the breakfast close at 9 so most people were already done eating.

Need better trained and ways to stay up on their positions in serving food. The personal servicing breakfast were in panic and after two days just didn’t care and there were basic food shortages like no oatmeal, pancake machine out of batter. Fruit very poor, toasters broke. It reflects on upper management. I believe it will soon be let go of or sold to other hotel corporations. Even the electrical system in my room was poor. Couldn’t even charge up my cell phone when hooked up to a spit in my room. I think it’s in the midst of either breaking down or a slow upgrade to the complete system and operations. I’m just a customer with no true skills just my opinion.

our room key the receptionist gave us for our room on the 5th floor did not work so we had to go all the way back and ask for a new one and she moved us to another room on the opposite side of the building. on the second day, our key didnt work again and we had to go back and ask for a replacement again. additionally, we only booked this hotel for the hot tub which was listed as an amenity on this website. we went down to the pool in the freezing cold and the hot tub was completely cold. there was a sign that said heating works but no bubbles so we tried turning on the dial and waited 15 minutes and it didnt work. so again we had to go to the reception desk and ask and they said the hot tub was broken. this was not disclosed before booking nor was there any signage indicating that at the pool. our sink also broke (not our fault) so someone had to come in and fix it. due to these issues, i’m requesting a partial refund.

This was the worst Holiday Inn I have ever stayed in. It is very old, with almost every element being worn out, dirty and tattered. The common area near food had a hard to find bathroom that was so dirty I had to wipe off the sensor in the sink to get the water to turn on. The room number was not marked on hallway sign, hard to find. NO INTERIOR HALLWAYS. Exterior (outside) entrance to room feels very exposed and unsafe. Room Lights hard to find to turn on, and bulbs burned out. The room not having an interior hall made the room noisy from highway noise. The safety bar in tub was so loose I could have fallen if I needed to grab the bar. Woman checking me in was curt and almost rude when I asked her how to get luggage cart and access elevator. She seemed annoyed that I didn't know the layout of hotel, which was odd. Rooms in separate building from front desk and common area. I didn't see luggage carts near front of building since they were on side near other building. She was sooo unhelpful. turns out this hotel was more expensive than nicer hotels in Monterey town. I would NOT recommend this facility and I'll never stay here again.

The ice machine on the second floor needs to be cleaned. It is unappetizing to use in its current condition. The carpet in the room needs to be cleaned. The shower floor should be reconditioned. There was an end table in the room that had to be replaced because the moldings on the edge was falling off.
