My problem was with Expedia, there was a major snow storm arriving that night. We had a six hour drive home. The hotel said they would be fine with refunding me the second night and I should call Expedia as it was you I booked through. Try as might I could not get through your AI assisted customer service as my questions did not align with your preordained question selection. So unless you want to do the right thing I’m out $200 + dollars. Not a happy Expedia customer…

Stay was for a family wedding; a shuttle was to be proved for transportation to and from the venue. When asked at the desk during check in was told hotel had no shuttle service and no information about wedding transport. I did arrive before check in time and since my room was ready they allowed early check in. I did find the shuttle parked outside later.

The rooms were large but dated. The rooms had a scent of a cleaner that may be covering up some musty smell.

Best in the area

This hotel is head and shoulders above the others nearby. Staff was very competent and attentive. Room was recently renovated I think, and everything was clean and attractive. Breakfast was very good. My husband and I were quite pleased. Thank you.

Excellent & Clean Hotel!

This hotel is super clean and comfortable. Natasha was excellent from check in to check out. I booked this thru Hotels.com and had a handicap rm by mistake. Called Hotels.com who called Natasha and was able to move us to the 4th flr. I would recommend this hotel. It’s also in a quiet area, but lots to do and places to eat around it or within 15 minutes.

Hotel Review: A Mixed Experience

My family and I stayed at this hotel over the weekend. Overall, the experience was mixed. While the hotel was very clean both inside and out, there are definitely areas that need attention and updating.

The property itself feels a bit outdated, particularly noticeable in the guest rooms and pool area. The doors in the rooms did not close properly, which was a bit frustrating.

The complimentary breakfast was average. The hot items could use improvement in both quality and variety — they fell short of what we expected.

The most concerning issue was the outdoor pool. While we appreciated having pool access, it was in poor condition. The water appeared green and very shallow, and the pool area was noticeably rusty. There was a loose light fixture in the pool while children and adults were swimming, which raised serious safety concerns. It also seemed like the pool’s filtration system wasn’t functioning properly. The pool poles and handles were rusted, adding to the sense of neglect.

This hotel has potential, especially given how clean the general areas were kept, but significant maintenance and safety updates — especially in the pool area — are urgently needed.

Visiting because of a lax tournament. My sons had to go to bed at a decent hour. Half of the hotel windows face the pool . The pool is open till 10pm and was extremely noisy, people screaming and playing music. I called about possibly switching, staff was extremely rude about it and just said they are booked. I was staying for more than one night , asked to please call me to see if anything can be done the next day. Staff said they would but never heard anything .

Lovely place to stay!

We really appreciated the lovely decor of the lobby, complete with fresh flowers and a cozy fire. The breakfast was delicious and they even offered complementary food in the evening. The staff was very attentive and the beds and accommodations comfortable. We would definitely return.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Homewood Suites in Brandywine Valley. Well maintained property. Beds were comfy. Great breakfast buffet in the morning and guest reception with food most evenings. Property has attractive outdoor pool which was nice to have for our visit in the heat of mid-August. Staff was ultra helpful and friendly. Shout out to Ken at the front desk and Dave with engineering.

Nice place

Everything was very good with one exception. My room was situated above the pool which had lights on all evening. This would not have been a problem had the blinds in the room been able to close. Not a good nights sleep.

Great location! Close to stores and restaurants along the 202 yet quiet. Tucked behind a few other hotels closer to the road, chain restaurants and a forest. Spacious rooms. Clean. Comfortable beds. Kitchenettes. Breakfast included each morning, social hour each night. Great!

This Homewood Suites was exceptionally clean, bright & welcoming. The suite had everything we could have needed; the bed comfortable and the bathroom, spacious. The breakfast was very good and they offered dinners as well, although we did not partake of them. Probably the best Homewood Suites we’ve stayed in!

Great place to break up a journey.

We stayed in a two bedroom suite, as there was three of us. The pool looked nice, but the rain started before we got in. The restaurants are close by. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the light evening meal was a nice surprise. The beds are so comfortable, had the best nights sleep in ages.

Everything was phenomenal with the exception of the scrambled eggs at breakfast. They were just OK. However, there were plenty of other options. The pool was clean, the room was immaculate and well equipped and the staff was wonderful!
